Our tour driver was Nuno, who gave full commentaries in English and Portuguese. The time allotted at each stop was just right; most of the places visited were small towns and simple villages or viewpoints. An example of his interesting input was the visit to a (small) banana plantation. He dropped us off, pointed out the pathway, then drove the minibus around to the exit and hurried along to meet us and give us useful and interesting information. Some tour companies just drop you off or at best point you in the right direction. Top marks!!

Itinerary
Ponta do Sol is a small village in the south coast of Madeira. It's name translates literally to "Sun Point". It is one of the places on the island with the longest Sun exposure time.
Madalena do Mar is a small village situated very close to the ocean and with a large amount of banana plantations.
Paul do Mar is an agricultural and fishing village very close to the coast. It has good surfing conditions and has been a venue of the World Surfing Championships in 2001.
The most western point of the island where you'll find the Ponta do Pargo Lighthouse and some truly breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean. This is also where our lunch break usually takes place.
In Calheta village you will find one of the two man-made golden sandy beaches that Madeira has to offer. You will have the opportunity to visit the Engenho da Calheta (Sugar cane factory) were you can admire how the sugar cane rum is made and have the opportunity to walk around the distillery.

I've done several tours before with Lido and always had a positive experience. This tour lived up to expectations. The weather was against us but Marco, our tour guide was great at flexing timings and improvising to ensure we could get the most out of day in spite of the changeable weather. It had a good pace - never felt rushed. Furthermore, I was really impressed by how knowledgeable he was - I learnt a lot from the Banana Plantation and about the geology of Madeira. Would gladly recommend this tour.
It was very interesting and informative. Frequent stops and minibus was comfortable and safely driven.
Bruno was knowledgeable and humorous. He gave lots of information about local life and the transition of the years. He was an amazing tour guide. Love the tour.
The whole day was enjoyable and informative. Great places to visit and our driver/ host/ photographer and entertainer, luciano was friendly, and great fun. Lots of banter along the way. He made the trip even more enjoyable. The restaurant was lovely and got back in time for happy hour at the hotel. A great day out
Amazing views, and many photos. Our driver from Liana's Best Walks and Tours Madeira (not by Lido Tours) was very informative, friendly, and patient (patience was needed on this tour). It was a very nice day.
Good tour- decently paced, knowledgeable guide, safe car and safe driving. We got to see several stops along the way.
This part of the island has so few tours, which is a shame, as it is the warmest part of the island and some beautiful villages and photo opportunities. Our lovely guide did an amazing job translating into English, French and Italian as well as Portuguese. Very considerate, as I was travelling alone, that I sat at the front of the vehicle. Vehicle was very comfortable and all in all a lovely day.
Went with lido tours on this south coast tour as we had done most of the others with them other years. A bit disappointed really as we had an hour and half in a remote village restaurant with nothing to do do as no other shops or anything to see so we didn’t want a full meal either so time dragged other stops were ok but the best stop Calheta we only got half an hour which was a shame as it was a lovely place and we would have liked longer. Our guide Nuno was great and knowledgeable. But the separate seats on the mini bus were awful Iv got bad knees and I was crunched up so uncomfortable also no armrests whic was unusual on a mini bus.
Thanks again to Lido Tours for a very pleasant tour. Driver/guide Nuno very nice and knowledgeable again. Looking forward to the Northern Wonders👍
Diogo was an excellent driver and guide. We felt safe with him on some difficult roads. He was able to change between French and English with ease and humour! He knew the spots to stop and view. The southern corner of the island is often overlooked but it has some fantastic spots.we took advantage of the restaurant lunch and although the place didn't look much the food was excellent and very popular.

Our tour guide think his name was Gama was very good, the tour was brilliant

All tours were professionally organized, tour guides were very informative. Day itinerary very well planned out as each driver seemed to know the island weather and made the most of the situation to provide the best tour. Job well done.

All excursions are offered through TUI. They were great in terms of organization. The staff was friendly and well-trained.
A great tour with Luciano. We had a private tour with 4 people and loved it. Great views and insights. Anytime, no later than 2026. Thank you Luciano!!!
Not interesting apart from the walk through the Banana plantation. South tour was not very exciting except visiting a banana plantation.
The full-day tour south with Lido Tours was worth it. Small group with minibus. In mid-December, the Christmas decorations on the whole island are especially worth seeing! The tour guide provided us with a lot of information! Was a nice day, the eastern tour and the nun valley we also did with Lido Tours. We would make trips with this provider again.
