Well organized tour with natural beauty and Santana/lunch (excellent) as the highlight. Despite fog/rain - got a good idea of the Eastern part of Madeira.

Excellent trip, very knowledgeable guide, he wexplained everuthing in different languages so all passengers got to enjoy the scenery/history very comfortable minibus, all of Maderia impressed us,
Excellent tour and we saw a lot of the island. One of the stops was at the highest part of the island and it was very windy and cold despite the weather being very warm at lower levels. We recommend taking a layer of warm clothing for just that stop. You will see a lot on this very reasonable cost tour. Good informative and helpful guide and the groups are quite small.
Excellent tour very knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended.
Saw lots of the island and recommend finding somewhere to pause and seek refreshments in Santana if not eating lunch
A long day with too many short but similarstops/ views. Pico do Areeieo stunning, loved Santana too lovely little place. Could of done without the rest. Much preferred the west Madiera tour.
Highlight of our week in Madeira. The minibus was on time, clearly marked and comfortable (reclining seats and decent air conditioning). Our guide Nuno was excellent, he didn't just rattle off a script, he actively engaged with the group. His recommendations for a Poncha bar and a restaurant for lunch were both outstanding. Timing-wise the day was efficient without feeling rushed.
Great tour. Comfortable mini bus. Tour guide knowledgeable.
Nuno was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. He took us to some fabulous places on the East side of Madeira and throughout the 8 hours, provided great commentary on the history and natural resources of the Island. We had the best Poncha at the last stop and the restaurant recommendation for lunch in Santana was excellent. Thank you Nuno !
Our tour was french and English.. would not recommend it the tour guide talked to much and a lot of information was boring and having to listen in both languages was torture. Listening non stop to him talk the whole day really ruined this day for us.
Great first time visiting the East side of the island of Madeira. A full day packed with beautiful sights and short walks. Our tour guide was great and explained everything to us and gave us lots of great information about the island! I would say that it is quite a long day in a bus so if you get travel sick take note! Lovely way to meet some people though and to visit the island. Pick up is very handy and the bus in air conditioned with comfortable seats. Overall would recommend !
Company kept us informed about pick up time from our hotel, Bruno our guide and driver arrived 5 minutes early. Journey around east of island was spectacular and a must do and Bruno was an amazing guide and driver, a wonderful 8 hours spent, don’t think about it just do it, you will not regret it.
Amazing! Words cannot explain how beautiful this island is. The East is just spectacular and breathtaking. This is a great tour! It is small, not too many people which makes it very enjoyable and personalized.
Good way to see the East side of Maderia. Our driver/guide was very knowledgeable and made it an interesting day. We got to travel in a small group (minibus). Pickup and drop off were good and the company were prompt at responding when using the Viator App.
The tour was great and we saw beautiful views. Bruno was very friendly and we learnt a lot from him. Bruno was a fantastic guide. He showed us some beautiful places and recommended us a nice café and restaurant. We definitely recommend this tour.
Wonderful tour around madeira and the tour guide was amazing..he made sure to point out important locations and very informative..
Very good tour, good guide (Bruno). Not an issue for us but be aware that this was an 09:00 to 17:00 advertised but changed to 08:30 to 16:15 and also pick up point changed a few hundred metres.
Great tour great guide Picked up from our hotel Victor was great getting us to top of mountain before mist came down and crowds arrived!
Our tour guide Bruno was amazing! It was a fun filled day with many amazing sights and laughs! Our family of 10 ranging from 9 to 71 could all enjoy the tour!
Loverly views very scenic, Driver very knowledgeable and nice . Great Excursion definitely worth doing .
Such a great trip. Excellent value and the trip made it so much easier to see the sights in Madeira. A great day!
Marco was awesome. He was knowledgeable, funny, courteous, engaging, and a wonderful spirit. We saw so many amazing views. Got to try pancha for the first time. It was truly lovely❣️ Met some great travelers and loved every minute of it. My only regret is that I had run out of euros during the trip, as I didn't plan ahead. I couldn't give Marco a tip. For this I'm sorry. Though my tip would be anyone booking this trip, I hope you get Marco!
Madiera is stunning! We had quite a few stops and our driver Patrick had a great sense of humor and tons of knowledge about the island
Pick up from hotel was on time. Good guide/driver speaking fluently in French & English. Tour party roughly 50/50. Probably too long at 1 1/2 hours for lunch.
The views are magnificent, mesmerizing. Each stop had a very different vibe, it felt like seeing several amazing islands. Marco is one of a kind guide. Knowledgeable, sharing so much relevant and interesting information. He was personable and attentive to every organizational detail, creating a very smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish.
While in Madeira, I did the island East Tour with Lido. The tour started at 9:00 and ended at 17:00. Our driver and Guide was Nuno, who did a very good job, both as a driver and providing information on what we were seeing. We went as planned to Pico de Arieiro, but there was fog and we could see almost nothing: another wiewpoint was added later in the day as compensation. The tour went through Terreiro de Luta, Pico de Arieiro and mountains, Ribeiro Frio, Santana (where we also stopped for lunch), Ponta de São Lourenço, and Machico. It was avery good tour!
Fabulous day with Bruno- he was so informative, funny, excellent driver & made the day a pleasure. He communicated across the different languages effortlessly. He showed how beautiful the island is. Definitely recommend.
Madeira has breathtaking views and these particular destinations were amazing. The tour stayed on schedule. Marco, the guide, provided a constant stream of relevant and insightful information about both the places and Madeira in general. It is not often to see so much dedication and things done so well, so we appreciated it.
It was a great experiencia of seeing Funchal at the other side of the island! We had the opportunity to return to the island! Patricia was a great tour guide!
It was well paced, although would have appreciated a longer lunch break at Santana. We had time to eat but then no time to walk around the town. I only wished I booked the tour on the weekend when the farmers market was happening to also get a chance to see and buy local fruit and veg! The only thing was the van was not very comfortable for a whole day excursion. You could feel every bump on the road and also the seats were very narrow.
This would a great experience if it wasn’t for the cold, rainy and windy day which meant we saw few of the exceptional views. Do check the weather forecast before you head out.
10/10 fabulous day. Highly recommend. Our driver Hugo, was fabulous; a perfect blend of history, facts, fauna and flora, with a great sense of humour. Ask for 'Hugo'.
Had such an enjoyable tour with Nuno Pedro, who was so friendly and made each segment of the trip intresting with his information and knowledge. Its a great tour that allows you to visit many towns in a day and the scenery is breathtaking. Wear layers of clothing as you will experience all the seasons throughout the trip!!
We really liked this tour! Marco, our driver, was very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to ensure we had a great experience, especially as my partner has mobility issues. We particularly liked stopping at Pico de Arriero and São Lourenço. The only negative point was the restaurant we had lunch at, Santana, which Marco suggested, but we didn't like it.
Marko was a brilliant guide and driver Learned a lot and laughed a lot too
Interesting and entertaining commentary from excellent driver, happy to add a couple of extra stops. Wonderful views and scenery throughout.
Marco was a very informative tour guide. He provided us with great knowledge about east Madeira, especially the airport and its runway. His driving on steep roads was excellent. He kept us ahead of the rain most of the tour. I would recommend his tour to anyone.
The tour is a drop and walk tour and the driver guide had great foreign language skills and was able to explain about the island. So the tour stops was the issue the guide simply said 'you have 20 minutes or you have 1 hour and a half here', no real information about where to go or what you can see, this is absolutely key. The first stop was a viewpoint Terreiro da Luta, not sure why we stopped here, better time could be spent elsewhere and the view is better elsewhere. Pico de Arieiro, was frozen which is something that the tour guide said they knew but neglected to speak about this. It is rare it is so cold but information is a must, plus if the view is zero visibility due to weather then it would be better to change for another stop. Ribeiro Frio has a beautiful lavada walk to a waterfall which takes 10 minutes, this was not even mentioned by the guide but I recommend it. Santana is a quaint little town, look out for the traditional houses that weren't built just for tourism they are much more beautiful. There is also a Bordalo ii Street Artwork just outside the main town centre, well worth a visit which is something the guide didn't mention at all. 1.5 hours here was too long and most were waiting around. Ponta de São Lourenço is also very pretty but it deserves more time here than 20 mins. Machico Is stunning and again 20mins here was just not enough. Organisation is key to a days tour, it means you get to see as much as possible and you are informed of what you can see so you have the ability to use the time wisely.
It was a fantastic tour and our tour guide gave us so much information throughout the journey. Would highly recommend
A great informative introduction to the island with some stunning scenery, what more could you want?
Views were amazing. Disappointed that it was a bilingual tour, guide repeated everything twice. Would have received more information if the tour was only English. Seat had no leg room, very uncomfortable. Points of interest were good value for the money.
An activity filled and satisfying experience Friendly and knowledgable driver/guide. Good value for money
Everything was great from start to finish, every stop was very interesting, the driver made everything available to us in a very interesting way
The trip was fine but there were stops that were not long enough or not necessarily so long. One was too short to walk the levada and too long for being in the place. Santana village was dissappointing.
Really nice, calm driver with no end of facts about the island. Honestly felt I had done the whole island by the end of the tour as it covered so much. Good shoes a must
Great all day tour of east Madeira with Lido tours and Nuno our mini bus driver, who was very informative and knowledgeable throughout. The highest peaks may be a bit too much for those that don’t like heights but the views are wonderful. Most stops are 20-30 minutes with an hour and a half in Santana for lunch and time to explore. We would highly recommend.
This was a great way to see the east side of the island with a local informative guide. The tour took us to areas of interest and gave us time to walk around and explore on our own.
Easy and informative. A great way to see the Eastern side of island and all its glory. Drop off at our hotel in center of Funchal with dining options galore!
Thanks Nino We had a Good variety of stops and interesting places, can be cool up on mountains. Take some cash as a lot of small stops prefer cash. Overall interesting tour, worth doing
