Madeira 4x4 Jeep Tour: Fanal Forest & Porto Moniz Lava Pools

We really enjoyed our Tour with Bruno who is a very good and enthusiastic driver and Guide.

Really enjoyed our West Island jeep tour with Bruno. He was very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Bruno went out of his way to ensure everyone had an enjoyable experience. We would definately recommend the tour.

A great option for those who want to explore more distant parts of the island without the stress of driving. Our guide, Bruno, took us straight to the places worth seeing (I was personally captivated by the mystical Fanal Forest).

We had an absolutely delightful guide, Stephanie. She knew great routes and spots with magnificent views. We booked an 8-hour tour, but it ended up lasting about 10 hours—something we were actually happy about. A truly enjoyable and wonderful trip; we highly recommend it, and if you get Stephanie as your guide, you’re in luck.

Fantastic tour guide Danny - he made the tour fun, informative and comprehensive. We covered so much ground with many stops. We couldn’t fault the tour itinerary. The vehicle needs some improvement. We had the back seats and cushioning was not nearly thick enough. Brochure should be available to see before booking as we were not aware that we could not stand up like the other safaris.

Our guide Dan was the man, The man with a plan..... who drove the jeep. He climbed up mountains wide and steep, And woke the valley with his beep! He tracked the twisting coastline high, Where hidden gems escape the eye, To secret spots that none had seen, Safe in his hands, on cliffs of green. With expert skills behind the wheel, He made the rugged pathways feel Like smooth highways, while sharing lore Of every cove and secret shore.

I joined the North/West tour of Madeira and really enjoyed it. We had Danny as our guide, and he was a very safe driver, accommodating, and informative throughout the day. The tour packs in a lot of places, but we never felt rushed, which made it easy to enjoy each stop. It’s a great introduction to the island and a fantastic way to see a lot in one day. I’d definitely recommend it!

What an incredible experience on this magical island. A must do. In just 8 hours, you go from cliff-side views, a black sand beach, blue natural pools and infinite sea side to the most mystical fanal forest. Was a perfect trip with lot of Information from Paulo. Great Guy with a lot of Information and showing us around. The must see are the trees in Fanal forest. If lucky in the mist / fog. Cabo Girão the glas view Point is nog that interresting, and for 5 eur pp recomended to skip. Thank you Paulo for this Great experiance.

Had a lovely day and saw the most beautiful places. Bruno is a great driver with all the background stories you can wish for.

Our guide was Stephanie and she was great. She had a lot of energy and a formidable knowledge of the area. She took us to 8 different venues and allowed plenty of time for breaks and refreshments. Mostly we had enough time at each place, and it was only at Fanal Forest did we feel time was too limited as it was cut from 60 to 40 minutes. I’d have loved to have more time to relax and enjoy the amazing views. We ended the day at Ponta do Sol, a beautiful seaside town with lovely views. We both agreed this was the best activity of our two week holiday so a big ‘thank you’ to Stephanie for a great day out!

First time visitors to Madeira so we wanted a comprehensive tour of the island without the hassle of renting a car or route planning. We booked from the UK and had great communications from GetYourGuide and MadieraXperience. Our driver and tour guide for the day was Mauricio, a born and bred Madeirian (who had returned home after playing pro football for Gothenburg and Leyton Orient!) Such a friendly and knowledgeable young man, he was passionate about his island and knew everything about it from the fragile economics of balancing tourism with local living to the politics of being on an island with a mainland government. He knew the best spots to eat, how not to get ripped off and the best places to go and see with a limited time frame (and teenagers!). He took us to some beautiful places on the island, allowed us plenty of time to explore them and soak up the atmosphere. We would heartily recommend him/ this company to anyone wanting to see the beauty of Madiera, it was worth every penny. Looking forward to returning, and will seek out Mauricio again for further adventures.

Beautiful place, well worth visit on this trip to north side of island espevially if you dont have a car, Mautisio our driver/guide was really friendly, knowlegable & kind [ good looking too ] mafe ourvtrip much more enjoyable with his tips on locsl history & where to visit whilst here. Highly reccomend trip 😀

Our driver Mauricio was fantastic, very insightful and informative, and a good laugh. Very chill experience, with ample time to stop and explore different locations. Mauricio's English was excellent, to say he filled in for the English guide, and really made the experience all the while better. Highly recommend for a nice scenic drive with a nice vibe, good locations, and thoughtful driver(s). Other than the weather, which was beyond our control, we had an excellent time and some good banter. 5 stars across the board! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bruno showed us everything and was very friendly!

The day was pleasant but we were disappointed by the lack of explanations about the stops and the places visited. We were in a 4x4 but didn't go off the beaten path, which is a shame.

Our driver Maurizio has -despite the lesser weather up in the mountains - made it a pleasant tour. Beautiful viewpoints and at the end a nice poncha
