Funchal: Snorkeling Adventure In Eco-park / Shore Or By Boat

I was completely new to snorkelling, but the staff were very helpful and gave clear instructions. It took me a little while to get used to the flippers, but with perseverance i eventually got the hang of using them. The water was crystal clear so i was able to see lots of fish. The experience was definitely worth the money. The waves were quite strong on the day, which meant I was being pushed and pulled around a bit, but I put that down to the natural conditions and part of the overall experience. I would definitely recommend the experience

Rent a wet suite, otherwise it will be cold even if it is 22 degrees in the water. You will send a lot of fishes. Friendly and helpful guides. I realy recomend this

They give you your equipment which is very nice and clean and you go out on your own. The area is protected so it feels safe. Many tropical fish and fairly good water clarity.

Great tour guide helped us get used to snorkeling for the first time. Swam out to the speedboat which takes you a bit off shore, then get an hour to snorkel through amazing clear water and see loads of sea life. Incredible experience

Lovely experience. Essentially youre hiring snorkeling kit, given a quick briefing and off you go. Lots of different fish and saw an octopus. Great fun

The snorkeling from the boat was incredible. We saw a TON of fish, crabs, and even one small jellyfish. I took one star off because we got there on time and still waited for 30+minutes for the scuba divers to be ready. They also offered us a wet suite but we as tourists have no concept of the water temperature and having swam the day before thought we would be fine without. We were not. They didn’t offer any explanation or try to explain it was too cold just let us go without with no idea it was going to be freezing in late June. So do yourself a favor and do this trip with the boat (it’s worth the extra money compared to where you snorkel without the boat) but PLEASE if they offer a wet suite, get one.

Wonderful staff very helpful with the children. Everyone was accommodating and the trip was self led and fun ! The weather didnt cooperate with us too well but we still had a great time.! The place was a little difficult to find which made us a little bit late, but the boat was late so everything worked out perfectly I cannot say enough how helpful and fun the entire staff team was. I thought we were having a private boat tour but we got to go with a few people from a wonderful place !

Just to help out the next people: Go through the Carlton Hotel lobby, take the elevator to the pool level, go past the pool to a ramp that goes to another elevator, take that elevator to the 0 floor. The business is the dive shop. Besides getting there, everything went smoothly. Wet suits can be rented (6 Euros) and we needed them. You can rinse off after in a hot shower. The equipment was great, the people running the dive shop were friendly and helpful. We were told there was a natural reef towards the rocks to the East. Do not miss it! So many fish. We saw a lot of different varieties and had a very nice experience. Definitely recommend if you love water activities.

Booked quickly through TripAdvisor. Everything worked out fine. After a brief briefing, we went into the water. A nice adventure, even for beginners.

I signed up for snorkeling for the first time in my life and this introduction exceeded all my expectations. So much knowledge coupled with patience and kindness rarely comes together.

We were there with 3 children. 14 years, 12 years and 10 years. It was a great experience. We had borrowed wetsuits on site for 6 euros per person, which really paid off. We could see many fish and 2 octopuses.

They were amazing with us, we simply rented the equipment, we also rented a suit because of the cold, and we had all the freedom to explore the sea, ran all 5 stars we saw immense amazing fish and many crabs (all harmless) Super recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful experience that you can integrate perfectly into a holiday day. Very nice and competent briefing, top equipment. We also borrowed a wetsuit, which probably increased the pleasure in December. Price is very moderate. The sea is wonderfully clear and there is a lot to see. Afterwards, relax in the large pool area of the Carlton and the experience is perfect. Clear recommendation.
