The driver / tour guide Mr. Burrhus needs more training in respecting customers. He kept on ranting more than 10 minutes continuously in Portuguese. When reminded that he needs to speak in English he replied rudely saying he still needs to pickup English speaking customers and only then he will start in English. Throughout the tour he provided minimal explanations in English without any enthusiasm and seemed to just go through the motions of being a tour guide #disappointed

Inserted withing the Laurissilva Forest, it's an amazing place inside a lushful green valley. We can do a small walk in the middle of the forest named "Vereda dos Balcões" (entrance fee not included), this walk it might possible not to be made related to weather conditions. We can also visit the fishing tour nursery (entrance fee not included) on that village.
Amazing place by the sea, with great views over the valleys and the massif of Eagle Eagle - Eagle's Nest

The tour was brilliant. One of the highlights of our holiday! A really good way to explore the Eastern side of the island. We had enough time in most places and there were a couple of places that we know we want to go back to and explore more. Paolo, our guide for the day was brilliant. He was funny, friendly and really knowledgeable. He did the tour in Portugese, English and French which was very impressive! Also, listen to his recommendations - the lunch we had based on his recommendation was fab! Wear sensible shoes to get the most out of each stop. And prepare for heights! Cliff roads make me nervous but the views are absolutely worth it!
Wonderful excursion to breathtakingly beautiful spots. Further enhanced by our guide/driver whose knowledge and passion for his island was a joy. Small group in a minibus just ideal.
Eduardo was great! He was fun, had a great sense of humor, was filled with information about the history, flora/fauna, rural life, and brought us to hidden gems that were not on the itinerary. I am in Madeira for 3 months and this was my last tour — And one of the best. Highly recommend.
I highly recommend this tour. It was really enjoyable and Bruna our tour guide was full of information on the history and the different landscapes of Maderia. We had an interesting, enjoyable day as a group with Bruna at the helm.
We had a fantastic time on this excursion. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely safe, even on the high mountain roads. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with spectacular views at every turn. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough – it was a truly memorable experience
Unfortunately, weather can impact their experience of this tour. Whilst it was a good tour, our visit to Pico De Arierio was disappointing due to extreme fog. Our guide was good, but due to the French/English combination, I found I missed alot of what he was telling us in English because the French would go on for so long, and we would switch off. The tour itself is a great way to see this island if you are on a limited stay.
The variety of places visited on this tour was really good and the driver/guide pointed out many things that we could have missed on our own. It highlighted the verdant nature of Madeira and in and out of the clouds as we climbed to several high points. I think it would have been better to have a separate driver and guide as the driving was challenging and it was obvious our driver found it difficult to concentrate on driving and provide his commentary. However he did manage it and in two languages too! He was less inclined to answer questions which was a shame. All in all we had a really interesting day full of new experiences.
You will get an allround view of Madeira. Very good driver. Price is ok. Take good shoes and warm clothes with you for when you are at the top of the Arieiro.
Bruno was a super tour guide speaking both French and English to great fluency! Very knowledgeable about the local history customs and flora, on top of that he drove smoothly and was very friendly. Highly recommend
A very interesting route, a chance to see the island from locals as well. Adorable guide - Oscar!!! I vote - Oscar need an Oscar (like films :-))
This was a great tour of East Madeira for us. Our guide was amazing, informative and patient. He gave us lots of facts, both in English and Portuguese, while continuing to drive safely. A very enjoyable day.
Bruno was excellent, picked us up from our Hotel and was very informative throughout the day. Lots of time at each stop to explore and his driving was brilliant and very comfortable considering the terrain of the roads. We were in a mini-bus with a total of 15 guests. Commentary was in English, French and Portuguese
excellent east and west tour with Fernando and Bruno, well informed all the way in a small group both guides turned up at hotel on time and would defnitely reccomend them. Will be using again on our next trip to Madeira
The mini bus was very cramped. So pleased be aware if you have disability issues. The excursion needs to looked at. The first part going up to the highest mountain 3rd highest on the island Pico do Arieiro. Should be weather permitting only, this way people would be more excepting. It was thick fog ii was totally pointless & dangerous. We couldn't see a thing. Bruno our guide continuely said this is part of the itinerary so he had to take us. WHY !!!! Personally my thoughts were if the weather is thick fog, you can't see a thing they know it's going to be like this why bother ??? Admittedly if the weather was good & clear day it would be amazing. They should consider weather permitting then either cut the excursion length down or given us more time in the other places visited, to be fair were great. It was a waste of 2 hours rude up & down the mountain. Madeira is a stunning island. All excursions we did were amazing, this one was slight a disappointment I know you can't help the weather but some thought needs to be put into.
Great guide and we were lucky with the weather until we got to the peak (our last stop). With the Levada walk it is worth going to the end if the visibility is ok. The viewpoint is pretty good. Took us around 23 minutes, coming back is faster.
Fabulous day out with Rafael our guide in a comfortable 8 seater minibus. He quickly made the 3 couples and single man feel like a family. Great sights and not rushed as we took in the breathtaking scenery. The group comprised Welsh, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese and we bonded very well as Rafael recognised when to tell us important facts but also letting us talk. Great and inexpensive whole day out.
Really enjoyed this tour Raphael our guide was so informative about the places that we stopped and the flowers that we came across he was a really lovely man who seemed to enjoy his job 😀
Driver knew island extremely well and explained a lot. Mini bus felt new and had a powerful engine so driving up all the steep twisty roads was not a problem. We had perfect weather, blue skies clear visibility.
Great trip with friendly and knowledgeable guide. The scenery was stunning and the trip ended almost in another world having driven through the clouds to the top of Pico do Arieiro 1,810 metres above sea level.
All in all an excellent trip with a very knowledgeable driver. Would have liked longer on pico (1st stop) and less 20-30 mins stop’s for photos (5-10 mins would be long enough for photos) Thelevada walk was lovely but it would have been better to have time for coffee at the end of the walk.
Thanks a lot to DG Travel for interesting, well organized tours! I did with them East Tour, West Tour, and the levada Ribeiro Frio-Portela. Always punctual, the guides are professional, knowledgeable, funny. Got a lot of information about the island, stunning views and amazing photos! Special thank to Ana who helped me to choose the tours:)
Appaling guide. Drove as if was on a rally with 12 passengers stuffed in a small van, then SHOUTED and poked fingers at a passenger when she dared ask a question. Left one of the passengers at a location when she was a bit late. Then found her on a road. Moody, nasty, walked in filthy trousers which were not washed for at least a week. Rude. The man needs a new job. Disgraceful. We paid to get a nice day, on a holiday and got this clown to insult us
Very nice experience. Bruno was a fantastic guide. The tour is very nice and complete, it worth it because you see a lot of places in just a day.
Value for money tour with good stops and courteous driver. Did well to speak in English and French whilst driving.
Great full day trip giving you a taster of each stop. Knowledgeable and friendly guide. Lunch was extra but great value. Some spectacular views of this great island which I wouldn’t have known about.
Good Driver with a lot of details from geography, peoples, nature and culture. The tour was in english and german language.
Friendly staff, mostly good drivers and great knowledge on the trips. To note - they're the cheapest for the 3 trips package!! Wasn't 110% happy, messaged and they've offered us something special for next time. Great! Thank you! ☺️ We did the Nun's Valley (half a day), East and West Tour (full days) with them.
Generally, it was a pleasant experience, our driver gave a lot of information. The route was not followed exactly, at one point we didn't go because of the weather as the driver told us, and instead of Machico we stopped at a point above the city for the view.
I recommend this excursion, our driver was careful, beautiful views in the mountains, and adherence to the schedule
The times you put in the schedule of the tour are not fulfilled... I imagine it still adapts to some users but hurts us others. The schedules are to respect them since that's what you hire. To make this tour more enjoyable, it would be necessary to stop in a water area. Go through four watery spots, wasted twice as much time in several destinations, so putting a half-hour stop in some beach area would be advisable.
Was a nice tour given by a friendly and knowledgeable guide. You come to different places to take pictures.
Mr. Fernando was unbeatable in the two Tours we conducted, in the knowledge, availability, enlightenment and Mood he created.. Excellent. Travel to repeat with Friends. Thank you.
Danke Eduardo. Wir werden euch weiterempfehlen.
We were picked up on time at the hotel. Despite mixed weather, we had a varied and informative tour of eastern Madeira.
Guide super sympa et drôle. Tour permettant de découvrir les essentiels de l’est de l’île. Je recommande !!
Our guide/driver FERNANDO was very accommodating, friendly and gave us a lot of information about the island in general. He has a very great knowledge and loves being in contact with people. A tour with him I can highly recommend to everyone. Just when the road to Pico Arieir was closed (due to snow the night before!) he improvised spontaneously and took us to other ways. Even the winding streets up I felt safe in the minibus at all times. Thanks again here to Fernando and the great day. Priska
Spectacular tour with the guide Ricardo who is an excellent acquaintance with the history, fauna and flora of the island. Besides being very friendly and excited. All contact was made by phone and were very welcoming and friendly. To repeat other experiences with this Enterprise on a next visit to Funchal.
