Canyoning In Madeira Island- Level 1

Super fun and exciting challenge! The guides were great! We didn’t have any idea what we were in for, though, by the description. It starts out in a 20 minute hike in your very hot and tight wetsuit. Besides rappelling down the canyon, which is wonderful, you also have to do quite a lot of scrambling over boulders and hiking. Just be prepared. The adventure only lasts about 2 1/2 hours, although the TripAdvisor ad says 5 hours.

This was definitely the highlight of our trip! We had an absolute blast. Physically challenging, but worth the effort. Our guides Lobo and Jaoa were terrific, always felt completely safe and they were very patient with everyone. All the gear you need is included. They transported our personal bags to the end of the canyon, so no need for waterproof containers. Bring a go pro if you have one. Highly recommend if you want a little adventure!

Our canyoning experience was amazing! This was our first time and our guide, Filipe, made sure we were safe and comfortable through each obstacle. He was very knowledgeable and funny which made the trip so enjoyable. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone seeking adventure and beautiful scenery!

Great experience for someone with no experience. I want to do intermediate now! The guides were fun but always kept our safety in mind. One of my favorite things experiences in Maderia! Don’t miss it!

The experience was very exciting overall. We had a lot of fun, the guides were nice. They took many pictures of us and gave us a little snack, it was really pleasant overall. What I didn't particularly like was that it felt a bit rushed, I would've liked a slower pace, maybe because it was my first time and I was a little cautious, but also because I would've like to have more time to admire the surroundings. I also didn't know that there were spots were the water was quite deep, and even if you could avoid them or get help help to cross them, I would've like to be aware of that before booking, as someone who doesn't know how to swim very well. But overall we loved it, it was fun and challenging, but the difficulty level was fine, even for a first experience of that kind.

Wow.... what a fantastic way to spend a morning!! Andrei (PH) and Doug were awesome guides and my adults kids/I loved the entire experience. Great exercise and we all enjoyed jumping into the water!

Such an amazing experience!! I took my 13 year old son on this trip and it was our first time canyoning. The guides were absolutely fantastic and so engaging with my son. The scenery was stunning - the obstacles were so much fun - the kit provided was excellent - the safety measures were great - the pick up and drop off was easy and super helpful - the length of the tour was perfect - and the snacks & drinks were a much welcomed bonus! The entire experience was fabulous and my son is already asking to return to Madeira to do this experience again! Huge thanks to our amazing guides!

Amazing time canyoning with our instructors! Everything was explained clearly and felt very safe. I’m a klutz, but I never felt like I’d hurt myself. They took great photos of everyone and sent them to us the day after. You’ll definitely feel a little sore the day after, but it’s worth it for a truly unique experience!

An all around great experience for our entire family, most of whom were canyoning for the first time. Andre and Joao were fantastic guides, patiently explaining each obstacle, adjusting their support to meet each participant's comfort level, using humor to keep things light, and taking great pictures to help us remember the event. The chocolate and water break in the middle of the experience was an especially welcome surprise. Absolutely put this on your list of adventures while in Madeira!

Lots of fun great guides that helped us through it

We wanted to try something new and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The safety equipment, wet suit and boots were provided as well as a snack and some water. The guides/instructors were great and I would recommend Harmony in Nature for my friends and family :)

We went as a couple, and never tried this before. It was so fun! We loved it🩵 You had to rapell, jump an søide down the river. Challenging and exciting but very safe because of the staff. All professionals, friendly and helpulf guys. Next time its level 2! Thsnk you for having us. Higly recommended!

We had a most excellent day! The guides, particularly Andre, were superb. The made sure everyone was safe and having fun. It started with a short hike, walking through the river, and the a series of jumps, slides, and repels. We were a small group of 11 people and the pace was good. The quality of the equipment was also excellent (wet suit, shoes, & helmets). Couldn’t recommend more! Level 1 was great for both the 13 year old adventurous boy and the 50 yo less adventurous mom.

The canyoning was a great experience and Harmony in Nature were great with communication & pick up from our hotel. The equipment provided was all very good- wet suit, socks and boots- and our guides were very thorough and funny. Would definitely recommend.

One of the best things we did in Madeira! Canyoning was so much fun and the views were amazing. You get to walk in the river, jump to the natural pool, slide down natural slides and abseiling. The instructors were very skilled, patient and fun. The photos you get is also a nice touch and a great memory to look back on. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to do something fun and exciting in Madeira!

We had an excellent time canyoning through the mountains of Madeira with Duarte, our guide, and his team. It was a very professional experience as we went down several cliffs, including a large 20 meter cliff down the side of a waterfall. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to experience the nature of Madeira.

An incredible experience! We went canyoning in Madeira and absolutely loved it from start to finish. Everything was very well organized, we felt safe the whole time while having so much fun, and the landscapes are breathtaking.
