Canyoning Experience Level Ii Moderate

First time canyoner and I might be hooked! I took the intermediate course with guides Beto and Diogo who were both THE BEST. I’ve had a lot of great tours while on Madeira but this was by far the best. Both guides were funny, personable and professional! They made sure we had all the information necessary to have the most fun and be safe. And took amazing photos for us to keep from the day (free). I’m giving a very strong 100/10 for this and highly recommend. My favorite part was the jumps and surprises :) No experience necessary and if you’re not a great swimmer the wetsuit helps you float

Everything was well organized and went smoothly. Our guides, Beto and Diogo, were fantastic! They were professional but also fun to be around. Thanks to them, we had a great time!

After experiencing the Level 1 Canyoning a week ago we dared to do the Level 2 today. The Canyon was simply beautiful with many waterfalls and spots where we could decide between jumping and going down by rope. The water was refreshing and the spots we needed to swim were absolutely wonderful. Our guides Alex and Alfonso were always there to help and guide us down. They even managed to make the hike to and from the canyon a pleasureable experience. Thank you guys.

Words can't describe how beautiful this canyon is and how incredibly able and gracious our guides were! Our guides, Daniel, Afonso and Diogo were well equipped with knowledge, experience, and a quick wit. The were funny and helpful at every single turn. We were told to treat each other like family during our tour and that's exactly how they made us feel. As someone who generally hates group excursions, this turned out to be the best I've done. The canyon, the falls, the pools the views and our guides were second to none! 100 out of 10! Thank you for an unforgettable experience!!

We went canyoning with Sandro and Alex and had the best time of our lives. Me and my partner were in a very small group of us and 3 other tourists. As we were such a small group, the guides really took their time to get to know us. From the second they picked us up, we felt super welcome and immediately felt the excitement of our instructors for us being there. Sandro and Alex really took their time to make sure everybody understood what to do and how it worked. They listened to our questions and sometimes fears and always encouraged us to just enjoy the experience. It is very clear how important safety was for our instructors, as we saw other groups with way less instructors, doing stupidly dangerous things (such as jumping from very high in very undeep water). As a little extra, at the end we were treated with snacks and water. We also afterwards were sent the pictures they took with their gopros, which is a great souvenir. If you are looking for a very fun, adrenaline provoking, and super exiting thing to do in Madeira, i would 100% recommend to go canyoning with Sandro and Alex. I can guarantee you that you will have a good time and you will remember this trip for many years to come. Obrigada Sandro and Alex!

Beto & Afonso were incredible guides on the Level II Canyoning in Curral das Freiras! We had a family group of 7 people and they did an amazing job. They were professional, safety oriented and extremely fun. I absolutely recommend going canyoning with them. They helped us create family memories we will never forget!

The guides were incredible (Beeto & Diogo). They were warm, made us all feel very safe and made moments even more fun. There is something special about that mountain water!

AMAZING TIME!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you re looking for a great day of physical activity and adventure! Beto and Vitor were so professional and fun at the same time. Professional in the sense that they very clearly explained everything we needed to know and we felt very safe. Fun in the sense that they were happy and upbeat and joked with us the whole time. We smiled and laughed through the entire experience. From canyoning (we call it rappelling in America), to swimming, to cliff jumping, the day was filled with adrenaline and we loved it. Only negative - there are no toilets, even at the beginning and end of the adventure. So when you leave your house to head to the location, from then on, nature is your restroom. At the very end, we were given a Snickers bar and bottle of water so bring snacks to eat on the way back down if you tend to get hungry. Loved this adventure!!!

An amazing day with Alex and Tomas. Picked up from our hotel on time and 20 minutes later we are at Valley of the Nuns getting ready for our tour. 12 people on our tour with two guides Alex and Tomas. About a 15 min hike to the first of 7 waterfalls. This was my first time and I was well taken care of. A was a bit scared at first but I never felt unsafe. They carry a go pro so you get to see pictures by the end of the day. It was a perfect day. Ask for Alex and Tomas as they were professional but so fun. Looks like they love their jobs!

A great way to experience the inaccessible parts of Madeira. Beetho (?) and Alex were brilliant and made the experience fun. It was a large group but they managed it well and safely and I’d thoroughly recommend it.

Level 1 was so good, we had to try level 2 before we went home. The views on the way down were amazing, the instructors Filipe, Hugo and Beeto were fantastic, great sense of humour and explained every detail we needed to keep safe. Fantastic day, with like minded folks. Absolutely recommend and glad we’d opted to do level 1 first.

We had Betu, Alex and Carina as our guides, who were a pleasure. There were a lot of really high jumps, rappelling down the waterfall and walking through the river. We loved it! The same evening we already received all the pictures they had taken with the GoPro.

Daniel and Philip were amazing guides on this fantastic canyoning adventure! Me and my 2 teenage lads loved it, Daniel and Philip put fun and energy into the whole experience from start to finish, which relaxed me and enabled me to get the best out of the experience. Having the photos as a memory of the experience is great. I highly recommend, we'll do level 3 next time we're in Madeira!

It was my first experience with cannyoning and it turned out to be a great adventure. Great atmosphere, very professional service (Philip & Alfonso - thank you), I felt safe and taken care of throughout the event.

This was our first time canyoning. The moderate level was perfect for us. Two jumps (2m & 4m). The guys from Discover Islands were cool, friendly, funny and also serious when it was needed. We felt secure in their hands. I can only recommend!!

It is an amazing tour with very enthusiastic guides, and I highly recommend it! Pick-up by the jeep was on schedule, nothing to complain about.

From the first moment it was an incredible experience, Bernardo and Filipe are really nice, they treat you in a very close way, you learn a lot and they transmit you the confidence so that nothing of what you do in the activity scares you. I recommend 100% to do this activity if you want to spend a different morning in Madeira, get to know the mountain and laugh a lot.

We had an excellent experience on this tour. We had a group of 8 friends and family plus two other couples. Out of our group, I was the most concerned about my ability to do this activity. The guides were very good. Alex was crazy but reassuring at the same time and Beto told you everything you needed to know. They made a fun pair and took lots of pictures for us. We all had a great time on this trip! Best excursion of our vacation. Our guides were Alex and Beto. They were 1st class. Outstanding. Their top priority at all times was our safety. You could see right away their experience and competency. But what really made it was their energy, light-heartedness and pure enjoyment of their job. It just shown through! We were all made to feel comfortable and safe. I can not recommend our guides and this trip highly enough.

This is a must do if you are visiting Madeira! The guides are amazing. I was worried this would be too hard for me but my husband and I had a great time! We already want to do level 3. We had a wonderful experience with Filipe and Mauro.

We had today our first experience with Canyoning in general. It was amazing!!! Tiago und Beto you are the BEST!!! It was great adventure with beautiful waterfalls. After doing level 1, we also wanted to experience the level 2. This was also an amazing experience and so much fun! Our instructors Alex and Mauro were so nice, fun and good energy and that makes the entire day just great. :) Highly recommend to do this!

For the first time in our lives we went to Canoying. I must admit that it was a great adventure. Special thanks to our guides - Alex and Bernardo! 😀 They did a great job. The Canyoning experience was amazing! Beto and Bernardo were hilarious and professional guides. They also make a lot of pictures during the tour capturing the fun! There was a good variety between natural slides, free jumps and abseils. We would definitely recommend!

This year was my first time travelling to the beautiful island of Madeira with my wife. As we prefer plenty of action on holiday, we quickly came across the team around Sandro from Discovery Island on the internet. We rarely give feedback online, but this team really deserves it. - The appointment processing was uncomplicated via WhatsApp - the transport hotel/excursion destination was always on time and the cars were in top condition (we went on several excursions) - everyone involved in the excursion always endeavoured to create a unique and unforgettable adventure - I would particularly like to emphasise the professional attitude with regard to safety. Beto & Bernardo really accommodated us today like true friends! So much fun & laughter, but serious with regards to safety. We were picked up at 9am precise by Bernardo & driven to the place where it started. Afterwards also brought back right in front of our hotel. Everything was taken care of! All the material was provided and of good quality! Overall a great experience!!

The guys were amazing and a great laugh even the people that were more preserved ended up coming out of their shell around them, amazing guides and a great experience would highly recommend!

If you want to go canyoning, choose this team. Tomas, Tiago and Alex are the best guides. We had so much fun, but safety always came first. All in all it was a great tour with waterfalls up to 18 meters for abseiling, 3 meter jumps and an awesome slide at the end of the tour. Thank you for this great experience.

Wow! We have just returned from our canyoning trip with Alex & Beto and we can honestly say this is the best trip we have ever done anywhere! Beto and The Mexican (genuinely the names) are two 10/10 stand up guys. Great guides, super attentive, naturally charismatic and to top it all off, some of the funniest people we've ever met. The Canyon was gorgeous and had a mixture of descents, rapel and rope assisted, always felt super safe and whilst was the intermediate course it was easily doable for the average person. Would return and go again, potentially in the future come back to Madeira for the harder difficulties. To top it all off, 3 hours of worth of photos all for free from the guides!

Overall, there were good vibes, the instructors were professional but always playful and made sure people were enjoying themselves. It was an amazing experience with a lot of jumping, rock sliding and cliffs for more technical descends.

Expert and experienced guides, beautiful area beautiful canyon. Good material, clear explanation. A large group was split into 3 smaller groups, so there was enough personal attention. That we sometimes had to wait for each other gave the necessary quiet to also look around at the truly magnificent nature in the canyon. An insane experience: I will definitely do it again and at a higher level.

Super guidance! Professional and experienced instructors. We went with our children aged 7 and 8. The safety was guaranteed every moment so that we as a family had a super nice experience.
