Great hotel. Around 15-20 mins from most places in Funchal. Fitness facilities are the best I've seen at a hotel anywhere. We had a sea view room which was awesome. There's no guaranteed parking but we managed to get through a whole week using the free spots around the hotel.
We had a fantastic stay at Sentido Galosol and would happily return. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had a beautiful sea view, which made every morning and evening special. The food onsite was amazing, with fresh fish served every day and plenty of delicious options throughout our stay. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and something we looked forward to each day. What truly made this hotel stand out, though, was the staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and well looked after. A special thank you to Zozima, Carlos Dinis , both Estefanis, and Afonso Faria, who all went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their kindness, warmth, and professionalism made our holiday even more memorable. Thank you to everyone at Sentido Galosol for such a wonderful experience. We can't wait to come back!
4th visit to Madeira and 1st time staying outside Funchal. Great location if you are doing tours and levada walks (tour company next to hotel very good). Several supermarkets and food choice of restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Excellent breakfast selection fresh bread, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, salad, hot selection and egg station available daily too. Staff super helpful and friendly, thanks you made our stay memorable. Fantastic to meet DJ the hawk and his handler. Hotel clean and tidy with good facilities reading room, pool, lots of cosy seating, gym etc We stayed in room 3102 with a sea view and great sized balcony with table and chairs. This is across the road from the main complex where the pizza restaurant is. The option of sun loungers on our balcony would have been good as lots of space for them.
This location offers an exceptional experience with its serene ambiance, allowing you to only hear the soothing sounds of the ocean. Additionally, it provides a convenient charging station for electric vehicles. The hotel room is spacious and well-equipped with a big bathroom. The breakfast is also highly commendable, ensuring a delightful start to your day. Plenty of parking spaces near the hotel. While the corridors need updating, we noticed intermittent plumbing odors.
Never been to Madeira before, we were impressed. Sentido Galosal is a lovely hotel. We booked 7 nights bed & breakfast in 9 - 15 February. Think we were lucky, the weather was glorious. Our room had a side sea view which was actually 180 degrees of sea which was nice. Nice staff, spotless specious rooms with a balcony. Ate breakfast outside most days which was a welcome change from the rain back home. There are a few restaurants/cafes a short wander away which are nice. Quiet location, but could be because it was out of season. Bus stop to Funchal is near so went there a few times, didn't cost much, took about 30 mins tops. There's lots to see. Also recommend using the Bolt app to book taxi's for a reasonable price. Recommend the day trips to see the East & the West of the island, simply stunning scenery. Loved every second.
