Atlantic Sagres

We stayed a week here as we'd booked already and were committed. It was an okay place to sleep but overall not great. It's very exposed to the wind and there's near-constant traffic noise all day, so we found we couldn't use the balcony nor leave doors/windows open. Generally worn out/poorly-maintained; washing machine left oily marks on our clothes, ruining some items; damp smell under sink, odd mix of cheap cutlery; linen/towells were threadbare. They require a 100 Euro cash deposit (no receipt), which you have to arrange to get back. All in all we regret choosing this place and would have happily paid more for somewhere better.

We stayed here for three nights. The host lady was kind and helpful. It's located by the main road to the cliffs and beaches. The apartment we stayed in was well-equipped. We used the kitchenette, dishwasher, and washing machine.

While the apartment was clean and in a convenient location, some of the appliances need updating! We were treated in an extremely rude manner by Anabela, the lady who checks you in, when a pipe burst one evening and the apartment began to flood. It was a Sunday and we had trouble contacting anyone. When the connection was finally made and Anabela arrived, she behaved in an accusatory manner. We were standing outside with all our belongings to keep them dry and it was now nighttime. She began mopping after she realized we didn’t cause the problem, not offering us any solution to where we would spend the night. I finally went in and asked receiving a negative response until she agreed to phone the registration manager who quickly offered us another apartment. Anabela continued to be rude and offered no apology for our inconvenience. Booking.com was great when I contacted them the next day, apologizing and offering us a rebate. I would not stay in ann Atlantic Sagres accommodation again!

The location is very good for traveling all around the area. It is next to a few beaches so you can walk within a five minutes. On the opposite side of the road is the best restaurant nearby. Also the best ice cream location is 50m away. Note that you are next to a busiest road so it is not as calm as you may expect. On arrival you need to call Anabel and she is to wait for you on the spot. There is a 100EUR deposit you need to leave but there was no problem with return. There are four parking spots that you can use plus nice underground parking but the entrance is pretty rough (high curb). The internal is very simple and it needs some cleaning and restoration but nothing disturbing. The kitchen is all you need to cook some food and all equipment is operational. To make shopping you need to walk 800m. Note that there is no cleaning service during your stay (8 days).
