My husband and I are accustomed to navigating new cities with GPS. However, the GPS function on this app on my worked poorly. We tried entering the various destinations in Google maps on a separate smartphone for the navigation, but the descriptions were not precise enough to find the exact locations. Once we arrived at what we thought was the correct location (some of the locations looked different from the qula photos) we were at a loss as how to answer most of the questions. Some of the questions required prior knowledge of the subject; with others we could find no clues around us to the answer. After five destinations we were so frustrated thay we gave up and went back to our hotel. I will never do another qula tour again.
The tour certainly delivered on accessing lesser visited parts of the city and took us to some pretty little side roads and quaint buildings. The map was easy to follow and locations were identifiable and we learned a lot about Maastrict that we wouldn't have done without the tour. There were a variety of question types and all of us (adult 17, 15 & 12) could join in. However a couple of them were specific to the Netherlands and needed a knowledge of national figures/culture. Not all of the locations on the tour had English translations of the text so there was some guesswork involved. We ended up with a score of 48 (not good) but we had a focus for our visit to the city and saw a lot of it. The tour also prompted interaction and conversation which was fun.
Nice tour with interesting side facts about the city, we have seen hidden gems and hot spots alike. Would recommend it to people that want to have a small challenge combined with a cheap e-guide.
a perfect and amusing way to discover a city we loved it! without this guide, we would have half of the city recommanded higly
Nice tour, received some insight on city history of Maastricht, but terrible translation from Dutch to German.
As a Limburg native it was great to show Maastricht to a friend with the ue of the e-Scavenger hunt; I learned new things about a place I thought I knew well! Despite the pouring rain, we had a great time stopping at regular intervals in cafes and restaurants.
Very good. A little long and can take multiple hours. We went on a very hot day, which made it less enjoyable. We were also not allowed in certain areas because Andre Rieu was in town, so we couldn't go to one of the spots.
Nice to learn about Maastricht by playing a game. It's easy with the smarthphones For all ages Fun for young and old
The Maastricht City Guide experience was really good. Our Guide Jos was really funny and informative. I and my colleagues really loved talking and walking around exploring with him.
It is a fun way of exploring the city in a veery relaxed way. Although I live near Maastricht, the trip took me to little streets and beautiful places I had never seen or never realized what it was when I saw it in the passed.
We had a lovely day! The game showed you places in Maastricht you normally wouldn't go. We had nice weather and not all the area's were in the crowded places of Maastricht
A great way to have fun while exploring the city! It was informative, entertaining and interactive with the environment.
We had a nice day in Maastricht with a group of friends. The translation from dutch to german was okay, but needs improvement (we think it was translated with google). Super was that you can discover places outside the tourist route, not so nice was when questions were asked about Dutch actors. We liked the questions where you could search for the answer the best, the questions with timers not so much. We would still try qula again in other cities.
We had a super day in Maastricht. First time with Qula but we loved it. You will get to see the city by doing games and also get some knowledge about the history of the city. I would reccomend it to everybody. Small or big group doesn't matter.
A lovely way to see the city in an other light and being 'pushed' to walk around. The site is well put together. Great historical information.
Was a nice way to see different parts of Maastricht. Came across some nice areas that had not seen before. Nice for friends and family.
A good idea, but some answers were not clear enough, and some you couldn t find them in place but need to guess. The tour was nice.
I, myself am dutch, but I played this game together with my boyfriend who speaks english. By that we chose the english version, but sadly some parts of the game were not well translated and it was pretty clear that the dutch version was translated by google translate, because some sentences just didn't make sense. Also 4 questions were about dutch things, which a non dutch person could not have known the answer to. For that we can't recommend this game in another language than dutch and it is definetly not worth 31 euro.
What a wonderful city and what a lovely views. Maastricht is beautiful and with this tour you’ll be guided through all the cool spots in town. Fun facts and funny time assignments makes this tour complete.
a good treasure hunt where you also get to know another part of Maastricht. Questions are not too difficult, not too easy.
Great city tour with amazing spots.
Super fun city tour through Maastricht. Seen beautiful places with fun facts you wouldn't have seen otherwise.
As Maastrichtians, we already knew that Maastricht is a super beautiful city, but still we have been in a single place that was unknown to us. In terms of questions we also knew quite a lot but still learned something from it. Was nice that everyone in the group could play on their own mobile. So I recommend it!
Very nice activity to do with the family (friends / colleagues). Even in a city we know, new things discovered!
Nice trip through Maastricht. I think it's okay to squeak that you're almost on location. We start at 50 meters and not 100 meters.
Great tour, beautiful spots.
A very nice tour; we saw some lovely corners of the city that we surely would never have visited otherwise. A small downside: a few questions were only solvable for Dutch people (for example, a series that is filmed and aired there was sought, and in another question, a famous person was sought who is likely to be known in the Netherlands). However, that did not diminish our enjoyment. We had a great tour of the city and would gladly book again for the next city.
The city trail was well organized. The correspondence between Qula and us went well. Got a good explanation. The activity was neatly set up. Very educational, fun and enjoyable.
There were nice places headed but unfortunately no good tasks. Ma had to guess a lot, especially for families who like to search and discover boring times together. Halfway through, we dropped out.
A fun way to discover the lesser-known places of Maastricht and learn a bit more about the history of the city.
Nice way to discover city
Nice to discover your city in a different way
This is really great. You can explore the city at your own pace and get to places you wouldn't otherwise go so quickly! Just really great!
Very informative and well done. You will discover beautiful unknown places and the puzzles are nice and accessible.
Very nice route in the heart of Maastricht that allows you to discover places we would not have gone! The city is full of beautiful buildings!
Nice city trail done, around the center of Maastricht. Again seen a lot where you would not otherwise go. Also extra nice because of the December month.
Generally a nice offer. But: German translation was unclear in many places. Some questions could not be answered for us non-Dutch. For example, Dutch TV series. Too little background information about individual stations.
We had a very nice day. We played in 2 teams against each other and that makes it even more fun. Highly recommended for everyone.
We know the city well, yet we came to streets we had never been to before. The questions were not too easy either.
We had a wonderful day. Have seen a lot of the city, especially corners we would never have otherwise come to, The questions force you to look closely at what makes you discover even more. The text is not always perfectly translated, but hello, Dutch can usually be understood without a translator. At best, we would have liked a bit more historical background - like an audio track - but this is really moaned at a high level. Thanks to the creators, won't have been our last scavenger hunt.
The scavenger hunt was very entertaining. Although I have visited Maastricht many times, I have gotten to know some new corners. The distance between points is always short, so it doesn't get boring and you learn a lot about the city. The only negative point: The translation is sometimes so poor that the tasks are insoluble. And the questions about Dutch series or singers are insoluble for non-Dutch people. We could only guess.
You can see beautiful landscapes and learn a little history and curiosities from the places I visited. The game worked well, without any setbacks. The translation was good. Perhaps you should place more questions whose answers are in the same places since not everyone has so much knowledge in history.
It was fun! So the children (10/13) also had fun exploring the city. I would recommend it to others! The individual stops are not far apart and can be found easily with the map.
Nice way to explore Maastricht in this way. Despite growing up here, I still learned a lot of things. And the questions on time made it extra exciting of course...
Very nice to get to places where you would never have gone otherwise. We divided it into two parts and it was very nice.
Nice to explore the city in a different way. Too bad the GPS function didn't work. Therefore a small minus.
Super nice way to see the city at your leisure. The most beautiful places pass by. Children also excited by the game/competition element in it. Only the geolocation is not functioning.
Very nice hiking trip. Too bad you couldn't find the answer to some questions at the location and had to guess. It would also be more fun if you had a cliffhanger at the end that completes the search
