Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Ride In Luxor With Hotel Pickup

What I enjoyed most about this experience was how different Luxor looked from the air. We have seen the temples and the Valley of the Kings from the ground, but watching the landscape slowly appear in the first light of the day was something completely different. The balloon ride itself was peaceful and almost surreal. It felt like one of those rare moments when you simply stop taking photos and take everything in. I have done quite a few sightseeing tours over the years, but this one stands out. If you have a couple of free hours in Luxor, I would definitely make room for it.

I’m definitely a night owl and normally hate waking up early, so getting up at 4 AM was not easy 😄 But honestly, it was 100% worth it! The pickup from our hotel was right on time, and everything was very well organized. Watching the balloons inflate as the sun was coming up was an amazing experience in itself. The flight was absolutely breathtaking. Seeing the Nile, Valley of the Kings and ancient temples from above, surrounded by the morning light, was something I’ll never forget. Our pilot was professional and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the flight. We also had plenty of opportunities to take some amazing photos. If you’re visiting Luxor, I highly recommend doing this!

Having booked a Hot Air balloon ride to celebrate our 52yrs of marriage on our first full day in Luxor pick up from our hotel breakfast would be included !! A hot air balloon ride 45-60 mins we would fly over the Valley of the kings and the nile river $190 USD (£146:96 ) and receive a certificate for flying We were very disappointed there was no breakfast the Balloon didn't go very high approx 35mins in the air where as other balloons went much high and further away whereas our balloon stayed very close to where we took off .when we landed we were told to get back in the van other people who travelled withus went else where on speaking to those other people that had only paid £24:00 each yet they received exactly what we did however there expectation was just for a balloon ride different from ours which showed in the prices charged . Along with ourselves who had paid a much higher price There was an American gentleman who had paid $109USD for a for a 10hr trip but they wanted an extra $20USD from him after he'd already paid just like us he was taken back to his hotel I tried to get intouch with the company VIator without success so I sent an email to Booking .com who we booked the trip with And Viator said that no compensation would be given We were well and truely ripped off £146:96 paid that others paid £24:00

We got picked up from our hotel around an hour and a half earlier, then transported to the West Bank via motor boat, then another short 5 minute transfer by bus to the balloon departure area and our balloon was waiting for us inflated and ready to go. The air time was around 45 minutes, the sunrise was great and the landing was perfect. We were then transported back to the hotel by bus. Total time taken was around 3 hours. Professional cameras are not allowed, although this information was not published anywhere beforehand. Action cameras and phones are OK to use.

I had booked for sunrise 4:30am slot for my family and paid extra for it but the activity provided cheated and gave us second slot post sunrise even after questiong they stopped responding. Our entire trip and experience was spoiled due to them and they charged us so much

The Legacy tour did this experience for us on Christmas Day very memorable and enjoyable. Everything went very well as they contacted and explained us the day before. They picked up us on time and we enjoyed the sunrise view over the West Bank Luxor. They took the great photos and videos of us, and shared them with us.

Rising at the crack of dawn. 3 hr trip. The majority spent being ushered/herded onto/off small boat and minibus. Camera crew encouraged joviality for added cost photo package. 30 minutes balloon ride was adequate but not particularly thrilling/exhilarating. This seems to me to mostly to be a photo opportunity impressive views but not particularly enjoyable experience.

The Experience was Fantastic, Ahmed Hamed is very respectful and provided very good service , once we had a pick up issue, responded always even at 4:00 AM. Thanks to Legacy and to him.

We booked two hot-air balloon tickets in Luxor through Legacy Tour and accidentally purchased them for the following day. Since we were leaving Luxor earlier, we immediately tried to contact the agency to cancel, request a refund, or even ask if they could resell the spots (balloon flights are always in high demand). We received absolutely no response. All messages were ignored and every call was rejected. To make things worse, the agency was so disorganized that they mixed us up with two other guests at the hotel, almost sending us on someone else’s booking. Only then did we discover our tickets were for the next day—yet the agency still refused to communicate in any way. Unprofessional, unresponsive, and chaotic. I do not recommend Legacy Tour.

The entire experience was amazing. We were collected at our hotel on time then we collected more guests from a few more hotels. We then had to wait about 20min for Luxor Airport to give the go ahead for the balloons to proceed. After 20 min we headed to the take off area where all the balloons lay waiting for the go ahead. The minute the go ahead was given the field became alive with excitement as balloons are setup and prepare for take off. Our pilot was amazing and showed confidence in his skill. We had an amazing flight and landing! Best experience ever!!

We did the sunrise hot air balloon tour this morning and it was unbelievable — worth getting up at 4:30 AM! Our taxi driver was on time, and although the confirmation from the travel agent only came the evening before (which was a bit worrying at first), it seems to be the normal process. Everything ran smoothly from there. Our guide was friendly, informative, and made us feel completely safe throughout the experience. We waited until around 6:15 AM, when all balloons were given the go-ahead to start inflating. The flight lasted around 40–50 minutes, and the views were breathtaking — empty temples in the morning light, old residential areas, and the Nile😊 We had a safe landing, and the vehicle was already waiting to pick us up. The whole operation was extremely well-coordinated. This was a bucket-list experience and one we would highly, highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

The hot air balloon ride was the absolute highlight of our trip! We had an experienced pilot who made the whole flight feel calm and safe. The teamwork between everyone involved was excellent, and even up in the air the deiver shared interesting information and made the experience even more special. It was also very easy to take stunning photos from the balloon, views you will never forget!

The flight itself lasted around 45 minutes, offering breathtaking views and a calm, unforgettable ride. Our captain was outstanding — skilled, confident, and reassuring — and the landing was absolutely perfect. After the flight, they drove us back to our hotel so we could enjoy the rest of our morning relaxed and happy. We wholeheartedly recommend this experience — it’s absolutely worth it!

Legacy Tour provides a competitive price experience, + good service. They even take photos of you for free, which is a paid service with other tour agency. The pick up driver came slightly before the allocated time, so as to get us there timely. The ride was approximately 45 mins, with the sunrise as the backdrop. Highly recommended.

We booked for SUNRISE hot air balloon as they advertised and the pickup time from the hotel at 5:30am as agreed to see sunrise but the driver came 30 minutes late and we called them, texted them but no one reply that caused, we missed the sunrise. When the hot air balloon flew up, the sun is already beyond the horizon. And there is nothing compensating from company. For captain, he was excellent service and entertaining. He gave all informations and safely landed.

Very amazing experience. Pick up was on time. They found our group and kept us engaged with pictures pending when the balloon was blown. All pictures were given without any extra cost and they were very lovely pictures with just the right angles. Drop off was also prompt. I definitely recommend!!!

If you were to ask me what my most memorable experience in Luxor was, I'd say the hot air balloon tour. Taking photos with the balloons rising at sunrise and then climbing into one of them to gaze upon the Temple of Hatshepsut was a truly memorable experience. Legacy Tour announced an 8:00 PM pickup time the night before and picked me up at dawn the next day, taking photos with a photographer and actively taking care of everyone. I was very satisfied with the low price and being able to board the first available time slot. I stayed at the Iberotel Hotel, and they even offered me a ferry ride back, saying it would be faster. They were also very responsive to my WhatsApp inquiries and didn't ask for any additional tips. I highly recommend the Legacy Tour.

We joined their Hot air balloon trip. It was a great experience. Pick up was on time, special photographers were provided for us. We took lots of pictures, plus point on that cause they didn’t chase for tips. Flight captain had great control, certificate was provided in the end. On the way back we were taken by a boat, again nobody asked for extra cash surprisingly! Overall amazing experience with mesmerising view of the valley of kings.

It’s my first time taking hot air ballon, surprised by the service and arrangement offered by this tour operator - Legacy tour! I’m a solo traveler and supposed to go experience the Hot Air ballon on May 18, unfortunately the tour operator notified at night of May 17 that it’s cancelled due to the unstable weather and they have it rescheduled on May 19. The operator is very responsible and let me know the pick up time on WhatsApp. The pick up was super punctual! Go directly to the spot where the hot air ballon is before sunrise. While we are waiting, the operator has arranged a photographer and we took many stunning pictures! Super fun and memorable! After the ballon ride, the operator arranged car and deliver the guests back to the hotel. Overall, this operator is trustworthy and offered reasonable price for the first batch of ballon ride! Highly recommended!

Must try, beautiful experience. They picked us up and dropped us back to the hotel early in the morning. They took photos before and we started at 5am from hotel. The captain of the hotel air balloon was very good and the view was so good. Highly recommend to all tourists.

My original booking got canceled due to a glitch with Viator. Legacy tour contacted me to rebook and took care of it. The experience was top notch from booking, pickup, flight, snacks pre-flight, and drop off. They even offered free photos of the flight. We were able to secure first flight and see the sunrise. They were responsive on WhatsApp 24/7 to answer any questions. Highly recommend this company.

I do not recommend this company that tries to manipulate me by saying that if he does not find my accommodation, I was not going to do the activity when it was clear and precise. Thanks to my host for calling for me that morning, a driver picked me up when it was not my driver. What communication this company has with their drivers.

It was called the "Sunrise Tour", but in reality we couldn't get on the balloon before the sun rose. We were able to board after the sun had already risen, which is very different from the tour description. In addition, even though the tour company did not contact us in advance, "I've been in touch with you many times and you haven't responded." "Send me a passport copy ASAP." I received a message out of the blue. I also checked my spam email and did not receive any advance notification. I didn't hear from him, even though it said I would let him know the night before when the hotel pick-up was confirmed, and it wasn't until I WhatsApped him that morning that he told me the pick-up was at 5:30. But we're not actually receiving it. I asked the same tour participants and they said they were in the same situation as me. A 5:30 pickup in December won't make it to sunrise. The site lists it as a 4:30 pickup, which means you should be ready for Sunrise in that time. There was no explanation for why I was late. Whether or not we could see Sunrise or not, before luck, I felt that there were major problems with the management’s liaison system and time management.

Wonderful balloon experience throughout Luxor, seeing from above both the main monuments (valley of kings, colossus of memnon, temple of Hatshepsut...) and the sugarcane crops seen from above. Experience highly recommended.

We were 3 people and the truth the hotel pickup all right I recommend to go warm because it is very cold in the mornings and you have to wait a long time there, the only bad thing is that I booked to see the sunrise and the balloon rose when it had already dawned. Otherwise very nice experience

We went on a balloon tour and had an amazing experience! I was also happy that they took so many photos with their cameras that I was able to keep the memories. It is a sunrise tour, but you can't see the sunrise rising. Itinerary says 4:30 pickup, but I got in touch the day before at 6:00 pickup. I got worried and chatted with him to see if I could see the sunrise, and he said he could because it was a 6:30 flight. But on the day, at 6 o'clock, the pickup didn't come, we waited for others, and the sun eventually rose. I asked the tour operator about it and they said they didn't know. I asked other tour participants if they had booked a third flight on site. (They said the earliest flight was expensive because of the popularity of 4:30 pickup.) I was assigned to a late flight even though I booked it because I liked the 4:30 and Sunrise itinerary. Too bad. When I try to contact Viator, the only contact I have is my phone number. On the way back he was dropped off at a different place and told he could walk. When I looked into it, he walked for 10 minutes, and when I got angry that he wanted me to drop him off at the place I picked him up in the morning, he gave me a proper ride. The ballooning experience was good, but I don't recommend it if you want to see the sun rise. You shouldn't use Viator to make reservations.

I booked it in Agoda, and I have an option at 4:30. But the pick-up was at 5:10, and I didn't see the sunrise on the heater. At 6:15 all the heaters started blowing into Burun. After a while, I went back to Burun. It was nice for the pilot to be so kind and slow to observe Golgotha. In the meantime, I was able to cross the Nile River in Pickdraw City, which was very expensive.
