Luxor Travels planned a custom itinerary for us (specific tombs, Hatshepsut and Medinet Habu) which was thoughtfully executed and completely seamless. Hassan was a fantastic tour guide: he is incredibly knowledgeable of the history, mythology and kept us well-entertained through all of the monuments; as well, he provided great suggestions for which tombs to visit within the valley. All private transfers were on-time and stress-free. Would strongly recommend regardless of your knowledge level of Egyptian history.

You will get the chance to be face to face with his royal mummy in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings the Tomb of King Tut. The tomb of Tutankhamun is the only tomb in Valley of the Kings that was discovered nearly intact in 1922. The discoverer of his tomb was Howard Carter. Tut's famous golden mask is on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, but here you have the opportunity to be amazed at the royal mummy of the young king. After visiting the tombs you will be transported to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el Bahari),
Enjoy an unforgettable day exploring the mystery of Tutankhamun, the most famous king in the world. This young king from the New Kingdom was around 10 years old when he ascended the throne and died when he was only 19. You will get the chance to be face to face with his royal mummy in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings. Your Egyptologist tour guide will be with you to take you back in time to unveil the mystery of this famous pharaoh. In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in central Luxor or harbor by an air-conditioned vehicle for a full guided trip of about 5 hours. First you will be transported to the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank of Luxor. This ancient necropolis is a must-see for Luxor travelers. There you visit four royal tombs, including the Tomb of Ramses, the Tomb of Horemheb, the Tomb of Merenptah and of course the Tomb of King Tut. The tomb of Tutankhamun is the only tomb in Valley of the Kings .
The tomb of Ramesses III, designated as KV 11, is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. It has been known since antiquity, the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) and Ramses before the gods. Unusual here are the secular scenes, in the small side rooms of the entrance corridor, showing foreign tributes, such as highly detailed pottery imported from the Aegean, the royal armoury, boats and, in the last of these side chambers, the blind harpists that gave the tomb one of its alternative names: ‘Tomb of the Harpers’
Tomb of King Ramesses lX was the third pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. His name prior to assuming the crown was Amonhirkhopshef. He was the fifth son of Ramesses III and was appointed to the position of crown prince by the twenty-second year of his father's reign when all four of his elder brothers predeceased his promotion to crown prince . The tomb has so much colour and detail even the ceiling above the sarcophagi with its goddess Nut stretching across the space. The sarcophagus is one of the largest in the valley, even though some of the paintings have deteriorated this is one of the most decorated.
After visiting the tombs you will be transported to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el Bahari), the only woman ever to reign over Egypt as Pharaoh. This queen was an ancestor of King Tutankhamun and belonged to the same dynasty.
In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the demiurge of Memphis, god of craftsmen and architects. In the or simply in its falcon form of the new deity, began to be placed in tombs to accompany and protect the dead on their journey to the West of Luxor .Tomb 8, which is located in the Valley of the Kings, was the burial place of the Pharaoh Merneptah and is the model of royal tombs Merneptah was a son of Ramesses II and Queen Isis-Nofret.the tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in 1903. Of coursethere is a material decrease in the number of lateral rooms, and a dramatic increase in the height of the corridors and rooms. He did away with the jogged axis used since the time of Horemheb and instead built the entire tomb on a single axis. Also, for the first time, the entrance was made considerably wider than earlier tombs .

Everything about this Valley of the Kings tour was perfect. Our guide Hassan was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and organized. He gave us clear explanations before we entered the tombs and made the history of ancient Egypt come alive. Excellent, modern, very clean, and comfortable air conditioning car . Seamless experience from start to finish. Highly recommended
Really enjoyed the trip. Hassan our guide was really helpful, informative and friendly. Would definitely recommend this experience while in Luxor.
Absolutely fantastic morning with Khalid. His knowledge of Egyptology was incredible and he made himself available to answer any questions at all. Highly recommended trip and a super friendly guy!
We had an incredible day with Khalid giving us a wonderful guided tour through Luxor’s greatest historical sites - from the Karnak Temple, to the Valley of the Kings and Tutankhamen’s tomb and to the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Khalid was very knowledgeable and explained the history and importance of each site with great detail and enthusiasm. Lunch was also included and we enjoyed a delicious traditional Egyptian meal. The day was a 10/10 experience and would absolutely recommend!
Had an amazing time and seen so many interesting & beautiful places. Absolutely mind blowing! Abdul & the driver took very good care of all our needs, and helped us ensure our itinerary was optimised. Having already spent 6 months or so in Egypt ahead of the tour, found some of the pricing over the top, but this is seen globally at tourist attractions. Overall… Fantastic!!! Highly recommended. Thanks so much for all the assistance.
Fantastic guide! Very knowledgable and friendly. I would highly recommend!
Hassan and our driver Hamoda were both excellent, polite and very helpful. They made the day very interesting and explained the history very clearly to us.Highly recommend them for any future visitors.
Six very pleasant and profitable hours with team Hassan (guide) and Allam (driver). Very friendly persons. Very good explanations from Hassan. Visited 4 tombs in the valley of kings plus Hatshepsut Temple and the amazing Madinat Habu
We had a wonderful experience with Hassan at the West Bank in Luxor! He has so much wisdom about the history and amazing advices to choose what tombs to see in the Valley of the Kings. We recommend this tour!
Hassan was an excellent guide! He provided a great 'big picture' look at Egyptian history that we found incredibly interesting. We would have enjoyed a few more details on the tomb decorations, but we were very happy with the tour overall. Hassan's helpfulness and knowledge made for a very satisfying experience!
Hassan took time to tailor the tour to our needs. He was extremely knowledgeable, explaining the history in an engaging and enjoyable way, perfect
Fantastic tour with Khalid very informative and very interesting would highly recommend Khalid for anyone interested in visiting Luxor and yes Khalid Arsenal are into the semi finals 😁thanks again
Our guide Khalid was very punctual & informative during morning tour. Easy to understand facts with humour. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him
Our tour with Hassan was fantastic- he was so charismatic and had lots of great information! He took us through the whole experience making life super easy. The driver was also fantastic - no waiting times and a super simple drop off/ pick up at the hotel! Would highly, highly recommend for the price!
We have seen great things today (valley of the kings,Karnak temple,…).Khalid Eltayeb are a fantastic guide and very good Egiptian history.Great day today
Hassan (and his driver, forgive me I’m terrible with names!) were simply awesome. They collected us bang on time, after great communication and took us on our tour. Hassan was great at explaining the history behind this wonderful place. He was also a huge help navigating queues and ticket offices. It would have been much harder alone. He was fantastic with my family, engaging well with the kids and recognising when my youngest was too tired. A proper family man, whose great for family visits.
Absolutely incredible day out at the valley of the kings and the temple of Habu. Hassan was our guide and his knowledge was incredible we all learnt so much, Hassan also kept it fun for the kids! Great communication regarding pick up and very accommodating as we asked to add on Habu temple to the existing tour which was no problem at all. Would highly recommend!!
Picked up dead on the time were told, the journey there was full of information with Khalid our tour guide giving us all the history and details. He was very knowledgeable with any questions we had throughout the trip. We also paid more to go into pretty much all the tombs as your only visiting once. Once again he was happy to assist and would wait outside the tombs for us and give us information about each tomb we went into. I would highly recommend it was a great tour!
Our tour guide was Khalid Eltayeb. From the outset, he gave us a history of the beginnings of the formation of Egypt bringing it right up to date. His knowledge and enthusiasm was infectious that we couldn't help but ask questions to learn more about the tombs and the Kings in the Valley. The trip did not include tickets because you can choose which tombs to visit. You also have to pay for the electric buggies to get you from the main entrance to the Valley entrance. Avoid sitting in the front with the driver as they pester you for a tip. We visited six tombs in total. Ramses II, Merenptah, Tutankhamun, Rameses V & VI, Seti I, Ramses IX. Each were fascinating to see. Guides are not permitted to enter any of the tombs, but Khalid briefed on who the Kings were and the era they lived. He suggested areas within the tombs to take photos and then he would inform us of their significance. Merenptah and Seti I are steep. So coming back out will be a bit strenuous. However the workmanship of the hieroglyphs and the colours are incredible. And stopping every now and then and remember that humans precision dug the tunnels and chambers by hand is mind-blowing. We moved on the Hatshepsut Temple which on first sight is unbelievable. it's a bit of a long walk up the two ramps to get to the top and the rooms of the temple. But Khalid guided us around, explaining and pointing out the different sections of the structure and the carvings and what they represented. Khalid then left us to wander around ourselves before meeting back up. Our last visit was to the Collosi of Memnon. Not as impressive as the tombs or Hatshepsut's temple but still significant. We can highly recommend this tour and if you manage to get Khalid, you won't leave without knowing more than when you started.
Good trip to see West Bank Valley of the Kings and the Queens. Khalid was our guide, good chap with lots of ancient Egyptian knowledge friendly & Cheerful.
We had a really nice tour to the West side of the Nile including the Valley of Kings and the Memnon statues. The guide was very friendly and competent, giving us many interesting information about the ancient times. We can fully recommend this trip! Sarah with her husband and two kids (6 and 4 years old)
Hassan was a fantastic guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and did a wonderful job explaining everything and providing background information so that we could better understand everything we were seeing. We had a wonderful day and would highly recommend a tour with him!
Hassan was a wonderful tour guide. Very personable and intelligent on a vast range of topics. He took time to explain the history of everything we saw, told us what to look for, and made the excursion easy to follow. Would highly recommend him for your Luxor tours.
This tour is highly recommended! We took a balloon ride booked through the same company so our guide met us afterwards. The tour was well organized. Our Egyptologist guide Abdul, spoke good English and also good archaeological background. He is knowledgeable and learned the history of people who lived in the areas of the tomb sites. In the Valley of the Kings, we indicated that we want to see SETI I which is an extra cost and King Tut. SETI I IS WORTH THE EXTRA FEE. The hieroglyphs are vibrant and detained. Abdul chose the other 3 tombs for us which we all love, especially Ramses III. He explained what we will see inside using postcards (which we purchased later) so it was nice to hunt the hieroglyphics and know their meaning. He gave us enough time to explore each tombs on our own. We also had time for quick snack break as it got really hot inside the tombs. Don’t expect to eat a full sit down meal during the tour especially if you decide to visit 5 tombs which can be time consuming. Overall, very happy with this tour, nice driver and excellent tour guide Abdul.
A wonderful private half day tour to Valley of the Kings with our guide Hassan! He was very attentive and a passionate story teller. The temples we visited were beautiful! We also did Dendara Temple in the morning as an additional tour! Highly recommend Hassan and our driver for being so accommodating and for a smooth journey. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special!
Exactly what we wanted and needed plus a little extra. Good communication before the trip. Pickup on time with a brandnew minivan. Pickup on time Lots and lots of information. I really recommend this tour with Abod Ali Perfect half day tour.
We decided a last moment trip from Hurghada to Luxor to experience the beauty of the ancient Egyptian culture. Since it was always my mother’s dream to see it. I contacted Luxor Travels and they were able to schedule us for the next day, which was the only possibility left for us before our vacation would end. Due to a technical issue from my side I wasn’t able to fulfill the online payment for the reservation. The manager made an exception to confirm our travel by the kindest words “don’t worry we will make your mother’s dream come true”. We were punctually picked up in the morning by an amazing driver by the name of Allam. Normally I don’t sleep when a stranger is driving, but he was driving so smooth and safely that I felt myself comfortable to nap an hour. Upon arrival in Luxor we were welcomed by a wonderful guide who’s name is Hassan. He really made our day complete! We visited the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut temple. He advised us another place called Habu temple which we added on top since we had still some time and energy left. He was extremely helpful and it was inspiring to hear his knowledge about the ancient culture with a good dose of humor. All with all it was a delightful experience, a top service and I would recommend them to anyone! Whenever we will return to Luxor I will definitely ask them again for Hassan as a guide!
The valley of the kings cannot be missed and Seti I tomb in particular was well worth it. Hassan was a truly excellent guide - answering all of our questions, keeping the energy going during transit, offering plenty of flexibility for extra activities and adding that extra flourish. Would recommend.
Abdul picked us up from our hotel on time and gave us a lot of information about Luxor, the tombs and ancient Egypt as a whole. Unfortunately guides aren't permitted in the tombs but he prepared us well beforehand so we knew what to look for ahead of time. This provided valuable insights and made the experience more memorable
This tour should be at the top of anyone's itinerary when visiting Luxor. My wife and I travelled to Luxor for the holidays and took this tour on New Year's Day 2026. Our tour guide, Abdul, was fantastic and made the entire experience comfortable from the start. First, he arrived at our hotel at 7:59am for an 8:00am scheduled pick up time. Next, Abdul clearly and efficiently laid out for us what we could expect from the day and gave us the freedom to choose our own itinerary. We ended up spending the morning/early afternoon with Abdul at Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Temple of Ramses III at Medinet Habu. At each stop, Abdul not only effortlessly guided us around but also provided us with a series of unforgettable history lessons on Ancient Egypt, Luxor's past, and the treasures we were about to see. The transportation was a breeze, and Abdul made sure to give us ample time at each stop. This ensured we did not feel rushed at any point during the tour, and allowed us to truly capture everything we were seeing. If you are considering a tour to the East Bank of Luxor to see the Valley of the Kings and other amazing gems, you must absolutely choose Abdul as your tour guide and take this tour. You will not be disappointed.
Abod Ali was a great guide with a clear passion for ancient Egypt. He gave us just enough information (we've been traveling Egypt for a week so a lot of the basics we had) without overdoing it. He is a professor at Luxor University in hieroglyphics/language. The tombs were crowded due to tourist high season, so he gave us explanations first, then stayed in the cafe so we had time to explore independently. The alabaster shop was a bit cheesy and I wouldn't have bought anything except I needed to buy a Christmas gift for someone.
Great guide (Hassan) and very nice driver (Alam). Flexible re timing and very punctual. They also fulfilled our wish to have an extra stop at Hatshepsut Temple for an extra fee of 30 USD. Would always go with them again!
Great experience. Abdul was a very knowledgeable and informative. It made the Valley of the Kings much more enjoyable to have Abdul with us. Would definitely recommend.
We had an amazing tour with Abdul … he was so friendly and made the experience thoroughly enjoyable! His other job is teaching and this shines through … he’s so good at explaining things and saying things in an interesting way … we even had a little quiz at the end! He clearly loves his job and comes across as very enthusiastic, happy and excited about showing tourists round! Would definitely recommend!
Our guide Abod was truly amazing — very passionate and incredibly knowledgeable about Ancient Egypt. We had such an enjoyable time, and he even went beyond our expectations. I would 100% recommend him!
Couldn't have asked for a better guide. We were lucky enough to have Amin as out guide and his knowledge and story telling was the best we have experienced. Cant thank him enough. The driver (sorry we forgot your name) was also giving information on the way to the sights
This was our first trip to Africa, Egypt, etc. we are world travelers but anyone who has been to this neck of woods knows, it can be a little confusing. So we looked on TripAdvisor for a highly rated tour company. That’s when I came across Luxor Travels. I booked the tour for the Valley of the Kings somewhat last minute. Luxor Travels immediately sent a confirmation and explained what to expect. Very clear and amazing communications! Next, our tour guide Hassan reached out to me via WhatsApp. I let him know we would be landing from Cairo at 8:45am instead of early (private tour was slated for 8am). Hassan put our worries aside with his easy going attitude. No problem, we start when we get there he reaffirmed! Luxor Travels and Hassan also rearranged pickup and dropoff from the air port last minute. We did have to walk outside the gates on pickup because we didn’t give Luxor Travels enough time to get authority for airport pickup. But communications were absolutely excellent and it was easy. The van was air conditioned. The driver drove safe. Hassan was so cheerful and friendly. His passion for Luxor (his home as well), really shined throughout the full day as he was teaching us so many things about the tombs. Not only was he very informative but he really made the whole tour fun. He educates, he jokes, and you really feel as if you are making a friend as well. After an excellent trip in the Valley of Kings (he did a great job recommending which tombs were worth looking at and what order to conserve your energy), he recommended for a reasonable fee to see Karnak and Luxor temples. We were hesitant at first, but he really sold them with his passion. He said, “seriously.. you came all this way and you aren’t going to want to miss the temples. They are amazing.” I’m so glad he did, they are INCREDIBLE! I saw the Greek Necropolis in January, and those ruins didn’t hold a candle to these massive ruins!!! Do not miss out on them. The towering statues, colorful writings on the walls were mind blowing. In between the Valley of Kings and the temples, we had lunch at a local restaurant. They took great care of us and the food was delicious. I recommend the kofta or beef. The chicken was slightly dry for my liking. Overall, I cannot recommend Luxor Travels and Hassan enough. (request Hassan if he’s available!!!!!). Hassan created memories for a life time. We didn’t go through TripAdvisor for the pyramids of Giza outside Cairo. They tried to scam us with insane tips (80 usd more than the norm, luckily I caught on and did quick research). Luxor Travels is very legit. Hassan is fun, professional, and very knowledgeable!! Don’t miss out!
Amazing tour!!! Khalid was an amazing tour guide. He was very informative about Egyptian history, the tombs, and all the sites. We were so impressed with all the information made visiting the tombs so much more worthwhile!!! Highly recommend this tour with Khalid.
Hassan was an exceptional tour guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about Egyptian history. The mini bus was nice, and Hassan made sure we were comfortable and understanding throughout the tour. I would definitely recommend the hot air balloons!!! Big highlight. Very pleased with Hassan’s service and the West Bank tour.
We planned a marathon day with Hassan as our guide and Ramadan as our driver. First to the Valley of the Kings, where Hassan gave us excellent advice about which tombs to see. We were traveling with an eight year old (a fairly precocious one, mind), and Hassan kept all of us including her engaged in the stories of Egyptian history. He even gave us an option to hear more or stop. We all asked to continue, and we all learned so much in a fun way. From the Valley we went to Deir el Bahri, which has been restored, but is still very interesting. Hassan took us to an alabaster factory, which we didn’t request but did enjoy. We could have opted out if we had wanted to. He took us to a very good restaurant with local Egyptian food, which we also enjoyed. We then asked to go to Karnak! He must have been exhausted, but we also really enjoyed that experience. He taught us to read a few hieroglyphs. All in all, Hassan and Ramadan did a wonderful job as our guide and driver. I would trust them and choose him again every time.
We had a great tour through the Valley of the Kings, King Tut’s tomb and the Temple of Hatshepsut. Our guide Amin was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all of our questions and gave us time to explore at our own pace. We’d highly recommend this experience!
We had a wonderful tour this morning with Ayad to the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, the statues of Mmemmon & the House of Howard Carter. Everything was so well organised including initially contacting the company to make the booking and the air conditioned transfers (needed in the 39 degree heat). But what made it very special was how likeable, courteous and knowledgable we found Ayad and how personalised he made the whole experience feel. We would definitely recommend using Luxor Travels, the whole thing was a joy from start to finish.
Amin our tour guide is a knowledgeable guide. Honestly he knew more information than the other guides in Luxor. Sidenote **book this tour the same time you book Valley of the Kings it’s in the same place. Save time and money
picked up on time good driver guide well informed and helpfull interesting experiance would do this again
Great person your with Tahir. Lots of information and a great way to see Casablanca on a time budget
Today July 7th I took this amazing tour visit ting the west and the east sites and with another temple Medinet Habu, our amazing guide Hassan never rushed us, he’s extremely knowledgeable, extremely friendly and patient. In one day my family and I visited the tombs, the valley of the kings and temples. I’ll recommend to take this tour with our favorite guide Hassan and our driver Alaam. Awesome!
It was just amazing to be there, a place of legends , it’s hot, cream up and take a hat. We went in May 24 it was pretty quiet, so we could take our time. Great guide, fully recommended
Hassan is a great tour guide, every questions were well answered and the tour was entertaining. We had a great time.
The guide was excellent, very knowledgeable, flexible, and kind. A whole day tour seeing amazing sites. Great value!
