We booked a tour to Aswan with Reflections. The tour itself was really nice, but there were some misunderstandings in the organization, and the information provided by the company was not always clear. For example, the tour was supposed to be private, but there were two cars, and one guide had to switch between them. Despite this, the day went well in the end, and everything planned was completed. What truly made the experience great was our guide, Hassan Maghripy, and our driver, Ahmed. Ahmed was an excellent driver, and we felt safe and comfortable throughout the entire journey. Hassan was very knowledgeable, kind, and always patient. He went out of his way to make sure we had the full experience despite the company’s organizational challenges, and his attitude made a big difference in how the day turned out. Thanks to Hassan and Ahmed, the Aswan program was successful, and the trip ended on an excellent note.

Booked private tour to Aswan 1. Not private, we were with another couple who although lovely this was not as booked. 2. Guide didn’t have a clue of our itinerary and we had to hand him a list. 3. No water was provided (as stated) and the guide told us he wasn’t giving us any as he didn’t get paid enough 4. Guide said felucca trip couldn’t be done as he wasn’t paying. In the end he called the operator and they agreed to do it. 5. The guide took us to both temples (great), the Aswan dam and unfinished obelisk without a break for water. At this time 8 1/2 hours after being picked up we had to actually beg for us to have water. We happily paid for water as we felt so ill - after all over 8 hours in 30c heat is very dangerous. 6. He then said Do you want food here or back in Luxor! We received our food at 16.30 not in the middle of the day as advertised. All through the day the guide moaned about the amount he was paid and the first think he said to us was we need a tip - he even suggested $20 dollars per person for both him and the driver. We normally tip at the end of a trip but he kept pestering and even said on the boat trip - give me my tip now as I can’t pay the boat! His English was so bad we gave just couldn’t understand him at all, in fact the drivers English was much better. After the lunch at 4.30 we were supposed to go on the felucca but we’d both had enough and asked just to be taken back to Luxor. We then had to pay another 500EGP to be taken back a faster way. After paying £230 for the not private trip, having to beg for what was supposedly included, we think this extra to get home was a bit extreme. The guide Hussain I would rate as 0, hard to understand apart from his constant requests for money off us. The driver Ahmed was the only good part of the trip and according to Hussain he received no pay!!!!! Sadly if we had a good guide who knew what we’d paid for, could speak English, had the actual private tour we’d paid for, had water! and had lunch mid trip not as an afterthought then things may have been better. Worst trip we’ve ever been on and we’re really experienced travellers.
Everything went smoothly and as advertised. We only had to pay 500egp (for both of us) for tolls, otherwise the excursion would have taken 5+ hours drive more through the free roads. Considering the price of the excursion, this should have been included. Otherwise only tipping should be considered when budgeting for this, and also if you will want drinks with your lunch since we didn't get water either (we spent 300+400egp on drinks in our breaks). It sounded like the communication between the tour company and the driver/both guides was lacking, they were constantly asking us where we were going and what had we already paid for. I recommend printing the receipt with the full itinerary and inclusions, you will need to show them. On the plus side, Edfu and Philae were outstanding. The driver and the car were both phenomenal. We are happy.
What an experience! Our guide Barry and our driver (sorry, I forget his name) kept us well informed, feeling safe, and laughing most of the trip. The boat ride and tour of Philai temple was awesome and totally worth the trip from Luxor. And seeing the High Dam and Unfinished Obelisk were added bonuses.
It's a long journey to visit the philae temple and aswan high dam. I feel like the experience is not worth the travel time
An excellent experience our tour guide Barry took us on a great tour of Aswan. His knowledge of the local ecological sites and ancient Egyptian history was excellent and he was very friendly and accommodating. Our driver was also great and looked after us very well throughout the whole day.
Great Experience, driver and guide were excellent. We visited a lot of places and we had lunch at old cataract hotel, 100 percent recommended
This is a good tour, but there are constraints on the pickup and drop times as travel periods for foreigners are restricted to daylight hours. Better options of restaurant could have been possible, the restaurant we were taken to could only serve chicken and salad
They driver skipped the major destination, The Temple of Horus in Edfu. We didn't find out until we arrived in Aswan. It wasn't his fault because no one from the tour company told him that he was supposed to stop. We were insistent on seeing Edfu so the guide arranged for us to go back early. We got less than two hours in Aswan, no lunch, and then sat in the car 3 hours to make it to the Temple before it closed. The day was wasted and for what it cost my friend & I are both upset. They refunded us $15 which is honestly more insulting than no refund at all.
The tour was excellent!! My tour guide Barry and driver did an outstanding job and really made the Aswan’s history come alive! This is definitely a history buff’s tour with the Aswan dam and other site. It’s a long drive from Luxor, but a nice change of pace from the city
Hi,We are very happy with the service that we received from REFLECTIONS TRAVELS and our tour guide Barry and driver Yusuf. Travel agency arranged full day road trip from luxor to aswan. We really recommend REFLECTIONS TRAVELS for everyone, who like to visit aswan. Thank you
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The Edfu Temple, Philae Temple, the high dam and the unfinished obelisk were all wonderful and our tour guide and driver were very accommodating.
Temple of Horus and Philai were worth seeing, but the Aswan dam was not quite honestly, it would have been better if the Temple of Kom Ombo had been included instead. The tour guide was very helpful and knowledgeable about the sites and the driver got us there and back safely. It is a long journey there and back. What we did not appreciate was picking up an unwelcome guest on the outbound journey when we went through one of the police check points. We had paid for that private car. It seemed like the driver was forced to take this guy and we felt we couldn't say no either but we should not have been put in that position.
The Reflections Travel day trip to Aswan was our best tour while in Egypt! Barry, our Egyptologist guide, was great—he was well equipped to handle our group’s many questions and tailored the experience to meet our needs and interests. The Edfu and Phila temples, in particular, were breathtaking to visit…some of the best preserved sites we saw while traveling across Egypt. Highly recommend!
Hany was brilliant. Spent the whole time with us, organised entrance tickets to attractions and gave us detailed explanations about each site. He even organised our transfer to the airport from the hotel. I enjoyed the detailed explanations he gave about the drawings, especially at Karnak temple.
We were lucky to have Hany with us for the duration of our trip. He was considerate and flexible with the needs of our group. The tour itself was well organized and the operation was smooth. I would happily recommend and use it for a future trip.
Mohamed Awad was a great guide. He made sure we had water. Took us to the main temples in Luxor. He also took us on a boat ride as we wanted to be on the Nile river. He is very knowledgeable about the history. He took his time and explained everything with patience. He had high energy. He took us to a great spot for lunch which had delicious food. He answered all our questions and it was a great experience. We really enjoyed our day with him. Best guide ever!
We booked 4 tours with this company and all were amazing! We had a lovely and kind guide, Mohamed sayed, who told us so many things about the history and the culture. Absolutely recommend this company!
We had an amazing time and I can recommend this tour. We have seen 2 great tempels (Kom Ombo and Edfu & Esna) which are absolutely fabulous. We departed at 7am from Aswan and arrived in Luxor at about 4pm. Our guide was Mohamed Sayed and I can recommend him as a guide (we had multiple tours with him!). Detailed explanations on the Egyptian art, very good with taking pictures, and he helped us interacting with locals. Our driver was kind and drove in a safe way. The car was clean and comfortable to drive. The best thing about driving from Aswan to Luxor is 1) you see the country side and, 2) you arrive on a different time than all the cruises so the temples are not/way less crowded. Overall, we had a great time and hope you’ll have it as well!
Roshdy was one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had: he did a great job explaining the history and mythology of all of the various temples including Ko Mambo, Edfu, Philae, Luxor and Karnak and in The Valley of the Kings and Queens. He has great attention to detail and patiently answered the many questions that we had and coordinated excellently with the drivers and others to ensure our jam packed schedule and plans ran smoothly. Roshdy was also able to expertly recommend important highlights that we could not miss during our trip. We would thoroughly recommend him as your tour guide in Luxor, Aswan and the many places in between!
In general, I had a great experience throughout the trip. Mohamed Awad was a great tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and very detailed in his explanation for the history behind each temple and the meanings of the symbols found in the temples. Thanks to him, we gained a great deal of understanding for the history and stories behind Edfu & Philae temples. Mohamed was also very kind and took great care of us. First tour guide to ever offer us snacks on the way 😀. The drive was also comfortable and the whole trip was very smooth. Would definitely do it again and recommend it
I want to start by saying OMG. My guide was amazing. He was knowledgeable, flexible, patient and helpful. Every where we went I felt safe and was able to focus on having an amazing time. I would recommend him to anyone. I plan on returning in march. Today I was able to see Aswan - Philae , Luxor Temple ,& the temple of Edfu. Fun packed day with a sunset viewing of Luxor temple - unbelievably satisfied 10 out of 10!!!
My boyfriend and I had a great day with Mohamed awad. He is a very friendly and knowledgeable person Mohamed gave us great insight and information at all the sites his explanations at each site was extremely helpful. He was very kind .we will recomanding Reflction travel and strongly recommend Mohamed awad
When I arrived at Luxor it was strongly recommended that I visit Aswan. At first I was not planning on going, but I decided to schedule this tour. My tour guide, Mahmoud Haggag, demonstrated a vast amount of knowledge on all the locations during this experience (Temple of Philae, High Dam, and Unfinished Obelisk). Mahmoud clearly and patiently explained the history and background. He also answered any questions I had. He provided information beyond what was on the panels in front of the sites. The driver, Hamdy, drove responsibly and safely. Keep in mind that the drive from Luxor to Aswan was about 3 hours each way, Hamdy saved some time with a shorter route. Aswan is a city like no other in Egypt. The Nile River from here was amazing to experience. Aswan is not as crowded as Cairo or Luxor, so the view on the Nile was more calm and serene. If you are in Egypt, do a tour of Aswan. It is pricey, but any once-in-a-lifetime experience would be worth the cost.
Driver and guide were great and friendly. Fellucca boat ride was nice. Aswan was a nice enough town. Though the drive from Luxor to Aswan was pretty long there and back (started from 5 am and got back around 8 pm). If you want to catch Luxor and Aswan on the very same trip, then a cruise would be more advisable.
The most intriguing part of this experience was the boat ride in Aswan to Philae temple. This was the second time that we have ever been on a boat this small with the water so close that we could touch it and the first time was two days earlier, so that was a little bit scary. Mahmoud (Haggag) our guide was a good sport about everything and we are looking forward to using his service again in the future
This was an awesome (and very long) tour! We only had one day to see Aswan because we did not want to switch hotels from Luxor, and this was the best way to do it. Roshdy is a great guide, very knowledgeable, and gave us a nice balance of guided time and free exploration time where he'd leave us be to check out what interested us. Also suggested adding the Nubian Village, which wound up super fun. If you only have one day to do Aswan and you're staying in Luxor, definitely consider this tour!
Excellent guide and driver provide best possible experience! Would highly recommend especially for solo traveler
Exploring Aswan guided by Roshdy was a lot of fun. We learned so much about the history and culture. We appreciated the flexibility a lot to tailor some of the stops on the tour and being able to visit the Nubian Village which was a highlight for us. Transportation was very spacious with AC — a great respite from the heat and long drive from Luxor
i had the best experience with this tour company Hany was my tour guide he was very knowledgeable on everything. showed me thing that you would miss if you were on your own . Most friendliest guide. Air conditioning car pick up and droid from hotel in luxor. if there was a 10 star ⭐️ rating i would of gave him that . Total recommend this company. come back in october again
The whole tour was great. We were picked up at our Hotel on time and we travelled in a comfortable car to Aswan. Our tour guide was Hany (Honey) who is a very enjoyable person to spend the day with, very light hearted, knowledgeable and a great photographer! It was good to have all the entry tickets included so we didn't have to worry with buying tickets at every place we visited making for a much more relaxed experience! Through the day we even learnt some Arabic!! We highly recommend Hany and the Aswan day tour!
Today (01/01/2021) we took a guided tour from Luxor to Aswan with our guide Haysam. We had a very good experience. The guide arrived at the hotel exactly on time. During the trip he made us feel safe and welcomed. The facts and stories he shared were interesting and he answered our questions and explained things. There was no time pressure and he spent with us as long as we wanted on the sights and we made stops when we wanted. I with my husband liked our tour.
First of all, to the operator: very good communication, I feel extremely well prepared. The guide and a driver were awaiting me at the hotel on time. A good driver is the be-all and end-all of the road conditions in Egypt. He did an excellent job. Mohsen, the guide, was so much more than just a guide. On the one hand, he had a fabulous knowledge of the sights, was able to answer all questions and had a charming, calm and cordinal manner. In addition, he made the day something very special with little things like coffee. :) I've done a lot of tours in my life. I seldom felt so well looked after even on such a long day.
The tour is long but our tour guide, Roshdy, made this tour truly unforgettable. His passion and excitement for the temples is contagious. He did a great job explaining the history, always made sure we were comfortable whether we were outside or in the car, and as a bonus made for a great photographer. He made sure were taken care of every step of the way. After having several tour guides, we quickly realized how lucky we had been to have Roshdy.I highly recommend this tour. It is the perfect way to see Aswan without having to fly there.
By far our best tour while in Luxor. Roshdy is a genuinely nice person with a big heart. He provides the history in the car or at each site, to make sure his guests are comfortable. We highly recommend using him as your tour guide.
Our guide Roshdy was very knowledgeable and informed us about the history of each site we visited. The weather was extremely hot and he was mindful, keeping us in the shade and van whenever possible.
enjoying the great panorama of our blessed the nile river ,enjoying the sight seeing of the amazing history from a well managed nile cruise
I had an amazing and heartwarming full day tour with my tour guide Sayed from Reflection Tour. He was well equipped with knowledge regarding the rich history of each historical site we visited. We felt very comfortable and happy with our decision throughout the entire tour with him. His fun personality kept the tour going smoothly. After a fun day of touring we were served authentic egyptian food at the beautiful Nubian Village that was recommended by Sayed. I would recommend anyone that is heading to Luxor to go for this Day Trip Aswan Tour by Reflection Tour and their amazing and upbeat tour guide Sayed. Knowledge 10/10 Pacing 10/10 Personality 10/10 Enjoyment 100/10
Sayed was super fun and hospitable from the beginning of the very early day till late into the night as the tour was making and end. He was extremely accommodating to our needs. He has great knowledge on the temples edfu and temple Isis as well as the high damn. He brought us on a private felucca ride to the nubian village and had a delicious and huge dinner at the colourful and beautiful nubian village with the most breath taking views. We were extremely fortunate to have Sayed from reflection travel as our short but memorable guide to Aswan. He truly is a Genie. Would recommend 100%.
My group of five was fortunate to have Roshdy as our guide for three days while staying in Luxor. The first two days we spent on the East and West Bank of the Nile and on our third day, Aswan beckoned. Roshy was an excellent guide, his passion for his country and its rich history was obvious. He went out of his way to accommodate all our needs and requests, even arranging an improptu felucca ride on the Nile. Highly recommend Roshdy!
He has a strong passion about the history of his country and it’s obvious that he enjoys sharing this history with visitors. If I can return to Egypt in the future, I would absolutely ask for him as a tour guide again
Private tour to Aswan from Luxor included Temple or Horus at Edfu, High Dam at Lake Nassar, unfinished Obelisk quarry, and boat ride on lake Nassar to Temple of Isis and Philae A very informative trip each temple or site was explained in great detail as to which king and or queen was responsible and then we were led to the most prolific artwork Our guide Rashdy Khodary and driver Alldin were very professional and made sure we were as comfortable as could be Lunch stop was at a nice restaurant that Rashdy was familiar with. It is a long day and roads are not the best (we are in Egypt and it’s to be expected). The van was new an A/C was great. We will definitely seek out Rashdy for our return trip.
Roshdy was a fantastic guide. We had a fun time and learned a lot about the sites along the way. The drive was comfortable and interesting as we passed through small towns and got to see how the people live.
The tour was done to the end and all the sites we visited were amazing, but I felt like I couldn't communicate with the Guide and the company. We communicated beforehand with the 7am meeting, but the driver came at 6am and couldn't eat breakfast slowly. He also says he doesn't know about lunch at an upscale restaurant or the Guide even though the plan includes a yacht, and lunch is served at a £40 Egyptian local fast food restaurant (upscale?). Restaurant??), we were repeatedly asked if the plan really has a yacht (good to have it for the Tripadvisor Team to see) I was told I would show you the Aswan High Dam, but later I found out that the place I visited was the Old Aswan Dam. I don't know what you mean, but I felt a little cheated, and the other tours I took were great, so I'll use 3 as a comparison.
Excelente passeio. Ótimo guia e motorista. Você sente seguro com o guia e motorista. Templos lindos e ricos em história
Transport between Luxor and Aswan via the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo. Travel in order with police checks, nothing to say, everything went well.
From Luxor to Aswan, an impressive tour of the temples and the dam. Excellent lunch in a no-frills restaurant. Guide Ahmed was great. Very inviting, reassuring and pleasant throughout the day. Driver Ahmed, same name!, has adopted an efficient and pleasant driving for this long distance. It all happened very quickly in the end. Images that will remain us for a very long time! Thank you!
