We travelled to Dendara temple on our trip to Luxor. The tour guide Mubarak did a great job. He initially gave very informative info about the hieroglyphics on the walls and columns in the temples. We wanted him to get to the point without all the additional information and make it fun to enjoy the day. He completed his tour as requested. The driver was Mustafa. Thanks Mubarak and Mustafa for the tour!. It felt like I was in the movie Tokyo Drift. The guide was a fantastic photographer

Amazing Dendera and Abydos. The visit was made extra special by our excellent guide Khaled from.Reflections Travel. Many thanks Khaled!
The views were so amazing... we took so mamy fotos... our guide mr. Galaal had so much knowledge and explained everything very well... would recommend
Khaled the guide and Ahmed the driver offer to us a unique experience in the Marvelous temples of Abydos and Dendera. They prick up as at the Luxor reception in early morning and after 3 hours drive through the western desert in total air conditioned confort our professional driver bring us to this unique place in the human history that was perfectly explained in the highlight by our knowledgeable guide. I’m looking forward to returning discovery the Egyptian antiquities with Ahmed and Khaled.
I was advised by my guide in Cairo not to miss Abydos and Dendera whilst staying in Luxor. Having never used Viator before, I chose this trip because of a positive review about a certain guide. This was not the guide we ended up with, but our guide, Khaled, was punctual, polite and personable. He escorted us to a very swish, comfortable car to take us on our long journey to Abydos on an extremely hot day. The drive to Abydos is, apparently, better than it was due to the opening of a new highway. This enabled our driver to speed along at a sometimes nerve wracking pace (considering the stray dogs who meander onto the road as they please) but he got us to the temple in air conditioned comfort. I knew it was less frequented than the easier to reach sites but I was astonished to see that there was only a handful of people there on our arrival, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. After guiding us through the temple and explaining the highlights, Khaled sat and chatted with my mum while I had another look around and took the obligatory photos. We were then driven to Dendera, stopping at a little stall in Abydos on the way, where our driver bought some little Egyptian bananas for us to try (a thoughtful touch on Khaled's part). Dendera is an impressive temple because of how well the colours have been preserved, and it was interesting to see a temple dedicated to Hathor. Again, after showing us around, Khaled found a shady spot for him and mum to wait for me to have another look and take more photos. On our arrival in Luxor we were taken to a perfume shop to smell papyrus scent, where Khaled left us with the guy from the shop. We felt under pressure to buy something, so my mum made what felt like an obligatory purchase (the second of our trip, as often happens with guided tours). Khaled then asked if there was anywhere else we'd like to go or anything we needed before returning us to our hotel. I asked to call at a shop to buy some crisps. Our driver then bought them on my behalf so I wouldn't be charged the tourist price. A very kind gesture. This is a good value day trip and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Abydos and Dendera whilst staying in Luxor.
I have a wonderful time with Barry , he is kind and a very good story teller. He speaks very good English so you can easily understand all the stories from the. temple. He is also very knowledgeable, and you will learn a lot for sure. So I highly recommend Barry , and you will be surely have a great time with him !
This was a trip we were really looking forward to. It was a long drive from Luxor, and the guide chatted a bit on the way but not a great deal. I had visited both temples before without a guide, so was excited. We were rushed round Abydos and the guide was not happy when we spotted bats and wanted to watch them. He was also a little annoyed that we wanted to take photos. Dendera is my favourite temple, but this was rushed and we were not show the main things of the zodiac on the ceiling nor did we go into the Crypt. Very disappointing especially as these trips were not cheap. The most worrying thing was the driver. He drove in excess of 90 miles per hour, on roads not fit for this speed and slammed his breaks on at every speed bump. The majority of the journey he was on his mobile phone, well actually he had two mobiles and these were more important than the road. We had a puncture that needed to be fixed. The driver was extremely annoyed by the road checks to the extent that he argued with a police officer, rang someone who argued with the police officer and both were put in their place. These checks keep visitors safe but this driver was not keen on this or our safety just get us there and back as quickly as possible. Luckily we took water with us as we were only offered one bottle and no opportunity to get food. Both temples are beautiful but next time I will do what I did the first time, agree a price with a taxi driver to take me and let the residents Egyptian curators show me the beautiful bits in the temple. When we finally arrived back at our hotel, we paid the guide for our tickets and gave him a tip to share with the driver, which to be honest he was not too grateful with. Beautiful temples, the guide was OK but could have done a lot more to make the day special and the driver was dangerous.
Thanks to Reflections travel for organising the tour to Dendera.Very reasonable for the price. The guide Barre was an informative and very genial man. He doesn’t make you feel that you’re at school with all the facts about the Egyptian history. He delivers his “talk” with a good amount of friendly banter. He wants to look after you. I would highly recommend him as your guide.
Super day with Adam. Learned so much about the history of Egypt and saw so many amazing sights. Great way to explore the area. Highly recommended. Adam was an excellent tour guide.
ADAM WAS AMAZING!!!! 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋 I have been waiting to come to Egypt for 36 years to see this Temple specifically….. Adam made it fun, exciting, engaging & made sure we had the best day possible! If you are looking for a life changing experience with someone who is knowledgeable, comfortable & kind….ADAM IS YOUR GUYS!! Thanks Adam… It was a day I will never forget!
My husband and I spent 17 days in Egypt, and the most amazing temples were seen on this tour! Dendera and Abydos were really so, so much more amazing than anything we saw during out time in Egypt, rivaled only perhaps by Abu Simal, but I would still say that this tour day was my favorite. I was a quite hesitant to spend the 3 hours driving to these sites, but the drive passed quickly and the countryside was beautiful and allowed my to see more of the daily village life in Egypt. Roshdy, our guide, was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable, interesting, and treated us to a wonderful lunch of falafel, that was , by far, the best we had in Egypt. He helped make the drive interesting, and kept us both engaged while being sensitive to when we wanted some down time and time to take all the pictures we needed. I would 100% encourage anyone who wanted to see the best of Egypt, not to miss Dendera and Abydos, and would also encourage you to take this tour with Roshdy, who was the perfect host.
Mohsen was extremely knowledgeable and provided a thoughtful and comfortable trip. Delicious snacks and plenty of air conditioning. Best tour I’ve been on in Egypt!
What a great experience! Roshdy from Reflections Travel showed us around Denera and Abydos, and it was amazing! Roshdy told us about the history and mythology behind all the architecture, artwork, and even the surrounding areas. He was an absolute pleasure, and even arranged for an amazing falafel lunch between Temples! I can't begin to describe Abydos and Dendera. Impressive isn't close enough, there must be a bigger word. The carvings in Abydos are beautifully intricate, and have held so much detail, even after 3000 years and Dendera's colors are still so vibrant. I don't see how anything else will be able to impress me more. I would absolutely recommend anyone coming to Egypt to see Abydos and Dendera with Roshdy and Reflections Travel!
Awsome Roshdy! Thank you for the tour and interessting time Reflectionstravel. Both Abydos and Dendera are amazing!
The trip to Abydos and Dendera from Luxor with Reflections Travel exceeded our expectations. My wife and I are experienced, savvy and detail oriented travellers. We dont often choose guided tours as we prefer to explore on our own, Egypt and its rules forbidding foreign drivers dictated that some less visited sights, off the beaten path required hiring transport and for once I bent to my wives will and chose the guided option. Both of us being amateur Egyptologists and history buffs, I was sceptical of the guided part as most of the time, I find that the guides are versed in very basic and easy for tourist consumption type of information. In short I was blown away. Rashdie our guide was/is a treasure trove of information most of which you will not find in any history book or Egypt guide. His seemingly inexhaustible capacity for story telling and colourful fact findings really brought each site and all its complicated, legends, customs and history to vivid life. Breaking down the hieroglyphs, cartouches, etchings and carvings, answering all and any questions with the passion of a fellow lover of the rich history of this beautiful land. We were enchanted and forged what is sure to be a long term friendship with this kind and spiritual man. Not to leave out other important aspects, Khaled our superb driver was/is a master of the politics and logistics of the police check points of which there are many and which can if not managed properly be a real drag on your schedule. He skillfully managed each stop with grace and expediency which had to be seen to be fully appreciated. As we lingered way too long at each site not wanting to leave and our return seemed destined to be very late due also to friday heavy traffic in the rural parts as evening prayer faithfuls hit the roads, Khaled found near miraculous means of cutting thru, avoiding and missing the heave congestion parts of the way, all safely and comfortably in our new SUV which handled the often bumpy roads like a charm. Reflections travel, was in contact from the start and all through out, making sure we were well informed and prepared including all the paperwork required by the authorities. Everything was on time and as advertised but the real magic, antiquities aside was in spending the day with warm, wonderful people whos love for their land its beauty took it to heights we did not expect and cannot express our thanks and gratitude enough for and we cant wait to come back for more.Shukran jazeelan Habibi ! Spent a wonderful day at Dendera and Abydos Temples. These Temples are not as popular as the ones in Luxor owing to the distance from the city, but definitely worth the drive. Both temples are pretty well preserved and have beautiful inscriptions, colours, photo opportunities, tonnes of mythology and symbolism. Our tour guide Ahmed Haggag Ali and driver Khalid were the nicest company possible. Ahmed is a very passionate Egyptologist and educated us heavily. Strongly recommend them.
Dendara is amazing! worth driving there despite a long sitting in the car. the tour is nice, you have about an hour in each site which is enough to take all the pics you need. Guide, Mohamed Adel, is very knowledgable. The car and the driver also nice. I found this agent cost only half of what other agent charge you. Totally recommended!
We had a brilliant tour today with Roshdy as our guide and Khalid as our driver. Dendera is a beautiful temple complex with some hidden and cavern-like rooms that Roshdy revealed to us. (A bit like Indiana Jones!) We made some special requests on the trip that the guide and company generously accommodated and we appreciated that. A knowledgeable, sensitive, flexible and kind guide that we were our happily travel with again - already thinking about our next visit to sites in the Luxor area! We highly recommend this tour, especially with Roshdy!
Beautiful hidden temple of Abydos really worth it. Our driver Ahmed was very good and the guide Khaled was very helpful
For my taste, they were one of the best preserved temples, although with a fairly considerable distance from the rest of the points of interest. The service I hired helped me a lot and gave me security (I was alone) to get to the two areas of the temples. The bad thing was that they have a not very pleasant attitude when the tip you give them is not what they expected.
