Itinerary
Day 1
1
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in central Luxor or harbor by an air-conditioned vehicle for a full guided trip of about 8 hours. First you will be transported to the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank of Luxor. This ancient necropolis is a must-see for Luxor travelers. There you visit four royal tombs, including the Tomb of Ramses, the Tomb of Horemheb, the Tomb of Merenptah .Valley of the Kings on the West Bank of Luxor.
The tomb of Ramesses III, designated as KV 11, is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. It has been known since antiquity, the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) and Ramses before the gods. Unusual here are the secular scenes, in the small side rooms of the entrance corridor, showing foreign tributes, such as highly detailed pottery imported from the Aegean, the royal armoury, boats and, in the last of these side chambers, the blind harpists that gave the tomb one of its alternative names: ‘Tomb of the Harpers’
Tomb of King Ramesses lx was the third pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. His name prior to assuming the crown was Amonhirkhopshef. He was the fifth son of Ramesses III and was appointed to the position of crown prince by the twenty-second year of his father's reign when all four of his elder brothers predeceased his promotion to crown prince . The tomb has so much colour and detail even the ceiling above the sarcophagi with its goddess Nut stretching across the space. The sarcophagus is one of the largest in the valley, even though some of the paintings have deteriorated this is one of the most decorated.
In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the demiurge of Memphis, god of craftsmen and architects. In the or simply in its falcon form of the new deity, began to be placed in tombs to accompany and protect the dead on their journey to the West of Luxor .Tomb 8, which is located in the Valley of the Kings, was the burial place of the Pharaoh Merneptah and is the model of royal tombs Merneptah was a son of Ramesses II and Queen Isis-Nofret.the tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in 1903. Of coursethere is a material decrease in the number of lateral rooms, and a dramatic increase in the height of the corridors and rooms. He did away with the jogged axis used since the time of Horemheb and instead built the entire tomb on a single axis. Also, for the first time, the entrance was made considerably wider than earlier tombs .
Entrance fees to the tomb of Tutankhamun 360.00 EGP) (optional) King Tutankhamun, the most famous king in the world. This young king from the New Kingdom was around 10 years old when he ascended the throne and died when he was only 19. You will get the chance to be face to face with his royal mummy in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings
After visiting the tombs you will be transported to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el Bahari), the only woman ever to reign over Egypt as Pharaoh. This queen was an ancestor of King Tutankhamun and belonged to the same dynasty.Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman ever to reign over Egypt as Pharaoh .
The Colossi of Memnon, the two largest ancient statues in Egypt, which date back to the era of King Amenhotep III.

Yasser was a great guide and very knowledgeable. It was very helpful when we’d ask him to walk with us through the temples because he would see additional things to tell us about. Our driver, Hammoud, was lovely as well. I highly recommend having a guide to tour Luxor, it was very helpful and better than touring alone.
The two days tour was amazing, we learned a lot about Luxor and Egyptian history with Yasser, who's an amazing guide well known in the city and loves what he does. Me and my partner couldn't thank him enough.
I spent two days exploring Luxor with Hassan as my guide. On the East Bank, he took me to Karnak Temple, the Avenue of Sphinxes, and Luxor Temple. On the West Bank, we visited the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon. Hassan was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Egyptian history. He gave us detailed explanations not only at each archaeological site but also during the drives between locations. Thanks to his guidance, I didn't have to worry about transportation, entrance procedures, or other practical matters, so I could enjoy the sightseeing in a relaxed, comfortable, and fulfilling way. As is common with tours in Egypt, there were also stops at some souvenir shops along the way. However, there was absolutely no pressure or obligation to buy anything, and I could simply use these stops as convenient places to take a break. Overall, Hassan made my two days in Luxor much easier and more enjoyable. I highly recommend him to anyone visiting Luxor who wants to learn about Egyptian history while exploring the ancient sites comfortably.
Hassan was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. He was happy to take any and all questions and really made our tour enjoyable. Our driver Allam was awesome too.
We had a wonderful experience with this tour team in Luxor! Even though we reached out at the very last minute right before our trip, they responded quickly and arranged everything seamlessly—from our pickup at Luxor Train Station, to the East and West Bank tours, and finally our airport transfer. Our guide, Hassan, was fantastic! His insightful explanations—especially when he used a whiteboard to explain the history—were clear and allowed us to appreciate and understand each historical site on a much deeper level. The driver was also very polite and drove safely throughout the trip. The only minor suggestion for improvement would be the dining and shopping options. While the recommended restaurants and souvenir shops were nice, they were mostly tourist-oriented. It would have been even better to experience a few authentic local spots that residents actually go to. Overall, it was a very reliable, memorable, and well-organized tour. I highly recommend Hassan and his team to anyone visiting Luxor.
We did a private 2day tour or Luxor and we had the best experience. Hassan our guide was very knowledgeable, engaging and made the whole experience better! We were picked up at the hotel both days, and dropped off at the airport at the end of our tour. The car was very comfortable, AC, and the driver prompt and pacient with us when we were late the second day. Would def recommend!
Our entire experience with Hassan was absolutely amazing. Hassan was so nice, explained everything in depth, and such a bright light. He made our trip to Egypt unforgettable and we all learned so much from him!
Our host Hassan was well informed and a engaging source of stories and legends of old Egypt and it kings and queens. Our visits to the valley of the kings and tombs, complex of Karnak and Luxor temple with him was worth the sweat and effort. He even walked with down Sphinx avenue, with stories from his own heritage. An impromptu visit to the newly established spices/tea shop was an adventure. It was truly an interesting 2 days in Luxor. Highly recommended.
Our experience in Luxor was exceptional, and Hassan was a major reason why. He guided us through some of the most remarkable historical sites in Egypt, including Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and Dendera. His knowledge, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm made every visit memorable. Hassan has a remarkable ability to make ancient history come alive. He explained the stories, symbolism, and significance behind each site in a way that was both informative and engaging. We never felt rushed, and he always took the time to answer questions and share fascinating details that we would have otherwise missed. Beyond his expertise, Hassan was thoughtful, organized, and attentive throughout our stay. He made navigating the sites easy and stress-free, allowing us to focus on enjoying the incredible history and beauty around us. His recommendations and local insights added so much to our experience. Luxor was one of the highlights of our trip to Egypt, and Hassan played a huge role in making it so special. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate guide. He truly helped us create memories that we will cherish for years to come.
We had an amazing time with Hassan. He communicated so well with pick ups and plans for 2 days First day in Valley of the Kings, Memnon and Valley of Queens, second day was Karnak and Luxor Temple. He gave us detailed history and stories of the monuments and temples in Luxor with such great enthusiasm and humor. We learned so much as he’s a great teacher. We highly recommend Hassan and his team. We will use him again when we come back to Egypt.
Excellent tour with Hassan who explained things in a way that was interesting and easy to understand. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Definitely recommended!
Hussain was our guide for a 2 half day private tours from our cruise ship in Luxor and he was fantastic. Day 1 was the Valley of the Kings, and day 2 we visited Karnak and Luxor Temple. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very professional, and everything was well organised and stress-free! Would highly recommend!
These were 2 very nice days spent in the company of Hassan and his driver. Hassan is a very knowledgeable guide and has a very nice way of weaving history in the stories he tells. We saw the valley of the kings, the temple of Hatjepsoet, Karnak, Luxor Temple and museum. We highly recommend the walk from Karnak to the temple of Luxor in his company. Highly recommended.
Hassan was a great guide. Gave us a quality tour and explained in detail the vast history of Egypt. He helped us with other activities as well as the main tombs and temples. I would recommend Hassan and Luxor Travels for a great visit. Nick
We spent two full days exploring Luxor’s East and West Banks with Hassan, our Egyptologist guide, and Ahmed, our driver, as a group of four adults and four kids. Everything was organized through Luxor Travel, and Ragab, the owner, was great to work with from start to finish. He handled all of the planning and logistics, including airport pickup, which made traveling as a family completely stress free. Hassan is extremely knowledgeable and brings ancient Egyptian history to life in a way that is engaging, clear, and genuinely entertaining. He was fantastic with our kids—patient, friendly, and attentive to our large group. He knows the sites inside and out and seems to know everyone, which kept everything running smoothly. His storytelling kept both adults and children interested throughout long days. He even took us to some of his favorite food places because we loved street food. Thank you for that! Ahmed ensured comfortable, reliable transportation between sites and made the days easy and well paced. He was awesome. Luxor Travel did an excellent job pairing us with Hassan and Ahmed and Ragab’s organization and attention to detail made the entire experience seamless. Thank you so much for having us!
Excellent experience, this was a great tour. Tour guide very experienced. Hamdy, our guide used this expert knowledge to provide a brilliantly planned tour ! Hamdy, and our driver ensured we saw the temples at quieter times. No crowds !
…this tour was great. Hassan our tourguide did a great job touring us around. Very knowledgeable and funny. They have a very comfortable ride as well. I highly recommend this tour company. Thumbs up.
This might have been the best tour I took while in Egypt and that is saying a lot because I was extremely impressed by the guides I’ve had. They all set the bar so high and now having had Hassan as my guide in Luxor I fear I’ll never have a better one anywhere else. He was incredible for many reasons, but his great passion for what he does and his wonderful energy in all his answers to my questions was contagious. He was extremely knowledgeable, and eager to share. He was also a wonderful person to connect and spend time with. I strongly recommend him to anyone traveling to Luxor! He was extremely efficient when it came to navigating crowds and setting my preferred pace (likely relatively fast compared to others, but it’s clear he likely adapted that for my benefit) and the tours were still so dense with interesting information. I had plenty of time to explore and take pictures on my own too because he would walk through with me and explain a lot by pointing out key features, and then he would let me explore and experience things for myself and meet up with him again when I was done. He also provided great pointers for where to take pictures from, and he took great pictures of me (which was great to have as a solo traveler). He also impromptu hooked me up with a great company to do the sunrise hot air balloon tour with. I had not previously planned to do that, but I am SO glad that I did because it was an absolute highlight of my entire trip! Everywhere I went other tour guides were telling me how lucky I was to be on a tour with Hassan because he is exceptional, and I have to agree. I could not imagine a better way to spend 2 days in Luxor!! He and his driver were professional and always on time. I really can’t say enough good things about this whole experience.
Hassan was an amazing guide. He has so much knowledge and answered all of our questions. He was also very kind and accommodating with my 92 year old dad who needed a wheel chair and my 77 year old mom who does not do well in the heat. I liked him so much that I am booking him again to give a tour to my group of girlfriends in February.
I was touched by how this person communicated with us so clearly, even though we struggle with English. I'd love to be guided by them again.
A great tour to hit not only all the important sites in Luxor, but a couple of the hidden gems. We throughly e joyed our 2 days with Khalid who was so passionate and willing to explain everything to us with real enthusiasm. Thank you for a wonderful 2 days.
We really enjoyed both days of the tour. It’s a fantastic way to hot all the important sites in Luxor, and do it all with a qualified guide that teaches you so much about all the sites as well. We had Khalid and he was absolutely fantastic and taught us so much. Thank you so much Khalid.
Hassan was absolutely phenomenal! He was knowledgeable, kind, and truly passionate about Egyptian history. He made every moment engaging and made us feel safe and well taken care of throughout the trip. An unforgettable experience, highly recommend!
Hussain was INCREDIBLE!! He is the best storyteller. So much passion about history and he made everything so so interesting!! We did east bank on one day and west the other! As two female solo travelers to Egypt, we had a really amazing experience. Thank you Hussain for all your passion and storytelling and making everything so PERFECT.
Fantastic 2 days with Hassan exploring Luxor in an air conditioned minivan expertly driven by Abdul. We visited Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnon and Karnak Temple. Hassan’s knowledge was incredible; we were overwhelmed with his knowledge of ancient Egypt. Would highly recommend having a private tour with this tour operator and Hassan; we experienced no queues and apart from Karnak Temple which was very busy the other sites were not busy at all… perhaps due to the 44 C temperature!
Hassan was an exceptional guide – both knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with. We felt fortunate to have him for both of our tour days. I highly recommend splitting the tours with one day on the West Bank and the other on the East Bank. Hassan expertly guided us through the highlights, sharing captivating stories along the way. Having a guide like Hassan is definitely beneficial, especially for navigating interactions with shop owners. The sites themselves involve relatively easy walking; I comfortably wore sandals on both days. Sunscreen and water are a must it is hot! Over all Luxor was amazing and so much more to see in a smaller city compared to Cario.
Wry good experience with Hassan over 2 days in the West Bank and East bank temples. Very lively explanations and insightful anecdotes. Open to all our questions. We practiced some French together so maybe available for French speakers at some point!
Great spots and suggestions. Hassam is a very professional and nice guide, he helped us creating the perfect itinerary
Hussein is a great guide. Very accomodating to family needs and very knowledgeable, took us to some aditional places and went put of his way to insure a pleasant experience. Dully recommend.
Abdul is very knowledgeable and interesting. He understands the history and geography of Egypt. Abdul even helped us plan which sites to see in Cairo and Giza.
Hassan was the best guide we had in Egypt, he knows everything and is also a very kind person. If you come to Luxor and want a guide to better understand the place do not hesitate it's worth it without a doubt. We visited the Karnak and Louxor temples, the valley of the kings, Hatchepsout temple, Medinet Habu and the colossis of Memnun. Thank you Hassan!
It was an amazing experience, the sites were spectacular and the historical artifacts were breath-taking. The 2 days are well paced, giving enough time for self exploration. Our guide was Hassan, a friendly chap who took the time to explain the history at each site in detail. My kids really enjoyed his engaging commentary(he gave little scarbs for answering his quizzes). Overall a great experience!!
Hassan was amazing. He's very knowledgeable about everything. Throw question to him and he can give you the answer. He didn't push us to do anything and never made us feel in hurry. The two days tour of Luxor is chill, you can have enough time to rest and still see many important scenic spots.
During our two day trip to Luxor we saw all the monuments from the Valley of Kings, Hatchepsut Temple, the Colossus, to Karnak and the Luxor Temple and many more. We highly recommend getting a Guide for your trip as there is so much to learn about all those places. We were lucky to be guided by Hassan, truly the best Guide ever! Ask for Hassan, there is only one! His friendly character as well as his profound knowledge about history and culture made the trip a real joy. 10/10
Hossam was a great tour guide, I fully recomend him. He knows a lot about the places we visited, very clear and was a great company as well. Took us to a fantastic place to eat called Paris, great Egyptian cousine.
Hassan is a great tour guide. We took a two day tour at the hottest part of the summer, and we were so interested in his expert guide knowledge that we didn't even notice the heat! He is kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in his local culture. If you get the chance to see Luxor, call Hassan!
A wonderful tour with Hassan. He gave us insight into the past and explained everything we saw in great detail. Highly recommended!
Hassan was a wonderful, generous guide, not only during the tour but throughout my stay in Luxor. I only had two days and wanted to make the most of my experience and helped me do just that. At each site he had fascinating stories and explanations and he always went above and beyond to ensure I had the best experience. He is genuinely passionate and curious about the history he tells - it makes the whole experience much more meaningful. I would often stay much longer than planned at various sites and he was always patient and understanding. When I wanted to buy a carpet he went with me and supported me through the whole bargaining process which took hours. He had the best recommendations for restaurants, things to do around Luxor, etc. If you go to the sites by yourself, you will see paintings and nice images, but having a guide like Hassan makes it all come to life. Do yourself a favor and call Hassan.
Ragab was great! Loved his knowledge and insights for all the things in Luxor. He did a tour especially for us showing the highlights of ancient Egypt.
We really enjoyed our 3 day trip arranged by Luxor Travel. We visited the valley of the kings and other west bank sites on day 1, luxor and karnak temples on day 2 and edfu and kom ombo temples on day 3 dropping us off in Aswan. We had an excellent guide, Hassan who I would highly recommend. He explained the history behind everything we sawin an interesting and informative way and gave us excellent recommendations for which tombs to visit at the valley of the kings. He also walked with us down the avenue of the sphinx from luxor temple entering to karnak temple through the back entrance which was very special as we avoided the crowds. Hassan was interesting to soend time with and very flexible about timings. I will definitely recommend him to friends coming to Egypt

We had an amazing two days with Hassan &(our guide) Sayed (our driver). From pick up in the morning until drop off Hassan kept us engaged with knowledge of everything around the trip. This trip will give you memories that will last you a lifetime. The tombs at the valley of the Kings are truly magnificent as too was the temple of Hatshepsut. Day two you will travel the east bank of the city and Karnak and the Luxor Temples await. There is also so much to see here as well. Make sure you have plenty of memory on you camera to keep taking the pictures.
Hassan was everything you would want from a guide - knowledgeable, friendly, attentive to questions/needs of the group, and very funny. He provided incredible context for each of the sights we saw, made sure we understood the context and rich history, and willing to go above and beyond for anyone in the group’s needs. We will absolutely be using Hassan again on our next visit.
