1 had a great day in Luxor. Hassan was a fantastic guide who adapted perfectly to my plans. He is extremely knowledgeable and clearly very proud of his city. He was punctual and organized our day exceptionally well. I would highly recommend him.

(Admission is free if you have Valley of the Kings tektites ) The tomb of Ramesses III, designated as KV 11, is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. It has been known since antiquity, the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) and Ramses before the gods. Unusual here are the secular scenes, in the small side rooms of the entrance corridor, showing foreign tributes, such as highly detailed pottery imported from the Aegean, the royal armoury, boats and, in the last of these side chambers, the blind harpists that gave the tomb one of its alternative names: ‘Tomb of the Harpers’
(Admission is free if you have Valley of the Kings tektites ) Tomb of King Ramesses lX was the third pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. His name prior to assuming the crown was Amonhirkhopshef. He was the fifth son of Ramesses III and was appointed to the position of crown prince by the twenty-second year of his father's reign when all four of his elder brothers predeceased his promotion to crown prince . The tomb has so much colour and detail even the ceiling above the sarcophagi with its goddess Nut stretching across the space. The sarcophagus is one of the largest in the valley, even though some of the paintings have deteriorated this is one of the most decorated.
(Admission is free if you have Valley of the Kings tektites ) In Egyptian mythology, Ptah is the demiurge of Memphis, god of craftsmen and architects. In the or simply in its falcon form of the new deity, began to be placed in tombs to accompany and protect the dead on their journey to the West of Luxor .Tomb 8, which is located in the Valley of the Kings, was the burial place of the Pharaoh Merneptah and is the model of royal tombs Merneptah was a son of Ramesses II and Queen Isis-Nofret.the tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in 1903. Of coursethere is a material decrease in the number of lateral rooms, and a dramatic increase in the height of the corridors and rooms. He did away with the jogged axis used since the time of Horemheb and instead built the entire tomb on a single axis. Also, for the first time, the entrance was made considerably wider than earlier tombs .

Obelisk of Queen Hapshetsut
An avenue of human headed sphinxes of over one and a half miles (3 km) once connected the temples of Karnak and Luxor. This road was used once a year during the Opet festival when the Egyptians paraded along it carrying the statues of Amun and Mut in a symbolic re-enactment of their marriage. At Luxor temple Amun was magically transformed into Min the god of fertility. Around 1,350 sphinx statues are thought to have lined this road together with barque chapels stocked with offerings. Queen Hatshepsut (1479-1425 BC) built six of these chapels. Each of which had a precise function such as to cool the oar of Amun or to receive the beauty of Amun.
Obelisk of Thutmose I- The smallest of the two remaining obelisks. Each face has three lines of inscriptions Tuthmosis I was one of the great warrior-kings of ancient Egypt, extending his domains south into Nubia and north into Syria. In thanksgiving, he contributed many monuments in the capital town Thebes (now called Luxor). Among them, he raised a pair of obelisks here, though only one remains standing today. This obelisk id the one.

Everything went according to schedule and it was a wonderful experience. I contacted the company in advance and they helped me with all possible information and questions I had. Khalid, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and was an amazing guide. He could answer all possible questions we had and knew exactly where to take pictures that were worth while. The lunch was amazing to say the least and we could not finish our food. The restaurant where we had lunch had clean bathrooms and was overall a clean restaurant. Our driver was cautious and a good driver. Thank you Khalid for making our trip wonderful and insightful!
The best! You can’t miss it when in Luxor. Amazing view and experience, would totally recommend it. Crew very friendly as well
Loved everything about this trip. Our guide was fantastic. It's all of luxor in one epic day. Just leaving the museum and boat todo
Had an absolutely amazing time with this tour. Started off bright and early where they picked us up from our hotel and took us to the balloon launch site. This alone made the tour worth while, watching probably 30-40 balloons all launch at once and to see the sun rise over Luxor. This was our first time in a balloon and naturally have a fear of heights, but I can assure you it was one of the most comfortable peaceful things we've experienced and very glad to have done it. Upon landing, we were met with our tour guide, Ali. He was absolutely fantastic, spoke well and was quite knowledgable. We headed off to the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, Karnak Temple, and Luxor Temple. Ali didn't rush us at all, explaining everything of interest before being respectful and giving us however much time we wanted for ourselves for photos and private exploration. It was great to have a private driver and private guide amidst all the chaos with other large tour groups. Allowed us to move quick and easily around the city. As with any tour, we stopped at a souvenir shop. Really had no complaints as we found it interesting and a tangent to the history learned at the sites. Overall, we had a great time and highly recommend this tour to anyone planning on visiting Luxor. We were only here for 3 days, but this tour alone really had us feeling satisfied with our time here. Thank you Ali and thank you Luxor Travels for an amazing experience.
If I can describe with one single word my experience with Mansour, I will describe it as EXCELLENT he is extremely knowledgeable in Egyptian History and Language. He has a complete understanding and knowledge of every historical site that we visited. He took the time to explain to us everything so we had a clear understanding of what we were looking at. He is truly an Egyptian historian. Thank you so much for a very informative tour. The Driver Ramadan was very professional and courteous. Thank you very much. And finally the Ballon Ride .. it was AWESOME. The ballon captain Osama was great !! This is a must do ride, it was incredible experience overlooking the Valley of the Kings. Thank you. Highly recommended Tour Operator
Great day in Luxor. Hassan was fantastic as a guide and adapted to our plans. Very knowledgeable and proud of his city. He was on time and planned our day really well. We would very highly recommend.
The balloon portion of this trip was disappointing- we took off after sunset as they were monitoring the winds. We also drifted East so did not go over any historical sites, just farmland. The second portion of the trip with our guide Khalid totally made up for it though! With advanced degrees in Egyptology and hieroglyphics he explained so much from the many essential Luxor sites and was so helpful and accommodating. He took some great photos for us (knows all the fun angles). I would definitely recommend him as a tour guide any time!!
Had a fantastic day with Ragab which included a wonderful balloon flight at sunrise then a tour of the important sites of Luxor . He gently introduced us to the various topics without giving us a lecture. We were entertained for the whole day absorbing information without realising it. He has a great understanding of the ancient Egyptians, instantly answering any question we threw at him but keeping things on a light note. It was one of the best tours we’ve been on.
Rajab is the best tour guide to do any tour with he is friendly, informative, easy going with a great sense of humour and we sad when the day ended. The hot air balloon trip is an absolute must when in Luxor, it was quite simply breathtaking the Valley of the Kings, Luxor and Karnak Temples were simply outstanding a return to Luxor is definitely on the cards and I will definitely be contacting Rajab on any further tours of this beautiful area
The sunrise hot air balloon ride with the King Tut Balloons company was phenomenal. Our guide Gabriel was very knowledgeable, courteous and funny! Definitely recommend this company if you are interested in a hot air balloon ride to get a good view of the West Bank of Luxor or if it is first experience riding one. After the hot air balloon ride we met up with our guide and Egyptologist Ragab who gave us an excellent tour of the East and West Bank in Luxor. He was very knowledgeable, answered any question we had and is also a great photographer/knows the good places to get pictures. I would definitely recommend Ragab and this tour if you are wanting to experience Luxor and its history, which was perfect for us since we were in town for a short amount of time.
We had a beautiful tour starting with the hot air balloon and visiting the tempels with the best guide in luxor. Our guide had explained to us the history of every temple. We only stayed for one day in luxor and we have seen all the temples and the history of the city
This was by far one of the best tours I’ve been on. The guides are very knowledgeable and helpful. Our guide Abdul is the best. I highly recommend having him as a guide if you truly want to learn about ancient Egypt.
Great experience, great guide, good lunch. Best tour in Luxor. Start’s earlier, about 5am, and we must be prepared to the hard conditions of weather (43ºc), but at the end it was very interesting and complete.
Highly recommended if you are short on travel time. Abdul was a great guide and was friendly, informative and very knowledgeable/passionate about the sites. Thank you Abdul for a great tour and experience!
Hot Air Balloon take off and landing was super smooth. The pillars at the Karnak Temple were amazing.
I had an excellent time! The hot air balloon was amazing, I was actually petrified at first because I’m scared of heights. But it was great, good views and our hot air balloon driver was nice and knowledgeable. The landing was smooth too. Then the tour was great! Our tour guide was Abdul and driver was Ramadan. They were both great. Abdul was very knowledgeable about each site we visited. Explained it to us clearly and in laymen’s terms so it was easily understandable to us. He even quizzed us and the end to see if we remember haha and that was fun. We ate at a restaurant that was really delicious. I highly enjoyed my time and recommend it for anyone to do! It is worth the money
Such a great experience from start to finish!! Breathtaking views from the hot air balloon..The Luxor Day tour was amazing thanks to Abdul! It’s clear he’s very passionate about his job and enjoys to teach the history of Egypt. So worth it! Loved it all! Add my Instagram for more photos of my trip :) LisaDarling
Really amazing day! Great explanation of the tombs and history of the temples.I would recommend this to all tourists.
The hot air ballooning was the highlight of the trip. Amazing views! Abdul, the guide, was very informative and made our experience great!
Really amazing day!! Thoroughly enjoyed every part of the trip and our guide Abdul was incredible. Highly recommend for anyone who has the chance to spend the day in Luxor
We had a great tour with Hassan. He did a wonderful job of explaining the history of the different locations. Very knowledgeable
Hassan was a GREAT host, a very warm person and a wonderful storyteller! Absolutely loved Luxor under his expert guidance!
Great tour with Hassan! Hassan is an incredibly nice and friendly host, and he did a great job showing us around. After our balloon ride that we booked through the same company (which was also quite fun), he picked us up in our private car and took us to the valley of the kings, we paid to see 3 tombs and paid extra to see King Tut’s tomb. If there are specific tombs you want to see in the valley of the kings or queens it’s important to specify. He then took us to an alabaster factory where they handmade trinkets and vases. They give you a tour and free drink, and you don’t need to buy anything. We then went to Hatshepsut’s funeral temple, lunch (paid for in our ticket), and the Karnak and Luxor temples. At all the monuments he did a great job of explaining things and then letting us explore on our own as we wanted. At the end of the day, he sat and chatted with us about a bunch of random stuff. Overall very good tour and full day in Luxor with an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable host.
The experience was amazing Hassan de tour guide has excellent knowledge and explain everything, definitely the best experience since the pickup, the visit in very each place, also de tips to enjoy the city was sonamazing
The knowledge of our tour guide was excellent, he was friendly and professional. He made our trip memorable, and driver made us feel safe while on the road. We will be glad to visit again in the future.
It was great! Very respectful and knowledgeable guide, taking the time to explain the history while putting it in ccontext as it relates to historical events
The hot air ballooning was beyond description. It was far better than we imagined it could be. Then the private tour was simply amazing. We learned so much and were able to experience most of the sites in Luxor. Our guide, driver, and host were all safe, courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive to detail. It was a magical day.
Skip Cairo and head to Luxor. A must is obtaining Abdullah as your guide. He has generations of knowledge, is friendly and highly enjoyable company. Certainly the highlight of my time in Egypt.
Hot air balloon and selfie with King Tut were highlights. The tour itself really does hit the major attractions which are amazing. Our guide was knowledgeable but did not seem very enthusiastic about us or showing us around. We kinda felt like a burden, he was usually walking far in front of us and put us in the back of the boat instead of letting us choose where we wanted to sit, making a sexist remark (maybe in jest, but actions suggested otherwise). We were offered the hot air balloon ride at a lower price, but when it came time to pay, they asked for $20 more each and did not honor the offer, a total bait and switch. Also, the price does NOT include tickets to the attraction unlike other tours which take care of everything in the price.
One of the highlights of my trip to Egypt. Beautiful sunrise, happy people, and the BEST pilot. The early 3am wake up call to be there by 4am was completely worth it because you get to witness the sunrise. I was in complete awe of the majesty and history I saw from the air. Smooth ride and we were in great hands. Our guide Ragab was extraordinary!
Hassan is an incredible guide. This was my first trip to Egypt and with Hassan everything went very smoothly. We visited amazing sites. Hassan provided great insights. He was knowledgeable about the history, geography, and current policies governing Egyptian heritage. Hassan is very well known. We were warmly greeted by friends at several points and he made me feel very at ease and confident as we move through the day. Hassan also made great recommendations on what to see and where to spend time, which kept me from wasting precious minutes during a very full day. Hassan was great at giving me options and suggesting places to visit if I had time/interest. I would highly recommend him and will definitely seeking him out when I return to Egypt in the future.
The sunrise hot air balloon ride was incredible full of breathtaking views. The day then was full of amazing visits at temples, tombs, and local food. Our tour guide Hassan was an absolute legend and was so knowledgeable about each spot and Egyptian history!
We had an amazing day with Hassan. By far the highlight of the trip. This was a bucket list day! Thank you so much Hassan!
We took this tour because we only really had one day in Luxor. The hot air balloon was really cool. We didn’t know but if you do this tour we recommend asking your hotel for a food box or pack something because you won’t eat until lunch. It is a long day of seeing all the sights but we had a great air conditioned car and driver with cold bottled water and a cooler if you bring more water you can leave it there to stay cold. We had Hassan as our tour guide. Best guide ever! We really loved his knowledge and that he let us explore after telling us stories about the sites. My husband really love the Habu Temple that Hassan recommended. We highly recommend the tour and ask for Hassan as your guide! Also lunch was delicious!
Great tour to go around the key sites in Luxor. Very efficient yet still have enough time at each site to be educated from the guide to understand the significance of the place + take plenty of pictures. I joined in September when it was over 40 Celsius. Very glad I had a air conditioned car and driver to go around. The guide, Mahmoud Haggag was very informative with the sites and also considerate, kindly asking us if we had enough time etc. Great guide. I’ll give it a 5, since we had an overall good experience, but did see some areas of improvement. Like other 4 star reviews mention, the souvenir alabaster place was pretty pushy, touting visitors to buy things. They would go easily down to 50% of initial indicated price, very untrustworthy. Ended up not getting anything but wasn’t a pleasant experience. Also there was another spice place which had stuff which interested me and I did purchase, but the same, initial price was twice what we eventually agreed to.
Our guide, Hasan Basit, was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. He was accommodating beyond what was necessary, and made us feel like we were sightseeing with a friend. He was very engaged with the information and was clearly passionate about what he was telling us. Overall an exceptional guide and man. We wish him the best & recommend him with gusto!
This tour was as beautiful as all the sights in Luxor. Our guide, Ragab the Great was a warm and friendly host that knows his Egyptian history. He tailor made the tour to fit our needs and was patient throughout the whole experience as we took in the breathtaking sights. After, we were treated to the most amazing lunch with a view of the majestic Nile River. Throughout the entire trip, Ragab helped us find the best prices, take fantastic photos and made this trip a once in a life time experience. If you ever come to Egypt, first see the pyramids then see Ragab the great, you won’t be disappointed Thank you my friend!
Everything about the tour is amazing! Start with the stunning hot air balloon ride, then visit all the main sites on both east and West Bank, with delicious lunch included. Hassan is an extremely friendly and knowledgeable guide who will entertain you all day and does not miss anything. Also a very genuine and amazing human!
The tour guide Hassan is super knowledgeable. I learned a lot through out the day. Great experience, recommend to everyone.
It was great, we had a lovely time and the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend this tour and guide 100%. You will not regret the great time spent. From the beginning of the day until the end everything was planned smoothly. Thank you!!
Our full-day tour of Luxor exceeded our expectations. Our guide Khalid was extremely knowledgeable, spoke very good english, engagingly entertaining, and a skillful photographer. The included lunch was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Our praises as well to our driver Hasan for his driving skills and thoughtfulness. Khalid and Hasan’s services and the quality of the itinerary made our first visit to Luxor a positively memorable experience.
We had an amazing 2.5 days tour with our guide Hassan Abdel Baset. We did a night tour of Luxor Temple, a full day tour of Luxor with hot air balloon and felucca, and a full day tour to Aswan. Hassan is very knowledgeable and passionate about Egyptian history. He had many amusing anecdotes of ancient Egypt and an incredible attention to detail. He is also very kind and went out of his way to get us the “Egyptian prices” at the local fruit stands and convenience stores. The owner Ragab made sure that we were well taken care of throughout our trip.
Everyone in the process of this experience were really responsible and helpful. They were very knowledgeable. Great and fun experience
Favourite part of the experience was our guide Hassan throughout the tour of the Valley of Kings and Luxor Temple etc. Hassan was very knowledgeable and I feel like I learned a lot from him about Egyptian History. Hassan was also very friendly and genuine, I would highly recommend him for anyone interested in the Egyptian mythology and history.
This tour was an amazing way to see the highlights of the ancient sites that Luxor has to offer. Hassan was our guide and he was incredibly knowledgeable and made our experience so much better through his expertise. Also big thank you to our driver, (another Hassan) for transporting us in comfort and always being ready when we were finished in the sites. Would definitely recommend!
Very well organised experience from start to finish. We were picked up from our hotel on time and received the best customer service. The experience was breath taking and well worth the money.
The tour guide Khalid was very knowledgeable. The sites he told us to visit and then explained very interesting and beautiful. And also the driver Sayed was very good as well.
The whole day was well organised. The balloon trip was an amazing experience. The pilot who flew the balloon handled the craft with such ease making it look easy which tells me he was highly experienced. Our guide Hassan was extremely knowledgeable, polite and provided in depth insight into all the sites we visited . Would recommend this tour and this guide
It was an awesome experience!!!! Khalid Eltayeb was our guide and he taught us so many things about Egypt. Sayed was our driver and he was excellent. They both made the day very easy for us. We did the foul private tour and it was worth it. The food is just ok nothing special but the rest is an amazing experience you have to live!!! Thank you Khalid and Sayed we loved Luxor. Ps:Khalid showed us best spot for photos and took us so many photos
