Luxor To Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples With Aswan Transfer

Our second tour with our amazing team, George and Mamdouh this time travelling all the way to Aswan. It was a long journey, but they made it absolutely smooth, comfortable, and memorable for us. On the way, we stopped to visit two incredible historical sites: Edfu Temple and the Temple of Kom Ombo. George’s detailed knowledge as an Egyptologist shone through once again. At Edfu, he brought the stories of the falcon god Horus to life with amazing facts. When we reached Kom Ombo, which stands beautifully right next to the Nile River, he beautifully explained its unique double-temple design dedicated to both the crocodile and falcon gods. Right there, George truly made us go back in time by giving us a small live show of how the high priest used to function. He demonstrated how a priest would stand in a specific place and talk, and due to the unique acoustic nature of that spot, his voice would echo in a way that made the ancient people believe God Himself was speaking. It was absolutely brilliant to witness. George is truly so passionate about Egyptian tourism, and his storytelling keeps you hooked the entire time. Once again, from the moment we started, he greeted us with his trademark, warm "Hello Family," making us feel just like close relatives throughout the long road trip. Our driver Mamdouh’s driving was also superb. Driving between these cities requires a lot of patience, and he drove so carefully and safely, ensuring we could just relax in the car. His courteous nature and tiny, thoughtful gestures like keeping the car perfectly cool and checking on our comfort really show the high level of hospitality. We are so glad we did both days with George and Mamdouh. High recommendations from our side.

We did a tour of Edfu and Kom Ombo with pickup in Aswan and dropoff in Luxor with our tour guide George. Both temples were fantastic and well worth the trip and we're glad we made the visit on our way to Luxor. George was friendly and informative and very willing to answer all of our follow up questions. He gave us all the info we needed to better understand and appreciate the sights at each temple. Each temple had very unique aspects that we would not have fully appreciated otherwise. Highly recommend this tour and George as our guide!

The day was great! When you arrive, they provide you with a bottle of water. The guide in Edfu was great, a very kind woman who explained everything and answered every question we had. The guide in Kom ombo was very kind and funny too ! The driver picked us up at the hotel a 7.30am. It is about 2.30h drive to edfu, then 1.30h between edfu and kom ombo, and then 1h to aswan. We arrived at the hotel at around about 3pm. Keep in mind that if your hotel is on the west bank, it might be a little tricky for the driver to get there, they will suggest to leave you at the ferry terminal (for a 10egp cost, do NOT pay more than 10egp at the ferry counter). However our driver was kind enough to make the detour and leave us directly at our hotel !! Thanks alot ! We had a great time !

Our guide in Luxor was absolutely great! His knowledge of ancient Egyptian history was impressive and he explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He made every site remembered!🌸 He was also very attentive, patient and made sure we were comfortable throughout the trip. His English was excellent and communication was effortless, he also answered for all of the questions (also silly ones) Truly a wonderful experience — I highly recommend him to anyone visiting Luxor🫶🏻

Using the Forums we were lucky to have found a guide with driver that was with us from airport arrival through departure one week later. Our guide, Mahmoud Haggag, an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Egyptologist. His concern for making the most of our time, as well as our well-being, was beyond our expectations. One of the highlights of our time in Luxor was sailing on the Nile at dusk on a private felucca arranged by our guide, Mahmoud Haggag, with a friend of his who captained the sail boat. We spent the evening watching the sun set and listening to the music that played around us. A great evening after a wonderful day touring the Valley of the Kings.

The day tour with Mahmoud Haggag was excellent. Much more than sightseeing as Mr. Haggag gave historical background for every sight. BUT what was truely exceptional was the Nile River boat ride he convinced us to do. Saling on the Nile was like rolling the clock back 4,000 years in time. Thanks Mahmoud for everything

A non-stop day of amazing history. Our guide, Mahmoud Haggag, picked us up in the morning at our hotel in Luxor (Winter Palace, which he recommended) and drove us first to Edfu. The temple here is one of the most interesting, and we spent half the day exploring. We then headed to Kom Ombo further south where Mahmoud was able to show and explain both Greek and Roman influence in the architecture and engavings of the temple.
