Luxor Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Ride With Hotel Pickup

A great experience and would definitely recommend. Awesome view of the tombs and temples of Luxor while the sun rises. Captain Ali provided Commentary and information throughout which rounded off the experience.

The pick up was punctual, staff friendly, price fair and view was beautiful.

Our guide Essam explained the geology of the area below us during the balloon ride. He pointed out the desert and the fertile land. It was fascinating to see the contrast. We floated over Luxor and saw the temples. The sunrise was beautiful and we took photos. The balloon was comfortable and we felt safe. The landing was smooth and we celebrated with tea. The whole experience was geological and educational. Admission fee was 100 usd for the 45 minute ride. Length of visit was about 3 hours. Atmosphere was geological and educational. Crowd size was about 10 people in our basket. Staff were experts on geology. Best for solo travelers who love earth science. Yasser had given us a geology guidebook

My wife was happy with the smooth landing of the hot air balloon. She had been worried about a rough landing. Our pilot Yasser made it perfect. We saw the temples and the Nile from above. The sunrise was beautiful and she took photos. She was relieved and happy. The crew were professional and skilled. The whole experience was smooth and wonderful. Admission fee was 120 usd each. Length of visit was about 3 hours. Atmosphere was smooth and relieving. Crowd size was about 8 people in our basket. Staff were skilled and precise. Best for couples who worry about landings. Yasser had told us the landing would be perfect.

My kids loved the view of the Nile from the balloon. They said it looked like a snake. Our guide Nabila told them about the river. We saw the temples and the desert from above. The sunrise was beautiful and they were excited. The landing was smooth and they gave the pilot a hug. The crew were great with children and made it fun. The whole experience was joyful and memorable for them. Admission fee was 90 usd per adult and 60 per child. Length of visit was about 3 hours. Atmosphere was joyful and fun. Crowd size was about 12 people in our basket. Staff were great with kids. Best for families with kids who love rivers. Yasser had given them a Nile coloring book.

SCAM - DO NOT USE. They booked us in during August for an 1hr baloon ride. They messaged the day before saying the baloons were not running because of the “weather”. 2 local guides and an online search confirmed that the baloons had actually not been running all summer. To avoid paying a refund, they changed the description of the service on the ticket to a day tour around Luxor.

They booked us balloon ride in late August. But no one allowed to fly a balloon between 1st June to 31st August by law. Then they told me it is cancelled because of bad weather, which was a total lie. It was not the weather, by law no one can fly. If I knew about it before I would come to luxor few days later. I was looking forward to see luxor from above. They ruined it by their lie.

Customer service is quite poor. We couldn’t do the hot air ride after riding 10hrs from Cairo to Luxor just for the ride. The operator didn’t deem it fit to tell us a day or two before the date we booked because they wanted to avoid full cancellation instead they told me on the evening of the day before my booking knowing that I couldn’t cancel without losing my full payment. They also insisted to only a 40% refund for not doing the hot air even though I showed proof from their pricing that we should be getting at least 60% refund. Even with the 40%, they still haven’t refunded till now and not responding to messages. I’ll give a 7 days grace period after which I will report to trip advisor and take legal action with the help of my bank. Also, we had to pay extra around 25$ PP for the entry tickets at the temples on the tour which was cleverly not indicated in the exclusions nor inclusions. I do not recommend. Only good thing was Mo the tour guide who was very detailed.

Disappointed that the hot air balloon ride was cancelled for the season but i was only notified the day before. Nonetheless made the best of what remained. Dr. Mo is an expert who has studied Egypt's history extensively and shares that knowledge with passion. His explanations are thorough and he gives great recommendations including a great lunch stop. He has an open mind and welcomes alternative views and discussions. I purchase extra stops on the tour, although we didn't get to all of them, the ones I saw were cool. I didn't like the "explore alone" parts too much, I would've just bought an audio guide if I wanted to explore alone. I generally enjoyed this tour!

My friend lost his sunglasses at the launch site before we even took off. He was upset but our pilot Hani found them in the van. He was relieved. We then enjoyed the ride and saw the temples below. The sunrise was beautiful and he took photos. The landing was smooth and he was happy. The crew were helpful and honest. The whole experience was great despite the scare. Originally booked for the hot air balloon and full day tour. Directly after booking, I messaged Dr. Mo to clarify that the hot air balloon would happen he replied with a thumbs up. 24 hours later when it was too late to cancel he then messaged me and says there is no hot air balloon only the tour. If you are on a budget, do not book this tour there are costs that you are not informed about and you will be paying extra for each stop including lunch. I asked the tour guide in advance. If there were anything else I would need to pay for his response was no however when we got to each site we had to purchase entry tickets. They did not even provide us with Water, every tour I’ve been on they’ve given us water because it is quite hot outside.

The tour was good, but there are details I described that I wish I had known before booking. I booked in April for an experience in June. One thing to know is that Egyptian tourism routinely* shuts down hot air balloons for three months during the hottest time of year. I booked this experience in April to visit in June, and my biggest disappointment was that the company advertised the hot air balloon when they knew this would not be possible. This was confirmed by both my hostel and a family I met through an AirBnB experience- everyone told me it was not possible that I had booked a hot air balloon and were confused how this was allowed to happen. The company did communicate the day before the tour to say the hot air balloon was cancelled due to weather. Which is not the complete truth but it is true. At that point, it was too late to cancel or reevaluate whether I wanted to change tours. This felt dishonest to me because they knew in advance the hot air balloon would not have been possible. I requested a 30% refund because we did not do 1/3 of the experience with TripAdvisor. The tour itself was average to good. It was a quick pace set by our guide, so we had to ask for more time at each site. Our guide gave us information in the car and at the beginning of the sites, but they did not walk into the tombs with us or continue to give a detailed explanation. Instead we were given time to explore independently. Again, that is ok, and the reason I gave three stars. It got the job done, and most of the experience was as described.

We are disappointed with the way this booking has been handled. The hot air balloon ride was a major reason we made this reservation, yet it appears that balloon flights do not operate during the summer period. Given that this information would have been known at the time of booking, we do not believe the activity should have been offered as available. While we appreciate that a partial refund was provided for the balloon ride, we were left with no practical option to cancel the remainder of the booking once the main attraction was removed. We do not feel it is reasonable to expect customers to proceed with the rest of the tour under these circumstances, especially when the booking was made based on the inclusion of the hot air balloon experience.

We booked the Hot Air Balloon + Half day tour around the West Bank. Unfortunately, the hot air balloon ride got cancelled due to the windy conditions so we did the tour around West Bank. We had Mo as our tour guide and he was so great at guiding us. In regard to the hot air balloon ride, we were able to reschedule easily the next morning and thankfully, the weather was perfect. Mo was the pilot of the hot air balloon as well and he was very smooth at piloting. Made the whole thing experience easy and smooth. Had the best time!

The flight was really impressive and worth to try. It would be perfect if the operation could be better, we had been waiting for the driver to pick us up at the hotel for nearly 2 hours, and very close to missing the sunrise view. After all, it’s quite a nice trip.

It was an amazing and unforgettable experience. My family and I really enjoyed every moment. Everything was well organized from start to finish, and the views were absolutely stunning. Our representative, Mohamed, was very good, friendly, and helpful. He made everything easy and comfortable for us, and you can tell he really cares about his work. I highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Luxor. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I would definitely do it again.

Excellent experience, picked up on time, took an hour to get the other passengers which made us late for the ballon so unfortunately there was no time to watch the ballon’s getting inflated on the ground. We jumped straight on! Mo our captain was very experienced and funny and we had a smooth flight and landing.

The Hot Air Balloon ride was Great! Better than we ever imagined. The views were spectacular. Our pilot was excellent. Ground crew were great The travel to the site was terrible. We were a group of 8. They arrived at the pick up site on time. Then we spent over an hour driving around trying to fill up the van, some stops no one got on! Because of all of the driving around we arrived at the launch site just after sunrise. We had specifically booked a sunrise balloon ride. We then spent another 30+ minutes waiting for authorization to take off, by then well after sunrise Please don’t offer and charge for a sunrise tour if you can’t have us there in time (there were about 40 balloons that had launched before we arrived and did get to see sunrise)

Very disappointing experience. I paid for the hot air balloon, but it was canceled and I never received a refund, which is completely unacceptable. On top of that, during the private half-day tour in Luxor, the guide charged me an extra €30 for Tutankhamun’s tomb, which was not clearly explained beforehand. The overall experience was very poor. The information provided was extremely basic, and the guide did not explain important aspects of Egyptian history or culture. He mostly took me to shops where I was expected to spend money, rather than focusing on the actual sites. At the tombs, he didn’t even go inside or provide any meaningful explanation. I was left alone after just a few minutes to look around without guidance. Overall, not worth the money at all and I would not recommend this service.

To start we did not do the hot air balloon. They canceled that part and said it was due to the weather. The weather was literally perfect that morning. However, The trip started off good. The tour guide was knowledgeable and kept the humor up throughout the trip. However we took two extra stops that felt like a time share experience. The first one we were taken to a store and the tour guide made it seem like the pieces in the store were handmade by the workers there but when you go to other parts of the tour, you see the same pieces being sold for way cheaper at other locations. Also the workers at the shop were heckling us bad about tips. Of course the tickets are not included in the experience but we did not know you have to pay for extra transportation at the sites as well and that is it cash only. The sites were nice and we did get to experience the sites for a good minute. The lunch was also nice as well. The worst part of this trip was the drop off. It was only 4 of us on the excursion. They dropped off the first person and the second person with no issue. However when it was time for me and my husband turn to get dropped off; on the way to our hotel, two random guys hopped into the van with us! With us being tourist, we did not know what was going on. We felt completely unsafe and uneasy with the two extra guys randomly hopping into the van. There was no warning from the tour guide about these two extra guys. You would’ve thought it was a set up. My husband did speak up and asked if the guys were also coming to our hotel which the tour guide said that they were not going to our hotel but just coming along with him. Once again, that’s a very scary experience especially when you are the only two tourist in the van with four other men and two of the men are random. I never experience anything like this before on any trip. This entire experience made me not want to visit Luxor again as a whole. I would not recommend this excursion to anyone!

Absolutely amazing experience. To see so many balloons flying across the valley as the sun rose with the temples as a backdrop was an unforgettable experience. Our pilot Ali was excellent from start to finish. Can't recommend enough!

Excellent experience with Captain Ali and his team. Very well organised from beginning to end. We did the after sunrise hot air balloon trip and, having previously done a sunrise experience, I think I prefer this time slot. Watching the balloons already in the sky was entrancing, then seeing how they land so gently and gracefully with the full on the ground team assisting helped a lot with nerves. We went gently across the West Bank temples, seeing Tombs of Nobles, Workers village, Ramasseum, Medinat Habu all from above, and finally landing very very gently a way out but still accessible to the minibus - already waiting for us. Captain Ali was perfect - great reassurance, skillful, directed the balloon to allow us all to get good panoramic shots Highly recommend
