I had such an incredible experience with this Mike and Go Luxor Tours last year (2025) that I came back again this year — and they exceeded my expectations all over again! We did an eight day tour starting in Luxor, cruise down the Nile to Aswan and then back to Cairo for the GEM and pyramids. From start to finish, the service was truly five-star. Our trip was fantastic, we had great tour guides from start to finish. Mike, who also helped us put the trip together was incredible. He helped us plan the perfect trip and knew all of the best and authentic local shops. He helped us avoid huge crowds and provided us with the rich history of the area while also doubling as a phenomenal photographer. We took so many beautiful photos thanks to him. Mike arranged everything for the 7 days we were in Egypt. From Cairo to Aswan, all the way to Luxor and back to Cairo. We also had a great experience cruising down the Nile and getting a true once in a lifetime experience. The culture was beautiful and everyday we tried new foods, coffee, teas and snacks that truly embody the history of Egypt. The prices were very fair and competitive. Every penny was worth it for us and we got way more out of our trip than we expected based on the value. Absolutely surreal experience! We booked our entire Nile Cruise through Go Luxor Tours, and everything was phenomenal. From the initial pickup to the personalized attention regarding our interests, pace, and managing the heat, they handled it all perfectly. Whilst in Egypt, we had Mike at Go Luxor organise our entire two weeks of tours and transfers. From the beginning Mike was incredibly helpful in planning our trip through Egypt with Go Luxor Tours. He helped us design an itinerary to see everything we wanted to see in Cairo and Luxor, we just had to book our own hotels which was nice because then we could stay where we wanted, though he also gave us recommendations for places to stay and we went with both of his suggestions, they were great!We then got to spend 2 days with Mike as our tour guide visiting the West Bank of Luxor for the valley of the kings and temple of Hatshepsut one day with a stop to see how alabaster is used. Mike was incredibly informative and friendly. He answered all of our questions and helped us choose the more interesting tombs to visit in the valley of the kings always making sure to find us shade or a cooler place when he was telling us about the history of each location as it was 50C. He helped us find great locations for pictures and even took us to a lovely spice shop when I asked if he had any recommendations for places to buy spices. Mike even joined us for a sunset cruise on the Nile giving us the opportunity to learn even more about Egyptian culture. The next day we toured Karnak and Luxor temples, stopped at a perfume/oil shop where I didn’t think we’d buy anything but still walked out with a couple essential oils because they were so good, and then Mike got us the best falafel in Luxor! Our trip in Egypt and the Nile River cruise were truly incredible! We were on a private tour of seven with Mike, who has been a phenomenal tour guide for us. From start to finish, Mike's communication was exceptional, exceeding our expectations. He is very responsive and on time. His in-depth knowledge of historical sites in Aswan: the Philae Temple, Abu Simbel Temple, and the Nubian Village in is remarkable. The trips to the Karnak Temple, the Luxor Temple, the Hatshepsut Temples and the Valley of the Kings were equally inspiring and educational!! Mike also went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience – from recording videos of the birds chirping along the Nile river, arranging a breathtaking hot air balloon ride, taking us to the essential oil, spice shops, the night market, and the stone factory per our request. He was truly an amazing person and guide who made sure everyone’s interests and needs were taken care of throughout the trip. As for our trip in Cairo, our friendly, knowledgeable guide, Faddy not only took us to the majestic pyramid, but also arranged our group for camel ride, an educational visit to the Egyptian museum, a stop at the papyrus shop, the cotton clothing store, and an authentic Egyptian restaurant for the delicious national Koshari. It was well planned and fun experience for us all! Last but not the least, my suggestion would be stay attentive to Mike’s tips about the culture and surrounding environment - it would save you a lot of stress and trouble. I am a New Yorker/ Solo Female traveler visiting Luxor for the first time and the minute I connected with Mike, I knew Go Luxor Tours was the best choice. We took 4 tours with Go Luxor Tours - The Giza Pyramids & Museum, Luxor East (Karnak and Luxor Temples), Luxor West and Abu Simbel, as well as private transfer from Luxor to Aswan. As 2 young female travellers, we really appreciate how Mike, the liaison / coordinator, checked in frequently with us to make sure we were safe and having a good time. The best feature of GoLuxor’s service is adaptiveness. We did not vibe very well with the guiding style of our Luxor West guide, and Mike acted swiftly on our feedback and got us a new guide which perfectly fit our preferences for the next day. He was really responsive, and helped us adapt to Egypt, even outside the scope of the tours per se (e.g helping call our Elphantine Island accomodations to make sure we could navigate to them safely, providing detailed instructions on how to take the train from aswan to cairo). 10/10 rating for customer service in this regard! If you are choosing between private or group tour elsewhere, after having done all these tours, I would personally really recommend doing Giza Pyramids and the Luxor East with GoLuxor at least. These sites have so many small details you would miss without a guide with you, and the private guides we had (shoutout especially to Albeer for Giza and Bishoy for Luxor East) were so patient in answering our hundreds of questions, and their passion and enthusiasm made the experience all the more magical! It was so cool especially watching them read the random heiroglyphs we would point to on demand. I can’t lie, Egypt itself is a bit overwhelming as 2 female solo travellers (especially tipping culture, if you come from non-tipping countries pls pls PLS ask either the company or your hosts or anybody for advice because this was personally the most jarring part for me) but GoLuxor tours definitely helped make our experience overall a beautiful and enjoyable one!

I personally think a guide is really needed for this experience. The explanations and details given by our guide, Bishoy, was really helpful in understanding the various minute yet important details of the features of the temples. He was also fun to joke with and was able to answer our questions regarding the temples and the culture in Egypt in general! I would really recommend his presence in your tours as well.

Mike is one of the best tour guides we have experienced with a unique eye for photography and videography. He was super knowledgeable with all the facts about Luxor and Karnak. However what set him apart from the other guides was his ability to find the best spots for photos and provide inputs for different poses / videos.

We had the best experience with Go Luxor Tours. We toured with them not only for 2 days in Luxor but for an additional day to see the Pyramids and museum in Cairo. We four seniors visited Temple of Karnak and Luxor Temple in noon. Our tour guide talked with us in the shades of constructions. Temple of Karnak and Luxor Temple are well-preserved architecture. We visited and spent much time on Luxor Temple. It is a gigantic Egyptian temple complex dedicated to the god Amun. Tour guide delivered informative message that you don’t learn from elsewhere. He said that the statue with their “left foot half step forward” is in this life and “two arms crossed with keys in their hands” is dead.

I used Go Luxor Tours for my trip in Luxor. They picked me up from the airport, they were waiting for me. We started the tour just after my pickup. The driver and the tour guide were very friendly and kind. Also whenever I would have any questions after or before the tour they answered promptly and tried their best to make my requests happen. I couldn't be happier with the one week tour experience. Mike was extremely attentive and knowledgeable in designing a tour package which worked like a well oiled machine. They setup a driver to take us to the hotel, all the tickets for sites were already prepurchased by them in advance and the stress of dealing with many of the intricacies of travel were taken care of. This was the second leg of our trip after leaving Giza/Cario and this part of the trip had some of our favorite places and moments. GoLuxor gave us one of best experiences we have ever been on. We used goluxortours for a wide range of activities and tours in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Abu simbel (including airport transfers and tansits). Bicycle Tour in Luxor : we wanted to visit the temples of Karnak and Luxor by bicycle as we always love to use bikes wherever we travel. Go Luxor Tours was referenced in the Lonely Planet Guide (French version) for bicycle visits. We were staying on the West Bank so Mike picked us up early there and we got the bikes together on the West Bank, then crossed the Nile on the public ferry with the bikes (which was already an experience). We spent the whole morning together with Mike and his company was great : not only for the quality of the historic guiding in the temples but also for the richness of the exchanges with Mike talking about Egypt: history, politics, religion, sociology, demography, covid, litterature ... We could have very open and thorough discussions on all these subjects and for us, discovering a country with our European glasses, it was very fruitful to have an Egyptian point of view. On top of all this, Mike spoke a perfect English, was super professional for the organisation of the trip and always very reactive on Whatsapp.

I had a really nice time on a tour with Mike in Luxor this month (December 2024). I was on a compressed timeline and so I had only one full day in Luxor. Still, Mike was able to arrange an excellent itinerary on both the East and West Banks, so I got to see everything I wanted to, including Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s Mortuary Temple, the Colossi, and Karnak and Luxor Temples, with lunch. Mike moved at my pace, was very knowledgeable, and able to answer all my questions with ease. The driver he arranged was excellent, drove very safely (even by international standards), and was always there waiting on time. The car was brand new, comfortable and air conditioned. Mike’s got a good knowledge of the crowds and how the other tour companies operate, so I never felt like we were fighting foot traffic in the major sights and I was even able to see a couple of the popular tombs at the Valley of the Kings when they were relatively uncrowded, even though my trip fell squarely in the middle of the busy season. I can definitely recommend Mike and Go Luxor tours! (And, if your schedule allows, consider leaving “early” (7.30) like I did - I think that might’ve helped, and at a minimum you might be able to beat the worst of the heat!)

We had a full 11 days of tour in Egypt with Go Luxor Tours (Cairo, Pyramids, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Nile cruise, Luxor) and it was great. Perfectly organised, very gentle and professional guides. Today I toured the East Bank temples -- Karnak and Luxor -- with Bishoy as my guide. Bishoy was very nice, soft-spoken, and eager to point out the unique aspects and hidden gems of the temples. He was clearly passionate about these structures! I appreciated that I never once felt rushed and I was also thankful that Bishoy offered to take photos of me at the temples as I'm very shy about asking! Overall it was a lovely tour!
