Full Day Luxor Highlights, Private Tour With Lunch

We had Hamdy as our guide and Syed as our driver for 2 days. Both of these gentlemen were amazing. Always on time and had wast knowledge of history and events. They made the whole experience engaging yet comfortable.

I am currently in Egypt and happy to share that I can highly recommend Far and Beyond Travel without any hesitation. Although they are based in Luxor, they operate across all of Egypt and deliver an exceptional level of service. From the start, the team did a fantastic job organising all our tours and transfers exactly to our preferred schedule. Everything ran smoothly, and we felt completely at ease throughout our trip. Our journey began in Luxor, where we were guided by an outstanding Egyptologist, Alaadin.. His knowledge and passion for Egypt’s history were truly inspiring. It was incredible to learn that he is the grandson of the young boy who discovered Tutankhamun’s tomb accidentally by dropping a bucket of water—such a unique and personal connection to history. Alaadin was kind, patient, and incredibly engaging. His storytelling brought ancient Egypt to life, and hearing about his childhood growing up next to a tomb made the experience even more special. He used to play inside and the family kept chickens in it. We wish him all the best of luck on upcoming archeology digs! All the drivers who took care of us were also excellent—professional, friendly, and always made us feel safe and well looked after. As it’s impossible to see everything Egypt has to offer in one trip, we are already planning to return—and we will definitely be booking with Far and Beyond Travel again when Nefertari’s tomb reopens. They have been absolutely amazing from start to finish. A special thank you to Alaadin, Yassin and Mariska for their impeccable service!

We set out at 8am (in retrospect I would recommend starting earlier as it got hot and crowded) and our guide Allehdin was great at guiding us to the the sites, through the administrative part of buying tickets and buggy rides and then explaining the interior of the tombs and temples. He didn’t come in with us, which we thought was unusual as there was a lot that needed explanation inside the places but was great before and after. It’s a long day, I would skip the alabaster workshop and stick to tombs and temples as they try to charge the craziest of prices for things you can buy online cheaper, you don’t learn much either. Whereas the rest of the day was incredible, the conservation on the sites it great, toilets kept clean and with the exception of pushy tourists in overcrowded corridors and endless wannabe instagrammers taking photos everywhere you get to see and learn so much about the pharaohs, gods and history. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had the most incredible full-day Luxor highlights tour with Aladdin and our driver Mahmoud. From the moment we started, they made us feel less like tourists and more like family—so warm, kind, and genuinely caring. Aladdin’s knowledge was absolutely outstanding. Every site came to life through his storytelling, and you could really feel his passion for the history and culture. It honestly felt like one of the most informative and engaging tours we’ve ever had. Mahmoud was also amazing—such a safe, smooth driver and always attentive, making sure we were comfortable throughout the day. Together, they made this experience unforgettable. If you’re visiting Luxor, you’d be so lucky to have them—highly, highly recommend!

We had an absolutely incredible experience exploring the wonders of Luxor with our tour guide “Reem”. She made our entire journey even more special. She explained the stories behind the temples and tombs in an engaging and clear way. Every wall carving, hieroglyph, burial chamber had meaning and Reem main sure we truly understood and appreciated what we saw. She was also patient, friendly and attentive to our pace and interests. If you are planning to visit Luxor, I highly recommend Reem.

The day was great! Lots of walking as expected. Our guide was very informative, made it much more interesting than if we just went and saw the places by ourselves. Lunch was great, it was very fun to talk about different cultures and foods! As always, be careful with prices on everything.

Alaadin was an exemplary guide and the perfect person to show us around Luxor, accompany us on our 4 day Nile River cruise aboard the Dahabiya Kingfisher. He is incredibly knowledgeable, personable and has a great sense of humour and it was a joy to spend time with him. I’d highly recommend Alaadinto guide and Far and Beyond to plan your trip.

Ahmed was our guide and he was wonderful! Very knowledgeable of the history of each site and was a great storyteller! Also, lunch was fantastic! Truly worth it!

Hamdi was a terrific and thoughtful guide. I had an exceptional tour of Luxor, seeing all of the highlights as well as some lesser visited locations. Hamdi made excellent recommendations that suited my interests, was flexible to my preferances and asks, and in addition to being incredibly knoweldgeable, he's wonderful company for an amazing day. There was not a single question I asked that he couldn't answer, and I honestly can't imagine seeing Luxor without a quality guide- you'd miss so much of the significance and detail of these truly exceptional sites. FWIW, Solo female traveler- felt very safe and Hamdi went above and beyond to make sure I wasn't hassled by vendors or randos looking for tips to take your photo. If youre good with warm temps, recommend low season for low crowds. Zero lines at any of the locations.

Just returned yesterday from a fabulous 10 days in Egypt. We booked our initial hotel in luxor only from the UK and then came across 'Far and Beyond Travel' and Yassin who are situated next to the Winter Palace Hotel. Our Luxor East and West Bank tour , all travel to and from Airports and internal travel including flights and sightseeing in Cairo were booked through Yassin. What can I say, except, FABULOUS!!!! The Luxor full day East and West bank tour and Cairo 2 day tours were amazing. The guide Mamoud in Luxor was out of this world, the information and knowledge he was able to share was outstanding and in Cairo we had 2 days visiting the sites and museums with Michael. Internal travel including flights were reasonably priced, ran smoothly and really made our holiday go perfectl. The guides in Cairo which Yassin also organised a full two day touring before our return to luxor.ally would recommend anyone travelling to Egypt to not waste time using other operators and use Yassin and Far and Beyond travel. They are so professional, reasonable and offer the best service. I can't wait to go back to Egypt with all the family and I will certainly be using Yassin for my bookings. Thank you Yassin for making our holiday so memorable and easy for us.

I had an amazing 2 day tour of Luxor with Hamdi as my guide. The full day in the West Bank was incredible and we saw everything there was to see even a couple places most people miss. The lunch that day was also delicious; one of the best meals I had in Egypt! The second day was shorter for the East Bank sites (there is just less to see) but it was still great. Hamdi was very informative and was one of the best guides I had across Egypt.

I had one day to see Luxor and these guys put everything I needed together in a fantastic experience! I looked at day trip experiences from Cairo and booked my own flight so all I needed as my day set up and from the moment I arrived it was ON. My guide was Mohamed, who ascertained my needs and style very quickly, delivering again and again with the perfect amount of interactions and showing me as much as I could see in my single day in Luxor. Lunch was exceptional also. 10/10 would recommend and would rebook if I have any opportunity in the future

Yes, yes, & yes! Was it worth it? Yes! Was it safe? Yes! Did we learn a lot? Yes! No, you should not try this trip on your own! This was amazing and we would have done so many things wrong if we had tried this on our own! We normally plan our own trips and navigate our own way. We are beyond thankful that our friends, who had come before, recommended us to do things through this group! Absolutely made our trip!

The tour guide (Hamdy) is a very professional, passionate and knowledgeable Egyptologist. His sharing of information, description of ancient Egyptian history gave us a clearer understanding of this country and it's beautiful culture. Great service. Highly recommended.

We had a great “all inclusive” experience at Luxor, starting from greeting us at airport, driving to Maklata house, delicious dinner, breakfast, full day tour with Alaadin, lunch, and drop off at the airport. The service was excellent. Everything was well planned and smooth. Meals at Maklata house are the best we tested in Egypt, and a day with Alaadin was full of stories, history, ending with a relaxing stop to watch sun set as per our request. Great experience overall!

We enjoyed every second of our tour. Everything was organised to the detail. From hot air ballooning to temple visiting and felucca sailing in Nile. Our tour guide Aladdin was the best and really enriched our visits to the temples with his limitless knowledge of the history behind them.

We had Aladdin as our tour guide and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better! He has many year experience and degrees/Masters as well as a strong family history that relates to what we are seeing! Aladdin knows everyone and everyone knows him! This makes it easy for us whenever we go somewhere new we know we will be taken care of. The way the tour is structured is perfect- We get little nuggets of knowledge before we enter, then sit down to get the full story of what we are about to see! This was fantastic as we could truly appreciate what we were seeing once we knew what we were looking at! Aladdin was able to answer ALL of our questions whatever the topic and we a very funny and likable guy to have around for the day! We did the Luxor day trip with him but he does to other trips and places- Be sure to book in advance and he is very sort-after! Overall a very knowledgeable experience perfectly explained, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Spending the day with Alaadin was absolutely the most immersive and educational experience. Alaadin is so knowledgeable and descriptive with his explanations it made it seem as if my wife and I were walking among the pharaohs. It’s one thing to see such great historical monuments, but we were transported back in time. Even when it came time for lunch, it was the best experience. We dined rooftop looking over the fertile Nile valley. And just when I thought the day couldn’t get any better, I find myself sailing a felucca on the Nile river. If you would like to experience Luxor from the perspective of someone who is entrenched in the history, please choose to spend your time with Alaadin.

Being a first time solo traveler, I chose Far and Beyond Travel after reading reviews after reviews on Tripadvisor. Those raving reviews were right. I had an amazing time despite not feeling well and had to ask the guide and driver to wait for me for 3 hours. Alaadin was gracious. He even requested the chef to make me some beef and potato soup instead of the normal lunch to help ease my upset stomach. The soup was delicious, by the way (Thank you Malkata House!). Since I was terribly late, Alaadin explained how the day will go and gave me options. I still got to see almost everything in the itinerary albeit an abbreviated version. I voluntarily chose not to see some places because the heat was getting to me. Nothing was pushed on me to have to see or visit. I loved the tour and would definitely come back, in great health, to experience everything including the meal I missed. Alaadin is very knowledgeable and was able to explain things clearly. Not only is he a tour guide but he is also an archaeologist. Another tour guide also told me something about Alaadin's family. But you have to ask Alaadin when you get him as your guide. Thank you so much for your understanding with how I was feeling and patience with my questions and for the lovely tour of Luxor's ancient past. Had a stellar private tour with Alaadin as guide in Luxor, where we explored all the highlights of this magnificent city. Alaadin was very knowledgeable, personable and caring guide. The temples and tombs came alive with his fantastic descriptions of them. The lunch with view of the desert was also a highlight of the experience. Overall this is an amazing way to explore Luxor within a day's time.

I had booked a 3 night stay in Luxor for 3 girlfriends and I for my 30th birthday. We took one full day to travel to Abu Simbel but spent 2 whole days on our own customized tour of multiple temples in Luxor. Saber was a PHENOMENAL guide and Egyptologist. He made the experience so much fun as well as informative. He answered all our crazy small little questions AND managed to take AMAZING photo and video content for my group of friends and I that made everyone at home so jealous. His photography alone is so professional and he could definitely charge a professional amount for that service. Everything was so seamlessly organized and well planned. I am SO glad I didn’t experience touring Luxor from the Nile cruises or from big tour companies- bc I truly felt like we were more their guests instead of their clients. It seemed that in multiple rooms in many of the temples- Saber would shake the hand of someone he knew. It just reaffirmed how amazing it was to book through this local company because we knew we were supporting local people whose families have inhabited this land for generations. Do not hesitate to book through this company- you will not regret it!

I enjoyed the way the host organized everything seamlessly. It was truly enjoyable when we were picked up for our guided tour until we were dropped back home. We had been assigned two guides (one had a previous commitment), and it was hard to determine who was the best because they were both knowledgeable and friendly and answered all my annoying questions with pleasure. I learned a lot during this tour, and I found it was more than just a show and tell but a real educational experience. I enjoyed myself so much that originally we were supposed to leave on a Tuesday and decided to extend our visit. My husband and I have decided we want to return next year since we had so much fun. I hope to encourage a few friends to join us since I know it will be an amazing experience for them. I recommend you book your trip confidently, knowing the guides are well-informed, friendly, and fun.

TOP TOP TOP notch tour!!! I was a bit “nervous” at first booking a trip as a solo female traveler but my guide Saber and driver Mohammed went above and beyond!! Saber was delightful, professional and the most knowledgeable and not only did I get a head full of Egyptian knowledge, I got a full belly (provided by a private lunch cooked by a chef), and some amazing photos to make everyone jealous! Do this tour, you will not regret it!

Guide was very personable and knowledgeable. Lunch on Nile with traditional boat was very relaxing. Food was good and the crew made it an enjoyable experience. Drivers to/from Luxor were considerate, and music volume was reasonable. Noteably, the trip from the resort on the Red Sea to/from Luxor was 6 hours one way. This is not a bad comment for the tour operator but merely a fact.

This was my first time visiting Luxor and I was very much looking forward to it! We got referred to far and beyond and let me just say that I was extremely shocked by how amazing and truly educated professionals they are! Hamdi our tour guide was one of a kind I truly can’t believe someone with his level of knowledge i got to meet and tour Luxor with! The trip was a huge success! Hasan was great guide. He was professional, knowledgeable, kind, knew how to tell stories about ancient Egypt. We made with him 2 trips: half day to East Luxor and another full day with lunch to West Bank of Luxor. Everything was perfect!!

Loved the experience!! We went to Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Hatshepsut Temple, Karnak, Luxor Temple, and many more. Our guide was the sweetest and very intelligent. All of my airport transfers, private tour, hot air balloon ride were arranged by Far and Beyond Travel. Mr Saber, our Egyptologist/guide who accompanied us throughout the private tour to the East/West bank temples and Valley of the Kings put us at ease, captivated our attention with his amazing narration skills, and was the best we could have hoped for. Special shout-out to Mr Mahmoud, our driver who’s been so patient and would go out of his way to assist my sister on her shopping spree. It’s hard not to fall in love with Luxor when everything has been so meticulously arranged and organized, to make sure we had the most excellent time. Mr Mohamed has been very accommodating and helpful with all our requests and requirements throughout our stay. We’ve been very blessed to be assisted by Far and Beyond Travel, for they are indeed the best.

It was the best tour we had ever done in a city. Explanations were very detailed and the guide, who was an Egyptologist, was very careful with the group and accurate in his explanations. It was a completely private tour for us four and we succeeded to cover all the important temples of the city, plus a beautiful and local lunch, 100% fresh cooked for us. It was not the traditional guided tour but a history experience with a wise and educated Egyptologist (form Luxor itself!) who helped us to understand the past of Ancient Egypt. Saman organized an efficient full day tour of Luxor at a short notice. Unfortunately, we only had a day and a half in Luxor and Saman was able to show us the highlights of the city in an effective manner! I can recommend Saman for future tours!

We really enjoyed our tour with Saber. He went at our pace, which was really important to us, since I have a disability and it's often difficult to keep up with a crowd. We went to Valley of the Kings, Hetchepsuit's temple, and stopped at a handmade Alibastor factory, then had a fantastic lunch. We finished up at Karnak temple. We decided to skip the last stop, Luxor temple, because of my disability I couldn't do anymore. Saber was so helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Hamdi was our tour guide. He did a fantastic job during this detailed and full of information tour around Luxor. Ahmad was our driver. He gave us very good information about Luxor and it's surroundings like agriculture industry and demographics of the area. Our lovely lunch was coocked Chef Hassan. It was fantastically delicious food. All in all we highly recomend this experience. Ahmad and Hamdi and chef Hassan did a fantastic job to make the day a memorable one.

We had a great experience in Luxor. Our tour guide Samah Ahmed was very attentive to us, explained everything in a good pace and also let us some time to explore by ourselves. We had a very generous driver too Who helped me when I had a bit of car sickness. Will def recommend.

We booked multiple tours for four days while in Luxor. We had two tour guides, Hassan and Hamde. Hamde did an excellent job of showing us around Karnak and Luxor Temple. Both temples were impressive and filled with so much history. Hassan was our tour guide for three different days. He also went above and beyond to make sure we experienced everything that we wanted to. This included going out of his way to find us hibiscus tea when we found our new love for it. He always made sure we felt safe, being two females in Egypt for the first time. If you have never been to Egypt before, I highly suggest letting Mohamed book your Egyptologist guides. The knowledge you receive from them is invaluable and your stay will be much more enjoyable. Without the Egyptologist guides I felt that we would have been constantly approached to buy things from local vendors at the tourist sites. The tours were one of the main reasons our trip to Egypt was so memorable and amazing.

We were picked up bright & early by our guide El T, and quickly found ourselves deeply immersed in ancient Egyptian culture. It was clear early on that we were in experienced & safe hands with El T - he was able to smoothly move us via his contacts into incredible tombs, ancient ruins & enormous temples. El T's ability to share his passion & knowledge was outstanding. After almost 2 weeks in Egypt I only now appreciate how lucky we were to share the day with this outstanding Egyptologist. Booking via Viator was straight forward, uncomplicated & I would highly recommend them. Our driver and our hosts for a delicious lunch were also memorable.

Amazing experience! We had just 2 days in Luxor and Hamada managed to turn these days into a deep dive into the culture, the history and spice everything up with great food at a leisure pase. It’s a live mix between National Geographic and Netflix that you get to enjoy in real life. I recommend whole heartedly!

Saber was our guide for this tour and it was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable about Egyptian history and especially the history of the areas around Luxor, and we learned so much. Saber gave us plenty of time at all the best sites in the area, and took great pictures of us too! We had a lot of fun, and Saber made everything stress free by guiding us through every step of the way, from bathroom breaks to refreshments and tram rides. The lunch was SO AMAZING and fresh!! Mohamed’s rooftop dining area was the perfect backdrop for our meal. I would 100% recommend booking with Mohamed’s company if you are in Luxor. Saber’s storytelling made this tour extra special.

Hamdi was brilliant and flexible. We were a large group of six and a baby and he took our travel fatigue with stride, made spur of the moment changes to accommodate the group's needs, and was extremely knowledgable and well-studied about ancient Egypt. Working with other guides on other days, we realize what a gem Hamdi is. I would reach out to him for other visits and will recommend to all my friends.

I definitely recommend Saber as your tour guide- we did the full day Luxor tour and we were tired at the end but we felt like we really saw all of Luxor and had a fantastic day with the fun and knowledgeable local Saber. It was the perfect balance of providing us with the information and context we needed to understand the exhibits, temples, and tombs and giving us time to explore and absorb it ourselves. He is also a great photographer and has clearly been doing this a long time because he knows where all the best photography spots are! Overall, so happy with the tour and although we only had two days booked in Luxor I felt like we were able to see so much through this tour.
