This was a super fun day! Mohammed and Fatima were very kind and hospitable. Mohammed even showed us his farm and let us try some sugarcane. The food was some of the best we’ve had in Egypt. We didn’t book anything after and I recommend that because it was nice to spend more time here. It was quite central as well, a short ride from our hotel. Best class ever!

Very yummy food, went into a little kitchen and prepared all the food (there was so much come with an empty stomach), real tagine over a fire that they made, and even went out into the field and tried some sugarcane. Super delicious thank you Fatima and Mohammed!
While the temples in Luxor are amazing, this was probably our favorite event. Authentic, great service, and delicious food! Thank you, Mohammed!
This is a wonderful cooking experience in Luxor! Mohammed picked us up on the East Bank and we made a chicken tagen and veggie tagen and fried eggplant. The kitchen is next to their spice shop so I was able to buy spices at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this cooking experience.
This was a great experience from start to finish. We were picked up by Mohammed from our hotel with a motorboat and crossed to the West Bank. Upon arrival we got on his motorbike, all three of us, and scooted off through the streets to pick up final ingredients and some fresh bread. When we arrived at the kitchen he introduced us to the lovely Fatima who helped during the cooking process. We helped to prepare the ingredients, learnt about the herbs and spices used and even got to take home a small tagine from Mohammed. My husband went into the surrounding fields owned by Mohammed and we got to try freshly cut sugarcane - delicious! There was absolutely no pressure to buy any spices etc from the shop, and Mohammed and Fatima were both excellent hosts. If we were staying longer we’d be back again, my husband who is a chef will be putting the recipes learnt on the menu!
Mohammed was a generous and accommodating host. He explained the many spices and herbs in his shop. Leaned to cook Egyptian chicken, okra and salad. The food was delicious and am looking forward to making it at home.
Barry and his team were great. We got a text the night before confirming pick up and plans. We did this cooking class as a family and had a great time. The kitchen is located within the family spice shop. We were given nice welcome drinks and then jumped into cooking. We were educated on the local spices and cooking practices but were never pressured to buy anything. It's not that type of tour. If you are looking for a no fuss first hand view of local life, I would highly recommend this tour. The finished product was so tasty!
Amazing food and good company. The family made us feel welcome, and allowed us to participate in local traditions. Also, the health shop is a gem.
I was looking for a different kind of experience in Luxor. Some friends advised me this one, I booked it and enjoyed it so much. The whole concept, the hosts and food are just GREAT.
We had a really lovely two days being toured by Marwa Fatafeat Elsoker, she was very informative and helpful. The sites were breathtaking and Marwa's explanations were wonderful - can highly recommend her! She showed us around the valleys of the Kings and Queens, the colossi of Memnon, Hatshepsut's temple, the nobles tombs, and the karnak and luxor Temples. It was the perfect addition to our trip.
excellent experience, comfortable car, conscientious, thoughtful, Caring and generous. I really enjoyed my time in Luxor
The views were immaculate and the tour guide was amazing! We learned so much about how they cook there and the different spices they use. They took us to a local market to get the ingredients and the food was too good! I’m definitely going back!
It was an amazing experience and new thing to discover how this city is beautiful and marwa is very very very helpful and cute one thxxx much thx for you help and your time hope to be with you again
Cooking class was soooo much fun. Noah introduced us to some FANTASTIC food and the ladies were so patient and instructive. We left knowing how to prepare some dishes when we return back home. The Egyptian Tagine and Egyptian salad was my favorite.
The food in Egypt always tastes different but so good. As soon as I saw this tour online I booked it! This was the missing part in my trips before: the food culture. We started with a freshly made lemon juice or a Karkadeh tea, then we chose all ingreditients, herbs and spices. The chef showed how to make a typical egyptian meal with bread, salad and the famous falafel, it was delicious. Thanks Barry and The Opulence of Egypt for this amazing tour.
Trip was wonderful, informative and fun. The organization was great. I needed to text about times/confirmation and someone got back with me right away.
The guide Marwa fatafeat elsoker has been very kind and attentive to us, the experience would not have been the same without her, she is the best in all of Egypt. She explained everything to us very well. 100% recommendable
We had a really nice time. Great tour guide Marwa, she explained a lot about the history. And we also had time to discover the temples by our selves. The food was good but not too special.
Barry (the guide of this tour) was so kind and he explained me a lot of histories and stories of the places. With this tour, I was able to visit all of Luxor's main tourist attractions in one trip. You should definitely book this tour when you visit Luxor.
We took an amazing trip with tour guide Marwa fatafeat elsoker , she was very helpful and has a very nice smile and big information we didn't know ,, she was the best tour guide for us in luxor
Thank you to Marwa Fatafeat Elsoker! A wonderful guide, very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable and knows all the best lunch spots! Thank you for a wonderful tour, the best way to see Luxor is with Marwa!
From the beginning of 'Hi my name is Marwa to the last evening bye take care, will meet you soon sharo' it was great experience with you!You are so talented and so passionate about your work that everyone needs this kind of attention and care from a guide cum friend like yours! Will cherish the moment we spent at the day trip, you will be always special,as long as I remember about Egypt I will remember you !I made a friend over there!wish you a future endeavours, and definitely will tell others about your hard work and guidance! Thanks a lot
I had a great experience in Luxor! Our guide Barre was knowledgeable, vibrant and unique which we really enjoyed. Tajines taste with spice excellent and chef was great at cooking class. I will definitely try to cook myself when I go back in my home! Highly recommended tour!
One of my best days in Egypt. Marvelous tours to see ancient tombs in the West Bank. Tombs are tombs, still unparalleled underground spaces with sophisticated arts. In the afternoon, a splendid chef, Amina, and family members of a tour guide, Barry, welcomed us with super tasty tagine pot, vege salad, pilaf, and lemon mint juice. Thank you all. We will try and make tagine pot at home following Amina's special recipe!
Barry gave us the BEST tour during our trip here in Egypt! (We have been on 3). He was very informative and patient with answering all our questions. A great storyteller and very accurate with facts - we are all retired teachers back home (history, sociology and math). Being with 3 curious women can be a challenge. My friends and I had a fun and fantastic time at the cooking class. We learned so much about the spices and combinations to add a "punch" to our food, we have been able to use this knowledge now that we are back home. The shop is a hidden jewel in Luxor. The hands-on learning and tasting were a great time had by all. The added bonus was to be able to take home the spices used to duplicate what we made. This was great because I could share this with my family back home my new skill. An Egyptian meal, I made for my friends and family, has inspired some to go on an Egyptian vacation. Barry - I hope you are available. You are worth the wait.
It was a very nice experience to be in the store. You can look around and they give good information about the products they sell. You have different types of tea including green tea. Different types of herbs that are good for your organs but also different types of oils. And incense that are really a must have in the house. In addition, they are also very friendly people. You can have a cup of tea and they will teach you how to cook the traditional dishes of Egypt. We also ate there and it was delicious! The store has a beautiful location in Luxor. You can already see many Egyptian monuments on the way to the store but also from the store.
It is a beautiful immersion, to discover the spices preparation in a family, intimate, and caring place. .. in restaurants the tagines are very good but this one will taste like you will not find elsewhere... and you will discover why. I really recommend this simple and complete experience with the family a mohammed ..c is like receiving the piece of a puzzle that is missing when you continue your trip to Egypt.
A beautiful day in Luxor with Marwa and Imad Thanks to them, we visited and learned about the most important landmarks of the wonderful city. .the shortest A detailed explanation by the guide. God willing, we will repeat the experience without hesitation
