I went with my son who is ten years old and he loved every minute. He pretended to be an explorer searching for hidden treasures. At Dendera we went down into the crypts which he thought was a secret dungeon. Our guide played along and made the stories exciting for him. We spent about two hours there and he did not get bored once. The atmosphere was adventurous and playful. The staff were great with kids and gave him a small souvenir. The crowd was light which made it easy to keep an eye on him. This is best for families with young children. The admission fee was reasonable and the whole day was kid friendly. At Abydos he ran through the halls pretending to be a pharaoh. The lunch at the local house was simple but he ate well and played with the family's cat. This tour created memories my son will always treasure.

I went with my fiance to see Dendera because she loves ancient Egyptian art. She spent hours looking at the reliefs on the walls and taking notes. The temple has some of the best preserved colors we saw in Egypt especially on the ceiling. We went up to the roof and saw the famous zodiac which is actually a copy but still impressive. We spent about four hours there because she was in her element. The atmosphere was artistic and inspiring. The staff were patient and let her take her time. The crowd was light which was perfect for her concentration. This is best for art lovers. The admission fee was included and worth it for the access. At Abydos we saw the carvings which are like a textbook of Egyptian history. The lunch was simple but the family was so welcoming. My fiance is still talking about the art we saw. This tour fed her soul.
I took this tour during Ramadan and it was a unique experience. The pace was slower and more relaxed which I appreciated. At Dendera I had the temple almost to myself for a while. I walked through the hypostyle hall and listened to the silence. The colors on the ceiling looked even more vivid in the soft light. We spent about three hours there just reflecting. The atmosphere was peaceful and spiritual in a different way. The staff were fasting but still energetic and helpful. The crowd was very small which made it feel private. This is best for those seeking a quiet experience. The admission fee was included and I felt like I had the place to myself. At Abydos the energy was similar and I spent time sitting in the Osiris hall. The lunch was later in the day and the family welcomed us warmly. This tour during Ramadan felt special and authentic.
We took this tour as a family with three generations. My parents in their seventies my wife and I and our two teenagers. The tour company accommodated everyone perfectly. At Dendera the paths are accessible and there are places to sit and rest. My parents took their time while the teenagers ran ahead exploring. We all met up in the hypostyle hall and shared what we found. We spent about three hours there and everyone was happy. The atmosphere was inclusive and comfortable. The staff helped my parents up the few steps and made sure they had shade. The crowd was moderate but the staff found quiet spots for us. This is best for multigenerational groups. The admission fee was included and the value was clear. At Abydos we saw the Osiris temple and my father got emotional thinking about history. The lunch at the Egyptian house brought us together around one table. This tour strengthened our family bond.
We went as a group of four friends who love photography and history. This tour delivered on both. At Dendera we spent hours capturing the details of the carvings and the ceiling. The colors are so well preserved that photos look like paintings. We climbed to the rooftop for wide shots of the complex. We spent about four hours there and could have stayed longer. The atmosphere was creative and inspiring. The staff helped us find the best angles and even held reflectors. The crowd was light so we had freedom to move. This is best for photography enthusiasts. This tour proved that history can be fun for everyone.
I took this tour alone because I wanted some quiet time to think. The drive to Dendera was peaceful and I watched the countryside pass by. When I entered the temple I felt an immediate sense of calm. The columns with Hathor heads are beautiful and the light coming through the openings created magical shadows. I sat on a stone for a while just taking it all in. We spent about two and a half hours there. The atmosphere was serene and spiritual. The staff left me alone to enjoy my solitude but were there if I needed anything. The crowd was almost nonexistent which was perfect for me. This is best for solo travelers seeking reflection. The admission fee was reasonable and the whole experience felt personal. I also enjoyed the lunch where I sat with the local family and chatted about their life. This tour gave me peace and perspective. I left feeling renewed.
I went with my daughter who just finished her exams and needed a break. This tour was the perfect reset. At Dendera we walked slowly and talked about her future. The temple provided a beautiful backdrop for deep conversations. We sat in the hypostyle hall and she told me about her plans. We spent about three hours there and it felt like time stood still. The atmosphere was peaceful and supportive. The staff respected our space but were there when needed. The crowd was light which gave us privacy. This is best for parent child bonding. We went with another couple and had a fantastic time. The four of us explored Dendera together and shared discoveries. We found a room with amazing carvings of Cleopatra and pointed out details to each other. The temple feels like a puzzle to solve together. We spent about three hours there laughing and learning. The atmosphere was social and engaging. Our guide included us all in the stories and made sure everyone understood. The staff from the tour company took group photos for us at the best spots. The crowd was moderate but we found quiet corners. This is best for couples traveling together. The admission fee was included and felt like a great group value. At Abydos we played a game trying to find the oldest carving. The lunch was fun with all six of us sharing dishes and stories. This tour strengthened our friendship
I took this tour alone after a difficult year and it healed something in me. The drive to Dendera was meditative with the desert stretching beside the road. When I entered the temple I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. The columns seemed to hold up more than stone. I walked through the halls and let my mind rest. We spent about three hours there and I did not think about my problems once. The atmosphere was therapeutic and healing. The staff were kind without being intrusive. The crowd was small so I had space to breathe. This is best for anyone needing a reset. The admission fee was the best money I spent on my mental health. At Abydos I felt a connection to something eternal. The lunch was comforting with the family treating me like one of their own. This tour gave me peace.
We booked this tour for my mother in law who loves history and she was thrilled. She had read about Dendera for years and finally saw it in person. I joined this tour with my cousin who is studying archaeology and he explained things to me along the way. We started at Dendera and he pointed out the Greek and Roman influences on the temple which I had not noticed before. The ceiling with the zodiac is incredible and we spent a long time looking at it. We spent around three hours there because my cousin kept reading every inscription. The atmosphere was academic and focused. The staff from the tour company were impressed by his knowledge and shared extra stories with us. The crowd was small which allowed us to move freely. This is best for students and learners. The admission fee was included and felt like a great value for the educational experience. After Dendera we went to Abydos where the carvings tell the story of the pharaohs. My cousin was in heaven. The lunch at the local house was a nice way to end the day. I learned so much from this tour and from my cousin.
I went with my best friend who I have known since childhood. We have traveled together for twenty years and this tour ranked among our best days. At Dendera we acted like kids again running through the halls and making jokes. The temple became our playground. We found a hidden chamber and pretended to discover treasure. I took this tour during a business trip extension and it was the right choice. After meetings and presentations I needed something real. Dendera provided that. The temple is raw and authentic without the polish of other sites. I touched the stones and felt connected to thousands of years of history. We spent about two and a half hours there walking and thinking. The atmosphere was grounding and authentic. The staff from the tour company were professional and efficient. The crowd was small which suited my introverted personality. This is best for business travelers needing a break from screens. The admission fee was included and felt like a reset button. At Abydos I found even more ancient energy. The lunch was simple and real with the family sharing their daily life. This tour reminded me what matters beyond work.
We booked this tour for our anniversary and it was magical. Dendera temple dedicated to Hathor the goddess of love set the perfect tone. I took my girlfriend to Dendera and she still talks about it weeks later. The temple is dedicated to Hathor who is the goddess of love so it felt fitting. At Abydos we made decisions that shaped our next quarter. The lunch was a chance to connect as people not just colleagues. This tour was more productive than any meeting room.
I am a photographer and this tour was a dream for me. The light at Dendera in the morning is perfect for photos. I captured the zodiac ceiling and the crypts which have amazing textures. We spent almost four hours there because I kept finding new angles. My guide was patient and even helped me carry my equipment. The staff from the tour company understood my needs and gave me extra time. The crowd was small so I could shoot without people in my frames. The atmosphere was inspiring and creative. This is best for photographers who want to capture ancient art. The admission fee was worth it for the access alone. After Dendera we went to Abydos where the carvings are so detailed they look like they were made yesterday. I filled two memory cards with photos. The lunch was a nice break and the family running it was welcoming. I cannot recommend this tour enough for fellow photographers.
I went with my brother who is really into history and he was in heaven at Abydos. I am more of a casual tourist but even I was impressed. The temple feels older than anything else we saw in Egypt. Our guide told us about the legend of Osiris and how this was his cult center. We spent about three hours walking around and reading the inscriptions. The atmosphere was solemn and respectful. The staff from the tour company were professional and made sure we had everything we needed. The crowd was small which made the experience feel private. This is best for anyone interested in mythology. The admission fee was clear and there were no surprise charges. We also had lunch at a local house which was a nice break. The food was fresh and the hospitality was warm. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat.
The journey to Dendera and Abydos temples was unlike anything I’ve experienced before. The moment we arrived at Dendera, I was mesmerized by the vivid ceiling artwork inside Hathor’s temple — the colors are still so alive, it’s like they were painted yesterday. The tour guide did an amazing job explaining the symbolism behind the stars, zodiac, and goddess Hathor herself. Then we continued to Abydos the spiritual center of ancient Egypt. Walking through the grand halls and learning that this temple once housed the head of Osiris made the whole trip feel sacred. The carvings, the energy, and the sense of history were just mind-blowing. We were kept hydrated throughout the day with bottled water, and lunch was fresh, tasty, and just what we needed to refuel. Our driver was punctual and professional, and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. Huge thanks to our guide for making the day educational, safe, and truly unforgettable.
Fantastic guide, speaks many languages including Italian, Greek, and Spanish. Both the guide and the driver were very nice and patient (we visited Dendera-Abydos with a 3-year-old child). The guide was very knowledgeable, managing to entertain my daughter and answer all our questions. Lunch included, only drinks need to be paid for; in the afternoon, they provided us with bottles of water. We recommend waking up very early for this destination because Dendera is an hour and a half away from Luxor, and Abydos requires an additional hour and a half, totaling 3 hours to return. Relaxing trip with air conditioning and breaks if necessary. Very, very good, highly recommended (they pick you up and drop you off directly at the hotel). Note: for this destination, lunch is very good but local; for children or specific dietary needs, it is better to inform in advance (everything is very good and homemade anyway) top-notch!
Join Dendera and Abydos day tour from Luxor. The hotel pickup was on schedule and the tour went smoothly. Dendera and Abydos are recommended sites. Your guide will give you a compact overview of the ruins and places to see, and then you can decide how long to spend looking around for yourself. Dendera had 40 minutes, and Abydos had 1 hour of free time, so we had plenty of fun. The driver is also a good driver and there is no anxiety.
