Do note that in this package, guide isnt included so you would need to request for a guide. But anw, we did request for a guide. First of all, the process of the booking was made really smooth with Imperial Egypt. Hany was really good and made the whole booking experience, coordination and everything very smooth and easy for me. Honestly, this is one of the trips that i felt most assured and most relaxed in terms of arrangement cos Hany really did a great job. Now to the driver and guide. I couldnt really remember our driver's name but hes really awesome ( I mean it). My parents wanted to get lunch and we wanted Shawarma... due to the lack of time, our driver actually went down to order and collect the shawarma for us from the shop while we were walking the temple such that when we finished walking Luxor temple, the shawarma was waiting in the car already. And he drove slowly on the way from Luxor to Karnak temple ( only 2.7km away) so that we can eat slowly and not feel stressed while eating . Really thoughtful and honestly, im really very impressed. Our guide was Mohamed Abdo, who was really quite knowledgeable and brought the temple and its stories to life. He has a notepad to draw and show us what exactly he was talking about, so that we have a clearer idea of the story. Well, like what my parents said, had we not asked Mohamed to be our tour guide, we would just walk in and exit within minutes not knowing much. But it is because of Mohamed's explanantions, everything camw to life and was impressive. Great effort!

Our tour with Mido was excellent, he is the most fun tour guide we could have asked for - and he'll give you the best local recommendations for Luxor. Definitely ask for him when booking your tour! Props to the driver as well, we've had a great full day tour with both of them :)
Our guide Mostafa was a really nice and cool guy who had extensive knowledge about Ancient Egypt as a whole as well as all of the fascinating places we visited on our tour. He is a very flexible and allows you to spend as much time as you would like in each place. Also, the driver was very kind and you are taken around in a clean and air conditioned private vehicle.
The only reason I'm giving this tour 2 stars (and not 1) is because the sights are simply stunning, so it would be unfair to Egypt to label this experience as 'terrible'. Unfortunately, from here on, things only go downhill. My tour guide Laila (maybe I'm slightly misspelling her name) was, not even 5 minutes after I joined her and the driver, trying to sell me other tours and insisting I buy souvenirs/products from people she knew. First, she tried to sell me a tour to Alexandria for the exorbitant price of $230 (USD). After I complained about the price (I had already done my research and the most expensive Alexandria private tour I found -from Cairo- was $100), she makes a call and suddenly the Alexandria tour is now $160... what a 'great deal', right? Then there's the Saqqara/Memphis tour. First she offered it to me at $100. However, a call or two later, the tour was now $60 with entrance fees to the sites and lunch NOT included. I ultimately booked another operator and paid $55 for the same tour with entrance fees AND lunch included! See where I'm going with this? Later on, at lunchtime, a new 'attraction' not on the tour schedule appeared: a boat ride, from one side of the river to the other, for $30. I fell into the trap and paid for it. I realized too late I had been scammed. I felt terrible. And all of this time, between one site to the next and while on the boat, she would insist (time and again, overwhelmingly) for me to book the Alexandria and Saqqara/Memphis tours. She would always say she was just 'trying to help'. I was in such disbelief by what was going on that I had no option other than to call her out and ask her to stop asking me to book any other tour of hers. She then got all shaky and begged me not to tell her boss or anyone about anything. Clearly, she didn't want her fraudulent scheme to be exposed. As you can see, it didn't work. I could type hundreds, if not thousands more characters to expand on my uncomfortable experience, but I think by now you've got the idea. Bottom line is, while it seems there are honest and professional tour guides at ImperialEgypt (as you can see from the reviews), you may still be unlucky enough to get one that makes a living out of cheating and lying. My suggestion is to take note of those tour guides' names with glowing reviews and make sure or even request you're with one of them. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy Egypt!
The guide Amr was just amazing the best one we had in Egypt so knowledgeable and very kind and friendly
We have a pleasant tour of Luxor with Mido Mosa the guide yesterday. He is very professional and knowledgeable about local history and speak very good English.
This activity its simply the best way to get around Luxor, with a very knowledgeable guide (Amr) ! Its an easy way to see the best of Luxor in a day! Not only we got to see some amazing views but we learnt a bit history which makes the trip more fun and understandable :) Im more than satisfied with it and it’s a must do if youre visiting Egypt, it’s not all about the pyramids ;)
Ask for Hedy— he was an awesome tour guide who facilitated our whole day. Hedy’s knowledge and enthusiasm for Egyptian history and the local sights was impressive. The lunch was very nice with a great view of the Nile. Hedy was attentive to our needs in the heat of the day and our need for water and he even surprised us with opportunity for some ice cream. The relatively new AC van was very comfortable and the driver was careful and professional. We had a great and memorable day. Remember to ask for Hedy for your Luxor tour. Thanks for a great time.
He was very patient and knowledgeable about the history of ancient Egypt. We visited the temple of Hatshepsut, the Valley of the King, and the Karnak Temple in a private AC van. As a female solo traveler, Mostafa made an effort to make my experience as smoothly as possible. When I encountered problematic security guard at the Valley of the King, he was so kind to help me out without an expectation of money return. If you are a fan of unique and unparalleled souvenirs, be sure to visit the high end gift shops where they sell handcrafted stone statues and handmade papyrus painting. Completley worth the slightly expensive price. Highly recommended Mostafa as the tour guide to anyone who travels to Luxor!
While the sites visited were simply amazing, and the price paid online was very affordable, the guide made us understood he was living on tips, which means this company works with freelance guides and don't pay them well. The guide did not come with us on some of the sites saying guides were not allowed even though we saw quite a few guides on this site. The lunch did not include drink (which it does not say on the description of the visit) and was in a very touristy restaurant. Our guide also misinformed us on the price of entrance ticket (making us pay without our agreement voluntary contribution at each entrance). The guide was friendly though. But tips were at every corner.
Our day tour started at 8am. To be honest, we got a bit worried when we didn't receive any reply from the tour operator the day before. But around 7am+, Hoda called to confirm she's on her way to our Airbnb apartment with the driver. Tour includes Egyptian buffet lunch but not admission tickets. Since we were staying on the West Bank, we had to take a ferry back on our own. That was fine since it gave us time to chill at a coffee place and walk around the East Bank leisurely after the tour. We covered A LOT in one day which was great. Hoda is very knowledgeable and can speak English fluently. For reference, these were the additional admission fees per pax: 1. Valley of the Kings 200 EGP + 4 EGP (tram ticket) 2. Temple of Queen Hatshepsut 100 EGP + 4 EGP (tram ticket) 3. Karnak Temple 150 EGP 4. Luxor Temple 140 EGP Enjoy your day tour! Stay hydrated.
We spent an incredible two days with our guide Laila - she is wonderful, friendly and unbelievably knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. The tours she suggested were perfectly paced to our needs on each day, giving us enough free time to wonder and enjoy the amazing sites a bit on our own. We highly recommend Laila as a guide and the tour as a whole.
Best tour ever, we used another company in Cairo but imperial tour is by far the best. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us great history of Luxor. We toured Valley Of The Kings, hatshetsup temple, Karnak and Luxor temple. Also had an amazing luch included that was all vegetarian as both my fiancé and me do not eat animal products. I’d give it 6 stars if it was an option! Best ever!
My guide, Hoda, could not have been more lovely- great attitude and a wealth of knowledge. She made sure I was comfortable and saw everything that I wanted to. The tour company agreed to pick me up from the airport which was fantastic because I was a solo, female traveler unfamiliar with Luxor. I was originally booked for a private tour but there was another traveler at the airport who's tour company left him behind in error so we happily welcomed him. Hoda helped him get ahold of his original tour company to sort things out. What a helpful, caring person- I cannot say enough good about her. Overall a great day, well spent. 10/10 would recommend.
I had only one day to explore Luxor, so i decided to take this tour based on the reviews in Tripadvisor. And fortunately it was a decision that leads to the most enjoyable moment in Luxor. After being picked up in Luxor Airport by Ahmed Azis, we directly went to the West Bank of the Nile which consists of Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepshut, and Colossi of Memnon. Afterwards, we had a very nice Egyptian lunch. Following after that is the tour on the East Bank, consisting of Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. Ahmed Azis is highly knowledgeable in explaining about the ancient Egypt kingdom. It was very good that he explained the history for around 15-20 minutes and then give enough time to explore the temples to take pictures. In the end, i would highly recommend this tour to anyone who visits Luxor only one day but wants to know thoroughly about West and East Banks of the Nile.
We had only one day at Luxor and our guide from Imperial Egypt was extremely helpful in arranging the same for us. Had a good knowledge about the Hieroglyphics and the history. More importantly he pointed to us the areas which were worth visiting and which were not. Would recommend Imperial Egypt to anyone who asks for it.
The guide Ashraf was just amazing the best one we had in Egypt so knowledgeable and very kind and friendly
Thank you, Nama! You are so sweet, funny, and such a pleasure to spend the day with. She did an excellent job showing us all that Luxor had to offer (Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Statue of Memnon, Alabaster Factory, Luxor Temple, and Karnak Temple) along with a boat ride down the Nile to Banana Island for one of the best and beautiful lunches we’ve had on the trip so far. We were out from 7:30am-3:30pm (which we would recommend to beat out some of the crowds). We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit all that Luxor has to offer in a day. It is not recommended for people who prefer a detailed walkthrough of every site. We particularly loved how Nama would sit down with us at each location to give us an overview of history/art and then give us 20-40 mins to explore on our own. That model worked really well for our travel style as we wanted to learn but also have some flexibility to explore and take pictures. Note: Tour was inclusive of lunch but did not include admission fees or the boat ride. Be sure to carry extra cash with you to cover admission (discount for students under age 30 with an ID) as well as any purchases you may want to make at the Alabaster Factory or the Perfumery. The boat ride was not officially part of the tour (cost extra) either, but it was offered to us by Nama – and we’re glad we did it! I'd also highly recommend you contact the company well in advance via WhatsApp to confirm pickup location/timing.
We had only one day in Luxor flew in at 8am and had arranged to be picked up at the airport for $20 extra for a family of 5 that was a great deal. Mahmood our guide was outside the terminal and took us straight to the West Bank Valley of the Kings we spent about an hour exploring Next to Valley of the queens and did an extra tomb of Nefertari and It was amazing and is not always open. Next to Hatshepsut temple for about an hour with lot of insights from Mahmood Quick lunch and some optional shopping stop which I did but regretted later as it was WAY overpriced my own fault as I was not pressured by any one Boat ride across the Nile to the Karnak Temple which is truly spectacular and finished at the Luxor temple before being dropped off to the airport for our flight Overall very smooth tickets to each tomb/temple is an extra 100-150 Egyptian pounds so you need cash The extra Nefertaris tomb is 1200 Egyptian pounds and optional Mahmood was excellent although my kids weren’t that attentive and squeezed in Luxor in a day! Would highly recommended Imperial Egypt Tours!
Yesterday we enjoyed a day tour of Luxor’s East and West Banks with Hoda. We had a really interesting and enjoyable day learning about New Kingdom pharaohs, their tombs and temples and about contemporary Egyptian life. The tombs are excellent and Karnak Temple as spectacular as we’d imagined. We can thoroughly recommend Hoda as a well informed guide, and you can be guaranteed an enjoyable and educational day with her!
We had booked our tour with ImperialEgypt. I got sick really bad on the day of the tour. Hany manager of the company was so kind enough to change the tour to suit our day. We spent full day from 8am thru 7pm with AMR. Every single place we visited was just superb. AMR explained in greater details all the historical importance of each event. We felt like we lived during that kingdom. AMR is very knowledgeable and humble. When I mentioned to him about the smoking problem every where by drivers and tour guides, he took personal attention to make sure people would not smoke around us. Before we came to Egypt I had read lot of reviews. We were scared about safety and security etc. infact after spending a week in Cairo and Luxor we realized people here just wonderful. They always took extra pain to serve our needs. They are very polite. This was our best vacation in our life time. We will come back more often here. I recommend both Hanny and AMR team for your next visit to Egypt. I am very sure you will not go wrong. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This full day tour was really fun and opened our eyes to the wonders of ancient Egypt. Hoda, our guide, was very knowledgeable and provided us a great experience tailored to what we wanted to do. Her personal connection to the land and love for its history added a deeper dimension. Plan to have enough cash to pay for the entrance fees. Some famous/special tombs in the valley of the kings cost extra.
We had a wonderful time in Luxor. We visited the Valley of the Kings and so many temples in only one day. Thanks to our guide Hady we learned so much about the ancient Egypt. He is so passionate about history and explains everything so clear. We had lunch in a nice traditional restaurant where we had the chance to ask Hady anything we wanted to know about history (Egyptian history, Roman history, etc.) He really enjoys answering any question and it's a pleasure to listen to him. Hady had all the time and patience to wait for us to explore and enjoy the beauty of all the temples we visited. I'm sorry we didn't spend more time in Luxor, because this place is amazing!
We scheduled one full day tour in Luxor for both the East and West Banks with Imperial Egypt via Viator. Our stops included Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and a lunch stop on the West Bank and then Karnak and Luxor Temples on the East Bank. We also stopped at an alabaster shop and had an option to stop at a perfume and/or papyrus shop but we had already hit those in Cairo so we declined, which our guide Hoda had no problem with. Hoda was extremely knowledgeable, could answer every question we threw at her and had excellent English. Generally she gave us background prior to arrival, then showed us around the site, and then gave us as much time as we wanted to continue exploring it on our own. Given our schedule, although it was a pretty packed day, the one day tour is exactly what we wanted. There is also a two day version of this tour that splits up the East and West Banks. As a female many of the males we interacted with throughout our trip pretty much ignored me so it was extremely refreshing to have a female guide. She gave us some interesting, unique insights and it was one of our only interactions with a female during our entire trip. Thank you Hoda!

This tour was fantastic! Our guide, Amr, was extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job. Both he and our driver, Hagag, went out of their way to help us. This was a wonderful, wonderful tour, I highly recommend it. Oh, and lunch was absolutely delicious!

Absolutely fantastic. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and he gave us time to explore sites on our own after telling us about them, which we really enjoyed. We also greatly appreciated that we were not forced to stop once at any stores and listen to a sales pitch for local goods--as the guide said, the people who want to do that will ask for it, and we were certainly more interested in seeing the sights than buying souvenirs.

The tour started and ended promptly, and the driver was professional and capable as well.

As for the content of the tour, we hit the main sites on both the West and East Banks of Luxor, plus the Habu Temple, which is apparently not visited as often by tours. It's a good choice nonetheless.

Either way, I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to other visitors.

If you are only in Luxor for a day then choose this tour. I did the balloon flight (also set up by the tour operator) at extra cost. It started at 330AM. Then was taken back to the hotel for a quick breakfast then a
Couldn't see all the tombs in the Valley of the Kings but I felt that I had seen the main ones and damn they would good! I really enjoyed going down deep into the tombs. My guide was fantastic and quite funny and very imformative and brilliant with timing for all the tombs and it was great to see both banks in one day. I must say I'm impressed with my guide for being so great and energetic during Ramadam as I know how hard it is

As others have commented, there is a lot to cover and it can get pretty exhausting. We did tours everyday while we were in Egypt, but this one was the most tiring. Karnak was my favourite, and I'm glad we had enough time there. The tombs in the Valley of the Kings are great for the experience, but perhaps not as aesthetically stunning maybe it's just the three we saw. One thing we struggled with was cash. Because you are expected to pay in EGP at each place, we quickly ran out of smaller notes. It might be an idea to make sure before the tour that you have the cash in smaller notes. The guiding was fine, but I was a little bit perplexed when our guide came with me to the hotel reception desk after the tour and asked for my passport. I think he was trying to be helpful, but it really threw me, especially because we did not require any assistance the hotel staff spoke good English. All in all a good choice if you want to see all the Luxor highlights in a day.

We had an awesome time with our tour guide Wael seeing the highlights of the East and West Banks of Luxor. Wael started at each site by giving us an explanation and showing us the most important spots, and then gave us free time to walk around at our own pace which was important to us, as we wanted to photograph everything thoroughly. Wael was also super friendly, funny and talkative, which made us feel very comfortable. We did four private tours in Egypt and this was easily the best one!
We booked the tour to the Nile East and West Banks and were totally happy with it. The agency Emo Tours provided us with this fantastic guide Salwa, a graduated archaeologist who knew all about the faraons, kings and queens as if they were longtime friends who used to play together on the street as kids. So, besides being an spectacular scenic tour (what is very important for me, as a photographer), it was a comprehensive History class. I was very happy with it, specially the Kings' Valley. This day has been the highlight of the whole tour. My advice for this tour: drink water each ten minutes. The places are dry, the sun scorching, but you'll want to stay longer to capture and keep forever in mind the centennial vibe of eternity.

Highly recommend this trip! Our tour guide was Mohammed, and he was so good - definitely knew his stuff! The whole process was seamless, we were picked up on time and everything was as expected, if not - better!!

If you are only in Luxor for a short time, then this trip is perfect to see the main sites! The only downside was we wanted more time in Karnak Temple as its huge and you could spend hours exploring - but this was our own fault for booking a jam packed tour so no issues!! Thank you so much Mohammed - you were amazing!

We had Hady for the East and West Luxor private day tour. He was excellent. He is very smart and knowledgeable. I would go on a tour with him again!!

If one were to select just a single tour of Luxor, this would be the best! With an in depth look at the array of tombs and temples on both the East and West banks of the Nile, this is a treasure trove of sights and learning. My tour guide Wael was superb! He is a national treasure unto himself. One could hardly expect such a well informed, courteous guide with excellent time management skills. The majesty of Luxor comes alive with Wael's guidance. Thank you!

Better to seperate the west bank and east bank in 2 days so you could see much more if you are interested in history because there is so much to see in King's Valley, with this tour, I only visited king's valley and saw 3 tombs.
Plus it's tricky to pay tips...I gave 100 to tour guide and 60 to driver at the end of the day and the tour guide wasn't happy and told me I was ungrateful...

We were greeted by our tour guide Hady at our hotel. He was very pleasant and high spirited person. We started the tour at the West Bank. We visited The Valley of the Kings went inside three tombs, Hatshepsut temple. Hady was very knowledgable and gave us interesting facts with recent discovery and findings.I have been watching a lot about egypts history in Discovery Channel and National Geographic but having an egyptologist with you during the tour is more better and Hady was able to explain questions that is not told on tv, After west bank we headed off to east bank and saw karnak temple and luxor temple. I had a request from Hadi that I wanted to see how papyrus was made and he took us there as well. This tour is worth it all.

A piece of advise to tourist - if you plan to buy souvenirs, always haggle with prices as they are always giving you 100-150 percent top up from the original price. Better check out prices first like papyrus be sure to know it is not fake, price range from 5 to 30 , alabaster figurines and vase depends on the size but should be on the range from 5 to 20 only. Be careful of people giving you sweet talks and free especially if your touris. Nothing is free its all paid. Tourist is also expected to give tips even if they have not done anything. Some people just beg for nothing.

Amr was my tour guide for this trip and he was absolutely wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable and kind. This tour included so much, it truly is well worth it if you are short on time. The price is great and the experience is beyond amazing. Book this tour with no regrets. I was so happy. Amr even gave us pointers for shopping. He was a great guy. I always felt safe. I learned so much. Thank you Amr!

Amr was super knowledgeable and friendly. We went to the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut, Karnak and Luxor Temple. Super informative!

Excellent tour! My guide Mohammed was very knowledgeable and patient, introduced detailed information at every interest point along the way. He is also an excellent photographer, took a lot of pictures for me during the tour. Highly recommended.

This was a great tour and well worth the effort. Just be aware it can be a bit exhausting towards the end of the tour.

Recommended! Beautiful panorama of the West and east bank of luxor, ideal for those who do not have much time
Friendly and helpful guide but a little too synthetic little in depth explanation is fine for quick visit of all the beautiful things of luxor
Excellent agency service Everything as agreed The guide Zacarias super friendly and very good Spanish Very clear in all the explanations A long and tired day but worth it
