We had the absolute pleasure of traveling with our tour guide, Roshdy Khodary, during our Dahabiya Nile River cruise, and the experience exceeded anything we could have imagined. Roshdy was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely funny—he brought the history of ancient Egypt to life in a way that made every moment memorable. From teaching us how to read hieroglyphics to sharing fascinating stories of Egypt’s past, his passion and expertise were evident in everything he did. He went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of every minute of the trip. Whether coordinating seamless excursions or working closely with the boat’s chef to deliver meals that were truly exceptional, his attention to detail was unmatched. The quality of the food alone was beyond anything we’ve experienced on a trip like this. During our excursions, we always felt safe and well looked after. One of the most special aspects of the journey was how Roshdy timed and planned our visits—many times allowing us to experience incredible ancient sites with very few people around, creating rare and intimate moments that we will never forget. By the end of the trip, Roshdy felt like part of our family. Saying goodbye was genuinely emotional for all of us. Thank you, Roshdy, for making this an unforgettable experience. We cannot recommend you highly enough.

One of the best family vacations ever! We learned so much in a few short days. This being our first visit to Egypt, we didn't know what to expect. It ended up being better than anything we could've imagined. Could definitely see a return trip somewhere in the future.
My husband and I booked a 5 day/4 night cruise from Luxor to Aswan with Reflections Travel at the last minute (the day before!) with little information available to us. We (along with our 2 year old) were picked up by our wonderful guide Aladdin at Luxor airport, who spoke perfect English. Over the next 5 days, he guided us through the various temples and sights, with informative explanations at each one, then also gave us ‘free time’ to explore at our own leisure, which was perfect! We stayed on the boat ‘Nile Serenity’ - which was modern, had very spacious suites with balconies, delicious food and great service. I’d read online (when I was researching Nile cruises initially) that many boats are described as ‘luxurious’, but in reality, they aren’t. Nile Serenity WAS luxurious (we got lucky!). Staff also went out of their way to accommodate my toddler, which I really appreciated. It was handy that Aladdin also stayed on the boat with us for the majority of the time. As part of our package, all entrance fees were included, and we also had a private car with experienced drivers. We opted for an extra excursion to Abu Simbel, which was amazing and well worth the long car trip. If you’re thinking of booking a trip from Luxor to Aswan, I highly recommend Reflections Travel and Aladdin!
I can’t recommend this trip, and Barry as a guide, enough. He provided all the information I needed about the logistics of the trip, getting in touch before to introduce himself, and during the journey he has been reliable, intelligent, and a wealth of knowledge both historical and local.
Excellent experience. Aladdin was amazing, magical. Thanks to reflection travel and their hard working staff for making our trip unforgettable.
This trip was amazing. Our tour guide Hany was fantastic! He was so kind and his knowledge of Egyptian history was great. He is the best tour guide we had in Egypt by a mile! The boat was gorgeous. All the staff were lovely and welcoming. Overall it was a magical experience (excuse the pun as we were on the cruise called Magic!). I would highly recommend using this company. They were prompt with their responses to any questions we had. Definitely worth the money!
Great experience on the Nile cruise - Aladdin was a great tour guide for archaeological sites. In Luxor we saw Karnak, the Luxor temple, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s mortuary temple, and Temple of Habu (which we added on). On the cruise, we stopped at Edfu and Kom Ombo - both were great. Edfu is wonderful as a well-preserved temple - Kom Ombo is very pretty, right on the Nile. In Aswan we saw Philae, the Broken Obelisk, Aswan dam and added on Nubian village, which was an interesting visit. The trip to Abu Simbel was comfortable and great. Aladdin was great throughout telling us about all the sites.
We went for the tour with our friends for this cruise and our tour guide was Hany, he was very friendly and welcoming and was very knowledgeable, he gave us a lot of information about the history and made our trip worthwhile. He was also very good with our kids and answered their question as they are school going and very curious. The temples and the tombs we visited are mesmerising and there is so much history it was breathtaking. We would highly recommend this cruise especially because of Hany
The ship docks close to many of the Temples and our Egyptologist stayed onboard the ship while we were on the cruise. We learned so much about the Temples, Egypt and Egyptian culture. The staff on the Nile Story were always ready to help and accomodate you with any requests. The ship is small but we kept ourselves busy and of course, our Egyptologist gave us lots of info. There is no 24/7 food available. You eat at schedule times or you're out of luck. That was ok but took a little getting used to. On my birthday the cleaning people decorated my room with blinking lights and a towel animal. What a surprise! The kindest people to help first time to Egypt travels made this a memorable experince. The ship is older and not a Royal Carribean for sure. Still, we had a wonderful time and took down time in the pool area. The pool is small but there aren't a ton of people on the ship so you're not fight for a lounge chair or place to sit. Definitely want to go back!
The ship was filthy..smelled of diesel fumes..standing water in the shower. Dirty towels and sheets..Food was disgusting. Ship is old and barely a 1 star, not fit for tourists of any kind! We tried many times to contact the local tour company, even the guide who took us on a tour tried to get in touch with them.. they did not respond to phone calls or text messages..WE did not stay on the ship and want a refund! Horrible experience and a big disappointment with Viator. WE want our money back!
Wow! This experience was super! I was with my boyfriend and we had an amazing experience with Reflection Travels. We had the best tourist guide, Wael which speaks Italian and Dutch and all the car drivers working for this company were very professional. Overall all was perfect. More than expected! Per gli italiani che vogliono fare un’esperienza indimenticabile, prenotare con Reflection Travel e non ve ne pentirete.
Very good trip, great value. Hany our guide was very helpful and a really nice person. He rescheduled our trips which were all interesting and enjoyable. the boat was very comfortable and clean and the food was good. Egypt is a wonderful place on the whole group enjoyed the experience. The night time entertainment was basic and there was no free Wi-Fi but the views of the Nile more than made up for it. Would recommend!
Thank you Yousef for an amazing experience! Yousef was a fantastic tour guide for our time on the Nile River cruise. His knowledge, passion and love for the Aswan/Luxor region made each excursion off the boat special and memorable. We learned so much from him, not just about the temples and kings, but about the Egyptian and Islamic cultures as well.
Youssef was very knowledgeable and professional during our tour from Luxor to Aswan! He was able to sort out transporting easily, he made sure we were never hungry or thirsty and he taught us so much about both ancient and modern Egypt! We had a lot of fun on the boat and the food was pretty good but the boat could have been nicer (leaky shower and weird smell in the bar). Overall great tour thank you Youssef!
The tour was very well organized, Haysam the guide was always very polite, very patient when we were seeing the souvenir shops, no pressure to buy anything, we were 3 women travelling alone and felt always very safe. The boat was nice, clean and food was good, the pool was enough to cool down during hot afternoons. It was a very relaxing experience, Haysam took care of everything, the price is all included except tips, would definitely recommend to do this tour with Haysam as guide.
Me and my family had a really nice cruise of 5 days. Our guide Wael Ali followed the exact program, he told us with interest the history of each temple and explained its ancient frescoes. Thanks to him we can now understand the Egyptian civilisation. I recommend this trip!
Our guide Mohsen was absolutely wonderful. He is extremely knowledgeable and explains the history of Egypt is such a manner that I learned more from him in 15 minutes than I did in school. I have several friends and family members that would like to come to Egypt. I will be recommending Mohsen to them for their travels here.
Great trip. Our guide, Roshdy is a talking and walking encyclopedia! Very informative, helpful and really enjoys his work.
Trip was very well organised by Roshdy, our very attentive and friendly guide. The tour takes you to all the highlights of Aswan and Luxor. A great experience with Reflections travels.
The guide & driver picked us up from the airport. Took us to the riverboat, the boat was nice food was very good. The room was on the ground floor, not bad. The upper floor was for larger tour groups. All sights entrance was included. The guide knew his history but was bit of a scammer he tried very hard to insist we must tip everyone, when no one was actually asking for a tip as they were already paid. He would actually secretly tell the driver, horse carriage driver, boat driver to ask us for a tip when they were already paid by him. Then he would get upset if we did not tip them. He would try to sell us over priced dvd's postcards. If he was't such a dufus and pushy we would have gladly tipped him too. Other than the guide it was all very good but it's all part of the experience to travel in Egypt.
The cruise was amazing especially the tours that we did with our guide RUSHDI. He was prompt gave us a lot of information about the history of the Pharos, the high Dam and Noubian villlage were amazing. The staff on board of the cruise were always helpful, polite and cheerful. Towels need to be changed.
From the time we got off the plane in Luxor Youssef our guide did an outstanding job! He made us feel right at home and was very welcoming. Youssef is very knowledgeable about all the temples and tombs we visited. Visiting the Valley of the Kings was definitely the highlight of the trip. It was amazing walking in the tombs are seeing the hieroglyphics still colored. The cruise itself was relaxing. The boat is older and in decent shape but very clean. Youssef is friendly and his English is very good! It was a pleasure talking to him and getting to know him as we cruised on the Nile. He also took as many pictures of us as we wanted which was very nice to get pictures together of my father and I. I highly recommend asking for Youssef and our driver Taha if you go on this cruise or do any tours in Luxor.
A very informative few days covering a lot of ground. Youssef was a great source of information on the whole trip and general traveler requirements. Check on time of year to travel as August was very hot.
We had an 8 day, 7 night holiday visiting the main experiences in Cairo, followed by a flight to Luxor, with cruise up the Nile to Aswan and a flight back to Cairo. During this we visited the pyramids, the Sphinx, Cairo museum, Karnak temple complex, Luxor temple, the valley of the Kings, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the temple at Edfu, the temple at Kom-Ombo, the unfinished obelisk, the temple at Philae and the high dam. There were also several other visits to local artisans and craftsmen. Our local guide for the experiences once we landed in Luxor was Mohsen Al Barbary, who was able to keep us continually informed as well as interested and inspired by the landscape and sights all around us. He was very kind and caring with our two young children, as well as considerate of the needs of my father-in-law and mother-in-law. An unforgettable experience.
