★★★★★ An unforgettable Nile experience with Sayed We had Sayed as our private guide during our riverboat trip on the Nile, and he was fantastic. He seemed to know everyone in the Luxor area—everywhere we went, someone knew him! His connections and ability to coordinate things gave us experiences we never could have arranged on our own. We explored so many tombs, including the Valley of the Kings. Sayed was incredibly knowledgeable, and his fascinating stories brought the history to life. He was also thoughtful, sensitive to our needs, and so much fun to spend time with. One moment we’ll laugh about for years was when he encouraged me to try a hookah. Let’s just say I wasn’t very good at it! It became one of those wonderful, funny memories that made the trip special. Sayed is a good man and a terrific guide. If you’re visiting Egypt, especially Luxor and the Nile, we highly recommend him!

We did the 5D 4N cruise from Luxor to Aswan aboard the Blue Shadow, with a personal guide for the tours & excursions for the two of us. We booked through Viator and found the price quite the value compared to multiple different individual tour companies that I contacted independently. I was initially concerned after booking that I might be sacrificing on quality given the price, but that was not the case at all. The cruise and the boat itself was very comparable to many of the other boats that we were moored alongside of in the cities, and the service on board was amazing. Our dining room waiter Ayman, & the head waiter Mohammed, were both exceptional and very friendly. The food variety in the dining room was quite good, with the many flavors of Egypt being presented, however often times the proteins were over cooked and dry, and the dishes needed salt added. Also the housekeeping staff were very friendly and kept the room very clean and tidy, leaving cute little animals created from blankets and towels each day as a surprise when we returned. As for the tours and excursions of the ancient temples and sites, our guide Mostafa was excellent. He was very knowledgeable of the history and sites, answering all of our questions, and providing lots of details. He could tell we were very interested in learning about the civilization and culture, and thus catered our tours to our interests. He was also very good at finding shady spots to pause and give his explanations, keeping us out of the hot sun, and strategically timing the tours and movements through the sites to avoid the large crowds from big tour buses. Mostafa was also genuinely interested in having conversations with us about Egyptian life and philosophies, often times spending another 30-60 minutes chatting after we had returned to the boat. He became our friend and we exchanged contact info to keep in touch after the cruise ended. We could tell that he was very experienced at customizing the experience to the preference of the people on the tour. Overall this was a very enjoyable tour and experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Egypt.
We had the absolute best time on this trip my husband and I! Sayed, our guide, was without a doubt, one of the biggest reasons our Nile cruise was so special. He accompanied us throughout our five-day cruise, and I honestly cannot imagine having enjoyed the experience nearly as much without him. Our wonderful Genie making our dreams come true ❤️ Egypt has been my dream trip since I was 13 years old, and I had spent a lot of time studying and reading about Ancient Egypt before coming. That meant I arrived with A LOT of questions! 😂 Sayed was absolutely tireless. He patiently answered question after question, explained things in depth, and always went above and beyond to make sure we understood what we were seeing. He is incredibly knowledgeable, but what I appreciated most was his honesty. His English is excellent and he would answer honestly and, when possible, find things out together with us. After having encountered other guides that were not the same, I value his knowledge and language skills tremendously! He also showed us so many additional things that we would never have seen or appreciated without him! He didn't simply take us from one monument to the next, he noticed the little details, shared stories and secrets that you won't necessarily find in guidebooks, and gave us a much deeper understanding of the places we visited. The culture, the animals the little things he understood we were curious about. At the Valley of the Kings, Sayed was incredible. We visited many tombs, in intense heat, and he remained incredibly patient, energetic and enthusiastic throughout. He never rushed our questions and kept sharing fascinating stories, details and lesser-known information. It felt like we weren't just looking at ancient tombs, we were discovering them together. We enjoyed his company and guiding so much that we actually booked two additional trips with him: one to Abu Simbel and one to a Nubian village. That says everything about how much we trusted and enjoyed having him with us. Our Nubian village visit was especially lovely because Sayed gave us the opportunity to experience it in a boat seeing the river Nile passing by at sunset and then at night. We even met some of his friends, which made the experience feel very personal and gave us a lovely glimpse into local life. And Sayed went above and beyond in another very special way: I celebrated my birthday during our trip, and he helped make that event feel even more amazing. ❤️ It was already a dream to be in Egypt for my birthday, but having such a kind and thoughtful guide made it even more memorable. Sayed is not only an exceptional guide, he is a genuinely kindhearted, warm and lovely person. We laughed with him, learned from him, asked him endless questions and felt incredibly well looked after. A few tips for future travellers related to the boat and the trip: I had this question so maybe others have too, there's many boats this company covers but mainly can be MS Lady Carol, MS Lady Carol and Steigenberg and maybe others:) The exact boat can vary, so I would recommend confirming which vessel you will be staying on when booking, but for us the overall cruise experience was fantastic. The boat was great, amazing friendly staff, great food prepared with care, they wash the fruit and make all juices with bottled water so all is safe to eat and delicious! Our cruise was full board, with meals included but drinks extra, worth keeping in mind when budgeting. Remember to budget separately for gratuities for the guide and cruise crew, as these are not normally included in the cruise price. One thing I would mention for anyone booking an Egypt tour is that it is quite normal to take you to places such as perfume museums/factories or alabaster demonstrations. Yes, these are also shops, but personally we didn't see this as a negative. These are local businesses and artisans, and we actually enjoyed seeing how things were made and learning about the crafts. If you can afford to support a local artisans and find something you genuinely like, wonderful, but nobody pressures you. For the Nubian village, I would also recommend telling your guide in advance exactly what you want. If you don't want to see live crocodiles or do, if there is some free time you want or if there is some specific house you want to see or whatever they will do the most for you. However, be aware that if you want to visit a local home for food, this may not be possible to separate from the experience of crocodiles because they are part of the culture and tradition. Also, if you want to walk around and explore more of the village, tell your guide. We did this, and it was wonderful. Otherwise, depending on the tour, you may spend most of your time at one particular house. The village is beautiful and much more enjoyable when you have the freedom to see more. For us, Sayed was not simply someone who explained monuments. He was our companion through an incredible journey of discovery. He made Egypt come alive. He made our dream trip even better. And he made it magical. ❤️🇪🇬 If you are booking a Nile cruise, ask for Sayed. I genuinely cannot recommend him highly enough. We never felt rushed. The organisation throughout the cruise was excellent, excursions, transport and sailing all ran smoothly and we always knew what was happening next. He always told us they key important information and then gave us free roaming time. The timing of the visits was excellent and we had plenty of time to explore, take photos and ask questions. Five stars are not enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My wife and I just completed a 4-night, 5-day Nile River cruise from Luxor to Aswan, and our private guide, Sayed, made the entire trip exceptional. We covered an incredible amount of ground together, including Karnak and Luxor Temples, the Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo and the Crocodile Museum, the Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan, a local Nubian Village, and the epic journey down to Abu Simbel. What truly set this tour apart was Sayed's meticulous care and deep expertise. He possesses a tremendous knowledge of Egyptology, explaining the complex history, architecture, and hieroglyphs at every site with incredible detail and clarity. He knows exactly how to pace the information so that the ancient world comes to life without ever feeling overwhelming. Beyond his academic knowledge, he was consistently friendly, highly attentive, and went out of his way to secure extra perks for us during our daily excursions. Managing the logistics of a fast-paced Egyptian itinerary can be daunting, but he handled the crowds, the transport, and the site navigations seamlessly behind the scenes. If you want an insightful, brilliantly managed, and truly memorable journey through ancient Egypt, we cannot recommend Sayed highly enough. Five stars!
What a fantastic trip! Very well organised from start to finish. The boat was beautiful, the food great, and the staff were wonderful. Our guide, Noor, led us through the history of each site with his knowledge, and filled the gaps in ours! I would highly recommend this trip.
Hatim was our guide, and as many would know the quality and experience of your guide can make or break a trip. Hatim was always punctual, made sure we knew what to expect on each segment of the tour, only took us to places we were interested in visiting, and protected us from the aggressive street traders. His knowledge of the historical sites was extensive but didn’t overload us with a barrage of facts, only enough to understand the significance of the sites. Hatim made sure we had plenty of free time to wander the sites and explore for ourselves too.
The boat was very well kitted out and comfortable. Doesn’t look much from outside but inside everything was excellent. The staff on board were all very kind and helpful. The cleanliness on board was certainly 5* and the staff work hard to keep it so. The food on board was good, there was always something to appeal to everyone. Good choice of drinks also and reasonably priced. Our guide, Mahmoud, was really excellent! We feel so lucky to have had him with us for the duration of the cruise. He was very knowledgeable and also very kind.
I was lucky to be part of an amazing group travelling through the sites of Egypt. The group leader had used Egypt Unlimited Tours, with Magic Mo, and Egyptologist, Harris, before. I have to say this was the best accommodation, with seamless coordination - making sure everyone was looked after and taken care of from the moment we landed in Egypt, to the moment we bid farewell. Harris is by far the best Egyptologist one could hope to have on a trip full of awakened souls. His knowledge was vast and expansive, and my heart is grateful he was aligned with the energy of the group. If you want to be truly taken care of and looked out for and after, then this is the company to book with. I’ve already recommended you to a number of acquaintances who will be doing their own group trips next you.
Just finished a 5-day cruise from Luxor to Aswan. It was truly amazing!! I have wanted to take this tour my whole life and it proved even better than I was expecting. Egypt Unlimited provided a fantastic itinerary, leaving no stones unturned. Best yet was my private guide Ahmed Salama! Touring all these sites is fairly complex logistically, and I was very pleased to have Ahmed as my navigator. More importantly, Ahmed is like an encyclopedia of Egyptian History! We visited more than 10 sites and I must have asked several hundred questions. Never once did he not know the answer or provide a full explanation. It’s also worth mentioning that his English is perfect (he previously worked at the London Museum), which is not always easy to find in Egypt. Without reservation I wholeheartedly recommend Egypt Unlimited. You will be very lucky to get a guide with the experience and knowledge of Ahmed Salama!
As someone who already had a strong interest and background in Egyptian history, I was especially impressed by Sayed’s depth of knowledge and insight. Throughout our Nile cruise, we had many engaging discussions about ancient dynasties, temples, and mythology, and I truly appreciated how he was able to expand on topics I was already familiar with, offering new details and perspectives I hadn’t encountered before. Sayed’s passion for his country’s history is infectious, and his ability to share that knowledge in such an approachable and enthusiastic way made the experience even more meaningful. Beyond his expertise, he was also incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure we felt safe and included. Even after a bit of confusion during the trip, Sayed remained patient, understanding, and genuinely kind, handling everything with calm professionalism and a smile. It was a genuine pleasure getting to learn from and talk with someone who clearly loves what he does. I can’t recommend Sayed enough to anyone wanting a guide who brings both professionalism and personality to the experience.
Fabulous tour and experience. Our private guide Sayeed Daie Daie was with egypt unlimited tours was amazing and made our trip so wonderful! He was us all 5 days of the tour and was so knowledgeable and provided great info and tips. He made our experience unforgettable. The boat was the mayflower was wonderful, the staff very kind and helpful, and the food was amazing. Great trip in egypt!!!
Our private tour guide Sayeed Daie was amazing. His historical knowledge as an Egyptologist was fantastic but also his general sense of our needs was exceptional. He was funny, warm and overall, an amazing and friendly person. We would highly recommend this tour and ask for Sayeed.
AWESOME N COMFORTABLE The tour guide was really good Food was also good Theu provided veg food for no extra charge
The tour is absolutely stunning. I looked forward to every day. What made this experience so remarkable was the expertise, attention and care given by our tour guide, Mohamed Mahmuod - this is the third time that I’ve requested him to oversee the tour and each time he has been outstanding his knowledge and professionalism and his attention to detail is exceptional, and I will continue to recommend him to my friends around the world. Thank you for a great experience.
Overall, my family and friends and I had a great time on this Nile Cruise. Our guide, Amro, was amazing! He has a lot of passion for Egyptian history and it shows. He was so knowledgeable and I learned a lot. He would brief us on each location so we knew what to expect and how much and when tips were expected for drivers. He had a lot of informational tools including pictures and even a video of how Abu Simbel was moved. He was very patient with us even though I think we asked questions he had already talked about. The locations included are amazing! I was glad to be able to add on Abu Simbel and hot air ballooning. Some of the food was pretty average I would say, but there were many options other than Egyptian. The staff were all friendly and nice. The only complaint I would have is that the WiFi did not work. But, I would still highly recommend!
All the temples and tombs were incredible! We had Amro as a guide and he had a depth of knowledge about every obscure question we could think of, he was incredibly entertaining while explaining the sites to us, his English was fantastic, and we couldn’t ask for a better guide to show us the treasures of Egypt.
This experience really impressed me! Our guide Amro was awesome. Friendly and very knowledgeable. I loved the visual aids and extra knowledge he brought to our private group. He kept us safe and informed about what to expect at every location. The boat was clean and comfortable, the food was good and service staff were all very kind. We really didn’t want to leave! Overall would highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this 5-day, 4-night cruise from Luxor to Aswan. Our guide, Amro, was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about Egyptian history. We learned SO much. He really brought each of the sites we visited to life. He knows each area very well, and provides tips on safety and tipping culture so you’re not left guessing. Would highly recommend him. The boat was comfortable, and the food was great. Many options, so something for everyone! Only thing to note - WiFi does not work on the ship.
I highly recommend this tour. My tour guide was Diaa Araby and he was excellent. He tailored the tour to what I was looking to do, including seeing the sites of Luxor and Aswan. He took me to the temples of Karnak, Luxor, Philae, Abu Simbel, Horus, Queen Hatshepsut, and of course, the Valley of the Kings. The travel was seamless and he was a fount of knowledge. He provided so much information on the history and mythology and patiently answered my questions. I also did a felucca ride and visited the Aswan Dam. Diaa also indulged my love of falafel, which I very much appreciated. The Nile is beautiful and is an exceptional way to see Egypt.
We had the best tour guide in Egypt - Ahmed Gomaa. He shared so much amazing Egyptian history with us, knew all the extra interesting extra things to show us. We always felt 100% safe with him and his team, plus he helped navigate the local customs.
This was our second visit to Egypt, but our first experience with a Nile cruise. It certainly won’t be our last—there will be many more Nile adventures for us in the future. Egypt and Its People – 5/5 Stars If you’ve never been to Egypt but are considering a trip, don’t hesitate! Egypt is a land of adventure, history, and wonder, where you feel the presence of the gods in this extraordinary corner of Africa. They say Egypt is the “Mother of the World,” and when you visit, you’ll understand why. A trip to Egypt offers everything you could hope for in a memorable journey: rich history, breathtaking landscapes, delicious cuisine, and unparalleled hospitality. We found Egyptians to be among the kindest and most welcoming people we’ve ever met. Our love for the country brought us back the same year—after spending Easter in Sharm El-Sheikh with a day trip to Cairo, we returned at Christmas to explore Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan, and Cairo. We’re already planning another trip to uncover more of this magical and mysterious country. Next time, we’ll experience the Nile cruise in a different way as well. Our Guide Mustafa – 5/5 Stars! Our private guide, Mustafa, accompanied us for five unforgettable days. He is a kind, polite, and generous man who ensured everything ran smoothly, from our pickup in Luxor to our final hours in Aswan. Mustafa’s knowledge of ancient Egyptian history, gods, and myths was remarkable. His passion and motivation made every moment special, and we felt well cared for throughout. We highly recommend him and hope to meet him again in the future for another personalized journey. Cruise Boat: M/S Nile Carnival – 3/5 Stars If this review were based solely on the crew, the M/S Nile Carnival would earn 5/5 stars without question. The staff was always smiling, helpful, and exceptionally service-minded. However, other aspects of the cruise—particularly given the high price we paid—left us underwhelmed. Upon boarding, we were confused, as we initially believed our cruise boat would be another vessel entirely. The main photo on Tripadvisor featured the Sonesta Moon Goddess, which has balconies and higher-quality amenities, as shown in YouTube videos we had watched prior to booking. Unfortunately, the name of the actual cruise boat was not disclosed during our communication with the agency. To avoid confusion, I recommend confirming the name of the cruise boat with your agency in advance. The M/S Nile Carnival itself was decent but dated. The cabins and communal areas could benefit from renovations. Food & Drink: The food was of good quality, but the selection could have been better, especially considering the package price (included private guide): • $1,000 USD per person • An additional $150 USD per person for the Christmas season • A mandatory $5 USD per person per night tipping fee for the crew Water, coffee, tea, and other beverages are not included, even during meals. Only breakfast offers complimentary coffee and tea. Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi was a major disappointment. Not only was it not included in the package price, but the quality was extremely poor, even in the reception and lounge areas. It was completely unavailable in our cabin. This was surprising and frustrating given the premium price we paid. Tipping Culture: Be prepared to tip frequently. While tips are customary, we found it overwhelming at times. Even when booking pre-paid packages, transportation, or excursions, tips were still expected—and sometimes directly requested. Final Thoughts Our Nile cruise was an incredible experience overall, despite some frustrations with the boat itself. Our private guide Mustafa was amazing. The kindness of the crew, the breathtaking scenery, and the historical sites made it worthwhile. However, next time, we’ll do more thorough research on cruise boats to ensure a better fit for our expectations.
Treasures of Egypt is frankly a complete tour that we were lucky to do with our guide Ahmed who is an amazing person taking care of all we needed. He cared to know if we are comfortable in the room and was always on time. Accommodation and Food was great. Usually we are not travelling with a guide and plan the journeys and visits on our own. However not speaking the language in Egypt we thought it would be an advantage to have an organisation to fix all. We are very happy to have put our trust in Mo Luxury Tours. Also I would like to thank all the representatives and of course Ahmed for their assistance during the whole tour including the assistance at the airport. This was an outstanding service which we much appreciated. I will certainly recommend the company to others that are interested in visiting Egypt. We came back home with plenty of unforgettable memories. Heinz
We had a fantastic holiday with Egypt Unlimited! The sites were spectacular and the tour guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on the Nile. Our guide, Ahmed Mahmoud, was very knowledgeable and gave us excellent overviews of all the sites. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. We felt very safe. We would highly recommend Egypt as a holiday destination and Egypt Unlimited as tour company. We had such a memorable holiday experience with them!
This was my first Nile cruise. I had a great time sightseeing in Egypt with Salama as my personal guide. This tour was great because I was able to avoid the hot afternoon hours and it didn't put a strain on my body. Salama also took us to Nubian Village and Abu Simbel temple as an option, which added to the excitement. I think this is a great tour. I would recommend it to everyone.
Everything was sooooo well managed and great. The guided were professional, the cruise Hapi 5 was beautiful. Especially the chief Mustafa, and the bar.M/Ahmed. Very polite and very carring. Just the season is too hot to enjoy the sundeck.
This trip was amazing. Booking through Egypt Tours made everything hassle-free 🙌. Tours if at least six ancient temples and not one if them disappointed. If you want a little dose of ancient history, thus is the tour for you.
Everything about our trip and tour were amazing. From the airport pick until the airport drop-off. The cruise ship staff were of the highest caliber of staff one can ask for. Always at our service to meet any and all needs which we had. A traveler on this tour couldn’t ask for more. Our tour guide was Muhammad and he is a shining star. His professionalism and know-how about all things Egypts made our adventure all the more worth-while. All aspects of our trip, cruise and stay were beyond our expectations. We would recommend this trip, cruise option and especially Muhammad as your private tour guide to all who may be considering seeing Egypt via the Nile cruise. Don’t hesitate book now. A & N
We went on a 4 night Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan on MS Mayfair and we had an absolutely amazing trip. The boat is beautiful and the staff were fantastic, everyone was super friendly and the service was top notch, exactly what you'd expect (if not better!) from such a superb boat. Everything was spotlessly clean, the rooms and common areas were gorgeous and the sun deck was spacious with lots of little cabanas/sun beds. Throughout the trip we had a private guide (Mohammed from Aswan) and he was fantastic. He's got many years of experience as a guide, he's a trained Egyptologist and ancient Egypt is his passion and you can see that. He's a wealth of knowledge and he was patient explaining for the 5th time which pharaoh/god was which. :) Mohammed organised the taxis/transports from the boat to each of the sites and they say everything went super smoothly. There are a lot of people who are trying to sell you things especially at the touristy sites and Mohammed treated them all with dignity and respect while keeping us comfortable, which was really nice. We loved all the temples and we're still in awe how old, incredibly detailed and impressive they all were. The big daddy of all, Abu Simbel, was breathtaking and absolutely worth the 3hr drive there. Overall, excellent experience organised by a professional company and a brilliant guide!
Everything in the description of this tour came true and delivered as promised with excellent communication. That alone put this tour among our best experiences. Private tour is the way to go. Our guide for the whole trip, Ahmed Salama was a true pro and I really liked the way he worked with the two of us to understand what was important to us to experience while setting up each day for us to maximize our Egyptian experience. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and accessible. Highly recommend him personally. The ship crew would bend over backwards to help and all our asks were met. Final day you have the option to add a day-trip and although we were unable to do the Abu Simbel trip, he chartered a boat for us on the Nile and visited the Nubian villages which was a great, fun and relaxing way to end our journey. Egypt overall was such a great trip I will be back next time with my kids and will again use Egypt Unlimited and Ahmed Salama. Thank you for making those memories for me and my Father.
The Nile River cruise on the Kemet was the highlight of an amazing two weeks that we spent in Egypt. The dahabiya is gorgeous – whoever decorated has great taste. The staff were welcoming and attentive to whatever we needed to feel comfortable. The rooms were large and comfortable and there were plenty of common areas to hang out in and relax. There was a good mix of departing the boat to tour temples or villages and also time gliding along the Nile watching the sunset. I want to give a special “shout out” to the chef and staff. My husband and I requested vegan meals, and the chef exceeded our expectations on what he could create. Not only delicious regular meals, but also baking sweets for tea-time and desserts. The vegan food was so good that the other guests on the boat also ate it and were amazed. The food came “in waves” for each meal – there was so much food! We plan on visiting Egypt again and bringing our daughters. A cruise on the Kemet will be the cornerstone of the next trip.
Unfortunately the room was not the same as the picture shown Verey disappointed in Victor for posting without confirming the tour I feel I was cheated
We embarked on our Nile Cruise punctually, and our experience with our tour guide, Ahmed, was positive. As we delved into the wonders of Egypt's ancient legacy, including monumental temples, Ahmed consistently provided insightful introductions to each site, offering in-depth information before allowing us ample time to explore independently and capture memorable photos. Our vessel, the Carnival, proved to be well-equipped and responsive to our needs. The diverse selection of food exceeded our expectations, and the staff exhibited unwavering attentiveness and friendliness throughout the journey. In conclusion, we wholeheartedly recommend this Nile Cruise experience. It not only provided us with a fascinating exploration of Egypt's rich history but also ensured our comfort and satisfaction with the service from the Carnival crew and Ahmed, our knowledgeable guide.
A Nile river cruise should be on everyone's bucket list. It is an experience that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. Thanks to our highly knowledgeable and competent guide Sayed, we had an unforgettable time. His wealth of knowledge on the history of Egypt unlocked the wonders of this ancient nation and made it come alive. For a personalised and tailormade programme of excursions, Sayed is your man. We will certainly insist on having him as our guide on our next visit to Egypt.
Perhaps a little disappointing that we did not get the boat that we had booked in advance, but the old boat that we had was OK, and the crew friendly and nice. We advice others to have something to eat before arriving by air from Cairo in the morning, because you are taken directly to a several hours tour in Aswan and don't get anything but water before late lunch when you arrive at the boat in the afternoon. Otherwise everything was very good, like a dream to sail on the Nile, on a nice ship with good food and drinks. And, our guide, Mohammad, took excellent care of us from the very beginning to the end. He spoke good English (even though at times a little fast), and is very knowledgeable about ancient history and everything that was to see at all the temples and the graves that we saw. And, at the end of the tour, he arranged for a car at a reasonable price to bring us to our next destination at the Red Sea. We don't know about the other Guides, but Mohammad was excellent.
This tour was so well organized and professional, and it made my group of six extremely happy.. it was way more than we expected. Ahmed, our tour guild, was exceptional in providing information and was one of the best guild i ever had
This tour was overwhelmingly wonderful. Our guide, Mohammed Ahmed, was extremely knowledgeable with every site we visited. It was amazing to see all the history in the region and equally amazing to be accompanied by someone who was an expert in all of it. We cannot recommend this trip enough.
Mahmoud Noor was our tour guide for this trip and he was fabulous! He not only enthusiastically shared his extensive knowledge of Egypt's history and culture, he was instrumental in helping us get the right price for our souvenirs, helped us find and use ATMs, purchase water at a reasonable price, and even helped those who needed to stop at a pharmacy. Mahmood was so very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable that I can't imagine there being a better tour guide than him! Egypt Tours Portal made it very easy to add on extra activities which we were interested in doing and exceedingly helpful when my return flight home was canceled and I needed to add an extra night at a hotel and an extra day of sightseeing.
Mohamed Abdelghany was our tour guide for our recent trip to Luxor and Aswan. He was absolutely amazing! Mohamed has a vast knowledge of Egyptian history and culture, and he was able to make the ancient temples and tombs come alive for us. He was also a great storyteller, and he kept us entertained with his tales of the pharaohs and their gods. We especially enjoyed our visit to the Valley of the Kings, where Mohamed showed us the tombs of Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and other famous pharaohs. He was able to answer all of our questions about the tombs and share some of his favorite portions of the temple. We also visited Karnak Temple and Edfu Temple, and Mohamed was able to give us a fascinating tour of both. He explained the symbolism of the temples, and he showed us some of the hidden chambers and pointed out so many things we would have missed on our own, not to mention some of the best places to take photographs! Mohamed is a true Egyptologist, and he is passionate about his work. He is also a great people person, and he made us feel like we were part of his family. We highly recommend Mohamed Abdelghany as a tour guide, and we would love to go back to Egypt with him again someday. Overall, Mohamed Abdelghany was an amazing tour guide. He is knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly. We highly recommend him to anyone who is planning a trip to Egypt.
Loving every minute of this tour. Probably the best tour I’d ever done and I’d been to at least 26 countries so I’d done many tours. Our tour guide Sayed exceeded all expectations and is amazing, we never had to worry about anything and he took the best care of us, it was like going on vacation with a family. He also took us to Nubian village which we would never have found out by ourselves or even have known how to get there and it was one of my favorite parts of the tour, he even told us how much we should pay or tip so we never overpaid for anything. I loved the experience so much so I highly highly recommend it. Sayed is also very knowledgeable about the history and facts but he also allows us enough time to browse, take pictures and rest, he also has connections everywhere so we rarely ever have to wait for any attractions visits and we saw long lines of other people everywhere else, he’s made this trip perfect and I wouldn’t have had this level of experience if it wasn’t for him, so if you’re considering joining the tour 100% you should do it, better yet you should request Sayed when booking the tour specifically. I promise you won’t regret.
Accommodation: The boat was definitely not a 5-star cruise. The photos are not at all representative of what you get in terms of accommodation and we were very disappointed from the moment we got on the boat as it was well below our expectations. What you get is more of a 3-star. The accommodation was still good, but we thought we were getting better. Also, I didn’t like that the boat had a clothing shop with the merchant asking you if you wanted to buy something every time you passed him on the way to your room… Guide: Our guide Mahmoud was excellent. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. The only thing I would have preferred is if he customized his style more to us rather than do it his own way. For example he often made us walk and listen to him talk before leaving us to explore freely. I’m a photographer and I would have preferred to have him accompany us throughout the complex and explain things as I’m shooting. I need the freedom to explore and ask questions - this is the reason I book private tours. Nevertheless, Mahmoud was an amazing guide. Transportation: overall good transportation, but a few of the cars had tight legroom because they were sedans. A 5-star tour on Viator usually has an SUV.
Amazing experience with a great guide who shared a lot of knowledge with us and also have us free time to explore at each site. Food was good on the boat and rooms are clean and comfortable.
Ancient Egypt is a source for many of childhood wonder. Pyramids, animal headed gods and temples. To actually experience the glory of this ancient civilization is something else. Modern Egypt maybe a juxtaposition of ancient majesty and modern deprivation but a more welcoming and hospitable people you will not find. Yes, you will need to tip for everything but that is the reality of a country that has been subjected to repeated colonial rule and home grown dictators! The people experience a great deal of hardship, so put yourself in their position and be generous! A 2-week tour of Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel allows you enough time to see these major sites but you will also leave out much of what this amazing country had to offer. To get the most out of your time there are 3 things I would recommend... 1 a thoroughly planned itinerary with every detail considered, to that end Egypt Unlimited should be your first choice. 2 take a cruise down the Nile. There are faster ways to see Egypt but there are none that are more evocative. The nile has been the source of life for Egypt for thousands of years and to understand that, you must experience the river. 3 a guide who knows the highlights, the context of history, and can bring to life stories that were first told 4000 years ago. That's Mo, his knowledge, humor and experience ensure that as his guest you will get the very most from your visit to Egypt.
I booked this trip because I had heard that it was amazing. The cruise was excellent, the service on the ship was very good. The guide assigned to me, named Samar Mansour, was wonderful. She is always willing to help me and answer all my questions about Egyptian monuments and culture. He knows a lot about the history of the monuments. Every day I was surprised by the energy I had, while fasting (I went in Ramadan). She is also an excellent photographer. 100% recommended the trip.
The tour was Amazone, the temple of Edfu was Magnificent. And the temple of Karnak was also very impressive. Our guide, Emad knew a lot, was very friendly and arranged everything for us
Very efficiently organised with dedicated staff waiting for us at every step of our journey. Really private (a guide for just the two of us). Our guide (Mustaffa) traveled with us during the whole cruise and guided us very professionally with plenty of personalisation. All tickets were taken care of. The quality of the personal cars and drivers was excellent. The agency helped us also with our delayed luggage. We were never pushed to visit any shops or factories. Highly recommendable!
Our Guide In Cairo for the first 2 days was Nevin Morris, who was so in knowledgable on everything and took us to experience all other things off the usual agenda. The Amir Al Shakairy who join us for our Nile Cruise from Luxor was amazing: His historical knowledge and conveying 'it to us at each site was extraordinary . He really made the trip amazing for us and would recommend anyone and all to ask for his guidance on their trip t¡o Egypt. Egypt Unlimlited Tours who was our organiser for our trip, Mohamed Mostafer went far and beyond to accommodate us and organise and overwhelming experience! Eternal thanks for the most extraordinary trip and experience!!
Mohamed demonstrated unparalleled excellence in communicating his vast ancient Egyptian knowledge involving thorough hieroglyphic understanding, culture, architecture, history, and speech. He has been an EXCELLENT GUIDE, the best we have ever experienced! And, he has become a trusted friend!
Not every day you meet a tour guide who ends up becoming a life long friend! We had such an amazing time on the 4night/5day cruise from a Luxor to Aswan! All the places we visited were stunning but our tour guide Sayed made the trip that much more special. We had so much fun together, laughing all day, learning about Egyptian history and visiting some amazing locations. His knowledge of Egyptian history is insane! There wasn’t a question I asked that he didn’t know the answer too. We felt super safe with Sayed, it’s important to have a local guide so people don’t try to scam you and you can negotiate prices better. We’re traveling for our honeymoon and Sayed arranged to have a cake delivered to our dinner table. Egypt was our 29th country and Sayed was the best tour guide we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back one day to visit some other location with him. If you’re booking a tour with Unlimited Egypt you have to put in a special request to have Sayed as a guide. Sayed if you’re reading this thanks for being such a special person with such a big heart! God bless you and your family! We hope to see you again someday! Aloha, Ryan
We spent an amazing 5 days aboard a Nile cruise with our awesome tour guide Sayed. Everything from start to finish was seamless. The boat was beautiful, the food was good, and the staff were very nice. Our tour guide Sayed made our whole experience on the tour our favorite part of our entire time in Egypt. Sayed is an experienced Egyptologist with a deep knowledge of ancient Egyptian history, but on top of that he’s a kind and funny person who we really enjoyed getting to know. We’re sad to leave! Make sure you get Sayed as your tour guide!
Egypt unlimited team did an amazing job to help us have a great vacation with family and friends!! Their service was top notch and they picked luxury accommodation and transportation all through the vacation. Additionally our guides were knowledgeable and personable and flexible.
