Lucerne Ch Experience: Cheese, Chocolate, Chapel Bridge & Château

Great discovery of the city with high quality tasting of cheese, chocolate and wine. Our guide was very passionate and knowledgeable, we enjoy the tour as a team.

Our tour with Merlin was exactly what we were looking for! He was very knowledgeable about the area and also provided great recommendations for places to eat and visit in the area. We did the 2 hour plus boat tour and it gave us just the right amount of history, sights, and tastes of the city without having to commit to a full day.

Luis was wonderful! We had a great afternoon tasting chocolate, cheese, wine and learning about the city.

This was a great tour. Luis was fantastic…very knowledgeable and a fun guide. The chocolate, wine, and cheeses were all excellent. We added on the boat ride which was well worth it.

This is an excellent tour! Luis is super friendly and very knowledgable. The pickup spot was conveniently located, and we got to walk and see a good portion of Lucerne. In addition to the chocolate, cheese, and wine, Luis also can give you tons of recommendations of what to see/do/eat next during your trip. My friend and I are so glad to have met Luis and start our Lucerne visit this way! Highly recommend!

Booked through a travel agent - our tour guide was so informative, personable and enjoyable to walk around with. Highly recommend as a perfect amount of time to learn about Lucerne and eat and drink in the city, but nice that it doesn’t take up your entire day.

This was a fantastic experience, and Luis was an excellent guide! We only had a few hours in this lovely city, but this was the perfect way to get a feel for the town. Luis was very knowledgeable, and the pride he has for his home really came out as he guided us around the area. We were shown excellence in Swiss chocolate making, learned the history of the area, and ended with a refreshing stop to taste local wine and cheese. By the end of the tour we were sorry to leave Lucerne. We have already put it on our list of places we will be returning to. We highly recommend this tour!

Luis, the guide, was excellent and knowledgeable of Switzerland and the subject of the tour. But, for the cost we only had one chocolate location sampling, and one location for cheese sampling, 3 small cheese pieces only. I expected more for $185.00. The tour I took from Amsterdam was MUCH better.

Isabella was informative and provided a good overview of the city in the history behind some of the biggest landmarks. However, she was constantly looking at her phone and neither the chocolatier nor the wine and cheese facility were prepared for us. The cheese facility actually dropped the cheese plate on the table with no understanding or description of the cheeses nor was there any explanation of the wine selected in fact they didn’t offer the wine we had to ask for it. Isabella was left to describing the cheese and she certainly wss not a cheese expert. The lower rating was more around the organization and establishments than anything else.

Luis did a great job of sharing his love for Lucerne & Switzerland. We loved the chocolate and cheese and wine tasting. He filled us with history and memories as well as gave us dinner recs. If you get Luis, you will fall in love with his beautiful city of Lucerne.

This tour was a lot of fun. The chocolate and cheese were so delicious. And it was great to try some new wine. The tour guide, Luis, was very knowledgeable and made the tour so much fun. It was a wonderful way to learn about Luzern - and enjoy tasty treats and wine along the way.

This is way overpriced for what you get. If it weren't for Luis being such a great host i would go 1 star. First stop is literally a shop you can visit in almost any major city, and the stop on this tour is in the train station. Next you go to a castle to look at the city and head right back down. No real castle tour, just walking through to the patio where the staff will know you are not guests and treat you as such. Finally you have two glasses of wine and some cheese and fin. Seems like a lame way to drop almost $400 usd after conversion. Skip this. Walk it yourself.

My family and I had an amazing time seeing the sites and learning the history of Lucerne and even got to enjoy some amazing chocolate, wines and cheeses. Lazlo is an a amazing tour guide. He had us laughing, was always offering to take our pictures and was very knowledgeable about the places we visited. He even offer some recommendations on places to eat and site see. We would definitely take another tour with Lazlo. Thank you, Lazlo for helping create a very enjoyable afternoon with me and my family. 😊

Great tour! The chocolate was so good! The store offered a freezer bag, so how could you not buy some. Then the tour guide took us on a walking tour, she was very informative. Then the cheese and wine tasting. The white wine was so good with the cheese!

Our guide was very knowledgable and provided us with a great expererience. She answered all of our questions and modified the tour when the funicular was out of order. Overall we had a great day!

This was a small tour around Lucerne. Martina was very knowledgeable and fun! We loved hearing about Lucerne’s history. We also loved the chocolate stop. And the wine and cheese part was superb. Highly recommend!

This was my second time in Lucerne and I learned so much I had never heard before. The food and drink were wonderful too! Martina was an excellent guide! She was so kind and incredibly knowledgeable. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

We had one day in Lucerne with our adult children and made this our one tour - SO GLAD WE DID! Luis was so friendly and took us to the most delicious restaurants for tastings of local food and drinks. It wasn’t all cheese - we sampled German sausages & sauerkraut as well as Flammkuchen (very thin German “pizza”. We ended at L’a’derach Chocolate to sample 5 different types, all decadent! This was an incredible tour well worth the money for the amount of food and drink that it provided, plus the interesting background on Lucerne’s food culture. We added the one-hour boat ride, which honestly wasn’t necessary. It has been so hot here that to sit in the sun for an hour wasn’t worth it.

Fabulous guide and wonderful insights as well as great chocolate, wine, and cheese. We felt pampered and our guide’s humor as well as care were excellent. Highly recommmeded!

This was a great excursion. From chocolate tasting to wine and cheese tasting..all good. Enjoyed hearing the local historical stories too. We were just 4 people so that was awesome.

We had an excellent time with our guide. She was very informative and took us to the castle and inside a beautiful church. The wine cellar was the highlight of the tour and paired nicely with three different kinds of cheeses

I feel that we didn’t get our moneys worth and would t recommend this experience. We walked a lot. We visited a chocolate store in the train station, walked to the white castle on the hill and then back to a pub for the wine and cheese pairing. The pairing was the only part that we couldn’t have necessarily done on our own. There wasn't any great information on the area during the walking tour. I felt let down. The saving grace was the other family that was on the tour was awesome. But there’s no way we should have paid the amount of money for a non-private tour

Luis gave us a fabulous tour of many of Lucerne’s highlights combined with delicious chocolate, cheese and wine tastings. He was extremely friendly and knowledgable and shared some excellent recommendations and fun facts as only a local could. We enjoyed our time with Luis greatly and highly recommend taking a tour with him. Our packages also included tickets for a boat tour of Lake Lucerne, which was also very nice. Thank you, Luis!

We had a great time on this tour! The chocolate, cheese and wine were all delicious, and our guide, Florence, was very knowledgeable and passionate about Lucerne--we learned a lot. This was a great way to spend the limited time we had in the city.

Description of the tour was a little vague. “ chateau “ was just a hotel on top of the hill with a nice view. We looked at chapel bridge and got some history but then didn’t cross it. Chocolate part was nice but really just a commercial for the manufacturer. Luis was very friendly and engaging. Pretty pricey for what it was but seems everything in Lucerne is.

Make sure you have an app on your phone that allows you to communicate by email with your tour guide who will be looking for you at the designated place and to receive your tickets to the boat trip around Lucerne. Our tour guide Luis was excellent.

Wonderful experience!! Really enjoyed that we could set our own pace with the kids and even beyond the tour was how wonderful it was to hear about various different things we’d seen around town. Highly recommend! The cheese in a centuries old private wine cellar was very special! Also big thanks for helping us find/book a magical dinner!!

This was a great tour with the perfect blend of history, culture, and of course cheese and chocolate. Our guide Sarah was wonderful! She shared her love of her city and went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. It was so nice to spend the afternoon learning about Lucerne and tasting chocolate/cheese with her!

Laszlo did a great job as our tour leader. We saw so much on the walking tour, tasted some amazing chocolates at Laderach in the Train Station, went up to Chateau Gotsch, and had great wines and cheeses at Opus Lazero! Finished off our tour with a boat ride over to Bugenstock. A fun afternoon!

Fantastic quick tour of Lucerne with great chocolate and cheese. Trip up to Gustch with incredible views. Cozy room for the wine and cheese tasting. Luis was the perfect tour guide - fun and informative. You can tell he enjoys giving these tours.

Luis was a fantastic guide who shows his love for his city, Lucerne. He shared stories of the history, languages and geography. Our first stop was Chocolate tasting which was very interesting and delicious. Next were views of the city that was phenomenal. The end was a great cheese and wine tasting at Opus (wine bar) which was very informative and great. Nice way to end the day. Highly recommend this tour and with Luis.

Unfortunately this tour cancelled 40 minutes before the start time after i had traveled out to Lucerne. Pretty disappointed they did not do this in advance after the effort of getting there. It could be i was the only person who booked it but any communication from the operator would have been appreciated. I just got a cancellation notification 40 minutes before start instead.

Sarah gave a great tour! She was personable and gave a down to earth tour. It was interesting learning more about Lucerne from someone who grew up there and had good recommendations beyond the tour. The chocolate and cheese were delicious! Our group was only 4 people which was nice because we had a chance to chat with everyone. Definitely recommend!

This tour was excellent! I typically HATE tour groups, but this was definitely an exception. Sarah gave us a great tour. It was very personable and really just felt like an old friend was showing us around her home town. She told some great stories about the town and some of the locations. The chocolate tasting and cheese tasting were delicious. The walk to the chateau was a nice way to walk through some of the old town. If you also add the boat cruise, the guide will wish you well and send you onto the boat so you can take the departure time that works best for you. She also recommended several other sites to visit in Lucerne and the surrounding area. As we were looking through our pictures later that evening, my daughter was disappointed that we didn't take any pictures with our guide, Sarah, because she was one of the highlights of the whole experience. This was a great addition to our stay in Lucerne.

Nasser was an excellent guide with great knowledge of local history, wine, cheese, chocolate, and the culture of Lucerne and Switzerland. We ended up on a private tour since we were the only guests who booked on this weekday afternoon. Despite it being a cloudy October day, we were treated to an entertaining afternoon, some great views of the city, and good company as we learned more about Swiss culture and history. The chocolate and local wine were definitely highlights. Highly recommend!
