Lucerne Best Guided Walks

Luis, our guide, was amazing! He paced the tour really well, and shared wonderful insights about the town’s history, culture etc. Our family really enjoyed this tour.

Sophia was lovely and very knowledgeable. She showed us parts of the city that we would have missed.

My wife and I visited Lucerne for three days. The walking tour was one of our activities. Sophie was very prompt and professional. She was very knowledgeable about the area and it was fun learning about Lucerne history with her. I would strongly recommend this activity for anyone visiting Lucerne and Sophie was great.

Great guide. Isabella was very knowledgeable and had great recommendations for the rest of my trip as well which was a bonus. The tour is active and there are steps and hills so wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

We had a nice walk with our guide, Luis, who was very well versed in the history of the city, along with where the best restaurants were. We can’t wait to visit again and compare the chocolates of Luzern to Geneva.

Isabella was knowledgeable, friendly and happy to answer anything we asked. The tour was 2 hours and ran the whole time. We didn’t do the optional chocolate part but wished we did. I will say this is not for anyone who can’t go up and down stairs and hills.

It's so worth it! The tour took place as i was the only customer (low season end of November). So it turned into an exclusive tour of lovely Luzern! We started von Torbogen Luzern then taken our way down onto the Reuss. Numerous details, historical, scientifical & cultural facts (all spiced up with old photographs) to the pathway covered: the churched, the Wooden Bridge with it's significance and troubled history. We continued our walk through the city with a lot of infos on local restaurants & places of interest, shopping. We landen on panorama points on the defence wall and explore it in promising weather of sun and coming snow. Enriched by stories of medieval history & behaviour and listening to the breath of the dragon whispers coming from Pilatus . It was an exciting journey, brilliantly guided tour into past, present, culture & civilisation of Luzern. I would recommend to my best friend. It made my visit here very special.

Luis was great. Friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He was excellent and gave us great suggestions on eating, sites to see.

Isabella was a fine tour guide to see the city on foot including even the city walls. Only issue I have is that the tour was 2 hours late as I, a solo traveler, had to be grouped with next tour (of only two people mind you) with only a 20 minutes notice…as such, would *highly* not recommend to any single travelers looking for a tour of the city as you will be at the mercy of the guide company on when they will honor your purchase.

The tour started 30 minutes late. We did appreciate the fact that we were contacted! They stated that our guide would have a black jacket and a blue back-pack! Lol. Many people match that criteria! It would have helped, it they said a light blue back pack! We feel the tour guides of viator should have a flag to identify the tour. This would help immensely! Anyway, Isabella was great! She was easy to understand, and she accomplished our expectations! Thanks Isabella

I loved getting a tour of Lucerne. Isabella made sure we got to see the highlights of the city and gave detailed descriptions of events that were significant to each site.

This is the perfect first thing to do in Lucerne. Louis was a fabulous host showing us around his adopted home town. He has a vast knowledge of the town and offered great tips on other things to see and restaurants.

It was very pleasant! Mostly leisurely but a little bit of a climb at one point. It definitely pointed out all the main points of Luzern!

This tour was really interesting. We just did the guided walking tour with no add-ons. It ended up being a private tour for the two of us as nobody else had booked it. Saw so much of the city.

If I could give it a zero, I would. Canceled 1 hour before after I explained I had already walked to meeting area. they said they canceled due to rain. It did not rain!! said they would give a refund— still trying to make that happen!! Be VERY careful with this TO in Lucerne… lots of folks had issues over the last few days.

Elena was the perfect guide. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, funny, and generous with her stories and myths that extend beyond facts and figures. 2 full hours and covered much of Old Town. Highly recommend.

Our guide Martina was OUTSTANDING…. Told us many stories about old town Lucerne while strolling across bridges and visiting historic sights. Great views from the city wall area.. highly recommend…especially with Martina as ur leader.

The guide gave a comprehensive tour of the major points of the city. We were glad we were able to book it on our first morning here so that we could visit many of the places he mentioned. The guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and enthusiastic about his city! Highly recommended!!

Luis was absolutely incredible. He communicated with us before the tour to confirm and we agreed to start our tour earlier. He took us to all the must-see places at a casual pace and was extremely knowledgeable about Lucerne and its history. We felt like we were spending a couple of hours with a good friend. Highly recommend him for this tour and any other that he might lead.

Well worth it if you’re in Lucerne for a day and have a little time to capture its history. Luis our guide was fantastic and knowledgeable! He was happy to answer all types of questions and give us a good sense of Swiss culture.

We had an excellent tour of Lucerne guided by Martina. She was superb, knowledgeable and friendly. She took us around the old wall city. She provided us information on restaurants, bars and other places to visit.

Learnt a lot about the city of Lucerne. The walk still went ahead even when it was raining and the guide helped us stay dry as much as possible. Still an amazing experience during the rainy days

Isabella was great. Very kind, knowledgeable and did not rush us. Went a nice pace. I thought I was going to see exactly what I had seen on my own the day before but actually saw new things throughout the tour that w would have not done on my own.

Luis was an excellent tour guide. We saw parts of the old town that we would never had discovered on our own. He gave us a historical perspective of the wall towers and buildings. He also pointed out cafes and restaurants that were worth visiting. A highlight was the chapel bridge and the Lion monument.

Luís our tour guide was excellent! Great communication ahead of time and punctual. He has a warm personality and made everyone feel welcome. His love for the city is evident! He shared a lot of the history with pictures on his iPad to provide greater context of historical events. Our group was small with a mix of ages, including children. Luís even provided recommendations for things to do after the tour for both adults and kids. He was very happy to take pictures for us and answered all our questions about the city. One of the best parts of the tour was getting out of the tourist areas and seeing the more scenic and quieter surrounding areas, that most visitors would never know about or venture to explore.

This was a very enjoyable tour. Laslov was interesting, pleasant and entertaining. It was a great introduction to Lucerne and gave us lots of recommendations of places to eat and drink as well as suggested things to do while in Lucerne.
