One of the best stays we experienced throughout our travels in Switzerland. The room was huge, and gave our family plenty of room to maneuver. The staff was so kind and welcoming. We had to utilize two strollers. Which meant coming in through the restaurant to take advantage of the elevator to our rooms. No one minded us at all. They were welcoming and made the kiddos feel so special. Terrific location within walking distance of all the sites, and the train/ferry stations. Can not recommend highly enough.

The restaurant terrace was a standout, with excellent food and breathtaking river views that perfectly captured the atmosphere of the city. Around the hotel, within walking distance, there are plenty of restaurants, a Coop supermarket, and many beautiful places to visit, making it easy to explore and enjoy Lucerne. Combining a prime location, quality accommodations, stunning scenery, and genuine hospitality, Hotel des Balances is an outstanding choice for any visit to Lucerne.

One of my favorite features was the beautiful old wooden staircase, which adds so much character and charm to the property. The hotel does a wonderful job of blending historic elegance with modern comfort. Every detail felt thoughtfully maintained, and the atmosphere was unforgettable. Our stay at Hotel des Balances was exceptional from the moment we arrived. We traveled during the railroad strike coming from Italy, and Vanessa at reception immediately brought a sense of calm and reassurance during what could have been a very stressful arrival. Our reservation was fully prepared, check-in was seamless, and the professionalism shown by the staff throughout our stay never wavered. The room itself was spectacular. Beautifully maintained, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared with personal touches that made the experience feel welcoming and refined. The view was truly outstanding, and the double French doors opening onto the balcony added the perfect touch each morning. Waking up to that atmosphere made the stay feel even more special. The location could not have been better. Everything was within walking distance, including the train station, restaurants, shopping, and the waterfront, making it incredibly easy to enjoy Lucerne. The level of care shown by the hotel team stood out once again when we received notice the night before departure that our flight had been rescheduled. The staff handled the situation with professionalism, patience, and genuine attentiveness, allowing us additional time in the room to ease the stress of the unexpected delay. Hotel des Balances delivers an elevated experience through its exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and prime location. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lucerne and look forward to returning in the future.
