The experience was wonderful and shouldn’t be skipped if you’re in Luang Prabang. It was relaxing sitting on the cruise with a cold drink and just enjoying the sunset. The staff were friendly and we had a fun activity whilst onboard. I would recommend to bring a portable handheld fan though as it was hot when the cruise was stationary for a bit for people to enjoy the view. Overall, very much recommended.

This trip was cancelled so not sure why I keep getting notifications. However, we were told that it was cancelled because there weren’t enough passengers. We were disappointed, however we were lucky enough to have a sunset cruise through the accommodation that we booked. The Namkhan was wonderful and had their very own boat and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
This was by far the best looking boat out there.. it is double deck there's snacks in a drink that comes with it and or you can purchase more snacks and drinks if you'd like.. the activities on the boat were fabulous this is 10 times better than the experience I thought I was going to get
No designated meeting point what send the tour opreator and Viator. They weren't looking for us. What they gave as the meeting point doesn't reflect reality. We are regular travelers, but we haven't been like this before. No one was waiting for us at the location. I don't recommend it.The support also only sent what the local tour operator sent.. no matter how much I told them it wasn't appropriate. If I don't contact them the day before, they won't send it either... On the spot is much cheaper !
We paid $35 per person. When we got to the departure location, the company was advertising it for 295,000 Kip ($13.57) per person. I knew there would be a price difference, but triple is a total rip off price gouging. You can go to Sa Sa Sunset Cruise yourself, and not get ripped off. Screw Viator!!! Never will use them again.
Lovely chilled time on the river. But. Don’t book through Tripadvisor, you pay well more than double than you’d pay by just turning up. 11USD is all you should need to pay. I didn’t expect Tripadvisor to be such a rip-off! Also, the check-in staff didn’t even know what to do with my booking confirmation, and I had to wait 15 minutes for the manager to turn up to verify and approve my booking whilst lots of others boarded and found their seats. Now here’s waiting to see whether Tripadvisor will actually be honest enough to publish this review. Also, be aware the included ‘snack’ has egg in it so if you don’t or cannot eat egg, there’s nothing to snack on for you.
The ship has a romantic, boho touch to it which allows you to relax completely. The food is also great you can pre-book a special 7 Lao dishes dinner or choose some great snacks from the bar menu. Also during the cruise I experienced a really special "fish ritual" which gave the last finishing touch to the whole experience. Highly recommend.
The cruise was lovely and about as expected. Terrific views of the river establishments, and the sunset was stunning. The departure could have been handled better, and the departure point could have been more clearly designated. Overall though, I'd do it again, and very happily.
A very beautiful and romantic river cruise at sunset. Beautiful boat, illuminated with lanterns and delightful music. We ordered and paid for this trip on Tripadvisor, but at three times the price than on site. We felt ripped off for this reason and will only check the prices on site in future.
Very nice experience to enjoy the sunset 🌅 Staff is very friendly and nice. Thank you Sasa cruise for this peaceful moment to celebrate the end of the day ! Plus, they have a little surprise at the end 🐟
Great cruise and friendly staff at Sa Sa Cruises. Would recommend going if you want to see the sunset. I would recommend booking in person as the price is about $12 compared to $35 on Tripadvisor.
SaSa Sunset Cruise lasts for two hours and it was a great way to spend an afternoon on a slow boat. First, we were greeted by the friendly host and could choose our table at the boat. Everybody got one welcome drink for free and the drinks and food was available throughout the whole trip. Athmosphere was really relaxing and chill and service friendly. There were also severeal activities going on, first we followed the tradition and added some fish from the small bowl to the aquarium. Later we all wrote one of our fears and one of our hopes one the banana leaf. All the wishes and hopes were released together with the fist to the river, symbolising a new beginning. The fears/worries were dumped with the rock to the bottom of the river. The ceremony was quite cool. Of course the sunset was super beautiful.
Very chilled out experience overall. The staff were lovely. The boat is nice and the views are beautiful.
I stumbled upon Sa Sa Life sunset cruise by accident, which easily turned out to be the highlight of my trip. The crew, service, the slow boat ride, added to the spectacular sunset over the Mekong river were unforgettable! And I learned a meaningful philosophy along the ride as well. Priceless memories!!
The booking said tour starts at 1730. Boat left at 1700. You did not provide a meeting location. Only a geographical latitude, longitude. There was no guide, even though indicated. I expect a partial refund of HK$250.
The atmosphere is typically peaceful and romantic. Let yourself be lulled by the lapping of the water, a cocktail in hand, while the mountains and lush vegetation parade under the waning sun
The sunset cruise in Luang Prabang allows you to discover the city from another angle. From the Mekong, the view is breathtaking of the mountains and riverside villages. It is a simple but deeply soothing spectacle. It is ideal for enjoying the natural beauty and serenity of this UNESCO World Heritage city.
A moment suspended. The exceptional sunset view of the surrounding fantastic scenery ... while comfortably sipping a delicious cocktail or a cold drink ... and that’s not all: it’s hard to talk about it without saying too much, but I hope you enjoy the end-of-trip surprises as much as they did.
Watch out! Price is more than twice as high on TripAdvisor as on the spot. We paid 68 euros for two people. On site it would have cost only 25 euros. In addition, we had problems entering because the lady on site only accepts paper receipts of payment in cash. The tour is sold online, but the voucher sent by mail is not accepted. We had to discuss for half an hour and wait for the manager to get on board. The trip also started half an hour later than planned. This was communicated to all participants. Only we have not received any information, mail or anything. The ride itself was ok, but not sensational. Prices for drinks on board but very fair.
Well! You can't help the weather, as you know. But we had booked online, and all who read this... not book online. Far too expensive locally by half cheaper. The 2 hour trip was quite nice but really not worth the money. Released a drink for everyone, also quite nice but you don't need it. Prices on the boat really okay. Conclusion : Look locally, there are better trips on the Mekong if you want to experience this. 2 points because it was nice, but not anymore.
Nice trip, very full boat, drinks and entertainment good, food not so good, hard chicken skewers. If you go down to the river and pay for the trip in cash before 5am, it's much cheaper.
