This was a great resort! We’ve been traveling thru Asia for a bit & this was the best hotel we’ve stayed. It’s beautiful. The decor in all the different areas is lovely! Service is 5star, from the moment one walks in to our departure, we were made feel welcome all the time. The grounds are gorgeous & so well kept. The room was large & so comfortable! They provided bottle water all the time! The included breakfast was delicious! It had both western & Asian options. We had dinner at their restaurant & it was also very good. I’ve stayed in much more pricier places & we’ve never had such a good experience.

In A Nutshell: -Staying at Satri House was nice overall. -The hotel name means "woman" bc its a woman-owned business which is cool. -The property is historic as it was once the former home of a Lao prince from the early 1900's. -The room I stayed in was on the 2nd level. -It had a really nice patio & the room was fairly large w/ very nice decor inside/outside. -The bathroom is split w/ the shower on one-side & the toilet on the other side. -The AC works well, but you will feel sick when it blasts down on your face all night. -The free breakfast was good & you can secure a nice seat over-looking a small pond, it's a beautiful way to start your day. -I loved the layout of the property as it feels like you are stepping back into time. -It feels very authentic & you can even help yourself to whiskey everyday in the library. -The green tiles in the swimming pools were very unique & they make a nice backdrop for photos. -Actually every place makes a really nice background for photos. -The Lao massage at the spa was good & you will feel a little sore afterwards. Overall, I gave this hotel 4 stars bc of the mosquitoes. The staff do come to spray your rooms, but I dont think the spray works well bc I always got bit & just having the spray spread everywhere was a little concerning.
Beautiful colonial-style property with a peaceful atmosphere, but the pricing for extra services was honestly disappointing. We asked the hotel to arrange a simple ride to a restaurant in the city center only about 1 km away, and they charged 150,000 kip, which felt extremely unreasonable compared to normal local prices in Luang Prabang. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only situation where additional services seemed heavily overpriced. While the hotel looks lovely, the overall experience felt more focused on charging guests for every little thing rather than genuine hospitality
The hotel itself was beautifully designed and built. We were staying at the suite facing the pool. The interior was a bit vintage but well maintained. Love the silk cushions, vintage carpets and the teak furniture. And the cleanness was great, walking on the old wooden floor and the bathroom tiles felt very comfortable and clean. The house keeping lady made our night bed when we were out which was a bonus. The rest of the staff team were also helpful and hospitable during our stay. The breakfast was decently good. Love the pools especially the lap pool which was about 1.8m deep. I had an enjoyable swim in it. Highly recommended the suite if you’re into the architecture style. The hotel is located slightly far from the city center in terms of walking. But there are hotel bikes and e-scooters nearby which takes about 5 minutes to downtown. The ac is right above the bed so it might get a bit loud and chilly in the night. And seemed like the hot water was running out when I tried to refill the bathtub the second time. Anyway still very nice
Incredible hotel - definitely in top 5 best ones I’ve stayed in. It’s a gorgeous historical property, meticulously maintained and incredibly serene. All the facilities and amenities are top notch, 2 pools, a spa, a gift shop, 2 libraries and plenty of spots to linger and relax. The restaurant is beautiful and food is tasty. Breakfast was fantastic too and overall service was deserving of 5 stars.
