Our Lady Of Lourdes, Guided Tour, On Foot, Of The Sanctuary.

I really loved the story and so Amy people with candles was magical. The Apparitions: In 1858, a 14-year-old peasant girl named Bernadette Soubirous reported seeing an apparition of a "beautiful lady" while gathering firewood at the grotto. The Timeline: The lady, later identified by the Catholic Church as the Virgin Mary (under the title of the Immaculate Conception), appeared to Bernadette a total of 18 times between February 11 and July 16, 1858. The Mandate: During these visions, the apparition requested that priests build a chapel at the site and that people should come there in procession. This request led directly to the construction of the massive architectural complex seen in the photos. The Sacred Water Discovery: During the 9th apparition on February 25, 1858, the apparition instructed Bernadette to "drink at the spring and wash in it." Bernadette dug into the muddy ground of the grotto, revealing a hidden, natural spring. Healing Beliefs: The water from this spring currently feeds the baths and water taps at the sanctuary. It is considered sacred because millions of pilgrims believe it possesses physical and spiritual healing properties.

Our guide Cathy was absolutely outstanding. She is extremely knowledgeable about the sanctuary at Lourdes and has been doing these tours for many years. She also had a great touch of knowing just how much information to convey to keep us interested but without letting things bog down. It can be a challenging balance for a tour guide, but she was exactly on-point. My wife and I would highly recommend her as a tour guide to anyone who is interested in visiting and learning about the sanctuary at Lourdes.

My 13th pilgrimage to this amazing Sanctuary was like the previous 12 in that I wouldn't trade going here for any other place in the world. My first visit in 2011 just turned my life into a Spiritual journey that continues to exist to this day. The Crowned Virgin Lady of Lourdes was the scene of my very first encounter here. Praying the Rosary in the miraculous Grotto, attending Mass there also, lighting a Candle to pray for loved ones in need, drinking and washing yourself with the Grotto water as requested by Our Lady to Bernadette, walking the Stations of the Cross with Jesus are just some of the many activities you can participate in. I always stay a minimum of 1 week and if possible longer. I will forever be grateful to God for giving us this gift to His people and all through the Blessed Mother of Jesus with St Bernadette as the 'Chosen" servant to give us the Message of Lourdes. Mary brings us closer to Jesus and when we come here in prayer, here Heaven touches the Earth. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us

Cathy was our tour guide and she was excellent. She picked us up directly from our apartment in Lourdes and took us on a walking tour of the Sanctuary of Lourdes, the Grotto, and all three Basilicas. We had a large family group that had elderly people as well as small children, and we had to stop and wait multiple times for our group to catch up. However, Cathy was very patient and accommodating. She spoke very good English and she did a great job explaining the many details of the sites we were touring. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone who has not been to Lourdes before. It helped us get the most out of our visit to Lourdes.

Our guide Susan was wonderful. She answered all of our questions and explained everything about the Grotto, churches, and frescoes. I’m glad we had a guide as we would have missed so much without one.

Susan was great. She made our walk through the grounds organized, informative and a pleasure. A great experience for us visiting as she is very knowledgeable about the area and shares valuable information. Very enjoyable, I will do it again.

Over priced food, service slow. Waiter was good, not his fault that it was over 1 hour from the time we sat down until we got our entree. Will not be back.

Susan, our lovely British guide, was wonderful! Almost a native of Lourdes, 42 years here, she knew exactly where to go and how to tell a story! Susan listened to what we were interested in exploring and explained everything in just enough detail. I would highly recommend her!!

Can’t say enough about how wonderful this tour was. Susan our guide was wonderful and so knowledgeable. We had no idea how magnificent Lourdes was and Susan took her time to answer all of our questions. Go to Lourdes you will not be disappointed. I had chills as I walked the grounds.

Danuka the Manager & his very skillful team took over all the triedness from everyone on my family - soon he bacame a mate to my 5yr old grandson (U'll can understand how he looked after the others) the 3 tents was very clean & nicely equiped Ac was very nicely operated even with 24hour genarotor power at this worse period of fuel shortage - food was truly excellent - He gave lot of correct advices what to do what not to do - took our childrean for a super bush track walk they lost their words to say how great it was for them - thids include our 5yr old grandson after 2hrs early morning walk in the jungle - Hats off to Tribe Yala team - looking forward to vist you'll again

We had a wonderful tour in English with Kathy. She adjusted the tour to avoid crowds. We saw the Grotto of Massabielle to see where Bernadette Soubirous witnessed apparitions of Mary. We were given time to take photos, pray, and offer written petitions. She showed us where to come back later to fill bottles. We were shown the Crypt, The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, the underground Basilica, Crown and Rosary Square and the Rosary Basilica. While visiting each place, she explained and answered questions about the Sanctuary’s history and artwork.

Guide is very good at explaining history and is accommodating. She knew a lot of in facts about Lourdes.

Beautiful emotional and moving experience, place of prayer and meditation. Council for those arriving at the airport, instead of taxis, the shuttle very convenient for flight schedules.
