Lourdes, Guided Walking Tour In The Sanctuary

Excellent guide, well defined tour with lots to see. The guide did a wonderful job of both history and explanation. Lourdes was well worth the value of the tour.

Since we were the only ones who booked the tour that day, we ended up with a private tour with Veronica. As a local & born in Lourdes, Veronica was very knowledgeable about it's history. She was personable as well. She even recommended some restaurants where we can eat some local food. It was a very lovely day & we were glad, we had Veronica as guide. She is highly recommended.

He took us to places that an information booth could have let us and gave us no more information other than mass times and showed us where the cathedrals were. I could’ve gotten that from an information booth. He was a bully and pushed people out of the way so that he could take our pictures and he was a bully to other tourists that were in line for a spiritual water experience down by the grotto. It took away from a very spiritual journey, and I felt like I became one of the bullies by being shoved in line. And as we enter the building, he yelled at us. You have to push your way in there. He might be a great tour guide for a place that does not revolve around peacefulness and spirituality and becoming closer to God. He was a very bad example and I had to apologize to the other tourists on his behalf. And then as I was leaving him, he sarcastically said thanks for the tip because I hadn’t given him a tip yet. Not impressed.

It was a very good and thorough explanation of all the important parts of the sanctuary by the very fluent English speaking guide

The tour guide was friendly and personable. I would have had a hard time finding these sites myself. It was a good introduction to Lourdes sanctuary.

Joseph our guide was extremely knowledgeable. He went over and above with our questions, helped with photos. Overall fantastic experience

A good guide but we were under the impression it was an English speaking group only. There was a couple who spoke Spanish so everything needed to be repeated. This prolonged the time spent at each of the main locations.

Veronica was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable but unfortunately although we booked an English speaking tour there was a Spanish couple who needed all the information translating which resulted in us hanging around while the information was given twice. Unfortunate otherwise we would have rated higher. Maybe different languages should be accommodated separately

Joseph with his wit and knowledge guided us through a very extensive tour of the sanctuary. His added commentary, along with helpful hints on times best to arrive for certain events at the sanctuary make all the difference between an average experience and an exceptional one.

Fantastic experience on this tour at Lourdes with Veronic. She was incredibly knowledgeable, a great communicator, good at connecting with the people on the tour. It would have taken many hours reading many books and articles to get as much information as I learned in the two hours with her.

Wished I did the tour the day before

The guide easily found me and helped my husband secure a scooter for purposes of mobility during the tour. Friendly, helpful, and respectful, and knowledgeable.

Veronica was exceptional, informative in architecture, history, current events, and gave us tips on buying local souvenirs and foods.

Veronique was amazing! Very knowledgeable and patient and knows her history! Highly recommend this tour when in Lourdes. Just coming to the sanctuary without background just doesn’t do it justice.

This tour was average. We felt that the tour guide didn’t give us enough information about the surrounding areas or structures and only a basic story about st Bernadette and our lady of Lourdes (info that we basically already knew). We expected a guide with more knowledge and facts about the history of the area. We were dropped off and left by the tour guide for the water gesture and this took up about 30 mins of the 2 hour tour. We were walked to the museum and then left again to read the stories of the 72 miracles independently. When we came back to the area we thought we didn’t even get the stories behind the monuments located in the large open Rosary Esplanade, directly in front of the Rosary Basilica. I would not book this or recommend this tour

The whole experience left me speechless. The tour guide was extremely knowledgable. She was kind, laid back, took beautiful pictures of us, explained every room at the shrine and thanks to her we participated at the procession because we didnt know where to find the schedule. I will for sure book again

I thought this tour was fantastic. We were in a small group of 7 (our English speaking tour party of 3 joined with Spanish speaking tour party of 4) and Veronique could not have been a more fantastic guide. She jumped easily between languages, was so knowledgeable and had lots of top tips for our travel beyond the sanctuary itself. The sanctuary is beautiful, beyond my wildest expectations. I cannot rate this tour highly enough.

Veronica was a wonderful guide. She was able to easily switch between two languages within our group and provided us all with the stories and history of the sanctuary. We appreciated her insight.

We have to drive from Zaragoza, Spain To Lourdes France. But we made it thanks to Josrph our tour guide that made it happen. A very knowledgeable and professional and friendly fellow.

Our guide Veronica was born in Lourdes. Having grown up she has experienced all the wealth of faith in this area. She was very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and gave a thorough view of St Bernadette.

2 star hotels. Closed restaurants closed vandalised hotels, cheap tacky shops selling tat. Shirkankin and Indian cuisine is predominant. Religion and it's beliefs exploited. Simply a dreadful place to visit. Perhaps the wealthy catholic church needs to spend some of its money here.

Guide did not show up. We drove 3 hours to visit the sanctuary. Got to meeting place early. Tried calling contact no answer tried calling guide booking spoke with representative who tried to reach contact with no answer. Then customer got cut off and sent an email saying here is a link to audio. Total scam feeling. Also ruined are day. Booked through trip advisor but subcontracted out.

The guide was lovely, however, we were not able to hear everything clearly because we were not provided microphones as in other groups tours.

We had a wonderful experience with Joseph! He walked at our pace, was informative and thoughtful. Excellent tour and guide for overview and some details of Lourdes and St Bernadette.

Our tour guide, Veronica was very warm, caring and knowledgeable. She let us dictate the pace of the tour. She gave us time to say our prayers and lay candles. Our tour guide was the best. She was a local from Lourdes but she was able to speak in Spanish to us perfectly well. She was patient, thoughtful, kind and knowledgeable throughout the tour. I was traveling with my elder mom. We’ve travelled all over the globe - this tour lady was impressive!! You will not be disappointed. Really made a positive impression in my visit to Lourdes for us. This walking tour was outstanding, and every place we visited was impressive. I have visited this place twice and will undoubtedly return again and again.

It was very unfortunate that at the beginning of the tour I fell sick. I excused myself and went to WC. I got so weak my husband had to come to my assistance. Our dear Aunt, 83 years old, had to leave the tour and come with us to the First Aid. Within 5 mins of the tour we had to cancel the tour guide. She was extremely kind.

Our guide Veronica was very knowledgeable and shared much information about Lourdes. She was extremely patient and very friendly. It was a treat to meet her.

Our tour guide was awesome. I think her name was Victoria or Veronica.. something with a V. She was very knowledgeable and very easy to understand!

Excellent tour and guide Could take good pictures and got tips for our next visit. We learn a lot of interesting facts, it was really worth it!

I think it is one of the great places to visit! It is a holy place and must for Catholics and those who have strong faith to be healed.

The guide made the experience terrible. He was rude and unfriendly. What was supposed to be a 2h tour finished in 90minutes with half the time wasted but him chatting with other people. Absolutely do not recommend him as a guide.

Having a tour guide helps to experience the Lourdes sanctuary much more. This is true especially when the tour guide knows the people coordinating visits. This seemed even so with our tour guide Joseph.

The experience was not as expected, not as much information given that could have been, didn’t really learn much from this experience, and not shown all of the facilities, such as the Basillca and the grotto, also the description of the tour stated “entry included” but the few places we visited had free entry

Veronique was excellent. She provided an excellent discussion of the history and story of this lovely place. You’d be lucky to have her as a guide.

Had some difficulty understanding the tour guide because of his accent. He repeated himself several times during presentation. And he could have been more tactful when he said tourists should not pray too long because we need to stick together.

Veronique was very informative and interesting. It was a hot day so remember sunscreen. It was also quite a long time to be on my feet. I needed a nap afterwards

Our tour guide Joseph was great. We learned about the story of St. Bernadette and all the miracles happened in Lourdes. The church is amazing and feeling blessed to have a prayers and waited for almost 3 hours to get inside just to have a private prayers and miraculous healing blessed water from the fountain & you can drink and bring more to share to the family and friends

Tour was OK the grotto was not included in the tour as I had thought it would be. The guide brought us to the baths this wasn't part of the tour this took from.the tour it ended after an hour and half even though I had paid for 2 hours

Our tour guide, Veronique (sp?) was very experienced and knowledgeable. She introduced us to facts and places we would not have otherwise found on our own. The only surprise was that we had signed up for an English tour which turned out to be a combined English and Spanish tour. Veronique handled this well, but it was occasionally a little awkward since all tour descriptions and Q&A's had to be repeated in each language. However, on the bright side, we got to meet a very nice couple from Spain.

Our guide Veronica was very knowledgeable and knew the area well so as to maximize our experience in a couple of hours. Exactly what we were looking for.

Our tour guide Joseph was amazing. While walking us through the sanctuary he explained the history, talked about Bernadette and what each section of the sanctuary represented. He went above and beyond by offering to take pictures for us and gave us some great tips to navigate Lourdes. He was very knowledgeable and we really felt like we were able to make the most of a day trip to the sanctuary with the information he provided.

Joseph was the most pleasant tour guide. Very informative and compassionate about the history of Bernadette. He provided us with time for prayer at the grotto and prior to the washing with the water of Lourdes. Highly recommend this tour.
