Stayed at Christ Roi last week for a short break. The hotel is in a great location, accessible to the Basilica, restaurants etc. However the room we stayed was clean but dated.Would have loved to have some tea and coffee in our room, a kettle, small fridge, safe. The staff were however friendly and helpful. Rishta on the reception was excellent in her customer service. Each time we needed something she went the extra mile to help us.She was courteous and always served us with a smile. What we lacked in the room, she made up for it.Thank you Rishta for making our stay comfortable and going the extra mile. Also thank you to Ali and Giovanni too.

I went to this hotel in the off-season, and it went well. The staff were nice, and the lobby was very colorful. The room was more than cool, it was perfect! I got a room with two floors, a nice staircase, and two bathrooms. The toilets looked a bit cheap, but the breakfast was good. The location was great , about a 5-minute walk to the cathedral if you’re a fast walker. However, the area around the hotel is a bit boring since it’s surrounded by many buildings. I’d rate it 3 stars instead of 4. But i'm happy with it such a great hotel. 6 June 2026 Update I came back 7 months after my last visit because I had such a great experience the first time. Unfortunately, this visit was not the same. When we checked in, a staff member gave us directions to the wrong floor, which made it difficult to find our room. We were also directed to the wrong elevator. To be fair, it could have been a new employee or maybe a misunderstanding on my part. The room was my biggest disappointment. It was much smaller than the room I had during my previous stay, which even had two floors. The bed sheets were also very uncomfortable. I'm not sure what fabric they were made of, but they felt like polyester or silk instead of cotton + There was no fan or AC, so the room felt like I was spending the night in Mordor.🔥 After a long day, I was looking forward to a good night's sleep, but the bedding made it very difficult. I only managed to get around 3 hours of sleep. In my opinion, one of the main purposes of a hotel is to provide guests with a comfortable place to sleep, and Christ Roi failed to do that this time. I paid the same price as during my previous visit but received a completely different room with fewer amenities. If rooms are charged at the same rate, I believe they should offer similar facilities and comfort. But if you like to sleep in silk or polyester bed sheets instead of cotton you gonna love it but with that hot temperature, silk sheets gonna stick to you.💀 And for your information in my previous visit i got only cotton sheets. Because the rooms do not provide a consistent experience, I am lowering my rating from 4 stars to 2 stars. I am very disappointed because this was a great hotel when I visited 7 months ago, but this stay was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. That said, I still remember the wonderful time I had during my first visit. I'm simply being honest about my experience, and I hope the hotel can improve and return to the standard it had before. 😢😢😢 Im sorry.
Very good price/value ratio. Rooms were clean, bathroom a bit older, but clean. Breakfaat very simple.as a bread just 2 bagueytes, no really choices. Staf polite, helpful. Positive is position. Just 5 mins by walking from sanctuary area.
My experience at this hotel was really disappointing. The room was not cleaned properly, and to make things worse, there were bed bugs on the bed and saw an insect on the carpet. The sheets and pillows didn’t look or feel fresh, and the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned either. On top of that, I could hear the elevator constantly from my room and the TV wasn’t even plugged in when I arrived, so I had to move furniture around just to get it working. The breakfast was also very poor, most of the food was already finished, and the staff didn’t top it up regularly. There were barely any options to choose from, and what was left didn’t look good at all. The good thing is that its near the sanctuary. Overall, this hotel was a big disappointment. I would not recommend staying here.
PROS: The location was quite close to the sanctuary. Additional bedding provided, heater was working and the blinds are blackout. Hand rails in the bathroom. Breakfast was okay, don't expect a continental buffet. Sockets near the bed. CONS: It is DEFINITELY not a 4 star hotel - don't be fooled like we were. The room is very old, smelled mouldy, and with creaking beds and thin walls. You can hear people in the corridor having a conversation when they walk around. We had a room close to the lift, and you can hear the lift when it's being used. There is no kettle in the room to even make a cup of tea after a long day. Our shower looked clean, but you could clearly see hair from previous people stuck to the wall which meant they did not clean it. There was only a dispenser type soap provided (no shampoo, no conditioner, no shower gel). Plus, there was a bidet in the middle of the bathroom which made it unnecessarily very crammed. The toilet and the bathroom/ sink are separate, which means you have to use your dirty hands to open the toilet door before washing them in the bathroom (disgusting). It is more of a bed & breakfast, or a 2 star hotel at most.
