Anderson was an amazing tour guide! He was so knowledgeable, super engaging, kind, and fun! He showed me and my daughter an amazing time and catered his talks to our interests. We would recommend the tour to anyone visiting New Orleans!
This small tour group is the best way to get to know the city. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny
Brian was personable and so knowledgeable. He answered our questions thoroughly and took time to explain stops of particular interest to us. . Everyone in the French Quarter knew him. We felt like celebrities. My husband is blind and Brian was very aware of referencing steps, uneven pavement, etc.
Wonderful French Quarter tour by a native guide. He was very knowledgeable and informative about the history and architecture of the area.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this tour guide!! Andersen made this 2-hour walking tour fly by with humor and really interesting facts about the old history of the French Quarter mixed with pop culture to keep my boys attention. I thoroughly enjoyed how he paid respect to the culture(s) of the past. Would recommend not just the tour, but specifically Anderson if you want to soak up the Quarter like a sponge.
Anderson was super energetic and personalized the tour to our interests. He gave us everything we didn’t know about the French Quarter and was so helpful in answering all of our questions!!! Would go again
Anderson brought great energy. He tailored the tour to what we were interested in, and gave us great recommendations for the rest of our time in New Orleans.
Anderson is a very knowledgeable tour guide. He also make sure that we are safe and complete all the time.
Anderson was amazing and very informative and funny!!😊 I highly recommend this to learn some of the history of this amazing city!
It wasn’t very thorough about the history. Guide should have given more information about the points of interest history and gone to more specific places.
Excellent first day introduction to the French Quarter. Our tour guide was amazing, telling us all about the history of New Orleans, the architecture,, and the sights! So glad we took the tour!
We had a private tour (and unfortunately don’t recall the name of our guide as we took the tour months ago and are finally catching up with our reviews. He is also an actor). We learned a lot, and the stories were great!
The tour was basically a dry history lesson about the 1700s French, Spanish and then the Louisiana Purchase. 20 minutes on the corner of Toulouse Street/Dauphine Streets and then Congo Square. The guide was very knowledgeable about this aspect of history. When I asked about the itinerary shown online, he had no knowledge of that. No 30 minutes of French Quarter, 20 minutes of Bourbon Street, 20 minutes on Royal Street. I had to ask to see the Pharmacy, Cathedral and Market. Would not recommend.
Mr. Falls was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and didn't rush us at all. Our tour went over the two hours that was promised, and that made it all the better. Mr. Falls was a very relaxed, caring and knowledgeable guide. I will never forget this experience
Brian was a great guide, gave us info on history, culture and architecture. He kept his sense of humor on a noisy morning in the quarter with a lot of delivery trucks to contend with. Early tour was great because it was cooler and the sidewalks were not crowded yet.
Brion is the absolute best! He had so much knowledge of this city and the amount of history he threw our way. We walked away from it and could not believe how much this city has given, created and gone thru. Highly recommend this. We had experiences rolled in that weren't even built into the tour like a random homeowner inviting us in to see her courtyard and explain history of the dwelling, ran with a wedding, celebrating in the streets... just the best. Thank you!
If you are a history buff and want to learn about NOLA, this is the tour for you. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you.
We were expecting an hour and a half tour, ending where we began. It was two and a half, and ended a mile from where we began. I don't know our guides name, I don't remember him introducing himself. He was very knowledgeable but the time and ending destination messed up our other plans that day. And we didn't hit some of the spots listed in the description. So ask before your tour starts so you know what you are getting into.
Brian was such an engaging guide around the French Quarter - it was amazing to have that in depth insight from a locals perspective. I learned so much - so many aspects that you simple can’t see without the guidance of a local. This was a super experience.
The walking tour was amazing, and we had a stellar tour guide who was responsible for that experience. Andersen was incredibly knowledgeable about all the places we walked around, as well as the larger historical context behind New Orleans, Louisiana, and in general the history of settling the northern half of the new world. He took us through a substantial portion of the French quarter, all the while keeping up and engaging in a lively conversation about architecture, economics behind different colonization efforts, the current affairs of the city and many other topics. None of this was necessary for a walking tour, and it was clear he had real passion for the subject and didn't come just with some prepared lines and material. We went in expecting a lazy walk around some shops and old building, and received quite the walkthrough of New Orleans history, art, architecture and society. He went into detail whenever we asked him to(which was incredibly frequent) and was incredibly respectful of the material under discussion, pointing out the discrimination faced by many indigenous as well as enslaved peoples, and also highlighted many unsavoury parts of history that I would have expected (and been disappointed if it happened) other tour guides to skip over. Overall, a highly recommended tour, especially if you can get Andersen to do it for you (I doubt the others are shabby either). The booking experience was painless and we will consider doing other tours with the same company as well the next time we're in town.
Anderson was the perfect guide—very knowledgeable and entertaining. He answered all our questions and such a great storyteller. Definitely recommend taking his tour!
Anderson was the guide for my tour - he gave all the history and points of interest - stopped for the iconic photos and even took me to the best place for Pralines. He made recommendations for me for the rest of my NOLA visit based on my personal interests, and he was spot on. The tour was well worth it!
Dane, our tour guy, was amazing. His knowledge made the tour so interesting and worth every minute. Thank you, Dane
Anderson was wonderful. He took time to answer any questions and shared his knowledge of local history in a fun way.
Mikko was the best tour guide we could have asked for. He hit a lot of the landmarks we wanted to see, have great background and his storytelling was on point. Watch for his jokes! They’re quick and timely. Would highly recommend.
Melissa is a great, competent and extremely passionate guide. She showed us around the entire French quarter and gave us a real glimpse of the Big Easy. Definitively recommend!
Melissa was amazing! I can’t recommend this tour enough! I wish I was here longer to do another tour with her! Educational and fun!
Melissa was really amazing!!! She was so informative and gave us some really fun and interesting history of New Orleans. We loved it so much!
Dane was an excellent tour guide! He was an excellent story-teller and made the history interesting, even for our teenagers. He made sure to interact with each person in our group.
Melissa was quite knowledgeable and answered all of our crazy questions. She really gave us a wonderful introduction to New Orleans and its history.
Melissa was amazing! So knowledgeable and fun. Highly recommended! She made the French Quarter come alive.
Sean, the tour guide, was great. Sean was friendly and very informative. We learned a lot about New Orleans history and tradition. We really enjoyed his friendly approach. The tour was a perfect length for people of all ages
Highly recommend! Our guide, Sean was super knowledgeable about the French Quarter history. He answered all our questions, we had a great time!
We enjoyed our walking tour with Sean. He was very knowledgeable and shared both historical facts and contemporary information about the French Quarter and its residents. He started the tour with an inquiry about what interested our group and tailored his remarks as such. He also gave us some helpful dining and music recommendations for later in our visit.
wonderful historical walking to,our guide Sean was personable and informative! We appreciated his indvidualization and recommendations for future actvities and local food!
Johnathon was great. Learned a lot of history. Definitely would recommend, we plan on doing another one with them at some point.
Very much enjoyed our walking tour with our guide, Sean. You can tell he takes pride in his knowledge of NOLA history. Also, with the heat, Sean made sure to find as many shady spots as he could, which I know we all appreciated. Would recommend a tour with Sean!
Very much enjoyed our 'Local's Guide to the French Quarter' walking tour with our guide Sean. Was a great introduction to the city and it's history from someone who's lived there his whole life and clearly had a passion for the place. It really helped our understanding of why the French Quarter looks and feels like it does, it's a unique place, and Unique Tours are a great operator to discover it with. Also appreciated that it was about a million degrees hot, not ideal for a walking tour but Sean took good care of us, ducking and diving from shady spot to shady spot. Thanks Sean!
We thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour! Sean was very knowledgeable and gave us a great overview of the history of the French Quarter and some great recommendations for us to see and do during our visit.
Jonathan did an amazing job! He gave a range of information from history to the present climate. I learned a lot!
Our tour guide, Andersen, was very informative and personable. We thoroughly enjoyed walking and learning about the history of the French Quarter and Jackson Square.
Dane was very engaging, knowledgeable, and personable. Because we were the only two people who had booked a tour that morning, our trip through the French Quarter felt easygoing and intimate. We had a great time learning more about this beautiful and storied place. Thanks, Dane!
We took this tour with Lesly at the start of our week long vacation in NOLA. This was our first time in New Orleans and Leslie took us around the French Quarter explaining the history, pointing out hotpot’s and local favorites. It really was an ideal way to get acquainted with our surroundings. It was clear that Lesly was both passionate and well versed in the local history. Also this was supposed to be a small group tour (you will see massive parade like groups of tours) but as it was off season we had Lesly to ourselves so it turned into an excellent private tour.
This feels-like-family tour is really nice. Our guide Dane was the most friendly guide I had in any tour, showing us the French-Quarter secrets that make you taste a local life. We were a small group (which I think is the way they operate) and he stayed after the tour for quite some time to answer all our questions. I highly recommend the tour.
Theresa was amazing! She has a great personality, she's very fun, engaging and funny!! We loved the tour! We've taken haunted ghost tours all over the country and this one was one of the best by far. If you like ghost tours, then you need to experience this one! New Orleans just adds to the ambience here! 5 stars!
Theron was our guide and he was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about the area and its history and fun
Outstanding tour. Ron, our tour guide was a wealth of information. He was very accommodating and his knowledge about New Orleans is exceptional. Thank you for the great tour.
Randy was such an excellent tour guide! Was very knowledgeable and kept us intrigued. We even went home and watch the Jersey shore ghost tour (lol)
I took a tour with Mike and absolutely loved it. I learned so much about the culture and history of the French district. Mike is a walking encyclopedia and was so knowledgeable. It was just me and one other person so it almost felt like a private tour. 100% recommended especially with Mike. Incredible guy with a ton of stories! Side note, we ended up the tour at Cafe Du Monde and I didn’t realize that it is a cash only establishment. The other woman on the tour gave me $20 to buy beignets and a coffee. While this has nothing to do with the tour, I was touched and thankful for the good people in this world and wanted to recognize that.
