Captain was enthusiastic and energetic from the start. He kept our attention and kept the conversation moving and relevant to where we were. It was a history lesson AND entertaining. We were worried about the walking and we never walked more than 100 yards (often much less) without a stop. FANTASTIC!!

An exciting and spirited history lesson on pirates and the City of New Orleans. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and high energy.

I did a 10am tour with my family and it was a lot of fun. The Captain took us on a rather short route, but had lots of factual information. As a Louisiana native I learned some new things, which is always a bonus. My kids also enjoyed it. There was good weather, but if it’s hot there would be shade in the route. There was nowhere to sit along the way though. Overall great experience.

We visit New Orleans often to immerse in the history and culture (while enjoying the food and drink) and this tour was so fun and interesting. The guide was super charismatic and told the stories in such an engaging way that brings everything together and connects it to where you are. Granted, the tour is a fairly short walk and the pirates couldn't be managing all their affairs right in the center of the quarter so it was a good mix of "this would happen here where you're standing" and "stand here while I tell you what happened elsewhere" which then makes you want to visit those other places. I love history when it's told like this and not all sanitized into dry facts and events. We had no small kids on our tour so we may have gotten a version with more history and gory details, but that pirate dude is ready for literally any question and I can tell he knows how to work an audience with kids.

What stood out most on this French Quarter Historical Tour was the engaging storytelling. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about New Orleans. They shared fascinating stories about the city’s history, architecture, and culture while pointing out details I would have completely missed on my own. The small group size was also a big plus. As we walked through the Quarter, we passed several tours with enormous groups, and it really reinforced that we had made the right choice. Our smaller group made it much easier to hear our guide, ask questions, and enjoy a more relaxed, personal experience without feeling rushed or crowded. The tour gave me a much deeper appreciation for the French Quarter and made the rest of my visit even more meaningful. If you’re looking for a historical tour that feels personal rather than impersonal, I highly recommend this one.

Extremely factual and educational experience hosted by a knowledgeable, entertaining guide. Strolled all through the French Quarter and learned things about Pirates and New Orleans I never knew! Well worth the time and very glad we took the tour. Captain knows what he’s talking about and communicates his knowledge with enthusiasm and humor. Great guide!

The Pirates of the Quarter tour was a super fun way to help understand more of what makes New Orleans so special! The guide is a small business with an extreme passion for the topic. The atmosphere was absolutely infectious! He was super knowledgeable on their history and impact, and his unapologetic love for pirates made all of the information super easy to understand and fun! The tour group size was very intimate, and the length of the visit was perfect for fitting in so many fun facts. Definitely came out with more than enough for what I paid. I would definitely recommend him for people looking to debunk some myths about pirates. I learned so many new and exciting things that I couldn't stop seeing everywhere throughout the rest of my trip!

This experience was even better than we expected! We learned all about the history of New Orleans, as well as pirate related information, all in a way that was fun, entertaining, and educational! The tour guide really knew how to make history come alive, and you could tell he had a real passion for his job.

We did the 430 tour and after watching countless Reels imagine my delight when the guy who does them was our tour guide. Now for whatever reason we were the only two people booked. I thought, well, we're getting a condensed quicky tour. Nope!! He gave his all. Stories I didn't know and some new perspective on ones I did. My only regrets, it was over too fast and I didn't snag a pic. His humour, his knowledge, and his heart are what made the tour extra special. We felt appreciated. The pirate tour was a highlight for us in New Orleans. Our tour guide was informative and entertaining. It was a funny tour where we all learned a lot.

Captain gave us a great tour last week. We were incredibly lucky to be the only two that booked the tour that evening. We had a great time, we learned a lot, and we had the added benefit of walking the historic quarter with a pirate. Everyone should do this tour!!! You won’t see a ghost on a ghost tour, BUT YOU WILL SEE A PIRATE ON A PIRATE TOUR!!!!

I've been on so many tours in New Orleans, but this was particularly good as its focus is pirates and history of them in New Orleans. Our tour guide was super good... and dressed as a pirate.

This was unexpectedly my favorite tour all weekend. Our tour guide was a compelling story teller which makes all the difference when taking a tour. He was extremely flexible and made our raining tour as easy going and fun as possible. We learned so much and its a shame this part of the cities history is being overlooked. They aren't just tour guides they are doing the work of historians. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city.

One of the highlights of our family trip! Our guide made this history lesson fun, fast-paced and kept the attention of our teens for over 90 minutes. He covered so many facets of pirating in the region and tied them in to the larger events occurring at the time. Highly recommended tour!

Tons of fun. Our guide gave us a tale of the pirates as i have never heard before. The story came to life as he described the culture in the early 1800s. We walked where the pirates did and gave a whole new perspective of these colorful characters from history.

We showed up for the tour and the host didn't. The store didn't open till 12 and our scheduled time was 10.

The captain was super knowledgeable and clearly did a lot of research to help debunk some of the pirate myths. He was really engaging and entertaining, and the tour never felt like it dragged at all. He did a great job describing what pirate life was like in New Orleans and kept things light and fun— even the kids were laughing. He also adjusted the stories to keep them kid-friendly and exciting. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun, interactive experience, whether you’re with a small group or a big one.

Remember good walking shoes, not for the amount of walking but the sidewalks are very uneven and torn up.

My husband and I visit New Orleans at least once a year and have done a lot of the standard New Orleans stuff more than once. So, I was thrilled when I ran across the Pirates of the Quarters Tour as it was not something we've done before. We were not disappointed. Our guide, "The Captain" was very knowledgeable and really brought living conditions and politics of the time to life. We did the pub-crawl and were told that the earlier (non pub-crawl) tour had completely different material, so we will likely do that next time we're in town.

FANTASTIC PIRATE HISTORY TOUR!!! The Captain & Claudia were unparalleled hosts and tour guides. I’ve been on SO many history and pirate tours in New Orleans but I’ve never experienced anything like this. The Captain whisked us away on a journey through the centuries, to the swamps & hidden islands of 18th century New Orleans – what an incredible adventure! We were entirely entranced by the stage that was set & explored through The Captain’s pirate adventure – thank you, Captain and Claudia for an outstanding pirate adventure that the entire family enjoyed.

The tour guide kept us in suspense waiting to hear the next story. As a local, I did not know most of the history he shared in his exciting stories. As he told us, the stereotypical pirate was not the actual ones from the past. We were able to envision the past with his stories!

First let me start by saying that The Captain was awesome! He was funny and very informative. You will leave the tour with so much history in mind. We had a great time and would recommend it.

My husband and I were lucky enough to get a tour with “the captain”. We were amazed at his level of knowledge and expertise. He was a consummate showman to boot! Can’t recommend this high enough. The captain really needs to write a book on pirate history in New Orleans! Fantastic!

Incredibly funny delivery on a dark history of the south. Unfortunately we don't remember the gentleman's name we but he was friendly, hilarious, knowledgeable, kind and we couldn't have had a better guide-- despite how filthy a pirate he was. Wish I could remember his name, because we enjoyed every second of his company and delivery of the buffalo, NY gent highly informed on new orleans history. You'll learn stuff you didn't know you didn't know with this tour. Just do it!

We had a great time around New Orleans, we got to learn alot about it’s history and how the pirates where involved. It is really interesting. The tour guide answered all our questions.

My husband and I loved this tour so much. Our tour guide, the captain, provided so much history and interesting facts about pirates. His costume was also great and added to the fun! We learned a lot and enjoyed walking around the French Quarter. I would recommend this tour to anyone. We had kids on our tour and the captain kept the kids engaged while also still making the tour a great time for adults as well.

This was an informative, fun walking tour where pirates roamed. A different historical perspective of NOLA. Brion showed us a fun time as well as a historical tour. Definitely recommend both him and the tour (and kids would not only like this, but maybe even learn something!)
