Part of Go City pass. The boat, tour guide and tour were great. We didn't have the meal option based on bad reviews read about the food and glad I didn't after the female server, pushed down the ice in my drink with a finger, then went I said yes to lemon, picked up with ungloved hand and threw it in 🤢 This is the same hand handling dirty cash. I was so god-smacked I just paid and left the bar! Toilets could have done with a clean and tidy up too. Recommend but watch how out for hygiene practices of staff.

The paddle boat was very nice. The food was yummy and the tour guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and funny. The ride was great. I learned a lot about New Orleans.
It’s fun seeing NOLA from out on the river. We started off with the meal, which was just ok. Food is decent but you’re eating off paper plates with plastic utensils. We couldn’t get a table out on deck so ate in the gloomy dining room. They charge extra for drinks including sodas. There is a narrator reading very fast off a script. I found it interesting but the family was bored. Same with the battlefield visit. We passed by the two other, larger paddle wheel cruises and they looked like more fun. Our day was ruined at the end when we found we had overstayed in the paid parking lot by 20 minutes and our car was booted. Had to pay $150 in ransom to get out.
Delicious food, an entertaining yet emotional narration by Charles, and an overall enjoyable experience on this Paddleboat Cruise.
This was one of the Go City attractions. It’s a paddle steamer that takes about 30-40 minutes to get to the battlefield (one mooring for both locations) and hour there and another 30-40 minutes to get back. It’s a reasonable couple of hours and the guide on board was informative. I didn’t have the meal option and, looking at what was available, I was happy with that decision.
We booked this in a rush; it proved a disappointment and we wouldn’t recommend. It started off badly with an aggressive young lady on shore (with a camera) who wouldn’t allow us to board just showing the email tickets. We had to go to a booth to get a hard copy. But she wasn’t a born diplomat. The older woman at the upstairs bar was also pretty rude (the one downstairs was nicer). But the main problem is it’s advertised as a 2.5 hour cruise and you spend an hour moored at the battlefield site - which you can cover in 10 minutes. So it already feels like a rip off. The guide was reasonably interesting. Overall this represents the worst (Las Vegas) side of New Orleans- designed to extract money from your pocket. Avoid.
Very educational if you like history. Very informative. The speaker and the park ranger spoke loud and clear!
We had the meal with our trip Food was great 👍 The information that was given about New Orleans was very informative It was a awesome time
Good overall experience. Only Issue we has was the the address for the tour start made it difficult to locate with google maps. It would be improved by allowing for more time at the museum.
We had a lovely trip down the Mississippi with perfect weather and not so many people on the trip. We enjoyed the food of which there was plenty. The narration by Charlie was interesting and entertaining and the story of the floods was excellent.
The ride was comfortable. The narrator Charles was excellent. I wish we could have spent more time at the battlefield to make it easier for seniors to get back to the boat on time. Look forward to trying another trip next time.
We booked this tour thinking we would get what was listed-a tour guide on board and two stops at a battlefield with creole brunch food. That’s precisely why I booked it. And the cruise was listed as being 2.5 hrs long for $72 a person which seemed a good deal. Instead we got cold American food; scrambled eggs, thin bacon, hard biscuits. And a “jazz” band that consisted of 4 20’ something guys. The whole cruise lasted one hour. No tour guide and no stop at any battlefields. I requested a refund and they did not approve it. Shady business practice. DO NOT BOOK THIS!!
Dr Lauren was a great historian and storyteller on our cruise to the battlefield! The ride was smooth and we had a great time, Captain and crew were very nice. The only suggestion we have is to limit the time with the park ranger at the battlefield. She was also very knowledgeable but we did not have a lot of time after her speech to explore the site or see everything in the museum. Also, most of what she said repeated Dr Lauren's story.
Good historical overview of New Orleans by Charles. Entertaining and insightful. The stop at the battle grounds was informative. Delicious alcoholic beverages.
The on boarding takes a while. It’s in the sun so be cautious if you have any medical issues. The ramp is steep!! Seating above is limited in the shade and the chairs are hard steel! Don’t come hungry. If at all possible check to see if any large groups are arranged because they take up the majority of seating. Bathrooms are nice. Bars are stocked.
Nice cruise, Charles was very informative, quick visit to Battlefield and back into dock, over 2 hours Didn’t have the lunch so can’t comment, Bar service available , so was nice to sit outside with a drink and just relax and enjoy the views
I love it ! We have a such a good time ! And very Thankful with stuff because we get to the wrong trip so we lose our cruise but the were so nice to accommodate us the same day which was our last day in New Orleans!!! Thank you!!
After four days of hitting the streets visiting the different attractions this boat ride was way to culminate our trip. It was a beautiful day, the staff was very welcoming, friendly and funny especially the photographer I believe his name is Francisco but I could be wrong. Ours tour came with a meal and the bread pudding was really delicious.
A great was to experience jazz and the mighty Mississippi river
Annoying to have to pu paper tickets after putting to download originals.
It was a good excursion. One criticism is that we got our tickets online but when we arrived we had to go to the booth and still get paper tickets. There was no signage to relay the message so we ended up standing in two lines before boarding. The history stories of New Orleans were interesting and informative.
Charles was a great tour guide. He knows his history and how to keep his audience engaged and entertained. Even though it rained during our tour, it was still worth the experience. Definitely book this cruise!
I would not recommend this experience for most people. The boat itself is essentially a 1980s passenger ferry wearing a cheap costume. Admission fee was too high for what you’re getting, even without the food, which every other review will tell you to avoid. We did not get the food and am happy about that choice. Within a few minutes of being aboard, while using the bathroom i noticed one of the toilets was clogged, and upon my exit noticed another passenger, who I believe was having some urgent digestive problems, taking a dump in the urinal. I felt bad for this guy as he would have been able to use the toilet normally had the bathrooms been well tended. The seats outside were all wet, even under the roof so sitting outside wasn’t really an option, it would have been nice if they had dried them at least. Over my partner and I had a good time, but really only because we decided to make it so. Watching all the big shipping vessels was really the best part of the ride. With the help of a marine traffic app we could see all their details, where they were from, where they were going etc. So that was fun, but again not at all part of the experience you pay for. Up shots were interactions with the crew, they were all kind and entertaining and offered some great advice for dinning when we got chatting. If you want to booze cruise with a big crowd maybe on Saturday night this could be fun, but if you’re looking for a relaxing, novel experience on the water, look elsewhere.
Be on time. Cause it leaves on time. Bring umbrella or hat with you because it is hot ! We sat inside in thw airconditioning drinking refreshing fruit punches ! If you like to hear and see about history in a historic beautiful paddleboat, choose this tour.
Nice tour of the river, good lunch, and great history.
second time in New Orleans, second time on the boat, both times have been just as advertised. sound system failed and we missed some commentary but otherwise good
A good short trip down Mississippi. Interesting news from guide, time for walking to the war monument.
We enjoyed this trip. We looked at all different options of cruises: jazz, dinner, brunch, or historic and decided we liked the history behind this one the most. It was very interesting learning about the war/battle.
The narration was very informative especially regarding events of the storm Katrina . The lunch buffet was very tasty.
Mississippi's Final Stands was both good and bad. We took in the movie at the visitor's center and spoke with a very knowledgeable lady, who said she was almost 80, and she dedicated her time to do research. The ladies at the center were very helpful. We then followed a map detailing the trail the men took for the Battle of Brice's Crossroads. When we arrived at the National Cemetery, we were appalled at the condition of the cemetery. It is not well kept, and grass had overtaken the stones. To me this is a disgrace to the men that gave their life for their country.
Great food! Walk to battle field was too long for time permitted for elderly. Nice relaxing time with family ☺️
The cruise was nice and laid back. The band on the cruise was good. The dinner was satisfactory. I would recommend for a date or ladies relaxing event.
I was sold a historic cruise with a stop at the New Orleans battlefield which was to depart at 11am. It turns out there is no historic cruise at 11am. There is a different cruise at 11am which doesn’t stop anywhere. I was mis-sold an experience which is incorrectly advertised and have requested a refund but have not yet had a response from the company.
We had an absolutely fabulous time on the Creole Queen river cruise! We were incredibly lucky to get a buy-one-get-one-free deal by booking directly, which made an already fantastic experience even better. From start to finish, the whole experience was amazing. The staff were brilliant throughout, friendly, welcoming and attentive, and the service was easily 10/10. And then there was the food! The gumbo and jambalaya were some of the best we’ve had since arriving in New Orleans, and the bread pudding was absolutely delicious too. We honestly weren’t expecting the food to be quite as good as it was. One thing that really blew us away, though, was the price of the wine on board. A large glass of Pinot Grigio was just $10! Try getting that anywhere else in the city, it’s practically impossible. It was such a pleasant surprise and made sitting back, enjoying the views and having a drink even better. The historian’s narration was also fantastic. It was genuinely interesting and really informative without ever feeling boring. I won’t spoil any of the surprises, but I learned a lot about the British — and I’m British! 😂 The information about Cat Island was particularly fascinating and really added something extra to the experience. If you choose to do the battlefield tour, there’s plenty to enjoy there too. However, if, like us, you decide not to disembark for the battlefield tour, you can simply stay aboard, relax and tuck into a few more drinks while enjoying the cruise. 🍷 All in all, this cruise is a must-do. Great food, great staff, fantastic views and some really great stories along the way. I honestly couldn’t recommend it more — just do it! You won’t regret it
The riverboat ride was very informative. I wouldn’t waste the money to buy the meal. The food was all hot food. My opinion is it should have been more related the weather and climate. It was over 100 degrees outside. Maybe do sandwiches and salads as an option rather than all hot foods
The trip was fun and the food was good. The narrator was interesting and informative; she kept your attention. The battlefield was fun.
This was an informative activity that allows a visitor to enjoy other activities in the same day. Good drink and food available, and the port call at the Chalmette Battlefield was a nice bonus.
There are a lot of step but they had ways to move you up and down. The view of the land along the Mississippi gaves you a better view of the city
Disappointed to say the least!! The 75 mins. Sightseeing Tour was basically a boat ride up and down the Mississippi River. NO Sightseeing to speak off. On top of that, waited 20 minutes in line (at bar) to buy 2 bottles of water... there should be a separate line for basic purchases (heck, there were plenty of staff standing around doing nothing). Staff was rude and unwelcoming. Because of the disappointment, we cancelled our Jazz Dinner Cruise on their sister boat Natchez.
Good and knowledgeable guide, that saved the whole trip. Food was mediocre at best, drink menu poor. The stop was a total waste of time, not open, replicas rather than real historical things or of no interest (unless you're here to buy more of the same refrigerator magnets).
On what had to be the hottest day in August, we went on the 2pm ride with our 3 grands under the age of 4! We had a great time and our narrator/historian was excellent! I think his name was Charles and he definitely made it worth it!
Great! Brunch was excellent! Waitress/ bar staff top notch! Super friendly and personable, shared many laughs! Views were excellent and seats plentiful, had a great time! Music was excellent!
If you want to learn about the history of New Orleans, this cruise is for you. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
We rode an hour down the river to stop for an hour at a fascinating battle ground. The guide was funny, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history of New Orleans. The boat slowed going by the sugar mill to show the movement of raw sugar to the mill, as well as the merchant marine ship. The rain was refreshing and beautiful. All in all, a spectacular informative cruise.
Wonderful trip! The food was good but the commentator is what truly made the cruise memorable. Staff was friendly, and the stop at the battle field was informative.
A nice tour with a bit of history. A comfortable cruise on the Mississippi. It was nice to have the option to be out on deck or in the main room.
This was a great experience. The staff was nice and the food was great.
We went on the Creole Queen Historic Cruise as a family of 4 and sat outside under some cover from the sun as it was over 100F with the humidity. The length of the tour was around 2.5 hours, which also included a visit to the battlefields. The history of the Battle of New Orleans was really interesting, and being English, was something I wasn’t aware of. It was good to be the bad guy in the story! The staff were all friendly and Doctor Lauren Tarantino was an excellent guide who narrated the battle detail as we floated down the Mississippi.
Very nice cruise down the Mississippi. I would recommend this trip to others! The food was good, and the drinks!
Easy to obtain tickets but no sign at venue that you must get paper ticket as phone ticket is not usable. After you are in line wit your phone ticket. Ride was very short not enough things to see needed more time.
