This was an outstanding experience. Kindrell was an excellent tour host full of amazing knowledge about New Orleans and the surrounding area as we travelled towards the plantation. It definitely lifted the experience. Would highly recommend this tour!

Whitney tells the story of the enslaved people who lived and worked there. It also includes the history of the early owners, the Haydel family.
Laura is a French Creole plantation that was run by four generations of French Creole women.
St. Joseph Plantation was a wedding gift from her father Valcour, who was one of the wealthiest men of his time.
Here you will spend about 3 hours on the plantation grounds exploring a national historic landmark. This historic site is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history its inhabitants left behind. With an emphasis on its time as a working sugarcane plantation, visitors are invited to experience the exhibits, walk under the iconic Allee of Oak Trees, and tour the big house. You will have the opportunity to have lunch at the restaurant or deli. You can spend a few moments in the gift shop, at the bar, or just sit under the many oak trees on the plantation.
To close out the day, you will take a 75-minute ride back to the city on the Bonnet Carre Spillway Bridge overlooking Lake Pontchartrain before heading back to your hotel.

Our driver Kindrell was an amazing tour guide! He was entertaining, funny, and treated us like his “kin”. He gave some great recommendations for food spots in Nola. He also shared informative resources with all of us from the Whitney Plantation to learn more about plantation life for the slaves POV, which everyone should watch. He was on time and the van was roomy and comfortable equipped with televisions for viewing documentaries during the drive. Highly recommend!
Kin was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable, informative, humorous and caring. Oak Ally was a lovely old plantation home full of old world charm.
Kindrel made this an awesome experience. He mentioned a lot of places as we drove past them. Took the time to slow down and even did a turn around so we could get a photo op. The van he drove us it was clean and comfortable. I’m very happy with our experience. His mannerism is wonderful and I would book with him again if we choose to do a similar tour in the future! Thank you for the lovely experience
Our guide, Kindrell, was incredibly professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, and he made the whole experience truly enjoyable. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, and the ride was very smooth. What I especially appreciated was that he didn’t just explain the history of Oak Alley Plantation—he also shared a lot about local life, culture, and food in New Orleans, which made the tour feel much more personal and interesting. He was also very thoughtful and gave us a great list of restaurant recommendations. At the end of the tour, he made sure everyone was safely dropped off at their hotels. Overall, it was a very well-organized and memorable experience. I would definitely book another tour through Viator next time.
K was a brilliant guide. Very attentive, informative and knowledgeable. Gave us plenty of time to explore at our leisure. Would definitely recommend him
I highly recommend this tour, our tour bus driver Kin was very knowledgeable. Along the trip to Oak Alley, Kin kept us informed of every sight or point of interest along the way. . We learned so much about New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Kin is a great tour guide. At Oak Alley plantation our house tour guide was fantastic.
Our guide was great, personable, polite and knowledgeable. The transport was prompt and the vehicle comfortable. The plantation house and gardens are almost as beautiful as on the pictures and the guide at the slave quarters was excellent.
Absolutely stunning view and plantation home. Staff very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely would recommend.
Nice tour driver guide and good experience in oak alley plantation, enough time to visit the building ,learn history about the plantation, good place to take photos .
The tour guide, Kin, was excellent and very patient. My wife and I had a great time
Ken picked us up at our hotel and really started the tour in the bus! So informative and entertaining! Loved the Plantation guided tour as well and of course, we had a mint julep on the bus on our way back;) keeping Ken’s information for the next time we’re in New Orleans!
Can’t rate Kin highly enough, he was engaging, informative and fun. Travelling with 2 teenagers and my parents everyone loved him. We left gift shop items on the bus and Kin arranged to meet me the following day so I could get them. In Scotland we Kin means family and that’s certainly what the tour felt like, being looked after as if you were family.
We booked the Oak Alley Plantation Tour with Kindrell, and even though it was a rainy day, he made the entire experience wonderful from start to finish. The organization was excellent from the get-go. Kindrell texted us the night before to coordinate all the details, then sent another text the morning of the tour letting us know when to be outside the hotel. He picked us up right on time in his van, which was super comfortable for the ride. What really stood out was how knowledgeable Kindrell is about the area. He stopped along the way (in safe, designated spots) so we could take pictures of gators and other wildlife, and he shared photos and history throughout the drive, making the trip itself part of the experience. Once we arrived at the plantation, Kindrell went above and beyond — he walked in with us, explained the layout so we wouldn't get lost, and even pointed out which tour guides to look for so we could make the most of our visit. When the tour ended, he was right there waiting for us, on time, and shared a video with even more history about the plantation. He also sent us a list of restaurant recommendations tailored to everyone in our group afterward, which was such a thoughtful touch. Kindrell makes the tour fun, entertaining, and personal — honestly, it wouldn't have been the same experience without him. We would book with him again without any hesitation. Highly recommend!
Great overall experience. Transportation included a lot of great general New Orleans history, and we got to see a lot of plantations on River Road, even though we only stopped at Oak Alley.
Kindrell was a great tour guide. He gave us a lot interesting information on the way to the plantation. Oak Alley was nice.
The transportation to the valley and back was great 10/10 . As far as oak valley tour it was okay they lacked a lot of details on how the slaves weee treated and their daily responsibilities seems pretty commercial / watered down. DO WHITNEY INSTEAD if you are truly interested in learning or a POC and want to really know your history and get a true experience. The grounds is well kept I would recommend just for the layout visual but for the true nitty gritty nope.
Our guide Kin was great with communicating with us for pick up, very entertaining, with clear commentary, he cared about his job and the visitors taking the tour. He was full of local recommendations whilst at the plantation and back in New Orleans. He was active to show us alligators on the journey and provide us information about Whitney Plantation when leaving to take home with us. We can highly recommend his tours.
Great experience. Kin is funny, engaging, and informative on the drive out to the plantation. And the plantation itself is very interesting. Highly recommend.
Kim was awesome, checking in on his way to pickup and providing a phone charger to borrow as well as keeping us educated and entertained on the long drive. He was very personable, knowledgeable and helpful. I’m not sure this was the most interesting plantation to visit but it was a good one.
Kin was wonderful definitely recommend this tour! I think next time I would pick the Whitney Plantation as I feel Oak Alley was more visually stunning versus what really happened.
Kin was an excellent tour guide. Not only did he give us a lot of information about the plantation, he also provided us with a lot of information about other local attractions and restaurants. The plantation itself was amazing. The facility and grounds were very well maintained. We can't recommend this tour enough.
We booked a tour of oak alley plantation with K’s luxury transportation service. Kendrill Faulk is the owner and also drives the tour vehicle. He picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the plantation, during the drive he shared his knowledge of the plantations and also interesting information on the city of New Orleans. He was so well versed and made the ride so enjoyable. He truly has a wealth of information. He also dropped us off at our hotel . I would encourage anyone who books a plantation tour to book a tour utilizing his service . He provides excellent service!
The tour was ok. Our driver Ken was the Bomb!! He gave us so much good information about several of the plantations and other facts. It was raining like a monsoon and he was especially cautious about concentrating on his driving and being careful. We watched a film while it was raining so hard. If you go on any plantation tours book with Ken. He is a local and knows his stuff!!
Ken is the absolute best, very professional and knowledgeable, answering any and all guestions. I would definitely book with him in the future.
Ken is the whole package! His communication was great the day before our tour and the morning of! It was raining like crazy and my group felt very safe with Ken. Being a native, he is truly proud of his city and culture. Ken is extremely knowledgeable and gave us wonderful information on the drive to Oak Alley plantation. He had our tickets and escorted us off the bus showing us exactly where things would start and how the day would go. Ken made sure we had plenty of time to explore and ask questions. As a travel agent I will always recommend him and any tours and/or transportation services he is willing to provide!!
I enjoy my whole tour . Kin my tour guide was the best and had so much knowledge about the history of New Orleans.
Tour guide at Oak was very quiet and reserved and we could hardly hear him . The most interesting part was when Stephen spoke as we felt like he knew a lot.
Our main house tour guide was monotone, and not very much detail in his information. Watching the other guide, they had a much better presentation.
Kin was a great tour guide! Highly recommend this tour with him as the driver. And Oak Alley is beautiful.
We had a wonderful time and loved all the information you enlightened us with, thanks again.
Kin, our guide was a gem. Very knowledgeable and fun. He told us all about the city on the way out to our destination and had great food recommendations.
Awesome tour and tour guide! He knew what he was talking about. Still want to go to his mom’s house for food.
Kindrell delivered a great experience. Excellent communication beforehand and was able to pick us up from where we were staying. Great personal insights and history during the drive. Would definitely recommend!
Absolutely excellent trip with Kin. Visiting from the UK. Collected from Downtown and received a text the night before confirming time of collection. Very informative throughout the journey and a great personality shining through also, very humorous. Everything went like clockwork and we would definitely recommend this guy to anyone. First class. Thank you Kin, it was indeed a pleasure.
Excellent experience! Kindrell is very knowledgeable, accommodating, & entertaining. The Oak Alley Plantation Tour was nice, but I would like to go back for the Whitney Plantation Tour as it seems to be more focused on sharing the true experience of slaves.
Seating accommodations may be cramped as were on our excursion making the ride uncomfortable in both directions
Kin, the tour guide that drove us around made the experience awesome. When in return again I will make sure I utilize him on our next tour.
Tour guide/driver Kindrell was great. He provided information and fun atmosphere to and from the plantation from New Orleans. We went to Oak Alley. Great for pictures, not so great for historical information during tour. I recommend the Whitney plantation for a deeper dive into experience and slavery. All in all a good trip. Kindrell also hooked up information on best places to eat around new orleans. If I stop through new orleans again I would definetely reach out to K's Luxury and transportation tours. He will hook you up with a great time. Thanks! Jeremy from up north
Kin is an excellent guide. He used the ride to give us info on the history of both New Orleans and the plantations. I highly recommend taking a tour with him.
Our driver was excellent and the plantation was beautiful
Our tour guide, Kindrell was fabulous but Oak Alley is not the first plantation you should see. I would go to Whitney instead it’s more authentic or Laura plantation. Oak Alley was a bit sugarcoated.
Our driverguide Kindrell was absolutely exceptional. From the very first moment, he was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel completely comfortable and well taken care of. His service truly went above and beyond — always helpful, patient, and genuinely focused on making our experience special. You can tell he does his work with passion and heart. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!
Great tour! Kin was very knowledgeable and so kind! He provided a full tour experience on the way to the plantation and back. I would definitely recommend.
The road trip and tour of Oak Alley was so worth the money! It was a wonderful day to see some New Orleans history. Kin was a wonderful tour guide who shared so much information on the way there and back.
Fantastic. Kindrell was an amazing storyteller and guide, telling us all about the area and history. Really nice as a small group, only 10 people. Oak Alley is amazing.
I had a great experience visiting Oak Alley Plantation, and a big part of it was thanks to our driver, Kin. Originally from New Orleans, he shared a lot of knowledge about the city’s history during the drive and gave us excellent recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try. He was truly great and very professional. I highly recommend him! His vehicle was also very comfortable, which made the trip even more enjoyable. As for Oak Alley itself, the visit is interesting for anyone who wants to see the inside of a former slaveholder’s house, as both the mansion and the grounds are very well preserved. The guided tour of the house is paid, but access to the gardens and the former slave quarters is free. If your main interest is learning more about the lives of enslaved people, I would recommend visiting Whitney Plantation instead, as it offers a deeper and more focused perspective on that history.
Its the most beautiful Plantation we have visited! The oak trees are magnificent! We were impressed by the beauty of it! The tour was fantastic, super informative about all the family history and the current state of the Plantation. Super recommended!
K's Luxury Transportation Tours to Oak Alley Plantation was GREAT for the following reasons: 1. KINDRALL (Born, raised in New Orleans, Louisiana): You really get to know the city with the knowledge of a local born and raised here. Kindrall had great info on all sorts of cultural, geopolitical, geography, city quirks, history on our way to the plantation, delivered in a dead pan but humorous tone. 2. HIGHLY ORGANIZED : Kindrall gave organized instructions and was perfectly on time to pick up all guests within the tight French Quarter during rush hour in the morning. He got us all within 30 min-window. He provided instructions and step-by-step of what to expect in the trip, with tips. 3. GREAT PRICE : For the care, organization and tips, the price is great! 4. ADDED AMENITIES IN THE VAN: Well-maintained, clean, comfortable van with power outlets for phone chargers, bottles of water for each guests, a video for the ride back home etc. It was really a great and comfortable ride.
Kindell our driver was great. He gave so much additional information about the wetlands, where to eat, Katrina and touched on other Plantations. Oak Ally was great in general information on the families who owned the house, house construction, trees, sugar crops and the enslaved lives. I will be back to tour Whitney.
