You get to choose which plantation you want visit. The bus goes to both so you can decide at the last moment. Our driver was wonderful and very informative
This tour was outstanding and the best part was Christopher's extensive knowledge and helpful tips. He really made this tour a pleasure!
Brian was amazing. He was very informative and fun and made an 1 hour ride feel like 20 mins. I will absolutely recommend him to family and friends when they visit.
I would recommend anyone visiting New Orleans to take the tour.
The time of the whole trip was longer than expected but we were pleasantly surprised that a stop at Oak Alley's grounds was included for participants to get something to eat, use restrooms, visit the bar and gift shop.
Tour operator very knowledgeable about New Orleans and surrounding area. Oak Alley tour was lovely, and that tour guide was also well informed.
Oak alley is steeped in history! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and a must see. The only downside I would say is that you can’t take pictures inside the house
Great history All lot of history of the plantation and its workings. A lot of history about the plantation and the You learn a lot of history about the people that lived and worked at the plantation
Christopher !!!!!!!!was HANDS down theeeee BEST tour guide/bus driver EVER!!!! He was SO knowledgeable about different areas of Louisiana. I plan on using this company ( CITY TOURS ) again! Chris thank you so much for your GREAT SERVICE AND your wonderful hospitality! Can’t wait to get back and tell all my family n friends about u!
Chris, the driver to Laura and Oak Alley Plantations was so insightful about Louisiana and the Plantations. He was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Great tour and informative. Comfortable ride, pickup from hotel. Both plantations had gift shops and friendly tour guides. Beautiful grounds.
Thr Laura Plantation tour was really good. Our tour guide at the plantation was named Laura was very knowledgeable. christopher art driver and tour guide for the day was super.
The plantation grounds are beautiful. The tour itself is not very informative and deals mainly with the owners, so don't expect indepth history about the era. Our bus driver, Chris, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about the area and surrounding plantations. He made the trip worthwhile.
A bit of walking, Laura plantation has more historical info offered. My friend enjoyed Oak plantation
A great history lesson in a beautiful setting. Wonderful for exploring on your own and with the guide.
Oak Valley tour was great. The guided tour is an 30 minute tour only of the Big House. The slave quarters are self guided.
Amazing tour experience with perfect weather
The grounds are beautiful and our guide for the tour of the house was very knowledgeable about the history of the home and how it got started. Our bus driver to and from the plantation Trish I believe was her name was so nice and even recommended an incredible lunch spot when she dropped us off in the quarter.
Great trip there and back with Trish as our driver. Felt rushed and didn’t get to see the entire property due to time allowance.
Great trip, perfectly fitted into our last half day in NOLA. If we had time would have spent more time on the visit. Big shout out to the driver of our transport to/from our hotel, punctual, friendly warm personality, a great addition!
My third time seeing this tour as we have come with different friends and family and keep coming back. While being a beautiful place everyone should see once it’s a part of history that should never be forgotten. Every-time we come we have a little different experience.
We had a great trip out to and back from the plantation with our driver Trish. She is knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. The drive was half the fun! Marcus was our in house tour guide and he did an amazing job with the history of the house. The house is lovely as are the grounds. I would highly recommend this tour. We also loved the ladies in the gift shop who were fun and offered yummy samples.
Very knowledgable tour guide with lots of history and interesting stories about the families history. Beautiful property and wonderful gift shop!
Morning of tour called twice 1 hour apart then was told they cancelled it . Feel very unsatisfied as had tour booked for 5months would not recommend this company at all . Just hope I get me refund.
It was nice to have transportation to the Oak Alley Plantation. They arrived for pick up on time. It was interesting to hear about plantation life. We enjoyed the samples. The driver did let us stop at the Laura Plantation for a quick view. It was good to see what the area outside of New Orleans is like.
We did the Oak Alley plantation tour from New Orleans. We were picked up from our hotel right on time with Christopher as our designated driver. It was only our party of 3 on the bus. Christopher’s provided commentary through the journey and his knowledge and recommendations were first class. It was an amazing experience to visit Oak Alley and the service and professionalism provided by Christopher enhanced our tour. Highly recommended.
This is by far the worst tour operator service I have ever experienced. I booked this tour weeks in advance, and on the day of the tour I was waiting outside my hotel with no pickup and no communication. Had I not called myself, I would have been left there for hours with no explanation. This level of disorganization is completely unacceptable and shows total disrespect for my time and my money. I did not receive the service I paid for. Additionally, you need to put proper procedures in place to contact clients proactively. Expecting customers to chase you on the day of a booked tour is unprofessional and unacceptable.
The tour guide was funny and has excellent knowledge about New Orleans. He has great recommendations for restaurants around French Quarter and surrounding areas. It was a very enjoyable experience.
The Oak Alley tour is very informative and has a lot of history. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Staff is very friendly. Don't miss the Plantation Store and Restaurant while your there. Also you have to try some of the cocktails.
We received email and text confirmation that the tour was to take place. Even day of tour we got a text verifying the reservation. We waited outside our hotel at 8am. at 8:45 we called to see why we have not been picked up. We were told that the day before the tour operator called in sick and that they could not find anyone else to do the tour, so the tour was cancelled. NO CALL, NO TEXT, NO EMAIL. They claim they left a voicemail, but I never recieved it. AND if it was cancelled why no Text and no email if they confirmed it that way the exact day. We were really ticked off, we had planned the day around that tour. I requested a call back from the owner, was told he would call me and he hung up. OWNER NEVER CALLED. This tour place is clearly a scam.
Trish was friendly, warm, and funny when she picked us up on time at our hotel for the Oak Alley Plantation tour. As she picked up other passengers and drove the 1-hour long trip, she pointed out iconic landmarks and best restaurants. Trish made us feel safe as she drove the tour bus over bridges and country roads, while avoiding alligators (wink). She gave us clear instructions of where to meet the Plantation Tour guide, and even waited patiently when we realized we left something behind at the Cafe at Oak Alley. Trish is the best!
The tour was Amazing, Bob our driver was the best! He was on time and gave us a whole lesson about each question that we had about the city, religion war and culture in general. The Oak Alley Plantation is incredible. Very recommended tour!
We had a good time at Oak Alley, our shuttle driver was a lot of fun on the way there and back (even joked with us because we were told white bus and hers was black so we were highly confused 😂). The tour itself was good, the guide gave a lot of information but it was a little disappointing we couldn't take pictures inside of the plantation. They said its because of the safety of us and the antiques, but ive been to other plantations personally that still allowed and museums that it was just no flash photography. So understandable its their rules, but disappointing nonetheless. Definitely stop into the gift shop and try some of their jams, we took home three jars after trying them! I think if we book this way again, we will go to the Laura instead.
fantastic shuttle driver. super friendly, comfortable bus. tour was interesting and great to see inside an actual plantation. beautiful grounds as seen on some movies.
Our driver was wonderful and helpful. The plantation was beautiful amd our guide had alot of interesting information
The tour of the plantation was very insightful and property was beautiful. Tour guides were knowledgeable and wonderful. The ride there and back was terrible. Little to no A/C and shocks were shot. Considering that you are on the bus for 2 hours, this poor level of comfort is unacceptable.
We enjoyed this tour. They picked us up at our hotel, driver provided information about the city during the ride. The plantation tour was great, very informative and exactly what we wanted.
Magnificent but not enough the Laura plantation is also a must do! The swamp tour attached was very fun and educative.
Well, was the price of admission. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and very engaging. I would highly recommend it
The tour was wonderful. The driver was horrible. Absolutely no people skills and he acted as if everyone was annoying him. There were no signs on the van and he didn’t bother to go get anyone he waited until people timidly approached if that was the tour bus and he hateful snapped at each person that asked…..well what’s ur name? Just no hospitality at all. I only gave the company 3 stars because the plantation tour guide was wonderful otherwise I would have only given one star. Van also could use some shocks he shook and bounced us so roughly.
It is a true history lesson about the enslaved people in New Orleans. Joseph, the tour guide was excellent. I would recommend this tour when you visit New Orleans.
We loved our tour of the Oak Valley Plantation. Breathtaking views of the old oaks and plantation. The self guided tour through the slave quarters was very informative and haunting and will leave a lasting impression. The drive from New Orleans was also scenic and interesting. I agree with other reviews that the bus is a a bit of a rough ride could use some new upgrades. We moved near the front and it was a lot better. Overall for the price I would recommend this tour.
highly recommend Oak alley plantation tour to everyone. they maintain the beautiful landscape and the oak trees are so impressive to look at.
What an amazing tour and so eye opening. The grounds are gorgeous but the history? Oh my!! You must bring the family to understand some of the history. The delicious food is a bonus as well.
I joined the Oak Alley tour. It started at 8am, picked up some tour candidates from the hotels, and arrived at Oak Alley around 9:30am. We had some time for walking around and also the big house tour. We left around 11:30am and dropped us off around 1pm. It was a quick tour, and I still have time for sightseeing that afternoon in Nola. Everything was smooth, and I had a good experience at the plantation.
One of the best tours I have ever done! So much history that hasn’t been taught. I highly recommend this plantation field to history fanatics
Very informative. Grounds were beautiful Would recommend if in the area Driver was very friendly and helpful
I loved my tour. I am a history buff of all cultures. However as an African American this is part of my history therefore part of me. I thoroughly enjoyed it. New Orleans is full of many cultures that show vividly and coexist so well. I love that. 10 stars.
We were very happy visiting Oak Alley. Learned a lot about sugar farming but more importantly about the enslaved workers.
