Elizabeth gave us a great tour of part of the Garden District. She is very knowledgeable and easy to understand.
Great guide, beautiful sights. Great experience. Guide was very knowledgeable.beautiful houses. Highly recommend.
David was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and personable. A good mix of walking and talking!
Dave Robert’s was absolutely hands down awesome. The tour was great with many little facts. Dave took the time and walked us through with great detail. Dave made the entire time very fun.
I enjoyed the history shared from our guide about the neighborhood, homes, and insight about the French Quarter as it relates to this area including the origin of NOLA regarding the colonization by the French. Information about the celebrities that have owned the homes and the movies this area has been featured in was also very interesting.
It was really insightful tour with a knowledgeable guide just a little hard to hear at times. Very thoughtful to provide tourists with fans to cool off!
We had an excellent experience with David. He was very knowledgeable about the area. We truly enjoyed the tour.
Muriel was a very knowledgeable guide, both of the Garden District and New Orleans in general. She was in contact with us prior to the tour about where to meet and did a quick overview of the history of New Orleans before venturing out. She showed us many different homes featuring different architectures, which included a number of homes owned by famous people. The Garden District is a beautiful neighborhood that I highly recommend exploring while visiting New Orleans!
It was great. The people cancel so I was able to get a private tour from Frank!! He was very informative and knowledgeable!! I just wish the cemetery was open but that’s not his fault!
It was not so much a Cemetary tour as it’s closed to the public but a Garden district tour. We should change the name of the tour. But David was amazing and I leaned so much and saw so much history and beauty that I had never seen before.
But the tourguide was just ok. Not for her knowledge, but she was curt. It seems every single interaction was a big favor.
Wonderful tour. Knowledgeable guide who made the tour enjoyable.
We loved our tour of the Garden District and learning about the cemetery as well. Our tour guide, Dave Roberts, was super knowledgeable and gave us so much history and information on the architecture. Highly recommend him and this tour!
The tour guide was fine but not that energetic and seemed scripted. The garden district is beautiful.
This was good for architecture enthusiasts but for the average visitor was not that interesting. The guide was very knowledgeable.
HIGHLY recommend this tour with David. He’s so knowledgeable and has a great teaching style that keeps you engaged and curious throughout the tour. He’s a wealth of knowledge and had a great time learning about the great city of New Orleans
Our guide was very knowledgeable. He took his time and explained the history of the houses. There was no real tour of the cemetery, as we were outside a locked gate, but much I fo was still given. Again, the guide was excellent.
We had a beautiful day in the Garden District. Our tour guide was Randy. He was knowledgeable, and entertaining. I would recommend this tour.
Randy was awesome. So knowledgeable about the city’s history as well as the Garden district. Definitely worth going on the tour.
Randy was absolutely wonderful and gave an excellent tour! Very in depth and engaging, and answered questions very well.
My family of five loved this tour! Randy, our guide, was wonderful, so knowledgable and personable. His presentation style was consistently engaging and even more informative than I expected. Who knew that Irish immigrants to the area eventually adopted Francophone versions of their surnames (i.e. O’Day to Audet). I found that fascinating. His explanation of burial customs in New Orleans was rich and detailed, and he spoke with an insider’s understanding of the city and its customs. After the tour, my husband remarked, “That was more than worth the price after just the first fifteen minutes.” Randy told us about the local opera scene and where to find authentic beignets (made with a sourdough starter). He seemed endlessly knowledgable about local plants, Garden District Architecture, and tidbits from history that were both captivating and true. I highly recommend this tour to anyone eager to discover the magic of the Garden District.
Excellent experience! Our guide, Dave knew so much and went above and beyond to make our tour amazing!! The houses were beautiful and the history was so interesting.
David was a personable and knowledgeable guide. There was a nice pace to the tour including many houses. The cemetery part of the tour is minor compared to the houses.
Loved the long walk through the Garden District, seeing the amazing architecture and hearing the iterative history of the area. David was knowledgeable about the past and present, and a great storyteller!
Really enjoyed this tour. There were only 7 of us in the group . Went at a good pace and the guide was very knowledgeable, lots of time to take photos. Lots of interesting facts learnt about New Olreans, the houses and the people who live there.
Excellent tour. Our guide, David, provided a wealth of information about the Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery. It was an informative, entertaining, fast-paced, two-hour tour. The meeting area was most convenient with restrooms and places to sit while waiting for the tour to begin. Highly recommend.
The whole walk was beautiful! The houses were so nice and our tour guide knew so much information. Would definitely recommend!!
Great tour! David is very knowledgeable and shared facts that you wouldn’t ordinarily get to know. Also, David showed us the different architectures in the Garden District and explained the history behind them.
This was a terrific tour. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the homes and the history of the area. He gladly answered any questions we had. I would encourage anyone going to N. O. to take this tour.
It was great, he was super knowledgeable and articulate. We got to see all the best sights in the Garden District neighborhood. He kept us in the shade and he was a very easy to follow guide.
We had a great time with Dave on our tour of the Garden District. He has lived in New Orleans for a longtime and had many fun stories to tell about the sites we were seeing. Unfortunately, the local cemetery was closed so we had to visit it outside the gate. The houses we saw were beautiful with interesting stories. We could imagine life during their early era.
We took a tour of the Garden Quarter in New Orleans and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! Our guide, Muriel, was extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and shared so many fascinating details that brought the history of the neighborhood to life. The tour was well-organized, engaging, and full of curiosities that we would have never discovered on our own.
We had a wonderful time. Our tour guide frank was amazing! He was very fun to listen to and really made the tour experience fun. This tour was one of our favorite things we did. Highly recommend you do it!!
David was informative, funny and an all around awesome tour guide!! He knows so much about New Orleans and the neighborhood, we learned so much. Definitely recommend!
David was an outstanding guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and fun. Strolling through the Garden District became so much more meaningful as he shared the fascinating stories behind the beautiful historic homes, rather than us simply passing by them. His insights brought the neighborhood to life, adding depth and charm to the experience. We truly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans.
Absolutely amazing tour guide Dave Roberts who went above and beyond, his knowledge of the local and American history was incredible. We met him in the garden district book shop where we sat and he went through some of the things he would talk about on the tour in a cool quiet environment out of the heat. He then took us around the area explaining the history of the houses and who lived there in the past and present . He also told us interesting facts about films that were made there and historical events. The Lafayette Cemetery no.1 was closed for tours and the public but he took us to another cemetery that was open which we wouldn’t have known about had we not taken the tour, this was one of the things my husband really wanted to see. It was just the two of us on the tour and it appeared that you usually had the tour guide to yourself judging by other groups we saw around the area. We got there a little early and walked around which was lovely but without Dave’s knowledge there was no meaning to the district. Thank you David for a wonderful time. The guys from Wales.
Excellent --our guide was very informative and gave us the depth and breadth of NO history, cultural and in every other way
We had an amazing tour through the Garden District with our guide, David. It was an incredibly hot day, and since we were the only two on the tour, David went out of his way to keep us cool and in the shade whenever possible. He made the whole experience feel completely personalized. His knowledge of the area was impressive—he answered every question thoroughly and added great extra details along the way. A fantastic experience, even in the heat!
Ann Elizabeth was savvy and kind. If you want to have a general sense of the Garden District neighborhood and the New Orleans City history, this is a great and fun thing to do. Two thumbs up for the start and finish point!
Wonderful tour!!! Loved learning about the history of the area and seeing the gorgeous homes. Even though the cemetery was closed, we got to see it through the gates and the tour guide gave us interesting information about it.
Our Guide Randy was top Tier and knew all the information. Kept us completely engaged. His knowledge and humor kept us going on a very hott day. And it was soooo worth it. Recommend for everyone to do this tour!!!
While it was hot, June in NOLA, it was a lot of fun and very informative. I loved learning the history behind the wrought iron and Randy was so knowledgeable. It is obvious why he teaches tour guides. You definitely need to wear flat shoes as the sidewalk is extremely uneven and if you aren't used to the heat, go early in the day.
Probably would have given this outing a 4-star review of if wasn’t for the fact our tour guide, David, really outdid himself to make up for the fact we waited :15 on two late arrivals and the bookstore and cafe were both closed for the holiday. He provided a detailed account of the Lafayette Cemetery and the Garden District along with some great insight as to the history of New Orleans. David is definitely a fabulous ambassador and a friendly person with some very interesting facts to share. Worth the money if you need a reason to exercise and/or are interested in history. Don’t expect a creepy tour of the cemetery for the gates are well secured
David was very knowledgeable and the tour moved at a good pace. Start/stop location was convenient. The trip highlighted many historic and pop culture properties. Good commentary on different architectural styles. Recommended.
Amazing walk with lots of beautiful architecture. The guide shared many interesting stories and insightw, it was very easy and pleasant to follow his explanations. Fully recommend!
Delightful guide, perfect amount of walking, great historical information! We loved the beautiful homes.
