Our driver ‘B’ was brilliant, really friendly and accommodating, drove safely, huge shout out to him. The swamp tour itself was great and our captain Dewey was so friendly, such a nice guy, easy to listen to, informative and we had a fab time

Very fun tour and Captain Dewey was an excellent guide! We saw several gators, raccoons, and even bald eagles! Definitely recommend.
We took the boat tour at our friends recommendation, over the air boat. Although that looked like a ton of fun too the boat was much quieter. We had a GREAT time and our tour guide was awesome!!
Dewey was fantastic, fun, funny and very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend. He said if you dont see a gator he will back flip into the water so naturally hoped we wouldn't see a gator lol. Great tour
Captain Ernie was a charming, knowledgeable local, and a pleasure to listen to.
Our guide did an amazing job. We saw several gators along with other wildlife. Birds including eagles in a nest. A racoon family including babies. Many facts and knowledge about the area and the wildlife that lives and thrives there. Including the way the community came together to take care and bring back the number of gators in the area.
Captain Kenny was informative & funny. Tour started on time. Because of the cooler temps, we only saw 2 alligators, which wasn’t the tour’s fault at all. Our captain tried everything he could to make sure we saw some.

Great experience. Tour guide Dewey was great. Very knowledgeable and funny!! Saw gators, lots of different birds, racoon family. Nice to see how much love and respect he has for the animals. Transport was great. Comfortable and easy.
Ernie was great. Knows a ton of history in the area. Funny too.
Captain Ernie was great! So many stories of someone who grew up in the bayou. And knowledgeable about the swamp - flora and fauna. I was so glad I wasn’t on one of those noisy airboats. This was much more pleasant and informative.
Was a great experience. Our tour guide ( I forgot his name) was great. Full of wonderful information about the bayou and life there. He was so informative about the problems they are facing and the urgency in maintaining the swamp before the Gulf of Mexico might engulf it. Highly recommend!
We had a really great time learning about the bayou, marsh and swamp; the history of the area; and seeing some of the wildlife especially alligators!! Our driver was amazing and knew very well the area and its history. My husband and I enjoyed it greatly!!
Awesome swamp tour! Ernie was an awesome tour captain! Well worth it Recommend it
This tour was so much fun! Bob was super funny and informative. He showed us so many gators and even raccoons! If you want to go into the swamps and still keep a reasonable distance from the swamp life then this tour is perfect.
Captain Bobby was really great. Took his time explaining everything and making sure the experience was special!
We were picked up by the bus right at our hotel and we were dropped off at a little shack that had the ticket booth and a souvenir shop (souvenirs, drinks, snacks). At first the boat took us down a waterway in between residences while our (very knowledgeable) captain told us a little about the houses and about the aftermath of the hurricanes (most prominently hurricane Katrina). My wife and I started to think that that was gonna be the tour. But oh boy we were wrong. We headed right into the swamps where we could see alligators that would actually swim up to the boat, the captain steered the boat so that everyone could see them. We saw gorgeous landscapes, many birds and of course many alligators while our captain told us a lot about alligators and the swamps. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting New Orleans!
Captain Ernie blew my expectations. I don’t usually take tours cause it feels…”so touristy”… I was wrong. Captain Ernie was knowledgeable and funny and encouraged questions. He’s an educator and a lover of his homeland. Such a wealth of information! And all delivered in a beautiful setting on a boat!!! Hot Tip: Captain Ernie says it’s best in May if you want to see mating. I was here in October and the late afternoon light was georgeous.
Interesting boat tour of a Bayou near New Orleans connected to Lake Pontchartrain. Had a opportunity to see several alligators close and personal. They feed them marshmallows to attract them to the boats. They are likely habituated to the boats and humans.
Recommend 100%... Everything went as planned and on time from pickup to drop off. Captain Earnie was great! He's very passionate & knowledgeable as a life long resident of the Bayou making him an expert of his beautiful wetlands.
Our bus driver was a very knowledgeable local woman who told us a lot about NOLA but I wish the bus had a microphone because she was hard to hear over noise of the highway. Our swamp tour guide was Captain Ernie. He was also a very knowledgeable local and was able to answer all our questions. He took us through areas slow at first and then faster later and did his best to keep us away from the noisy speed boats. We saw plenty of gators and lots of different birds. He pointed out examples of everything he told us about so we could really get an idea of life on the swamp.
We had a tour guide named Ernie and he was amazing! He was very knowledgeable, funny and easy going. I would recommend him! Everything from the pickup to drop off went smoothly. Me and my family had a great time
The Swamp Tour is very interesting and fun. Unfortunately, the bus pick up to the Swamp Tour wasn't carefully arranged, so we waited a half hour in the bus on the side of the road for another group to join us. The timing wasn't coordinated well. I am a senior and I had to go to the Burger King nearby to use the restroom during the long delay.Although the driver was polite, this situation was very inconvenient and unpleasant.
Really fun. Guide was informative and funny too Knowledgeable Saw alligators and guide explained the habitat to us
This trip was a perfect day excursion from New Orleans. Pick up and drop off for easy with a comfortable bus and a friendly driver. The amount of wildlife we saw on the tour was amazing. Besides the alligators, bird species were amazing. Our guide Dewey was fantastic.
Captain Ernie was amazing! He was both friendly and knowledgeable! Would definitely recommend this tour especially if it was with Captain Ernie 🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊
Did the large boat tour and it was amazing mostly because our guide captain bebop was very knowledgeable and entertained us with great stories, a lot of knowledge about the area and weather and good humor. 10/10 recommend.
This was one of the highlights of our visit to New Orleans. My kids and I loved it. The tour guide was very entertaining!
It's a multi step process with transportation to/from downtown to the site taking about as long as the tour itself. Our van driver shared New Orleans history with us on the way to the site, which was very entertaining- but she (and all the van drivers) should have a microphone!! The tour itself was interesting- the captain was quiet at first, but once he fed the first giant gator we saw (what do experience!), questions & conversation really picked up! Enjoyed the much less noisy ride on a covered boat vs an airboat- but definitely pros and cons to each option.
It was great! Our guide, Ernie, was knowledgeable, engaging and very well educated in the ecosystem as well as the area and the alligator habitat. The time and money spent on this excursion was well worth it.
A wonderful exciting tour , Kenny was funny and entertaining. Keep in mind this is a swamp tour so you may or may not see alligators! We were lucky enough to see three of them!
This tour exceeded my expectations. The pontoon-style tour disturbs the wildlife less and allowed for a great narration. Ernie did a fantastic job educating everyone about the swamp, its residents, and the alligators. The boat was full but not crowded. We had to transfer shuttles - otherwise the included transportation was a good value.
The tour guide was knowledgable, funny, and engaging. He took us to see the local areas and spoke passionately about the area. He had local insider knowledge that made the trip memorable.
The tour was awesome. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He had a great personality.
I think with the smaller airboats you’d to really get into the swamp, and probably you’d see much more wildlife. On our larger boat we were mostly in open water so nothing much felt enveloping. On the other hand, airboats are incredibly noisy, which would be a problem. Our trip was in the afternoon, so there were no birds about. Ali we saw were alligators and raccoons, who seemed trained to respond to marshmallows. Go figure. As for recommendations, I guess yes, as it was nice being out on the water.
This was hands down one of my favorite parts of our New Orleans trip! I wasn’t really sure what to expect going into the swamp tour, but it ended up being such an amazing experience. Our guide was fantastic — funny, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the swamp and the wildlife. We got to see alligators up close, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and learn so much along the way without it ever feeling boring or overly “touristy.” There was just something so cool about being out on the water surrounded by the Louisiana swamp. It was peaceful, exciting, and completely different from anything we normally get to experience. I’m so glad we booked this tour, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans. It gave us some great memories and was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
Absolutely amazing experience! The swamp tour was easily one of the highlights of our trip to New Orleans. From start to finish, everything was organized, fun, and incredibly interesting. Our guide was knowledgeable, funny, and made the entire ride entertaining while teaching us so much about the swamp, wildlife, and Louisiana culture. We saw plenty of alligators up close, along with beautiful scenery and wildlife, and the boat ride itself was such a unique experience. You could tell our guide genuinely loved what he does, which made the tour even better. If you’re visiting New Orleans, I highly recommend making time for this tour. It was exciting, beautiful, educational, and something we’ll definitely remember from our trip. 10/10 — absolutely worth it!
Had the best time celebrating my birthday with a group of 37 on this incredible tour! Captain Ernie was absolutely phenomenal—fun, engaging, knowledgeable, and his accent made the whole experience feel so authentic. We all truly loved every minute of this excursion!
From beginning to end this was amazing seeing videos on social media does not give this experience justice being so close to aligators and raccoons The adventure on the swamps was brilliant. Highly recommend this adventure when in New Orleans.
Seeing the alligators was amazing and the tour guide was knowledgeable. A must-try if you visit New Orleans. Tried the boat ride.
Everyone in charge was very helpful and knew exactly how to make the adventure enjoyable and fun. I can’t wait until I get to come back again on another tour from Viator.
Captain Ernie was a wonderful guide. He is very knowledgeable about the swamp ecosystem and I learned so much about the gators, birds, indigenous vs planted trees, Spanish moss, and the local culture. He also told many interesting and entertaining stories. I highly recommend any tours with Captain Ernie!
Great tour, boat guide was very knowlegable and friendly- saw lots of alligators and wildlife. Coach driver.was also great. Would definitely recommend.
lots of gators and birds. the scenery was awesome. the boat captain was humorous and very informative
Captain Bobby really knows the area and practically has his alligators and raccoons trained! We had a really good time.
We had a little rain but everything was fine. The pontoon was covered and comfortable enough for the tour. Capt. Ernie was quite good and enjoyable. Would recommend!!
Be patient. It took while but we saw about 6 gators and Captain Ernie stopped so we could get good pics and videos.
It was an amazing trip Saw lots gators the tour guide was great was a bit raining Saw lot other wild life
Experience was great. Ernie was a fantastic tour guide. Very knowledgeable & funny. We saw lots of alligators!
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was nice to get out of the city and into nature. It was prettier than I expected and it was so great seeing alligators in their own habitat, as opposed to an alligator attraction. I highly recommend taking this tour!
