Our tour guide Dustin was awesome. Great tour. The round trip transportation made it hassle-free. Highly recommend!

Itinerary
After New Orleans pickups are complete, you'll head out to the Manchac Swamp for your 90-minute tour. Manchac Swamp is approximately 30-45 minutes from downtown New Orleans/French Quarter. As your slow-moving pontoon boat drifts through the waterways, you will learn about Louisiana Wetlands, the inhabitants of the swamp, particularly the life and habits of the American Alligator, as well as the unique history of the Cajun town of Frenier within the Manchac Swamp. Swamp creatures, seeing our boats daily, recognize them as part of their normal environment. Unafraid and responsive to their boat captain's call, they peek out from underbrush and between moss-draped trees and shrubs, frequently coming directly to the boat. In the safety and comfort of the boat, you can actually come within a few feet of jumping alligators.

It is amazing experience, and very on time. The captain is a very funny and help us with the photos and everything on board.
We had a Great trip from pickup with Derek on the bus giving us a ton of information to the boat trip with Captain Barry D providing another additional amount of info it was a fabulous trip.
This was a great experience. We had Thomas as a guide and he was very entertaining, lots of stories to share. It was amazing to see the alligators up so close, also lots of racoons and wild pigs, different birds. It was a hot day but we did sail through shady patches. Wear a hat and sunscreen. This was one of the best things from our trip. Cost was reasonable.
Tour guide was engaging, shared the folklore of the area and played great music.
The best excursion of our lives. Dustin was incredible. It was like a safari! He literally puts his feet in the water and feeds the alligators. You get inches from raccoons. You see will boars. We are from Louisiana and it was still incredible. Jaw dropping the whole time.
Oh my!!!! Go on this tour with DUSTIN!! It was amazing 🤩 I was in shock at how much wildlife we saw- it was like a safari!!
Great tour and guide. We saw a lot of wildlife who were definitely food trained. The craziest part was when the driver fed the crocks from his hand. It was a fun time and I really appreciate that the tour will pick up and drop off at your hotel. The shuttle bus driver was excellent and shared some really great knowledge
We had an amazing afternoon with Dustin. It was raining, but he provided dry seats, comic relief, education and a live wildlife interaction. We were able to get up close to gators, mama and baby boars, and an entire extended family of raccoons. This was one of our favorite adventures on our five-day stay in New Orleans. Our bus transport to the swamp was provided by Byron who was efficient and very helpful. Thank you, Cajun Pride, for a wonderful memory!
We got picked up from Big Joe, he is an excellent tour guide and i loved the tunes on the bus, i just cant remember the Spotify playlist 😆 We arrived for our swap tour and it was great! We got up close with the gators and other wildlife and got to feed the gators. We even got to hold Baby Bruce 🖤 Our captin was very knowledgeable and i loved the haunted extras too
Excellent ! Mum booked this trip and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great Value for money, the Bus Drivers were very knowledgeable, friendly and had a great sense of humour and made the journey to and from the Swamp enjoyable. At the Swamp there is a lovely gift shop and facilities. The Swamp Tour Guide was also very knowledgeable and turned the boat around so that all guests could see the wildlife and take videos and photos. There was a brief feeding of the Alligators so that everyone could see them in their full glory rising from the water to take the food. Aswell as the Gators there is other wildlife to see. I can definately recommend this tour to anyone.
Cajun Pride Swamp Tour with Captain "Bishop". Fantastic sense of humor and knowledge of the area. Though it is the off season for rhe American alligator as well as the day after a tornado watch bringing a chilling wind into the area the captain still knew where to look to not disappoint. Great tour!
We decided to do the swamp tour on the small air boat, we were picked up in New Orleans and taken to the where the boats were and dropped back off. The tour in total was 11.00 am until 2.30 pm which included being picked up the swamp tour and dropped back off in New Orleans. The airboat we had held eight people, nine including the guide. Jay was our driver and guide, he was brilliant telling us history of the hurricanes and how some of the swamp used to be dry land and how his own home was hit. He called the alligators in French we seen one male the first little cove then another male and female baby the next small cove. He fed the alligators with marshmallows and sausage they came to the boat and he actually kissed one. Overall I would definitely recommend this tour.
We had a great experience with Bishop our boat captain. We saw quite a few gators, turtles and raccoons. Bishop was entertaining and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.
Great Tour! It's definitely a must when visiting New Orleans:-) Our Guide Bishop was Great! Lots of Gators and other wildlife.
Fab Swamp Tour with Captain Judy and her funny stories, incl the alligator wrestling one 😁 Amazing to see the Raccoons and wild pigs sooo close to the boat 😊!! CJ's info throughout was entertaining and would defo recommend.
Everything from the bus ride in to the actual tour was fun! It was well organized and each person was super knowledgeable. We were lucky to have a mini bus tour from Big Joe on our way to the swamp then capt tom took over on the boat. Thank you all for making our trip so special!!
My friends & I booked this in January when they said its unlikely we would see any gators. BUT we got lucky. It happened to be a sunny day and we saw so many. In addition to lost of other wildlife. Our captain was informative, funny, and could tell he really enjoyed what he did. It wasn't just memorized information. I would totally do this again!
I searched multiple swamp tours and landed on Cajun pride tours and I am so happy I found it! It’s been a bucket list item of mine to be able to see gators in the swamp and eventually hold a baby gator! Last time I was in New Orleans I was told that no tours have small gators during the winter months but I called this tour group and they said there would most likely be a baby gator on board. Sure enough, everyone was able to get a chance to hold the baby and get a picture with her. We had Captain Allen and he was great, really knowledgeable about the swamp.
We had a great experience with Cajun Pride swamped too! Our bus driver dropped us off early but a friendly employee, faith, told us where to get some lunch nearby. Our boat guide did a wonderful job. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a local perspective about the wildlife here. We got to see the real Louisiana... including the beautiful swamps and misunderstood alligator. The service was friendly and personable, just like they were entertaining friends. I highly recommend this experience.
We took the tour Christmas week Capt Bishop was our host - he was both funny and very knowledgeable - although most of the wildlife was dormant because of the cold we did manage to see some alligators and a raccoon - they did pass around a baby alligator which my son was impressed with - I recommend this tour worth the money 👍
What a day!! COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MORE! We were picked up right on time from our hotel in a nice air conditioned mini bus, and our driver was awesome! Super knowledgeable about the local areas we drove through and was very funny! We went in August 2019 and even though it was hot and muggy out the ride was easy eand cool! when we arrived at the location we got our tickets for the boat and were able to grab a drink before we got on (and bring our drinks with which was nice)! We then started the tour and it was really amazing, we saw SO many animals from hoards of racoons and of course, gators! Our guide stopped lots so we could really enjoy every minute and he fed 2 gators right up next to the boat so we all got amazing photos and videos and got to really enjoy the experience! During the journey he also stopped and took out a baby gator we could all pet and look at which was VERY cool! He was super knowledgeable and funny too! We really had the best time start to finish! Despite the heat, we were fully distracted by how awesome the swamps are and all the wildlife! 10/10 MUST do while in NOLA!!!
Pretty, interesting, and entertaining as hell. The tour guide's super funny. Totally worth a break from NOLA if you've seen a lot of the city already.
Amazing , Capt Bishop superb extremely knowledgable and very entertaining - learned so much about the area, gators, and the environment-
Captain T Tom was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable of the history and made the tour really fun! Great tour! Highly recommend to everyone who visits New Orleans!
Captain Nathan really made our trip fun. Honestly, I had my doubts when only the eyes and part of a tail on an alligator were barely visible from a distance after 15 minutes of hunting. But Nathan's narration of the area and his speeding through the swamps soon made up for the lack of 'gators! The raccoons and wild pigs were amazing! Fun for the whole family!
Captain Tom is amazing! He is a true swamp man! He came off as magical to me. The entire experience was wonderful - from booking, our driver for transportation to the actual tour itself. Definitely recommend doing this tour!
Captain Bishop was great. He was funny and knowledgeable and kept the tour entertaining. Made sure to point out alligators, turtles, raccoons, and any other creature that made an appearance. Made sure everyone could see them. Highly recommend!!
Excellent tour, extremely knowledgeable and entertaining guide/boat captain, and lots of wildlife. Recommended.
Our captain, Danny, was great! He took time to explain about the surroundings and the animals. I also really enjoyed that he made people be quiet on the boat. I couldn't hear over people chatting, so this was particularly helpful for me. We also were able to hold a baby/young alligator. The day we went out was hot, so my only complaint would be that there were no fans around, so it was hot on the boat (when not moving). I really enjoyed this booking and would recommend it.
Long story short: the guide threw marshmallows to the alligators and buckets of corn to the raccoons for the guests to get a good photo. The guide brought a small alligator in a cooler and passed it around for everyone to hold. It was obvious that they disrupt the gorgeous ecosystem like this routinely, as the alligators followed the boat, and the raccoons gathered on the shore waiting for the corn. This is not an ethical wildlife tour. When not making mildly sexist jokes, the guide claimed to love alligators, raise alligators, hold a license for handling alligators. Yet somehow he had no issue with disrupting the wild alligators and passing around a four year old alligator to random people. It (naively) didn't occur to me to check whether the swamp tours interfere with the swamp wildlife before booking for my group. I won't make that mistake again. There's plenty of beauty to see in the bayou while minimizing impact on wildlife, and next time I'll book a tour company with better practices.
This was such a fun tour and we're so glad that we got to experience it! My husband and I booked a normal swamp tour for our second day in NOLA, but I ended up getting really sick and couldn't make it. They were so kind and were able to reschedule our tour for a different day just so we could still experience it! We paid for their shuttle service and was picked up at Rathbone Mansion, which was a 7 minute walk from our AirBnB. Waiting for the driver took awhile as we have to account for picking up other passengers, traffic, etc. We were asked to arrive 5 minutes before the pick up time but to allow a 30-minute window for actual pick up, so just keep that in mind if you book their shuttle. (I would still do it because the swamp area was a little secluded and I'm not sure if we would've been able to call a cab or ride service) From where I lived, the drive was only about half an hour away so it wasn't too bad. The driver doubled as a tour guide on the ride there, explaining the history and "why's" of the sewage system, bayous, longest bridge, and anything that we passed by while driving through the city. When we got to our destination, we waited another half an hour before boarding onto a ship. We had Captain Allen, who was very informative and funny. He took us around the swamp and we got to see alligators, raccoons, and a pelican. In the boat, he also passed around some animal furs, a crawfish with the largest claws he has ever seen, some turtles, and LASTLY... a real life baby alligator!! This was definitely our highlight of the trip. I couldn't believe we were able to hold and touch a real life alligator! I would highly recommend this tour! We paid about $20/person for the shuttle, and $20/person for the tour itself.
Captain Nolan was great. Very nice guy. Answered everyone’s question and was full of “Dad” style jokes. And we got to hold a baby alligator 🐊
Great tour. Worth the money. Captain Nolan was awesome, very knowledgeable and friendly. He’s been doing alligator tours for 22 years. And they work with schools in the area, so we got the opportunity to hold a baby gator.
We loved this boat tour! The guide was super friendly — he spoke a little Cajun French, which made the tour even more fun. Most of it was in English, but we understood very well. We saw lots of alligators, raccoons, and even if we didn’t get a chance to spot any wild pigs, the guide really tried to find some for us. The highlight: holding a baby alligator in our hands – unforgettable! In addition, there were not too many people (we went in October, it was perfect). Everyone was very nice, including the bus driver who picked us up and drove us directly from New Orleans, with a smile and good advice. Frankly, on top of it! An activity not to be missed if you are visiting the region.
