Very Informative tour about the Pests, Plagues & Pandemics, and other Maladies of New Orleans... as well as the historical effects of the French, Spanish and American Interlopers upon the Native Peoples. Certainly would do this again!!!

Dalvin was knowledgeable, witty, entertaining and inclusive. 10/10 no notes
Absolutely fantastic tour and our tour guide Mikko was amazing! He took us around the city for over two hours and showed us places we had never seen before. He is extremely knowledgeable, both about the subject matter of the tour and the city as a whole. The magic garbage can is a must see!
Dane was great! Super knowledgeable, funny, and a great story teller. We learned some cool things and have a new appreciation for NOLAs place in the history of pandemics and plagues!
Dalvin , our tour guide was amazing and made this tour so special. We felt free to ask questions and he gave us a personalized tour and a great experience!
Great guide!! Delvin is very knowledgeable - best tour we took in New Orleans. Thank you for the great experience.
As a public health and history nerd I was very much looking forward to this experience but after taking it I don't think you need to be a nerd to enjoy it! Dalvin is very knowledgeable and engaging. I happened to be the only person signed up that day and he was very kind about it. I learned a lot and had a great time.
Excellent tour. Dane was very knowledgeable and fun to be around. The city itself is remarkably beautiful and strange.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Pestilence, Pandemic and Plaque tour during our recent trip to NOLA! My son has an interest in public health and epidemiology, and this was the tour he was really excited about. Dalvin was our tour guide and he was amazing! Kept us entertained during the whole tour and gave us tons of interesting information about NOLA. This is a great tour, especially if you have any interest in pandemics. I am in the medical field and really enjoyed it!
We did the Plague Tour with Dalvin. He was phenomenal! He knew so much about the history of the area. He was a great communicator that made it so informative and entertaining. He was able to make some pretty dark subject matter accessible. He was funny and engaging. I would 100% come back and do another tour with him. I highly recommend him!
Excellent information from knowledgeable guide. We were fortunate to be only couple on the tour (on a Tuesday), so we could ask any questions. Dalvin was entertaining, as well as informative. Only downside was rain, but tour went on...
Our tour with Dalvin was so educational and super engaging. We all learned something new about science, history, and the city. Highly recommend!
Mikko was great. Lots of historical knowledge and fun side tips. Seems he knows everyone too. We had a fun tour even if it was a scary topic.
Miko took us on a fascinating and informative tour demonstrating the resilience of New Orleans in the face of multiple infectious disease challenges over the centuries. A walk through the French Quarter full of fun facts and historical details.
I was lucky enough to end up with a 1:1 tour experience. It was perfectly paced and informative. I work in outbreak response and love medical history - and I learned a lot of new things! This is a must do tour for my fellow nerds. Mikko showed me a trash can!
Mikko is extremely knowledgeable about the topic and New Orleans in general. Be prepared for a rapier wit and wonderful humor to be a tasty side dish to the info imparted. We saw a good smattering of the French Quarter along the way. While the Pharmaceutical Museum was closed on the day of our tour, don’t pass up this gem. Of all the Viator tours I’ve been on (all over the world), Mikko was by far the best tour guide. And, of course, the view of the in-ground garbage is not to be missed!
Mikko was a fabulous tour guide. He spoke of the city, current and past, the tour topic - Pestilence, Pandemic, and Plague throughout the history of New Orleans and the US, and as we were visiting during Mardi Gras season, a bit about what to enjoy around town. Mikko is a world traveler and it shows. Highly recommend this tour. It is not at all grim and gross but educational.
The tour guide, Mikko, was knowledgeable and charismatic, which made for a wonderful time to learn about the diseases/plagues of New Orleans. The best stop of the tour was definitely the floor trash can. Recommended!
Lots of history and learning with this tour! The tour guide knows his stuff and there are a lot of diseases that made their way through the city.
Mikko showed me a garbage can! Veri interesting character with lots of good stories and very interesting knowledge on the history of plagues in New Orleans
Mico (I can’t remember the spelling?!) was a knowledgeable and funny tour guide! He had us laughing with his story telling! I loved how he included history in with the paranormal stories! We also had a much smaller tour group of about 14ish people than other tour groups we saw which had about 30 people!
Nikko was great! He led a fantastic tour around NOLA, full of unique ghost stories, history, and sightseeing! We really enjoyed it!
Our tour guide, Dalvin, provided an entertaining and insightful tour. His knowledge and love for New Orleans came through during the tour as he was able to point out interesting and obscure details all along the way, in addition to the main points of our tour. He also made sure that we had opportunities to hydrate and rest, essential in the hot and humid weather. It was a nice touch that the tour provided us with waters at the start of our tour.
Intimate tour with so many details. Will never look at railings or toppings in same way. Sad that we still make the same mistakes today. Can’t give enough kudos to my guide.
Tour guide Mikko's "Pestilence, Pandemic, and Plague Tour" was such a fun way to learn about New Orleans history, as well as the fascinating intermingled history of human society and illnesses. Informative, shocking, humorous, and poignant! I especially enjoyed the garbage cans.
Mikko showed us the garbage cans 🐿️ (haha). He was an amazing guide who was not only a teacher but a friend. Highly recommend!!
The host tailored the tour to different people in the group which was nice! It was an enjoyable walk and he was cognizant of things like standing in the shade vs the sun. It wasn’t hot since it’s spring, but if you go in warmer months wear layers and bring water.
Dane did a great job! We had a fun tour learning about the history of New Orleans through its history of death and disease.
Dalvin was very charismatic and full of information. Dalvin knew his topic very well and you could have an intelligent exchange of ideas regarding the topics. I’d love to sign up for all of the tours Dalvin runs.
Great historical tour and coversation!!! Meekos was a very knowledgeable tour guide. He covered everything under the sun.
Awesome tour for the money. Anderson was very knowledgeable with the history of New Orleans. The tour wasn’t too long but recommend you wear comfortable shoes.
Dane was very knowledgeable. He made the tour fascinating and informative. He conveyed his genuine love of history and the impact disease made on shaping the culture of the city from ancient times, through scourges of the colonial period, to the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, to the modern day.
Fascinating tour and an interesting perspective on the history of the city. And Dane was an excellent guide and also had other suggestions on places to eat/other tours to take
Superb two hours. Tour guide Dane was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and helped me to get ‘under the skin’ of New Orleans. I left feeling educated.
Learning about the 8 plagues. Lots of random info about NOLA and the development of medicine. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a good story teller.
We got lucky that no one but my daughter and I showed up so we got a private tour with Dane and his tour apprentice! It was fascinating and exactly what we were looking for! Thank you so much!
So much information, but was unable to hear the speaker. Easily to get lost with the subject. Over all good information.
