Itinerary
Enjoy a grand overview of New Orleans, dubbed ‘The City That Care Forgot,’ on this comprehensive sightseeing coach tour. Start in the world-famous French Quarter, a quaint, mysterious area where the sights and sounds abound.
Head to historic Jackson Square, home of the Cabildo and Presbytere museums, and visit a historical cemetery, one of New Orleans' ‘Cities of the Dead.’ Here, discover the unique above- ground burial system. Marvel at stories of voodoo and piracy on Bayou St John, the waterway used by Jean Lafitte and his band of pirates.
Guests are welcome to explore this historic above ground cemetery and take pictures or they can remain in the bus.
One of the largest urban parks in the country, City Park has golf, tennis and horseback riding. Stop here for photos and beignets (own expense.)
Travel along the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain, past a post-Katrina pumping station, seafood restaurants, marina and a historic lighthouse with the 24 mile long Causeway Bridge in the distance. Although called a lake, Lake Pontchartrain is actually one of the largest brackish estuaries in North America at 630 square miles (1600 km2) fed by fresh water rivers and connected to the Gulf of Mexico.
Continue on to St. Charles Avenue, home to Audubon Park and lined with elegant mansions, churches and schools, including Loyola and Tulane Universities. Follow the route of streetcars and Mardi Gras parades to the Garden District, for a guided stroll through one of the most well-preserved living neighborhoods in the United States.
Home of the St. Charles Streetcar Line and famous for the dozens of mansions that adorn the tree-lined boulevard for much of the uptown section of the boulevard.
View Tulane University and Loyola University across from Audubon Park.
Home to the Audubon Zoo, rated one of the top five zoos in the nation.
End your tour at the original departure point in the heart of the French Quarter. Make sure you check out a riverboat cruise down the Mississippi River with the Steamboat NATCHEZ or Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS!

Great tour! We got to see the highlights of New Orleans. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun to be with! Captured the heart of New Orleans and great history and stories!
Robert was an excellent guide and Alton was an amazing driver. We have been happy to not have a rental car and let someone else navigate the roads for us Robert was not only knowledgeable, but also enthusiastic and entertaining. We are already seeing the city in a new way because of the stories he shared. It was a great way to get oriented on our first day in a new city.
Great tour. Very informative and kept us captivated the whole time. I learned so much history and architecture of the area. I would highly recommend to everyone. A must see!!!
Rustic experience. I think that because of the way traditions were somewhat maintained. It was easy to get a feeling of how things use to be done. I was also impressed by how all the cultures intermingled with all levels of respect. People were friendly and I'd do it again.
We had Harris as our tour guide and he was fantastic. He had so much knowledge of the history I would definitely book this tour again.
Our tour guide Harris was the definition of in depth knowledge about the history of NOLA with a personal connection and commitment to its culture, its arts, its music and food. His love for the city he represents is apparent and no one else can do this tour better than him. We were lucky and forever grateful.
It was a beautiful day and our driver & guide ware awesome! very enjoyable - I would recommend to anyone!
Nice tour, saw lots, great amount at each location, clean bus, great driving and perfect guide. Would do again
Good short day tour. Lots to see, lots of history. Wished we stayed at St. Louis #3 longer. Worth the money, thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
We took this tour the day we arrived, to get a feel for New Orleans. Our guide Katherine was excellent, keeping up her very informative chatter throughout the trip. The bus took us to areas we wouldn’t have made it to on our short trip and it was really interesting. Driver Stacey was also great. Definitely recommend if you’d like to see more of NOLA and learn about its history.
Harris was an Amazing tour guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The fee was fair and our group size was perfect. We had a fun time and learned a lot about the Big Easy!
Very informative. A bit of walking, but most should handle it well. Bus was comfortable, guide was very knowledgeable!
Informative tour around the faux burgs of New Orleans. Stopping at the cemetery was nice and the garden district was lovely. Our tour guide was nice and found shade for us. The air conditioning on the bus was perfect after the short walks in the humidity 🤣
Absolutely fabulous! From our tour guide Clark to the driver, Nick courteous very knowledgeable very engaging would highly recommend to anyone
Unfortunately the tour operator didn't turn up. This was our first day on New Orleans . Very disappointed but the rest of thebtrio was fantastic. Can't recommend it enough.
The guide was very good and very much enjoyed him and the driver was excellent also. Highly recommend to anyone traveling to New Orleans. If you have never been there you need to do a tour as you won't learn all the information on your own. We have found that from tours around US or other countries.
Tour guide Harris was great, really enjoyed tour other than was left behind at City Park, was picked up hald hour later, but then tour cut short in Garden District , never saw Layfette Cemetery #1 or more houses which I was really looking forward too.
Our guide, Harris, was tons of fun and hit all the right spots. Harris had so much historical knowledge, he made it fun and interesting. We would definitely do this trip again!!!
The tour was great. Our tour guide and driver were wonderful. Our guide was a New Orleans native and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend!
We really enjoyed this tour. Susan our tour guide was wonderful, very knowledgeable and provided a lot of interesting information.
We had a wonderful time learning all about New Orleans from our tour guide Harris Parson. He is very knowledgeable and a great storyteller. Our tour bus was very clean and comfortable. Our driver Keisha did a great job. We were able to relax and absorb all the sites and information.
We enjoyed a private tour of Japan (Kanazawa Samurai Saga & Higashi Chaya District Tour) today with Sachiko Nakai (with Kanazawa Tours/Firebird Tours) . She was very knowledgable, professional, and prepared for any questions we had. We also appreciated her timeliness and local knowledge. She had a great attitude and made the day enjoyable.
Great trip really well done. Clarke our guide was excellent as was the driver. Very knowledgeable and the trip actually run over time due to the excellent inputs A brilliant way to see the city and would highly recommend
Work on customer care and callback. I asked for a call back and nobody did call me back. Customer service is why people continue to come back to your business.
After starting the tour, the first 5-10 minutes I thought, oh great, this is boring, but I settled in and Kate our tour guide got going. She was very informative and knowledgeable. She shared all kinds of fun and interesting tidbits on the city, the cemetery and the garden district. So while this would not be considered an "exciting" tour, I enjoyed it very much. Learned a lot about the city of New Orleans and am glad I went. I would highly recommend it for a good all around view of the city
This tour gave a nice overview of New Orleans. It was comprehensive and included history, flora and fauna and culture. We enjoyed seeing the cemetery and there was a stop for coffee and beignets. Delish!! Bus was nice and clean and comfortable
Our tour guide was so knowledgeable ! She made the whole experience awesome, I learned so much and I would do it Again !!
We flew to New Orleans from Florida just to take this tour. We were looking forward to it. We checked in and were asked to go wait by the pick up location. 10 minutes after the tour was to begin we were told that they decided to cancel the trip due to not having enough people reserved. We had been waiting for 25 minutes since we checked in. And they said they made the decisions more then an hour beforehand. But No one had told us. So disappointing :( Not recommended. There were no other tours afterwards so this was a Wasted trip and unfortunately wasted money.
The tour was excellent! Very knowledgeable and enjoyable! we highly recommend this tour and especially with this guide and driver. They were so much fun!!
This was such a fun tour. We learned so much about the city’s history that we had no idea about. The tour guide was really knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely recommend this tour!
Our guide Raymond was very knowledgeable and shared alot of great stories and background to help put things in context for us.
My husband and enjoyed this tour! Dionne was amazing and had so much knowledge and background on everything. She was amazing at answering any questions we had and keeping us entertained with her story telling. Thank you so much for a great experience!!
It was great. Tour guide Robert was so knowledgeable and entertaining. The bus was comfortable. Saw so many interesting parts of New Orleans.
Lesley was wonderful as was our driver (Stacey). Lesley was a wealth of knowledge and you could tell she loved what she was doing and has done for some time. A truly lovely few hours seeing a beautiful place.
We had a wonderful city tour of New Orleans with Gray Line tours in April. We booked it through Viator. Our tour guide, Gail gave us so much information about the history and culture of New Orleans. I was so glad to be on the tour and not self driving because the city is very large and the neighborhoods are so different and spread out. We thoroughly enjoyed the cemetery where Gail explained the burial practices, stopped in the Garden District for an explanation of architecture and also had a potty stop where we could get coffee and beignets. I believe Tiffany was our driver and did a great job at navigating the narrow streets. I would highly recommend This tour.
This was a nicely paced tour with walking stops at St Louis No 3 Cemetery, City Park, and the Garden District. Dionne was an excellent guide providing much background on the history and culture of the city with a delivery that was easy to follow. It would have been good if a little more time had been allowed in the City Park so that we could have viewed a little of the State Sculpture Park as well as enjoying coffee and beignets.

We absolutely loved this tour. Elizabeth knows so much about the area, and Stacey was a great driver. We're so glad we went and highly recommend it.
I bought a trip from Greyline for my Mom and a friend. The trip was scheduled on 4/21/24 @ 10 A.M.. At 9:20 on the 21st., I received an email saying that the trip was cancelled. Mom and friend were already in New Orleans, about a 1 1/2hr. drive from the house. The lady that they talked to was rude. They ended up taking a different trip to a plantation house, this cast an extra $27 per person. I will not be scheduling another trip with Greyline.
Our bus driver Brian and our tour guide were AMAZING! A great combo of a bus ride and walking tour - never a dull moment :) They kept things enthusiastic and interesting the whole tour. We had a stop at the city park for Beignets and shopping and I 100% recommend ~ TASTY!
Our tour guide was engaging, and we learned a lot from him. My family had a wonderful time. The tour covers a lot of ground. I highly recommend that you have folks in your party who have a hard time walking.
Dionne was a great guide. She is very knowledgeable and easily imparts her information. Dionne and her bus driver were so much fun and made the tour very enjoyable
We took the Gray Line city tour. Our tour guide was Lesley and driver was Duane. Lesley was very knowledgeable about the area and was pleasant to listen to. Stops at City Park, Garden District and the cemetery provided nice intervals to move around and see things outside of the bus. We felt like we learned quite a lot about the area. Duane was very skilled in managing the bus through the city.
Magnificent tour around the city, excellent guide (Dionne). But you can’t say the same about the only cemetery we visited, namely St. Louis Cemetery 3. I would have preferred to see the Lafayette, much larger and more important, than the St. Louis 3 which had little or nothing. I would have expected at least St. Louis 1.
I just did in the other section. Kate and Anton were five stars all the way, answered any and all questions, and volunteered lots more!!
Very informative and interesting. Loved Alton and Kate. Thanks for a great day! We saw everything you need to see in New Orleans!
Dionne, our tour guide, was exceptional today! She made the tour so enjoyable and so did our driver Dominique. Dionne gave us loads of information about the history of New Orleans and made it fascinating for us. We travel as a couple with my mother in her 70s and the tour was well adapted for us, a bit of walking but not too much and the opportunity to go and have the famous beignet at Café du Monde in City Park. The stop also includes restrooms. Also loved the cemetery part of the tour. Really recommend this tour! Thank you Dionne and Dominique! From the 2 French ladies and the Brit 😉
So interesting. Was great to see the city tour first. Our guide was amazing and so much fun. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Earley was a fantastic tour guide. I enjoyed the tour immensely, and learned quite a bit as we went.
