Itinerary
Dubbed the “Garden District” for its over the top gardens, this part of New Orleans is noted for breathtaking scenery. Visitors are enthralled by the elegant mansions and picturesque setting that promises a relaxing, memorable experience. Many celebrities live in the Garden District so you’ll never know just who you’ll see out in their yards or walking their dogs. America’s sweetheart Sandra Bullock has a house blocks off St. Charles Avenue. New Orleans native, The Big Lebowski actor John Goodman calls this historic neighborhood home, as well as our very own New Orleans Saint, Drew Brees. Nicolas Cage is seen around as well. We’ll see the homes featured in the novels of Anne Rice and countless films. We’ll take you to see the more famous, or infamous places the residents of the Garden District call home. We’ll tour the oak-lined streets, and you’ll sit feet from some of the most historic mansions in all of America.
The Treme (pronounced “Treh-MAY”; historically Faubourg Tremé) is the birthplace of Jazz. The Treme is the spiritual home of our city. Congo Square in Armstrong Park anchors this historic neighborhood where the streets have more history than some books. The Treme has been a legendary influence of New Orleans culture. So many significant events have taken places on these back streets of Treme.
For hundreds of years, people have found a sense of allure about the French Quarter, and we understand why you’re here. From the comfort of your air-conditioned seat, you’ll take a drive down Decatur Street, one of the most scenic in the area. You'll pass through the famous French Market to Esplanade Avenue as you hear the history of this 300-year-old neighborhood.
No tour in New Orleans would be complete without seeing one of our famed cemeteries. While the dead are six feet under in your town they rise above in ours. Our guides tell the stories that haunt the Crescent City. We’ll show you where some of our most fabled residents call their eternal home. The tour group gets out and takes a walk so you can see up close and personal that New Orleans has a wholly different relationship with our dead than anywhere else in the country.
City Park is one of New Orleans best attractions. A huge, luscious space, City Park is a stunning expanse of sights. 1.5 times larger than New York’s Central Park, City Park hosts the New Orleans Museum of Art, a carousel, and duck ponds, as well as some of New Orleans’ best wildlife. Located in the heart of Mid City, City Park is also where the Voodoo Music Festival is held annually. We’ll take a ride through the winding streets where mossy oaks line the streets, while birds sit on the branches contemplating the day. The 1,300-acre outdoor oasis has enchanted New Orleanians since 1854 and millions annually stroll under the picturesque moss canopies.
Enjoy a break in City Park at Cafe DuMonde and try some cafe au lait and beignets (French donuts) if you need a snack. Restrooms available at this stop.
Being New Orleans natives, this part of the tour really hits home for us. When Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, it devastated our city. We’ve spent over a decade working hard to rebuild and show the world we’re better than ever. VIP New Orleans Bus Tours will show you how far we've come back and what we are doing to make sure this never happens again. Our guides take you to see Musician's Village to see some of the success stories that continue to define the strength of our residents. Too far to walk from the French Quarter, we’ll take you on a ride that only the locals know about. You’ll get a chance to really experience what life in New Orleans can be like.
View one of the largest indoor stadiums in the US. Did you know that the location for the Superdome was originally the Girard Street Cemetery?
Pass by the most famous outdoor market in America. Fresh produce, souvenirs, and other oddities can be found in this magical marketplace.
We’ll take you to see one of the biggest lakes in the country, our very own lake Pontchartrain. Our lake is a body of water so big, the bridge to cross it is bigger than most municipal areas and is even in the Guinness Book of World Records! Here’s a dirty little secret: it’s really not even a lake, it’s a giant estuary, that happens to feed into the Gulf of Mexico, and just so happens to be an easy swim of 630 miles. Lake Pontchartrain is one of the most popular destinations for Louisiana residents in the summer. Boats are out for miles, and countless fishermen troll the waters looking for the catch of the day.

The tour was very informative about the great city of New Orleans. If walking isn’t your strong suit, I recommend this tour.
Derek was a great guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. Fabulous insights into the neighborhoods and festivals. Bus was comfortable and clean and Air conditioned. Would have liked additional stops in addition to cemetery #1 and distillery. Liked mansions and creole colorful houses.Love the iron work on the balconies.
I learned so much about the city. Justin was awesome. I’ll definitely return!
The trip was nice for getting a quick overview of the downtown and surrounding urban neighborhoods. Maybe a little too much time at the cemetery and snack stop at the park. The beignet ran circles around the original location. Very nice excursion overall.
Learned a lot on the bus tour. Good amount of breaks to walk for 15 minutes at city park and a cemetery. Felt like it was perfect for the first day to get a sense of the city and history.
My wife and I were in New Orleans for the first time and took your tour. We were very impressed with the hotel pick up service. Big PLUS! Marcus was very informative and helpful with all the guess and their questions. You could take all this information and plan to go back to places for a more thorough visit. Highly recommend!
This one was great. The guide was very informative and visiting the cemetery during the day allowed us to actually see the graves.
Very informative and witty. Pleasant driver and helpfull. Nice city and garden area tour and clean tour bus.
Pleasant and informative with a very personable tour guide. I've been to NOLA many times over many years but this is the first city tour I took. I never knew probably about half the facts the guide gave us so that was fun. It is well worth it especially for first time visitors. Note- this tour includes a little bit of everything with a stop at a cemetery but not for long. There are other tours that focus on visiting cemeteries if that is what you're looking to do.
Brie was amazing. She had so much knowledge about the history and city. She was hilarious and made the tour enjoyable. I love all the areas she took us to. She had such good stories about each area.

Jared was a great driver and guide. This tour was the best way to see different parts of New Orleans and learn some history about the city. Highly recommend.
Guide was very knowledgeable about the city and the tour hit all of the high points in two hours. He did speak quickly so it was hard to pick up everything he said.
Our tour guide Henry was superb, highly knowlegeable and very funny. Henry gave us a full flavor of the culture, people and many beautiful diverse neighborhoods of NOLA . He tied in many references to the 2005 Katrina disaster and how its people coped and dealt with this difficult period of time. We also made stops for beignets and coffee and for a visit of 1 of the many old unique cemeteries. Highly recommend this tour and its a great way to familiarize yourself to NOLAs beauty and uniqueness
Gave a good overview of NOLA. Our guide was knowledgeable (particularly helpful with construction detours) and with a great sense of humor. We also took his tip for a great restaurant - it was great!
This was the best New Orleans tour I've ever had. Our guide, Chris, was very familiar with the city and easily answered our questions. I loved being able to see Lake Pochitrain and the City Park in addition to the usual French Quarter sites. Also, the option to be picked up at our hotel was a huge bonus. Would definitely recommend this tour.

This tour is a MUST!!! Lee picked us up at a local hotel and took us all over the city. We learned so much. From the culture of the city to Hurricane Katrina. We saw more sites in 2 hours than we could have done on our own. We did several tours and this one was by far my favorite.
Entertaining, educational and great driving. Would recommend again.

Our New Orleans City & Cemetery tour was fantastic! We truly enjoyed the convenience of being picked up from our hotel to take the tour. Marcus made us feel welcome with warm greetings. His knowledge of the city’s history and hidden gems was impressive and he shared stories about local landmarks and events. Marcus also answered all questions patiently, even the most detailed ones and he has a charming sense of humor. The vehicle was clean & comfortable and he made sure everyone was safe and comfortable throughout the trip. We highly recommend Marcus and VIP City Tours to anyone looking for a tour that’s both informative and enjoyable!
