Itinerary
City Park is as magical and unique as the city of New Orleans. The 1,300-acre outdoor oasis has enchanted New Orleanians since 1854, making it one of the nation’s oldest urban parks. Each year, millions of visitors stroll under the same historic oaks and picturesque moss canopies that served as the backdrop for dances, concerts and even gentlemanly duels or “affaires d’honneur” for generations.
Founded in 1865 by the Grand Lodge of the State of Louisiana Free and Accepted Masons, the Masonic Cemetery expresses a character distinct from the Catholic cemeteries that dominate the city. It is known for its many unusual, elaborate tombs, a reputation due in part to the cemetery’s communal nature: members of lodges pooled resources to purchase large group tombs. Occupying two oddly shaped city blocks, the cemetery is triangular in plan, with Conti Street bisecting it. The triangular footprint of the bordering streets overlaid with the cemetery’s angular internal walkways mimics the Masonic emblem of the square and compass. Cast-iron picket fences enclose its two distinct sections, while oak allées line its northern and western edges. Tombs are compactly arranged in rows parallel to Bienville Street, with a wide, paved promenade cutting through the center to provide access to smaller walkways between rows.

Roy was an awesome guide! He was so informative, yet fun & engaging. Kept us on the edge of our seats! He also made us feel protected from the spirits- he has great knowledge he shared w/the group. A must do late nite experience!!
Booked for 11pm tour. Was told to be there at 10:30pm. Got there, waited till 11:35 and tour guide hadn’t showed up to pick us up…ending up leaving and didn’t go on the tour.
What a SPOOKY and UNIQUE experience! We learned so much and had a blast on this trip! I can’t wait to bring my husband back to do this tour and check out their others!
Very passionate about work. Although, it would help to play errie music, rather than modern music. Good tour.
This night tour covers two cemeteries, an older, mostly 19th Century, Masonic graveyard and a very modern (currently being used) burial park. The first cemetery was really interesting with huge stone tombs, leaning gravestones, creepy pathways and such as you would expect. The tour was guided and quite interesting although not especially well researched. However the second cemetery was modern, polished granite with office like stacks of tombs being in use and included coffin trolleys, tombs being prepared for burial and flowers from grieving families which just weird. This was not the gothic tombs from the long dead I was expecting on the tour. I felt it was quite disrespectful and sad. The lights in some buildings were on. Why these were open at night to wander freely I’m not sure but and there were mops and buckets around from the cleaners etc. We were left to walk round unguided for half an hour. So half the tour was great but the second half of the tour was odd, not in a good way.
This was not a tour but merely a noisy bus ride to two cemeteries where we were dropped off to explore on our own followed by a long restroom break at a random restaurant. Zero history/stories shared. Take a different tour! I have been to many good tours in Nola, and this one was a huge disappointment.
Roy was EXCELLENT! He played awesome music, was extremely knowledgeable and had a great attitude. He was somehow able to control a bus full of rowdy drunken tourists and make sure everyone had a fun time. Highly recommend.
We took a taxi to the meeting spot and there was roadwork being done so we got dropped off behind it. Tour guide brought us to the 1st Cemetary and was very unclear about what we were doing. Showed us a few sites……I had a really hard time understanding him. We stopped for a potty break that lasted a LONG time!!!! The last Cemetary was very dark we got off the bus he showed us a grave with a bunch of cockroaches on it….with his flashlight! And then said to go roam around ourselves. It was dark out, my sister doesn’t own a smart phone and my flashlight on my phone wouldn’t work What the HELL!!! Maybe suggest people bring a flashlight or provide them. So basically we just stood by the bus. When he returned he drove us back to the pickup point, which was full of homeless people Henry needs to talk clearer and try giving more info or stories on his tours. That is why I would NOT recommend this tour to anyone I think with a clearer more informative guide this would have been great
This tour was one of our favourites, our driver, I’m sure his name was Roy was exceptional, he made it fun, interactive amongst other passengers and he also made it very spooky with his scary music. He used sage and Florida water on the bus for protection He totally brought this trip to life. We got some great spirit activity in the cemetery. He even had us all singing and dancing on the way home. Superb trip and worth every penny, if you are considering this trip, I would highly recommend it
What experience, bus was full so we had no transportation even tho we booked on 28th.driver said trip was over booked and we could wait around another 2 hours. We ask for a refund. I was told I would receive the refund in 2 days.
The description said there would be narration on the bus and three cemetery visits, but the tour was one cemetery, a stop at a cafe, and a visit to a big tree. There was no narration on the bus, only music. At the cemetery, burial methods were described, but there was no information on historical figures buried. The voodoo religion, and its syncretic New Orleans version were described in a sensationalized way, with some missing/wrong facts. The tour guide was kind, but for the length of time they’d been doing tours, I was surprised they hadn’t done deeper research on topics discussed. My impression was the guide and/or company are catering to low information, inebriated tourists, Do not recommend.
The guide was enthusiastic - however, the experience took us to one cemetery and a fueling tree. It was pretty short. I was a bit disappointed. We walked away saying — that was it? I have done a different one here in New Orleans that was way better. I do not recommend this one.
We have gone on a couple of tours and while the tour guide was great there wasn’t a lot of information about the history of the cemetery or about the paranormal. Also telling us to down load an app to do our investigation didn’t tell us how to use it. I have done others and they were more informative.
Kendall was great! Very informative. It was neat being allowed in a cemetery after dark. I think I even caught something on camera!
This was so fun, interactive and yes you will have activity in the cemetery definitely recommend, and our guide was great
It was so awesome going through the cemetery at night!! I wish I could remember our guides name. He was fantastic
Noisy unable to hear surroundings but did capture something on my camera and am now more of believer
Fun tour! Roy was AWESOME. Very accommodating to the needs of guests while already going above and beyond to ensure guests were protected throughout. Looking for a blend of mystery, history, and comedic relief...request Roy! Would highly recommend a a new way to see Nola.
While our tour guide Kendall was amazing, the tour itself was a let down. While the website advertised visiting multiple cemeteries, we visited only 1. It was explained during the tour you lost the contract with another cemetery. This should have been mentioned prior or when booking as it felt like a bait and switch. We spent about 30 minutes of the 2 hour tour at the cemetery and about 45 minutes in front of a tree by a park. Currently as the tour stands, it’s not worth the money. But again, our guide was really great and did the best he could with what he had to show.
This tour was a lot of fun. Our guide Kendall did an awesome job. Was informative and gave a lot of history. We highly recommend.
It was a great experience our guide was awesome, the tour went a little longer than expected but thats a plus if you ask me
Kendall was our tour guide. He made the tour exciting and shared his own personal experiences with the paranormal. I definitely ended the tour with goosebumps
Roy was an amazing guide! He connected with each person and geared the tour to meet the needs, not just for our family, but the entire bus.
I liked much of the historical information Henry talked about. This is one of tours that will be talked about.
Roy was awesome! He kept thing light, interesting, and was very knowledgeable. Absolute legend! If you have issues with long walks, this is a perfect tour.
Henry was great, knowledgeable, and made the experience memorable. He had a great mix of knowledge in history, culture, and the day-to-day life of the city of New Orleans. Ask for Henry. You won't be disappointed.
The idea sounded great! Cemeteries and paranormal experiences.... the reality was a drunk bus and rambling stories with two underwhelming stops. Not worth it unfortunately
Henry our guide was amazing , very knowledgeable on time and kept us moving. Very very impressed with service and how everything was presented. Thank you Henry from me and my family. Ernesto LB.
For two hours I expected more I guess. We spent the same amount of time at our “restroom” break that we did at the cemetery at night. I felt like we drove around more than we spent time at locations. For two hours I expected more interaction with the sites we would be visiting. Just felt like a waste of time to me. Also if most of the time is spent in the bus driving to “locations” then it should be expressed that way on the website.
its a good tour lots of historic information. and some scary pictures. The sticks were scary watching them move by themselves.
Roy was an amazing guide, his knowledge of Nola’s history and locations. Def recommend it, I was a skeptic and am still not convinced but the tour would be a good time for anyone, even if your just a history buff!
Thank you so much Kendall! We loved our tour and your stories were amazing. My sister actually captured a woman in white at the first cemetery we stopped at.
It was a nice cemetery tour but better to do it during the day. You'll see the graves better. It's not scary since the group is pretty large (around 25 people). The driver/guide was excellent and the place she stopped for a break, had excellent beignets. Not worth doing if you already visited a cemetery during the day.
Great tour guide !! Very patient … learned a lot of information and history about New Orleans. I’m still trying to decide if the paranormal ghost were real or fake 😂
The tour guide got into a screaming match with a local Cafe manager. It was so intense that people got off the bus to try and maintain the separation. People left the tour because the fighting over 10 minutes was too intense. Then the guide proceeded to tell us that he was disrespectfed at the Katrina memorial and on the bus
Roy leader of the blue group, was incredible! Extremely knowledgeable and understands what it means to ghost hunt while respecting the dead. Highly recommended!!
Told to be at bar @10:30 , van didn’t leave until 1130pm. We were waiting around for the driver and it was packed in the bar nowhere to sit. Unfortunately we were in a rush since we started late and didn’t get to experience it fully . Wish we had a redo 😞
Maybe I misread the description and picked the wrong tour, but I was deeply disappointed. Our guide, Rob, had deep knowledge of the first cemetery but there were zero references to anything paranormal, ghosts, etc. At the second cemetery, he spent a lot of time on the masoleums and then said that there was a woman and child that liked to talk to guests, handed out the tools—and turned us loose—no backstory of the woman, etc.
The tour guide was great, but the tour itself didn't neet expectations. We went to one memorial and one graveyard. We pretty much just walked around. There was no real investigating.
Roy was super! He created quite the experience between his fun ghost stories, eerie music, and genuine interest in finding ghosts. He created community on our bus and everyone was laughing, chatting, and having a good time.
Love kendell! He told the best stories! Also loved the beignets from morning call that he took us to..they were so much better then any other place we had..
Roy was incredible! I loved this tour. The group had a ton of fun learning a little history and we definitely captured some ghostly photos and had eerie experiences.
The worst tour I’ve ever been on. Extremely boring, long winded and distracted rambling is the best description of our guide. After 10 minutes at the grave, my group decided to just leave. Zero stars.
This was a great tour! Henry was very knowledgeable and interesting! He made the tour excellent! My husband and I would go on this tour again! Hats off to you Ghost Rider Tours!
Kendall was excited to share his experiences. We were a little disappointed there were only two cemeteries, but both were interesting. The nearly full moon made the tour more eerie. The people on our tour who were drinking alcohol probably enjoyed the tour much more than I did!
Fun tour and Henry was great. He was extremely knowledgeable and the cemeteries were super cool. I wish we’d gone into more than two cemeteries instead of driving past them, but good tour otherwise.
Henry was so fun and informative on his city. He was full of knowledge and added a fun vibe for our tour. My son(17) thoroughly enjoyed it and that was my hope.
Trish was our guide, she wad amazing! She was funny and answered all questions, she gave us the rules straight up from the get go and was just extremely informative! We all just enjoyed this tour so much!
Great tour! our tour guide was amazing and kepted us laughing through the whole tour. Also taught us the history of new orleans funerals. Also told us of his own personal Katrina story, that made everyone really understand the impact on most of the people of New orleans in the 9th ward.
