I can’t recommend this tour enough. Adelai was an amazing, respectful, and fun guide with such command of the subject. My friend and I were so impressed with the tour and had an amazing time. 10/10 would recommend. We also went on a Ghost of New Orleans tour with Evian through New Orleans Secrets and had an amazing time (10/10 as well). He was equally as researched and lovely. I will 100% be booking with this group again when I visit. So fun and informative!

My wife and I went on the Voodoo Tour with Evian, and it was really incredible. Specific, complex, decolonized history that opened up the city for us. Evian was a fantastic tour guide. We enjoyed every moment, highly recommend.
This was our second tour with Anderson in 2 days; he is a fun and knowledgeable guide. We really enjoyed the voodoo tour. We learned so much. We were surprised to learn that the religion of voodoo is very different than what is depicted in books and movies. I highly recommend this tour and Anderson as a guide. He exceeded our expectations.
We had an excellent tour with Adelaide! She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and entertaining as a guide. I felt like she would know the answer to any question we asked! I would highly recommend this for anyone interested in the religious history of New Orleans.
Knowledgeable guide. Great history and not sensationalized. Loved the information and engaging guide.
I am not easy offended or part of any religious sect but I do believe in showing respect towards people who are religious. Yes, the tour guide (young woman, cannot remember her name) was extremely educated about the topic of voodoo but even I was shocked at how disrespectful she was towards the Catholic religion. I could tell some of the couples were uncomfortable and unsure what to do, not us - we just left.
Went on the Voodoo tour with Adelai as our guide. They were incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and thorough. If Adelai said “we’ll get to [insert topic]”, we did! Adelai’s way of providing all of this new info was easy to process and connect topics. Literally the best walking tour I’ve been on. If you like learning about history and culture in a fun way (while being open and respectful), you will thoroughly enjoy this tour. We will be trying out more tours by this company! THANK YOU for this experience and sharing your knowledge and city’s culture 😊
Fantastic Tour Experience with Adelai. We did the food tour, the cocktail tour, the paranormal tour and the voodoo tour. Adelai is very versed in these subjects and had levels of access that were phenomenal. We do tours whenever we travel and these were by far the best we have experienced.
We loved it. We loved all parts of the tour. It completely changed (and corrected) our understanding of Voodoo. Nothing to do with whatever we see on hollywood movies. I really recommend it. We understood also that Voodoo history here is basically New Orleans history. So by taking this tour you get a tour about the city's history.
Excellent tour and guide! Andersen guided our family of 5 (2 grandparents and 3 grandsons ages 18, 17, and 17) through the streets of New Orleans pointing out landmarks as he gave us the history of New Orleans as it relates to the beginnings of Voodoo in this country, why and how it happened, how it relates to the established Catholic religion, who participated in it, and how it evolved over the years. Fascinating history and culture. On our walk we stopped at an authentic Voodoo store where Andersen showed us some artifacts and related them to what we had learned. Andersen was an energetic, knowledgable, friendly, thoughtful person with a wonderful sense of humor who encouraged our questions and comments. We highly recommend this tour!
This was our third tour with this company. It was a great finish after the food and history tours. Our guide, Anderson, was enthusiastic and passionate about the subject and did a great job describing the practice and how it developed in New Orleans! The Voodoo Authentica stop is a must see and best to do it after you learn about the practice.
Anderson was absolutely amazing as a guide and person. He was very into the subject matter, and was clearly very emotional about the slavery history of Louisiana. This tour was fascinating because he walks you through the whole history of Voodoo from the moment the slaves are together on the ship to the recent history. It’s highly educational and emotional and he was a fantastic storyteller and brought the history to life with feeling and personality.
What a great way to spend a couple of hours, seeing bits of the French Quarter you might otherwise miss and hearing some educational stories along the way....all thru the lens of voodoo. Good pace, great content, and really brilliant guide (Sean).
Great tour, the history of the city and Voodoo was really interesting! Learnt about the different influences that have made modern Voodoo in New Orleans. Highly recommend!
I was looking for a culturally appropriate voodoo tour, that wasn’t problematic and sensationalist. New Orleans Secret Tours did not disappoint! Evian was incredible. They intelligently and engagingly navigated the history of voodoo, the culture and practices, and much more. It was really good and I highly recommend it.
Our tour group was small which made it easier to hear the guide. Our guide was Evian (spelled like the water but pronounced differently) and they were very well informed. We met at American Townhouse Restaurant & Bar and then walked to Congo Square and through the French Quarter, stopping at various sites. The tour was about New Orleans vodou and it helped dispel any falsehoods about the practice - voodoo dolls are not part of the practice, just something for the tourists, etc.
A great way to learn a lot about New Orleans and Voodoo. We had a great guide who walked with us through the city for two hours.
