Tour was interactive, interesting. The tour guide I believe his name was Charles was great! He told us if the tour was bad go call him James, but he was over the top and entertaining and of course very knowledgeable of the history and lore and spoke about stories at appropriate times.

A lovely site but the devil is in the details. Our room had only a tub with a hand shower and low ceiling: not comfortable for seniors. Wifi was weak. Complimentary breakfast was of inferior quality: packaged, processed muffins and fake croissants-- shockingly poor for a place that brands itself as a top hotel. Not worth the expense!
The grounds and exterior are beautiful. The ghost tour was filled with some history and a lot of urban legends. I’ve wanted to come here ever since reading about The Myrtles in Southern Living. Recommend reading up on the actual history and watching some documentaries for the true history behind the plantation and the hauntings, but definitely worth taking the tour and highly recommend coming in October.
Loved this tour! Much better than just taking the day tour. Whether you believe or not it added a mystery element to the experience.
We had an excellent time. Small group, we had one other couple with us. The guide was knowledgeable , and speculating on his storytelling, spent some time doing some drama. This had been on my bucket list for a long time, since seeing it on "Most Terrifying Places in America." I'm not a huge supernatural believer, but I go on haunted & crime tours, because I love the stories and the history.
We had an excellent experience touring the Myrtles Plantation. Our tour guide was very friendly & knowledgeable. We had a few interesting occurrences with lights flickering and feeling a touch on the leg in the ladies parlour.
This is a must see! The history behind this plantation is amazing! The grounds are so beautiful! Stay the night if you dare!
The best tour guide in M! All first hand accounts. I smelled Sarah’s perfume In the Parlor. I saw another person’s picture of a spirit in real time. I saw Kate open the cabinet door multiple times! It’s all real!
If you get a chance GO. It was awesome. Very informative. Learned a lot about the history. For sure will be going back.
This was an amazing tour. I wish we would have gotten a room, but didnt. The Turkey, Ivan was so cool. They had ducks and goats. They also had turtles under the bridge. I hated we couldnt tour the upstairs where all the rooms were, but we loved it the same.
We arrived about 2:45 pm and were able to purchase tickets for a guided tour but added to a bus group just starting. It was unfortunately too large of a group to fit into most of the home portion and it felt a bit rushed but the guide was very knowledgeable The bus was departing at 4:15, so we were able to view the other structures on our own without rushing. Worth the price!
It was fun. The tour guide was very nice and knew her lines well. I say knew her lines since every word out of her mouth was historically false. The whole story of Cloe never happened something any good student of history knows. Even the murder which was true was mostly false since the walk up the stairs never happened. I guess the real history of the house, which is Gruesome enough. Is not raciest enough so they had to make up a story about a murderous black woman, But as I said it was fun for the fiction it was.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Myrtles Bed and Breakfast! The property is stunning, with beautiful grounds and a charming atmosphere. The bar and restaurant are top-notch, offering delicious food and drinks that truly elevated our experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always going above and beyond to meet our requests. It was truly one of the best weekends we’ve ever had, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend
Our guide was very knowledgeable and outgoing! She captivated us from the beginning and held out attention throughout. After the tour, I really expected something spooky since we were staying here. Definitely would do again! The mirror was very interesting
It was the perfect different something to do for my 40th birthday without any preconceived notions or pressures.with people I love
I've done this tour many times over the years, it never disappoints. Always educational, entertaining and spooky at night
Really amazing place and our tour guide was really engaging, made it more interesting for sure. One of our photos may have even turned up a ghost!
Beautiful place. Great history and storytelling. Good food. Wonderful evening ghost tour. Loved the story about how National Geographic took the haunted mirror and cleaned it while trying to debunk the haunted claims but same stains came back to the mirror!!!
My son absolutely loves the Paranormal. So for his birthday my mother and I brought him to the Myrtle Plantation. We stayed in the Coco house, which was absolutely lovely. We enjoyed the haunted tour, our complimentary breakfast, (of course, we also ordered off the menu and it was absolutely delicious) walking the grounds, and sitting in the center of the pond. Would definitely do this again.
The guide Charles was great and very knowledgeable. It was a fun tour and a great way to spend a Sunday evening. It ended up being an hour and 1/2. We would have loved to tour the grounds after but it was raining, it is a beautiful place.
Our tour guide was excellent! I was disappointed that the ghosts were not mentioned. Have we gotten a bit too woke?
This was our second visit to the Myrtle’s. This time we stayed in the Bradford Suite in the Plantation. Wow! What a fabulous beautiful suite, steeped in history and tradition. Not to mention the many ghost stories and Sprit encounters. The accommodations are exquisite and the service was spectacular. The employees love their jobs and are eager to expound upon many of the experiences that they have heard about or experienced themselves. A big thank you to Erin, who was our waitress for one breakfasts, but she also is a tour guide. She was so informative and interesting that we stayed for over an hour hearing her stories. She was a really excited employee who really enjoys and lives her job. Fantastic 3 day stay. We are planning to visit again soon! Unfortunately, we didn’t meet any of the Spirits. There is always next year!
This was a day trip for myself, daughter, son in law and grandsons. Perfect for all ages. The boys explored the grounds while the adults explored more slowly. My oldest grandson is very interested in history and loved every second Our tour guide for the night tour, Charles, was great and answered the millions of questions my grandson had for him. Charles really engaged all ages and made the experience even better than expected.
We loved this tour!!! The grounds were beautiful and the tour was awesome! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we were able to get a a couple of ghost pictures and one of our kids was poked in the stomach. Overall, we had a great time!! However, our children (ages 9-11) were ready to leave! They were too spooked! Highly recommend!
Me and my family absolutely enjoy this tour! Our tour guide Charles was very knowledgeable and kept us all engaged! It was really cool learning about the history of the plantation as well as the interesting occurrences that happen during the tours! I experienced a few different moments of sadness, including getting teary eyed, a bad migraine, and my left ear began hurting in the seance room. I feel the ear pain can be connected to the Chloe ghost story as her ear was severed. I’m sensitive to different energies so it’s entirely possible she was with us on the tour! I highly suggest doing the evening tour as it makes it creepier!
The visit was amazing, but was rather surprised that we didn’t get to explore all the rooms as they are rented out as hotel rooms upstairs.
Tour was awesome. Lauren our tour guide was amazing. Really made the stories interesting. Absolutely beautiful grounds
Charles was a great tour guide, taking time to answer questions and allow guest extra time in the rooms to take photos. The Mystery Tour was the best choice for the Myrtles, a spooky dimly/candle-lit tour full of historical stories and spooky lore. Our family really enjoyed it. Prior to our visit, we did not know much about the plantation, nor did we know you could STAY!! We'll definitely be back for an over-night visit (probably not in the doll room, lol) and a nice dinner at the restaurant on site. As for our "experience" I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but we definitely had some super-natural encounters. Really looking forward to returning and doing another tour with Charles.
Always love The Myrtles. We stayed in one of the cabins. It was quiet and not really any ghostly experiences this trip but any stay there is worth the drive!
I saw the Myrtles featured on Unsolved Mysteries as a child. I knew I wanted visit one day and I finally had the chance. It was a fantastic experience, our tour guide, can't remember his name but it was a young guy, maybe mid 20s. He was very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions. I would go there again happily. Would love to stay the night, as well.
We had the best time. Rainy was an incredible tour guide. We were definitely spooked. We can’t wait to make it home to go through all of our pictures. We loved her stories. It was creepy in the best way. Rainy deserves a raise. Just saying. Thanks for having us! We will definitely be back.
Very beautiful Plantation, Very beautiful grounds. enjoyed the history. and even though I didn't experience any paranormal activity myself I am convinced by some evidence that was shown by our guide. I wish that I had planed to stay the night. We talked to some people who did spend the night and they mentioned that it was very spooky. With or without the ghost it was well worth the trip. I will probably visit again.
I absolutely loved this tour. I highly recommend it. It was so interesting learning about the history of the plantation while being able to do a little ghost hunting as well. I really loved it!
This was a great tour of a beautiful plantation home. The group was smaller which felt more personal. The information told by the guide was so interesting.
The house has a pretty bland history compared to some, but the guide was really enthusiastic in her presentation, and added some humor. We took a friend visiting from Atlanta. The property is beautiful and the home is a transport back in time - but with the benefit of air conditioning.
Our tour guide was so informative and entertaining. We really enjoyed it. The grounds are beautiful, too!
Staff was very accommodating. The young lady tour guide was an excellent story teller and kept the student's engaged the entire tour.
I absolutely loved the grounds, and the information shared was incredibly interesting, placing one back in time when the occurrences actually happened. The tour guide appeared to be out of breath as she was sharing the information, which was a little distracting, but overall, it was a visit in which I have been wanting for quite some time. We enjoyed a few cocktails in the cozy restaurant prior to leaving.
Good food--though expensive--and a fun ghost tour. Overall, a great evening's entertainment in St. Francisville, LA.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun. We did the evening tour which focused on the ghosts and their history and our guide was a vivid and wonderful storyteller. The grounds were immaculate and, of course, the oaks, sweet olive, and crepe myrtles were beautiful.
I was visiting NOLA from NY and rented a car to drive to The Myrtles which was a 2 hour drive with traffic. Just as we left we had gotten a flat tire and it took an hour just to get the spare on and get into another rental and we ended up missing our original scheduled tour time. Thankfully, we still made it for the next one and had Rainey Day (yes, that was her real name) as our tour guide and she was wonderful. She was so sweet and just the cutest thing ever and had so many great stories about the property. I have always wanted to visit The Myrtles and seeing the plantation was a bucket list item for me, but after her tour I now feel like my bucket list is not complete until I stay overnight there in the Caretakers Quarters and the General Bradford Suite. Absolutely beautiful property and fun tour, it was SO worth the headache and hassle we went through to get there and I cannot wait to go back!!
I have went with three of my friends. This is something I’ve wanted to visit for a long time, and I had a great time. Lauren did an excellent job at telling all the stories. The only reason why I only gave it four stars is because I wish we could have seen the second floor of the plantation. I would’ve loved to see the bedrooms that corresponds with the stories that Lauren was telling. After the tour, we were able to walk the grounds to explore things ourselves. Overall a great experience!
We came for the spook but ended up LOVING all the facts surrounding the plantation! The history was so detailed by our guide and the interaction with us as a group was so perfect. Jessie wove such a beautiful and tragic story of the Myrtles and we can’t wait to go back!
This was my 27th visit to The Myrtles. As always wonderful, knowledgeable guide! Brought sixth graders annually for 21 years, friends & family other times. This trip was a group of club ladies.
i absolutely loved our tour guide she was knowledgeable confident in her story telling. I would go back just to see her again. I will say that upon my review of the photos i took i was standing in the room were she held her seance room you can see a women with a little girl sitting on the couch behind me and in one phone you can not see my reflection but everyone elses
great restaurant and great tour of the home. would return again. waiter was excellent. tour guide was awesome.
Our visit to the Myrtles was so much fun. Our tour guide was full of energy and you could tell she loved the property and all its history. We did the evening tour and definitely heard some unexplained sounds coming from a different room during our tour and Chloe definitely made off with one of our group members earring!! Wasn’t too scary for kids we had 12 & 13 yr olds with us. Also ate at The Francis beforehand and the food was amazing! My daughter keeps begging to go back and book a room to stay overnight for her birthday, but I’m too scared for that!
My son and I had a blast touring the plantation and surrounding grounds. Great restaurant on the grounds as well. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertained my sons. “paranormal” questions.
It was a great time. Learned a lot about the history of the house as well as some ghost who like to visit and play. We even saw a cabinet open itself more than once. I enjoyed the night tour more than the day tour. Take lots of photos on the night tour and you might see some interesting things in your images.
Well maintained place, surroundings a little 'narrow. Well conducted guide, nice guide (Charles). Unfortunately we could understand little of the details because we did not know the language perfectly. There would be no guides in foreign languages (Italian in our case).
