Greeted by the 'steam organ' being played by the Captain, the boat is a wonderful sight. Boarding was very organised and we found a seat very quickly. The bar was open and the lovely gift shop, I got a USA made carved christmas decoration of the Natchez paddlesteamer , everything reasonably priced too. We started our cruise along the Mississippi with a very good commentary pointing out areas and buildings of interest along the way. It was nice to see the paddles working propelling us along. On the return journey we went in for the lunch, the Steamer Stompers played Dixie Jazz thtoughout the lunch , which was brilliant. Very well organised, water ,soft drinks , iced tea and coffee available. We started with a garden salad with a lovely dressing. The servers were very efficient and helpful. The next course arrived very quickly, breaded catfish which was delicious, jambalya hot and delicious, red beans and rice with sausage and bbq sauce - big portion sizes too. For dessert a bread pudding with a light sauce, just the right temperature and very tasty. The whole lunch was very smooth and cleared away quickly. Everyone then went back outside to enjoy the sights and sounds. We had the full rendition of Baby face as we turned back into the mooring. I really enjoyed the trip and it has been on my 'list' for a long time. Thank you Captain and crew for a wonderful, memorable experience.

Everything was great! The food, service, music even the weather. Everything was clean. A very nice Sunday morning.
It was Great. The service was GREAT.
The brunch has a variety of very delicious food, and the people who work there are very attentive and helpful!!
It was a nice cruise along the Mississippi River. We went for brunch. The food was good. The band was very good. Wish they would have played a bit longer.
Calliope was way too loud while on the dock waiting. Not so bad when on board. Band in dinning room was nice Lunch had a nice salad, very well fried crispy catfish, jumbolia, red beans and rice. All very good Ended with a warm bread pudding Included water, ice tea , sweet tea All before we pulled out of port About $220 for 4 people Good narration while traveling the river. Mostly downstream from the dock.
"We had a spectacular time on the Riverboat City of New Orleans jazz brunch cruise. The vessel itself is clean, spacious, and beautiful, with fantastic views from the outdoor decks. The live jazz band was incredible and truly brought the authentic spirit of NOLA to the water. The brunch buffet exceeded expectations, featuring delicious Southern classics like shrimp and grits, waffles, and warm cinnamon rolls. The staff provided top-notch service throughout the entire two hours. It’s a wonderful, relaxing experience that is well worth every penny!"
Great time! Took my elderly mom. Good was okay, but a nice novelty to be on a steamboat. Long lines, be prepared to wait. Staff very friendly.
We showed up for an hour 1130 departure, 11am boarding, things were ahead of schedule! Smooth and easy they started the line at 1030 and did boarding pics and boarded us by 1045 and the line was pretty long. It kept going till sailing at 1135ish. So I advise showing up early, but know if you are late it’s pretty close to accurate. The food was good to excellent, southern eggs and mostly NOLA Cajun. Shrimp Andouille and grits, was killer. Potatoes were great, and the Biscuits were lackluster. Gravy a bit too sweet. Coffee was nice. Staff were great. Found us for the photo delivery.
Trip was amazing and brunch was delicious. Highly recommend this trip to get an amazing experience on the Mississippi River
The booking recorded the wrong date!!!! I booked for September 29!!! Need refund or transfer to the right date
Loved it! Friendly. Delicious! Perfect! I would come on this again. I would recommend to my friends. dinner cruise on the Mississippi River offers a relaxing evening of live jazz musi
The narrator was very good with lots of cool facts. The band was cool to listen to on the way back!!
Very hard to understand the narrating inside dining because everyone was talking. Would be great if there was a QR code to scan to listen to what was being said. I was able to ingest about 50% of what was said. Other than that the experience is definitely a “must do”. Enjoyed the brunch, different levels of seating, and relaxing.
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Relaxing. The service was top notch. I would recommend it to anyone to go.
I paid for a steamboat, and obviously we were assigned to the sister boat, the copy one which works on … diesel. Big disapointment!
Great experience. We bought the brunch trip, served on level 1. Good food. Bowl of gumbo and 3 mimosa tickets per person given by wait staff. Ask if they’re not provided. We didn’t know about the Mimosas, so they were nice. The jazz band on level 2 played well and there was interesting commentary. If the brunch isn’t purchased, snacks and drinks are available at the bar. It was a nice boat, not the Natchez but the same standard. Very relaxing. Air conditioned inside and plenty of seating outside. Photo taken and available for purchase.
2.5 hour experience on a steamboat with brunch. Excellent cruise. Good good. Very informative and relaxing.
It is a fun and pleasant experiece and goid food. Start right on time, we net very friendly and pleasant people.
Fantastic service, good food. My husband and I went for a birthday dinner. The band was amazing and a quintessential New Orleans classic!
The brunch buffet was a good offering - scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, home fried potatoes, shrimp & grits, biscuits and gravy, salad smoked salmon and desserts. The seating was spread out to not feel crowded, the ship stays locked while brunch is being served. After eating, we made our way out to the seating areas on the lower deck to enjoy the breeze and listen to the captain give a wonderful narrative about the sites and historical locations down the Mississippi River. Best staff attendant: Milton! 10/10 Hint: Port side has the best views of the sights described by the Captain.
The cruise was a great experience. The food was incredible. The band kept everything fun and lively. The views were beautiful. It was a really good time.
Recommended by the hotel concierge. We took the 1130 brunch cruise. Boarding and underway was on time. Our brunch was at 12 noon. There was plenty of selections on the buffet and food was OK, even better than some restaurants we tried here in New Orleans. Cruise was smooth and boat Return to Port on schedule.
This was such a fun time. You won’t regret booking this experience. You also get a chance to learn a ton of history while having a great time and listening to good music.
A perfect way to rest our feet from walking and sightseeing on foot. The buffet was delicious and very enjoyable in the cool and fancy dining room which was a welcome escape from the humidity and heat. You feel like you are still sightseeing while taking an a couple of hours to recover.
The food was great. The people were great. The trip was great. If you want to be outside to take photos etc. and its summer, it will be hot. Lots of good air-conditioned spaces inside though.
The brunch was well organized and the hostess was great but the food was lukewarm; would have been a lot better if it was hot! Cruise itself was nice and informative
The ride on the Natchez was great AND the brunch was Delicious. So much that We ate too much. Wow it was very, veryGood.Everything and More
The food was great and it was I smooth boat ride. The waitress was very polite and professional would recommend to go on
Very nice and relaxing boat cruise. You learn some history of New Orleans while taking in some historical sites. The provided lunch buffet was really good! I would definitely recommend this tour!
The cruise wasn't what we had hoped. The wait time was prolonged because each party had to pose for a photographer who came around later and offered to sell you your picture. The steamboat itself had an interesting history. However, the cruise was a disappointment. The scenery along the river is highly industrial, including the Domino Sugar plant, an oil refinery, random trash dumps, what appeared to be a homeless encampment, and many barges. The jazz band, at least on the day we were there, didn't compare with what you can hear on Bourbon Street.
I really enjoyed the riverboat cruise brunch. The only problem is when you are in the dining room you miss the sights. No windows in the back. The live music is a nice touch. The price was ok. The food was good. The ham was so delicious.
First time doing this brunch cruise and it was nice. Breakfast was amazing, vibe and music were a perfect start to our morning. The band didn’t miss a beat very talented. I would do this again
I thought the cruise was very well-organized and relaxing. The food buffet was good and our server was pleasant. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star is because the pre-boarding music that was blasting out of the steamboat was very screechy, off-tune and loud. I'm not sure how the music was piped through the speakers but it was terrible. Once aboard, the live musicians actually played enjoyable music.
I had a great time! We arrived a bit earlier to avoid lines but there weee none at the end, very organized too. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The brunch food was amazing, lots of variety and delicious! The Jazz band was great. Loved the music and they were very interactive as well. The narrator was great as well. I loved this experience. Was an amazing time along the Mississippi River. Would do it again.
We really enjoyed our experience. Crew were excellent. Will definitely book again.
Cold and wet🤧 wouod be better in warm weather do NOT get the bloody mary the jazz band was really nice
Although the boat was full, it didn't seem crowded at all. Nice smooth ride on the river. Excellent buffet with wide selection of items. Enjoyed the jazz band. Good value for the price.
Come hungry if you book the brunch!! Food was very good and offered lots of variety. Music and narration was enjoyable. Unfortunately it was a grayish day so water and scenery wasn’t overly appealing during our 2pm brunch cruise. That being said I was just around turquoise waters of the Caribbean so I am not a fair judge. It was an experience but I don’t know that I’d do again.
It was definitely worth it. Go early because the lines do get long. Fun Time had by all. Music was entertaining.
Food was wonderful. Authentic New Orleans fare. Shrimp and Grits. Gumbo. Ham eggs andouille. Wonderful drinks like Sazerac. Only two hours was perfect.
We were a party of 9. We got there early so that we could miss the morning rain and stood under the canopy while waiting. Because we prebooked, our table was ready. We were able to eat before the baot started moving. Drinks not included, but the waitress did a great job of keeping up with dishes and drinks for all. She brought the drink bill in a timely manner and said we were welcome to drink more if we wanted. Overall, we would come again. The narration was a bit hard to hear.
The cruise narration was very good. The musical entertainment and buffet brunch were excellent. I would go again.
I was tasked with coming up with a fun activity for me and my wife's "Date Day". The jazz brunch was great. The food was good, the riverboat Natchez was nice and clean. We enjoyed spending the day together cruising up and down the river hearing about the history of the area. I highly recommend if you want to do something different than lunch and a movie.
Such a fun way to see the Mississippi! Any trip to New Orleans would be lacking without this experience! We enjoyed the drinks and the views!
this is something I do every time I am in New Orleans, and it never disappoints. The food is unexpectedly good, the entertainment, great, and the experience is wonderful.
The jazz band sounds authentic. They play a lot of classics. If you like traditional jazz you will enjoy this band. I appreciated the commentary the captain provided about travel and shipping along the Mississippi; it was very interesting. The food was surprisingly good, given it was prepared in large quantities. I really enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Even though it was raining, it didn’t hamper our experience. There were ample places to sit that were shielded from the rain. A nice experience.
The food was overpriced and the experience was so-so. Even in the rain it was packed with not enough seating for everyone
The food was delicious and the tour was informative. The jazz band music was fun and entertaining. We enjoyed the entire experiences.
This was a lovely trip down and up the Mississippi. Enjoyed the brunch and the tour guide. Thus is definitely the time of year for me. Weather was perfect and the crowd was easy to manage.
