If you’re visiting New Orleans, I cannot recommend this Tremé walking tour enough, especially with Robin as your guide! She was absolutely phenomenal. Her knowledge of the neighborhood, its history, and its people was incredible. Every question we asked was met with a thoughtful, detailed answer that provided so much context beyond just dates and historical facts. What made this tour so special was the depth of the storytelling. We learned about the origins of jazz, the significance of Congo Square, and the devastating impact of the freeway construction on the Tremé community. Robin didn’t shy away from the painful parts of history, but she also beautifully highlighted the love, resilience, and cultural contributions of the people who made this neighborhood what it is. Robin also gave us some wonderful recommendations beyond the tour itself, including the food trucks beneath the Claiborne overpass and the Backstreet Cultural Museum. Both were fantastic recommendations and gave us even more opportunities to experience and appreciate the neighborhood’s culture. We especially appreciated that she encouraged us to explore and support places that we might not have otherwise discovered on our own. The tour felt incredibly intimate, engaging, and meaningful. I walked away feeling like I had gained a much deeper understanding of the real New Orleans, beyond the food, music, and tourist attractions. If you do not take this tour, you are missing out on so much. You can tell Robin genuinely cares about the history she’s sharing and the community she’s representing. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip, and I’m so grateful we got to experience it with her. Thank you, Robin!

This tour was wonderful! Highly recommend, First of all the website was easy to book without having to call anyone. Communication was stellar. The price was modest compared to some...which I appreciated as you never know what you are going to get. I would rather give a tip than pay for something that was not so great. Our guide was Harris who knew so much about the entire history of New Orleans, but as a musician himself was able to bring more insight into the whole Treme area and the beginnings of Jazz. We even went by a church he had played in when he was in high school. He wanted to know what we wanted to know, not just a canned talk by any means. Like because I am Irish, he told us a little about that neighborhood as well. And even more generous, he followed up the visit with a long text reviewing a lot of the details and names he had discussed and some other places we might want to check out.
Harris was an excellent tour guide. He was very informative and knowledgeable. I had been to New Orleans previously, but I learned a great deal this time around.
This was an informative, encouraging and impactful history and visuals of Treme. Our tour guide Robin was par excellence and gave us as much history of New Orleans that could be crammed into one 2 hour session! I received a new hunger & thirst to learn even more!!!!!!!
Robin was an exemplary tour guide! We received so much history in just 2 hours that it's still sitting with me days later. I learned so much more about Treme than I thought I knew! I am looking forward to going back and using this company to do a jazz tour. I am recommending to others who are traveling to the area in the future
We adored this tour!!! We had the lovely Robin, who, if she doesn’t yet, should be awarded a masters degree in Tremé history. Robin has studied its history, focusing on truth, and her storytelling style makes being with her extremely accessible and a pleasure. We had another tour the day before (another company) and it left me feeling empty and disconnected. This one could have gone on and on. We’ll be looking for Robin again when we come back. You won’t be disappointed!
I would give my experience a six stars if could! From the moment we set off, our knowledgeable guide took us on a captivating journey through the garden district. The tour was expertly paced, allowing us to soak in historical landmarks, hidden gems, and local stories that we’d never have discovered on our own. Highly recommend this tour to anyone eager to explore and learn more about New Orleans!
