Beautiful plantation. Guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the original owners of the plantation as well as the history of the enslaved at the property. Would recommend tour for older people like myself. Not too much walking and places to sit during the tour.
They did not show up. Waited 45 minutes no response or communication with the guide. Contacted vivator requesting a refund. Waiting.
This was a good tour around the plantation. The guide was very informative and very helpful. She knew a lot and was a bit of a historian. But she told us about the family and about the slaves. Definitely worth knowing abit of history of days gone by.
The tour itself was a bit rushed (the bus arrived slightly late and the tour started without us) The bus driver seemed to be very knowledgeable but unfortunately we couldn’t understand much as the mic system was bad and/or he held it too close to his mouth. The bus needs work on the suspension as it was loud and we were jostled around quite a bit.
Very comfortable ride despite Louisiana’s inconsistent road infrastructure. Van was air conditioned and comfortable; Edward our driver was extremely knowledgeable and gave a great tour on the ride to and from the plantation. He was also a very safe driver. The Laura Plantation is beautiful and the tour guide was also very knowledgeable and covered all the good and bad parts of the plantation history. I appreciate that the plantation doesn’t focus as much on the buildings or preserved artifacts but more of the people who lived there and how the changing political climate affected them. We finished the entire tour in about 70 minutes and it felt sufficient. The tour guide always had us in the shade or in cooler rooms which was a huge plus. Overall, excellent experience for a very unique property. Husband and I were very happy with our experience. The tour company accommodated us despite signing up very last minute.
The bus picked up up within the time frame expected. It was comfortable seating and clean. Our driver was funny and the tour guide at the Laura Plantation was a wonderful tour guide. We're very glad we booked with Legendary Tours.
Fantastic trip. The bus picked us up on time and the driver was very informative. The tour around Laura Plantation was led by Lindie, she was amazing, an impassioned historian with a wealth of knowledge about the property and its past inhabitants. I learnt alot and would highly recommend this plantation tour.
This four-hour trip is very interesting and thought provoking. The two-hour tour is about equally split between the plantation mansion and the slavery exhibits. The mansion is very well-preserved, and our guide was able to paint a very clear portrait of the comforts of life in the plantation house. The second half of the tour clearly contrasted the life that the slaves lived as opposed to the landowners. Our guide was to contrast the two different experiences with stories and anecdotes about how different life was.
Our guide at Laura Plantation was excellent. Joseph's knowledge of the history of the plantation paired with his delivery made for an entertaining and informative morning. We left the tour wanting to learn even more about the lives of the individuals on this particular plantation.
This tour was great. Our tour guide, Logan, was outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. Highly recommend.
It was just really informative and entertaining and I learned a lot about slavery,I enjoyed scenery it was beautiful.
Our driver was great, very knowledgeable. Highway ended up being shut down on return trip and he made every effort to find creative ways to get us back faster. Our tour guide at the plantation, Renee, was wonderful and a great storyteller. It was a great blend of both the plantation family and slave experience. Highly recommend!
I had a really great experience with this tour company. We booked the day before and they were prompt, courteous, informative, and overall very professional to work with. The tour itself was super interesting and we really enjoyed our time. Highly recommend this company!
Edward our bus driver was very personable and helpful. Our guide Christine was knowledgeable, and made the tour interesting.
We were the only people on the tour from New Orleans. They could have canceled us but didn't. Anthony picked us up on time in a comfortable, luxury SUV. I really appreciate that service! The plantation tour was good. It did not glorify the slave owners, which I appreciated.
On y parle peu d’esclavage. Wintney’s plantation aborde plus le thème de l’esclavage.
Excursion to the NON-CASTILIAN plantation. We hired the tour with Get Your Guide and IN SPANISH. when we get on the bus the few explanations they give are in English we arrive at the plantation and they tell us that the guide is in English and they give us a book with the explanation in Spanish. Enterprise sells it to you as if it were explained in Spanish and nothing further from reality only in English. The excursion cost us $75 and the gate entry is worth $25. They don't meet the agreed run from this operator.
